I doubt so they don’t have dynamic weather effects like in most games anyways
Which server are you on?
Desolation, living up to its name apparently >.<
Same-sex charr couples? I have yet to find a male-female charr couple lol.
I don’t think they talk about it or openly express it. According to wiki most of their relationships are casual meaning they only…well you know. But sometimes mate for life too
I tried having some fun in iron marches/fireheart domain/ fields of ruin today but I found maybe 2 players on the map, and all events were active and nobody there to play em :/
Especially since today I visited fire heart domain for the first time and I found 3 people on the map. I don’t understand, where is everybody? Should I log in bit later in the evening?
It usually takes me 5-10 secs to load anywhere. So the sad point is, the game is badly optimized so you need a really good computer to run it
Well, so much for the “free content” if we’re not allowed to get it on casual basis. It goes against everything they ever said prior to launch and I noticed as well that if you keep farming mobs after some time they stop dropping stuff.
I noticed that Zojja’s headgear is missing in the cutscenes, as well as part of her upper armor. Just wanted to report that here:)
I think karka shells are the only good reason to go there
Please add more events there! And hearts in your future zones too.
I haven’t been playing in 2 weeks now, and I started playing again 2 days ago and I noticed how I never got an unidentified dye from pve anymore – I used to get 2-3 daily or more just from regular playing. And I noticed the price for it on TP doubled. So my guess is that you nerfed the drop rate? If so, why? :/
Yah, I agree it’s tedious. It’s all about grind. And if you check thier manifesto video on YouTube now, you’ll see that they disabled comments. Really? Shame on you….all I have to say.
Something is changing and it’s not good. It’s like they have become open only to good reposes, and delete bad ones.
It’s evolving! Soon it will develop thumbs! Quick, kill it!
Actually if you look more closely, the weather effects are triggered in some specific areas only. If you land in the first way point in the cove it’s gonna rain, but if you move a bit up – woah, suddenly sun!
I think it could have been more random. Seriously it makes no sense and it’s a basic feature. Even old games like Baldur’s Gate had random rainstorms throughout the world..
Yeah and the squeak of pain from Sylvari female too
Yeah, that’s the main reason I made my custom playlist combining GW2 soundtrack with tracks from other games like Skyrim. No more boring gw1 themes for me hah
I would also like to add that fixing current content is way more important then introducing new content. I think you guys should be focusing on what players have been addressing since launch before you focus too much attention on adding new DE’s, dungeons, areas etc. The cake may appear nice on the outside with new layers added, but if it’s rotten from the inside it will still leave a foul taste in the mouth
I have a suggestion.
Make an in-game survey. An honest survey asking about the new gear tier. Like the ones you made in the beta about personal story. That would help immensely. It will give you a clearer picture of how players feel about it.
Then you can start with questions and answers. But this time, please do not avoid vital questions because it will hurt your name and reputation even more.
I’m happy to hear many nice things are coming.
However I have just one problem with that article.
“We’re very excited about the new content, and from the reactions we have seen, so are many of you”?
Honestly? Have you been reading the forums lately? :/ It’s a bit insulting, but whatever
That would be a bit weird because it’s a very specific holiday the rest of the world doesn’t celebrate
All friends/people I know already play GW2. However I think it would be a better idea if Anet provided in-game survey just like during the beta after every major thing like this.
I think it would provide more statistics then the forum opinions (not that I disagree with them)
Well I’m sure if it wasn’t meant to last, millions of people wouldn’t be interested in buying it in the first place. The reason why it attracted to many players is because it promised something different. Now it’s going down the wrong route. I can tell you that if people knew about this way back, they would avoid it/have no high hopes for it.
You know what’s really sad? Most of my guild mates shun all negative feedback on this matter and “can’t understand why so many people complain” and that “it won’t matter in the end”. Some said that the people on the forum are actually a part of minority who is against this. I would like to know if this is true, but I surely hope it isn’t…
It started to bother me, because I just think they’re oblivious to problems this will cause in the long run.
People on the forum are a minority of the overall playerbase. That doesn’t mean that the majority agrees or disagrees, it just means they don’t express their opinions on the forums.
Yeah, but I have been told that most people in the game are OK with it, even though I have no idea where did they get those statistic from.

Yes, the game is badly optimized so only people with really high-end computers can enjoy the game with minimal lag. However, the lag during this event was purely due to the badly optimized server, and not being able to handle hundreds of players in one spot, to be expected. I’m just surprised that some people had no lag whatsoever, and others couldn’t even play normally. That only tells us that their technology can’t handle this yet, and need proper testing and introduction of some new systems to the existing servers before they even think about giving such huge events again.
I run a high-end PC and on a regular basis have + 55 fps and fast connection, so it was definitely not my fault for being unable to participate.
P.S I found out that reflections and shadow options in graphic settings are badly optimized, like – really bad. So even on high end computers you can experience lag in watery areas or if you have them maxed out. I tried doing the event on lowest settings possible and I still had massive problems.
Eh I just wish gear had no fixed stats that is all
Yeah a LFG window is a must, a core feature really
That’s why you never should buy any chests in the gem store and save some nerves and money ^^
I agree with your post. Well maybe not for the combat because I find it fun.
It’s weird really. The advertised this game as being “different”, how they were working hard on it, had excellent QA team to test the content before it was pushed to the game, and game still has such fundamental problems like horrible camera, poor character creation and lack of skill customization?
I agree with the armor. It’s not very customizable. In GW1 you bought highest defense armor for small fee and customized it with runes and insignias that would cost you 50k+ if you wanted a really great armor for a specific build. All armor more expensive like that was purely for showing off, like obsidian or vabbian.
They just tried to blend with the crowd in the end, not really stick out. If this doesn’t slowly destroy them, I don’t know what will. It seems to me like no new MMO has the guts to be different anymore.

