my complain is the look. its the same “hell boy” style for all 3.
I truly enjoyed the bosses, i did it 3 times, with some people went smooth and easy and with one of those groups..well..awful.
What i loved most was the presentation like if they were the bad guys from Power Rangers or some other old Japanese show XDD
PS: i would shorten the length of the dungeon, there is a point where fighting the trash mobs its boring
I agree this is how boss fights should be. There was no real way to tank them, berserker just when around randomly attacking people forcing them to kite/dodge him for a short while before he find a new friend. Firestorm just spit it around everywhere, he didn’t care who he hit so long as he got you.
There was no “stack and spam dps” you had to keep moving, pick your fights and pay attention to what was happening if you wanted to avoid being downed.
I didn’t even mind the length of the dungeon. sure we had alot of mobs to go through but it was fun, and they actually dropped real loot (least from what i’v been getting)
would have been nice if there was a bit less mobs and a few mini events instead. like defend the drill at the start, maybe stack bombs at a wall that drop off spawning enemies. give us more puzzles or challenges and a bit less standard dps fighting.
Spoiler
if you down the berserker first the dredge makes a whirlwind along the outer edges cutting about half the plateform. nothing really new after, flys around throwing large and mini aoes. just in a really confined area now
I LOVED THESE BOSSES.
cough well if you’ll excuse me i’ll go curl up in a ball in a corner and die of embarrassment now.
ok i’m completely brain dead or something because i’m lost as hell on a matter
I am attempting to make Berserker’s Orichalcum Imbued Inscription http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Berserker%27s_Orichalcum_Imbued_Inscription
I have all the items needed, I am 400 in weaponsmithing and yet it will not allow me to discover this. right now i’m just a fly endlessly hitting a glass window.
I support this idea.
all for it, only reason I’v never been into minis is because its tiresome to have to keep resummoning only to lose it when I do deposit.
only reason I can see us need a recharge is if your more prone to shifting between a certain set of skills and want the bigger cooldowns lowered.
That or you linger on that element and only shift on need and quickly go back once your done.
I’m finding elementists have it the hardest in weapon selection. being forced to pick between only 1-2 weapons. Our elemental attunement is a gift and a curse.
Every weapon has a handful of amazing skills hidden in the 20 skills that draw you to that weapon but at the same time another 1 will have equally amazing skills but you can only have 1 of them.
Only reason we keep our sanity is because we can switch out weapons between fights for situational needs. If Anet every gave us a 2nd weapon swap… the chaos that would follow would destroy us all.
hehe i’d agree but its the same issue with alot of classes. Once something has proven to be useful it get flocked on.
funny thing is I have a guildie who claimed he when through 50 chests without getting a ticket just on 1 key… i’m almost glad he didn’t.
Anet seems to have chests drop keys almost as a way to tease us. “sorry, try again”

