I’m Chief and I approve of this message. The way the SAB was incorporated fits perfectly and doesn’t damage the world of Tyria geographically, nor lore wise.

But please no more ‘Collect all baubles’ achievements for the next levels in future patches

In addition, I do agree that some other aspects of the game could use a bit of tender loving care, such as Southsun Cove. Make some new heart quests there that deal with the Karka-Consortium business a bit more perhaps. Or some additional dynamic events, would also be nice.

Though we’re not on Maguuma I sentr you an information PM nonetheless. After all, with guesting etc you can easily find out if we are what you’re looking for

Yes this is a completely serious thread……….

Sorry to burst your bubble but a post stating that 1/3 of the playable classes should be removed is by definition NOT to be taken seriously.

As we all know the classes of rangers, necros, and engies are generally considered weak and not fit for any role.

I think you just lack the basic understanding of what a supporting class role is for. The Engineer for example is not a DPS powerhouse but it’s a decent tanky class and can be a very good supporting class. I’ve played one for 600+ hours and strongly disagree with your notion that it serves no purpsose to be in the game.

So yes, the Picard facepalms and Picard/Riker double facepalms are certainly deserved

GW2 is all about knowing how and when to dodge. That’s basicly the challenge.

Sorry but that’s sheer nonsense. GW2 has a far greater complement of useful skills than WoW (yes, I played that game myself for 3,5+ years so I know what I’m talking about). In WoW on my 6 different classes I played I would use 3-4 skills at most 90% of the time, whether I was warrior tanking, mage dpsing or priest healing. In GW2 you use almost all skills as few are truly useless.

The left screenshot shows only a part of the group that participated really. At some point our players were dancing all over Lion’s Arch to incite players from other Guilds to join in

The endless cat tonic, no question:

- Ascended gear can be acquired through the Fractals.
- Dyes can be bought or will drop eventually.
- The minipets are nice but many can be acquired already for a few silver so I’ll get these special ones eventually anyway.
- Exotic skins are nice but I’m happy with the way my E ngineer looks at present.

At the moment it’s a nice place to mine mithril, wood and orichalcum not to mention the 2 jumping puzzles.

In the future I could see some interesting developments. For example, we know the Consortium has some questionable operations running in the area so I can see a future update involving implementation of new dynamic events, a storyline and a dungeon.

Plenty of opportunities to expand upon the concept.

Gold Grind – you need atleast 100 gold for the ideal build and armor you want.

Only two words for this statement: Utter nonsense.

As for the grinding: With a few dungeon runs (20 of them) you have enough tokens to buy exotic items on all armor slots of your character which means you have more than enough power statistics wise to tackle any problem in the game because the vast majority of battles in GW2 are much more skill based (proper skill use, proper use of dodge etc) than they are gear based. The only exception being the fractals due to the agony-factor.

This game does have grinding, albeit to a much smaller degree than other past or present MMOs, but it’s only part of your gameplay if you choose to pursue something actively. You didn’t expect Legendary items to just grow on trees now did you? The items are sought after and cool because it takes skill and effort to get them but they are not a necessary part of the game.

I don’t have a Legendary yet and it doesn’t diminish my enjoyment in the game in the slightest. Imo your obsession with ‘getting stuff’ stands in the way of you actually enjoying the game’s gameplay.

I had rewards very similar to those you describe, I didnt have high expectation of reward so I wasnt disappointed, my main motivation was to finish another aspect of the game.

Oh don’t get me wrong, I played the story for the story and not for the loot. But still, completing something as big as the personal storyline, it would have been nice to have received something that was a bit more lasting than 3 green items.

A nice title, maybe a unique minipet etc would have been a nice reward. Then again finishing it does give you access to a rather unique set of item skins so……

I’d say contact Technical Support and see what suggestions they may have?

Due to the new system as has been implemented by ArenaNet (server transfers are no longer free but come at a small gem fee) I feel it’s a tad more important to let people know where we are located.

Just finished the personal storyline for my Asura Engineer yesterday by slaying Zhaitan. Now while I definitely like the storyline and don’t mind that one’s character isn’t your standard hero saving the world singlehandedly there was one small letdown: The rewards you get for completing the story.

My rewards:
1. 3 storage boxes which give random items: Two identical sets of pirate gloves (green quality) and a green pair of shoulderpads (heavy armour that I can’t even use for the skin)
2. A token you can exchange for a weapon skin
3. A voucher you can hand in for 1000 influence for your Guild
4. A bunch of WvWvW schematics

Comments:
1. The odd: I can understand how these boxes give random items but I would at least have expected yellow quality stuff, considering you need to be level 80 to finish the final missions. Even if you already have better (my Engineer is fully orange level 80 itemized) at least some yellow items would have been nice as a source of globs of ectoplasm. 3 green level 80 items, of which 2 are completely identical and 1 item isn’t even useable by my class is a tad disappointing.