They said the island would take on new events and change over time.
Well they better add it soon, the whole area seems unfinished imo.
I don’t agree with asking people to stop complaining just because you don’t feel any reason to complain and/or your experience was different then ours.
2nd this AN please ignore the QQers some people will never be happy no mater what you give them.
Would you be happy if you couldn’t play at all due to the massive server lag? It’s not our fault they can’t optimize the game well.
People have every right to complain you know
I’m against one time events because I couldn’t participate at all due to the massive lag. So either fix your servers/give multiple overflow servers/districts or don’t create events only a minority of people can enjoy, because your technology can’t seem handle it yet.
Don’t get me wrong, the idea is great, but the execution is a disaster!
In my opinion these bags should give lot more then they do now.
So my suggestion is that you boost rewards from those bags, I only get approx 1 bag per dungeon run anyways:
Instead of:
- 3 tokens
- 400 karma
- 2 silver
Let them give:
- 10-20 tokens
- 1000 karma
- 10-20 silver
That would be much more adequate.
We have a team looking into disconnection problems that prevented some people from receiving their event rewards.
We will update you as soon as we have more information available.
Thank you, and we apologize that you were unable to claim your rewards.
Thanks for responding us here, but could you please make it at least playable for most of us next time?
Thanks
How come some players had NO lag whatsoever but majority of us had huge lag that made it unplayable?
My friend played the dungeon and passed some difficulty levels and says he didn’t encounter any agony condition yet. So he said he won’t be needing the new gear. So is it really mandatory?
Adding multiple overflow servers with max number of players allowed on each server would solve the issue.
I just gave up the lag literally killed me, and didn’t find any ancient karka on the place where it was marked. Worst event i have ever seen :/
Well I’m at the location where the event is supposed to be taking place but nothing is happening :/
At first I was confused why the Southsun Cove doesn’t have any hearts, but I realized it’s probably because the world completion achievement only applies to areas that existed prior to this update.
So my question is, how are you going to handle this in the future? Especially for large new areas such as the Crystal Desert of Maguuma Wastes. These are technically part of the whole world, but will those areas also be excluded from world completion?
Just imagine a huge new Crystal Desert area with no hearts and little progression. That would be a bit sad imo. So any news from Anet on this matter?
I hope the new areas will have more vistas/point of interests and everything that contributes to the zone completion then the southsun cove

Ok, thanks its nice to know there are events after all:) I hope the finale wont be a disaster like the phase 1 of the even tho
So I stepped into the new area, and needless to say it’s beautifully designed, but I noticed 2 problems already: no hearts, no events.
So is this just a new area designed for this “1 time event” ? If so, I can’t see many people sticking around to do anything if there isn’t anything to do except zerging on elite mobs. So are there any events in the new area?
Yeah, god forbid you want to make an average looking female face in this game…yeah not even ugly, but just plain average. Tyria has suffered much it seems, but the females look like they’re ready for a fashion show rather then fighting. It’s stupid
Yeh feels like I can’t participate at all. If all new dungeons are going to be like this then I’m deeply disappointed…
Anet, I have 2 suggestions and please consider it:
1) Add multiple districts like you did in GW1. During events in GW1 I never experienced lag in cities where main events were happening because they would have as well as over 30 districts. I vouched for this idea before, and some other people did and clearly this would help with solving the horrible servers.
2) Add an option to hide players. Aion did this, with simple Ctrl+F12 key if i remember , and that would reduce lag in group raids/sieges. You could only see names but not the player models.
It was unplayable for me. Lasted 15 minutes into the event…shall I describe:
- No audio whatsoever
- HUGE lag, rubber banding
- NPC-s and monsters not loading on time
- 15-20 second skill lag
- died 3 times without noticing at first
The server is horrible. So in my eyes this event is fail on technical scale.
And you still don’t want to add multiple districts in every town?
So if most people are obviously against this, why do they still push it on us?
This doesn’t sound like the Anet we know.
I still think there some info we are missing things do not randomly happen if they never acted this way before then there is something up. The big thing i like to point out is if this is the only set they add in would it still be as bad?
Ncsoft and Nexon could be behind this, and Anet’s silence only….well it doesn’t prove it yet, but it certainly makes it more and more believable.
Really if I can’t trust Anet anymore I can’t trust any other company then :/
So if most people are obviously against this, why do they still push it on us?

Frankly I lost all motivation to log in for days now… very excited indeed