I’m in a similar boat as you. I’v started working on collecting dungeon tokens with my char and my other level 80 so I’ll be able to buy a full exotic set by the time I reach 80 and not spend a copper.
as for the immediate need. karma vendors, TP, or just pull back to a lower area you haven’t done till you reach 80 and get some exotics.
I am a returning elementist, spent the last 5-6 months playing a zerker warrior after getting tired of the “squishy” factor. But I have learned from my time there. Grown to understand the needed mechanics in the game.
Only started contuining my elementist for a few days and I can already see a big difference from my past experience. Now I need help finding a build that works with my needs in PVE/dungeons (PvP I admit i’m not very skilled in)
I’m looking for a build that has
-decent condition removing
-decent dps
-can give support when required
-can still take a few hits for any mistakes
ok this is gonna sound odd for some of you but is it possible to get a reverse effect with magic find? I just spent a hour in orr with full MF gear and got nothing, not a single blue or green item of any kind, almost nothing in bags (made a killing in gray tho) and when I finally gave up and put my regular armor on suddenly had armor and weapons dropping like always bags started appearing more often.
Has anyone else had this issue or am I just reading way to much into it.
To answer the orginal question, yes lesser and elite elementals can stack so you’ll have 2. Only difference I can think of is just the level of stats a elite has over lesser so it lasts longer and hits harder then a lesser.
As for Fiery Great Sword vs Elemental. both have ups and downs, it all depends on your playstyle and needs. Don’t think 1 will ever truly out shine the other.
know your pain, collecting t6 material is annoying. End up alot of time buying the materials from all the money I get trying to farm the whole 3-4 I’ll find in several hours
I’d like it if a commanders tag would change color depending on if hes in combat or not.
I don’t know about all of you but I find there is always a weapon skill I don’t really want or feel I need but use it because 2-3 other I like alot.
But what if we could take the 5 skills a weapon has and have the option to switch skills to a small degree. Give each skill weapon skill 2 ability that we have to pick from, 1 aimed at being offense the other being more defensive. This would give people a sense of decision (other then picking main and offhand) and let you fit a weapon you like more to your build or playstyle.
This would also make PvP interesting because now besides having to take a guess at what kinda build a player might be running you’d also have to guess what kind skills that sword or staffs gonna throw at you.
check your setting, I know when I take my shading off low suddenly everything gets shiny and metallic. Armor, hair so it might just be a case of your setting be to low to give you the full effect of your armor.
would be funny if the whole point of SAB was because Moto had childhood issues and was trying to create a world from his childhood (for alot of us playing 8-bit video games) and had a plot to capture the people of tyria in this world and rule over us
Ya it does seem kinda silly to pretty much park a character, hit autoattack with a ranged weapon and walk away for a few mins and come back when its over.
Least Jormag requires mechanics and moving which is fun to do, feels more like a real world boss.
1 idea I had for Jormag was adding a battle change up. phase 1 would be the same for the most part but once we blast off the wings and make him pinball around what if he had a 50/50 chance of catching that cliff over the lake? 1 battle is the current one and if he fails to get a grip he falls into the ice and we have to chase after him and fight him under water.
ok so just to start off I haven’t played a end game ranger or done any dungeons so most of my knowledge of pets current issue is what I hear. that being said this is an idea I thought of that could help give pets a new, unique use.
what if rangers had a 2nd use for pets. currently they are used as a seperate creature that can used for dps or tanking resulting in quick deaths makes twith hem useless for a while if not managed closely. Take a Moa for example, what if instead of sending it off on its own you could mount it and gain a 10-15% speed bonus and it depending on its family type now have a new f2 (or the same one) or even an extra ability and turned into something your characted used more closely rather then letting it wander around.
Pet familys that won’t be ideal for tranport, say a bird like a hawk. would now sit on your shoulder or fly in circles around you providing melee like aoes for anything that got to close, provided boons, or defensive ability like stopping projectiles every set amount of time.
Drakes could make fields for you giving your range skill conditions that would be used both offensively and be supportive for groups.
These pets would no longer be on their own but keeping close to you so they could be guided out of harms way if needed.
Note I haven’t though of how every pet could be used. but this should be enough to give you idea what I mean.
Thoughts?
give sylvari a chiapet look, give us an afro/bush
Well… if you want vials, you should farm levels under 10 because you get globs from 10-19. Or, farm 10-19 for globs and break them down into vials in the mystic turlet. The best fractal for drops is Underground Facility, aka Dredge because of the amount of mobs.
That some bad luck, kind of hard to believe, only advice I have is keep on grinding them or solo swamp, krait, or charr for them. Good luck
Do mobs in Swampland still even drop loot? I haven’t had a drop in there for ages so I assumed they did that to stop people from farming that fractal.
I’v never seen a loot option on anything in there. I do however find they spawn fast XD

warriors aren’t OP. good, yes. One of the only classes anet says is where they want it, yes. defined by their 100blade crits, BINGO.
I’v seen players of almost every class that make my jaw drop with amazement at how skilled and good they can be if used right. warriors are the most popular for its easier learning curve (the sword stabs this way) and its 1 button high burst dps.

Only one of them was kind enough to reply and tell me what I should have done. He said I “didn’t pull the slave driver into the wall and didn’t time-warp fast enough”. Also I cast feedback late at the turrets
sounds less like elitism and more like 4 warriors can’t handle a dungeon and unless its perfect there bot functions risk being revealed.

They need to add a friggin group finder tool in this game and if there’s one knock I give GW2 is that there isn’t one. It absolutely boggles my mind that ANY company making a MMO doesn’t put one in at launch — even more of a problem to NOT have one at this stage. Heck they even refer players to a 3 party site that has a very simple and basic tool. Put that basic tool in the game!
“Hey guys, I got a great idea! Lets tell players to go to their desktop, open up their web browser and go to a 3rd party site to find a group in our game. Because nothing roots a player in this world we spent years creating than making them Alt-Tab out of it! BRILLIANT!”
they have announced the plans for a LFG option before the end of 2013. problem is with wording like that will have to likely wait till the “end” of the year
well I don’t know about the underwear part. I mean unless your the type that keeps trying to take peeks under your own/other players skirts. however with summer coming I could see them introducing some swimsuits.
I can see it now, the JP that actually targets and attacks you. running along paths and cliffs along its body and having to hide in certain spots to avoid being slaps/shot/ or thrown off.
example= running along its leg of some giant earth elemental/ or golem he trips causing the whole 1 side of puzzle to complete change its angle so you are now falling straight down the path you where running and fall damage is your greatest fear and the only way to avoid/survive this is by running into a groove or hid behind a rock that lets you use it as a plateform as and after he falls
Other times being forced to hide in some L shaped grooves to avoid being flattened or sweeped off by a hand. The mobs could just be small living fragments of the boss too.
It would also be interesting if the challange was to get up to his head knock him out just to have us go into his mouth and attack him inside for the 2nd half of the JP as we climb down his throat and go for his heart.