2. The good: A nice reward, since GW is all about the looks of your character since the stats are all the same on the high end gear, both crafteable and those acquirable through dungeon tokens.

3. The social: Sweet. Nice to see something that benefits the whole Guild, so no complaints there.

4. The brainfart: Wtf? I get WvWvW rewards for something that is exclusively PvE based as an accomplishment? No idea what you were thinking here ArenaNet. As luck would have it I like and play WvWvW quite a bit but if I didn’t I about one third of my reward for completing the personal story would have consisted of things that are essentially useless to me.

So in the end a bit of a mixed bag. I love the voucher for influence and the weapon skin, but don’t understand the WvWvW gift. And a bit of a pity that some of the intermediate missions of the personal storyline brought me items that were more interesting than the final one which should have been the epic conclusion.

We could see Palawa Joko take control of the remaining Risen somehow, opening a story arc leading to an Elona expansion.

Seems like we think alike. I think this could create quite an interesting situation with certain more powerful lackeys of Zhaitan struggling to become the dominant force taking control of the risen army and threatening Tyria once again.

What I really want to see one of the six Gods come back and the races of Tyria having to deal with the reprocussions of that. I’m leaning towards Grenth, since we already sort of worked for him in the personal story. There is also the unresolved story arc involving Grenth and Dhuum.

Agreed. There is quite a bit of extra story that could be told here about the struggle between two ancient powers of such a magnitude.

We are located on Far Shiverpeaks rather than Maguuma but we have a lot in common in what we seek in the game, so I hope you’ll consider joining us after all.

I read so many inaccuracies in the OPs post that I fell off my chair laughing. Like Animando says, it’s fine if you don’t like the game but please, when you make an analysis, try to be a bit more correct and on topic. Stating things like ‘Auto-attack equals win’ or ‘70% of the classes on a server are warriors’ makes you look somewhat foolish.

In addition, like RudeDude indeed states so correctly, if you don’t play a class to a higher level you can never truly appreciate what it has to offer.

So we’ve butchered a lot of Karka during the first big event in Southsun Cove, at the same time exposing a Consortium operation that showed how little regard for ethical boundaries these guys have.

We then proceeded to carve pumpkins until our arms dropped off during Halloween and ate sweets until our tummies burst. Subsequently we were strolling around Tyria collecting gifts, doing the wonderful Wonderland minidungeons to collect materials for pets etc The big question is then, what does ArenaNet have planned for us next? Lets do a little brainstorming as a community shall we?

What’s most likely to happen: An Easter event. With Easter being the next large feast in a large part of the world coming up it’s most likely we’ll have an event where we need to hunt eggs, paint objects, maybe can do quests/events that will uncover new dyes (?) etc.

List of interesting ideas for further future events:

1. A continuation of the Karka storyline. How nice would it be if we would uncover more of the Consortium’s secret schemes in Southsun Cove (more dynamic events, perhaps hidden bases, a new dungeon, a new uprising of the Karka and players having to figure out how all of this fits together).

2. Corruption is further pushed back. Since the player kills Zhaitan at the end of the personal storyline it’s most likely that there will be a rise up of a lieutenant of the dragon who wants to avenge its master/seize power or that a new dragon will stir up trouble.

Anyone who can add additional ideas to this topic?

1. Change the status of minipets so they don’t count as collectibles. As it stands you cannot have a minipet in your bags and not lose it to your own bank tab when you use the ‘deposit collectibles’ option in the bags tab. Rather annoying to send all sorts of materials (wood, ore etc) to your bank account only to realize you accidentally also sent your pet into said bank tabs.

2. Make dungeon tokens and sigils collectibles so they can be stacked in the bank tab of your account using the aforementioned right click function rather than having to drag each individually into a bank tab slot.

I feel like being able to team up with your party or guildies should’ve been part of the design of the event.

Fully agree. I have no idea why Anet opted for the method they employed for this event. It would be 10x more fun to do it with Guild mates you can communicate with through voice communication.

Thought up something else: A group sign up system for events like the Snowball Event for Wintersday or the more permanent events such as Keg Brawl.

These are great events to participate in yet the fact you cannot make teams with your friends takes away a part of the tactical aspect of the game. Playing with complete strangers without voice communication just isn’t the same as being on Teamspeak with your mates.