would makes sense. myself i’m using the points for the forge to get new weapons but for anyone whose not interested in those weapons they are kinda pointless.
if you wanna avoid repetitive ele be the most likely.
Do a challenge like me, if your bored with the guardian playstyle focus on picking an alt that is the exact opposite.
If I had to guess I think the higher the level the more the chances are rasied. I can confirm however you can still get this stuff early on. I myself got a Vial of Condensed Mists Essence from a lvl 14 fractal (my guild jokes this was the equavalent of a several precurors dropping in a short period)
Any high level fractal runs able to confirm?
I noticed it the first day. with just me and a guildie trying to find a way to hurt it before we ran out of coins Xp We thought we had to break the necklace first before we could even hit the boss (saw the frogs life bar appear when tongue wags) till we took a quick break to see why the hell it was kicking our kitten and found out the real point behind the shards.
you’ve had trouble finding a group? pretty sure every class has that issue (yes even warriors. tired of the not zerk? /kick)
personally I love it when other classes are around, who wants a group of the same class? the wider range of skills the better. I can tell someone knows how to play their class when I back away from a fight and suddenly got someone trying to throw a heal or 2 down on me or cleanse a condition. I’v even had a few times someone put their own char between me and the boss to take a few range blasts off me while I recover.
Classes should be ones you enjoy playing. not what others want.
There’s already topic like that. Don’t double it.
oh I’m sure there is several dozen threads at least like this, problem is search engins so bad you can’t find them once they get off page 1
All I ever really find is things like this sucks, buff that, ect. Make it hard to decide on an range class to play with so much negative posts. So lets leave all that behind and post things that are GOOD about Engineers.

ok so I’m in the middle of deciding between making a ranger or engineer my main alt for goofing off, playing around when I’m taking breaks from my warrior.
I was wondering how elixer gun fairs, it seems to be a rather interesting weapon from what i’v heard but its hard to get early in leveling so I was curious what other though of it dps wise and support wise.
No cooldown, its takes effect every time you use a shout so its only real cool down is the shouts themselves.
Yes “shake it off” will do a double remove, 1 for the actually shout effect and another for the Rune.
Its funny how a shout warrior can go from being the class with crap condition removal to being 1 of the top for it if build right. I myself run mending, for great justice, shake it off, and the signet of stamina. every skill short of my elite is build to take conditions.
(edited by Chaotic Storm.2815)
ok alot of people want this permanently, and yes I really do enjoy this as well but endlessly having it gonna make it get dull over time.
what I’d like to see is them making this like WOWs darkmoon fair. Make it come around every 2nd week or so for a few days. it will give us something to look forward to for a break from GW2 game play. Also it be amazing if it was regularly getting changed. 1 time it can be like this a platformer, and then another time make it like a 8-bit shooter (something like the snowball fights from christmas) keep it changing and unexpected and play off old 8-bit style games we loved as children.
somewhere in world 1 zone 3… around the middle I think. its in 1 of the shops I know that for sure
so who else had their childhood scream out for joy when they first when into the box.
Oh No! 4 warriors and a mesmer attacking the preschool path of CoF. The amazing skills those players must have. I’v brought in whole groups of new dungeon runners into that path just to help them get their feet wet for true dungeons.
just another example of fixing that doesn’t need any real attention and leaving the bigger issues to fester.
you learn to deal with it. hell i’m a warrior who still prefers duel swords to most things even if condition damage is viewed as a poor skill for warriors. sure GS is great for certain times but no 1 weapon is all powerful.
I’v got a guildie who can tank like a pro with a light armored class like necro. or another who makes ele D/D look like god mode. and i’v seen piles of other warriors pull out a GS only to be face slapped into the mud over and over again. Its the skills that matter not the weapon
A moment of silence for our “fixed” omnidirectional bladetrail. you will be missed.
there cooldowns was the big thing I was looking at and triggers.
