Yes, except no passive ability. The original ability did not have a time limit either so you could cast it outside of battle in preparation for a fight.

This is a skill that was from EoTN in GW1. It was not a shout but it caused the Warriors next 5 hits to do more damage. I would like to see it return as in GW1 it was something I used constantly in PvE to boost my overall dps. It could effect allies but I think it being singular on the Warrior works best

I think adding mounts as WvW only would be ok. Waypoints are fine in regular PvE but it takes forever to get anywhere in WvW
Send Gold to: Chrispytoast
This game needs mounts like I need a skin-deteriorating virus. Imagine the charr who already run on all fours now getting a mount that runs on all fours. Why does that make sense at all. Waypoints are fine. The cost for a WP is really not that high. I WP all over the place going to world events and working on map completion and I still have plenty of money.

I understand that Guild Halls are still a ways away but I think that it would be a neat idea that the Guild Armor you buy would reflect what guild hall you have. So if you had the Jade Sea guild hall the armor you could buy from the guild armorer would be Jade Sea guild armor. The armor would be made out of the Jade.
There would be a different set of armor for each guild hall.

Op all you are doing with your posts are making yourself seem more like a tool. People have brought up points where they think ANet has done a good job of fixing current content and you just ignore them and say “My post leave it alone.” ANet has people working on fixing the current content. This is needed. However, if there is no new content coming out while they work on these fixes then people who are at the max level, in their maxed gear and have nothing really new to do will get bored and leave. Anet is working both sides of new content and fixing old content. If you notice anytime they add in new content several fixes for older content come in as well.

I agree that there needs to be more end level content, there needs to be more areas after orr that are level 80 zones. There need to be zones that you need to be in a party to get through. I only have 1 level 80 right now and I am running dungeons to get the gear I want while also working on my Been There Done That Title. I am currently at 75%. What PvE content is there for me to do after I finish those two objectives? I could run more dungeons but that would just be for saving tokens. I could work on a legendary but the time I have a life outside GW so it is not a top priority.
One thing I miss from GW1 is that in order to progress through the game you had to have a party. Less so after heroes came out but parties were still better than AI. In GW2 you will see players at events but everyone is usually just doing their own thing. No one is working together.

Probabilities are mathematical. Without the ability to calculate risk; the investor is blindly throwing a dart in the dark hoping to hit the bullseye. Some economists would regard that as the equivalent of throwing money in the garbage.
But I didn’t spend money on this. I would never buy these keys, completely worthless

I think that all classes need better roles when playing in a group. Currently the Mesmer is the only class that has a role during PvE and WvW. All of the other classes are there to do damage. I would like to see more viable roles from classes. In order to prevent groups from searching specifically for one class with a certain build a minimum of two classes should be able to perform each role.
Elementalist – Give them a weapon that is all about buffing allies while doing damage.
Engineer – Turrets grant a small buff to allies, kit for adding boons and removing conditions
Guardian – Add a weapon that is more based on CC.
Mesmer – Currently only class that has a “role”. Not sure what to add for this one.
Necromancer – Little experience here, seem like mainly conditions? Raise condition cap and add a weapon for more direct damage.
Rangers – Give them a weapon that is only about CC.
Thief – Give thieves a portal like skill called Secret Entrance.
Warriors- They hit things, fixes needed to class in general but not their role.
Any other ideas for roles?
Thanks

I am currently working towards map completion on my Warrior and after completing a map I got a Black Lion Key. I had a couple of chests in my inventory so I decided to use it and see what I got. From this chest I got
Fused Weapon Ticket
Black Lion Key
Regeneration Buff
Random Tonic
I then used that key and got
Unidentified Dye -> Midnight Red Dye
Just goes to show that in this game it is better to be lucky than rich

This is from the Wiki
For a neutral (yellow outlined) NPC the player must attack first to gain its attention. The aggro table of a hostile NPC changes dynamically depending on a number of factors, in order of importance [citation needed] :
1. closest target to them
2. who is dealing damage
3. top damage dealers
4. who is using a shield / has more toughness and overall armor
5. others (see Tanking tactics below)
I think that is should be the people with the least toughness get targeted instead of the people with the most. It makes sense that way. Enemies should not be so dumb as to not kill the squishy player and instead go for the more tanky player. If players played like that everyone would die all the time.

Genji, you want to try to complete as much content as possible. Do the hearts in your area and try to find all the WP, and PoI. Your personal story has a level indicator next to it for what the recommended level is to take on that story. If you have done all the hearts in your area and are too low a level to progress to the next area or do your story quest head to lions arch and then to another main city. Do their starting area much like you did yours and your should be high enough for a higher level area.
For Leveling a Warrior using a GS with signets was super fun.

Shout:
“GET OVER HERE!”
This should be an AoE pull within 600. It should be more of a knockdown in the direction of the player. Warrior jumps into combat, uses Get Over Here!, enemies are pulled slightly towards the target and are knocked down for 1-2s

There needs to be more elites to choose from, right now I see that most people use 1 elite per class. The cooldowns on elites are horrendous. I remember GW1 Elites were elite either because they did something a normal skill does but with a shorter cooldown, a different effect, or more damage/healing. As elites are now its wait to use elite because cooldown is way to high to use it at the wrong time.
I think there needs to be elite skills that have lower cooldowns so that if you screw up your elite it is not the end of the world because it will be up in 30 seconds, or maybe 15 for just an interrupt skill.

It may be worth noting that my main is a Charr. I played all of GW1 and understand what they did. As soon as GW2 announced the different playable races I knew I was going to play a Charr Warrior. The Charr love to prove themselves strong, it’s why they love battle. I think that the Charr have been manipulated into doing terrible things the same way that the PC’s of GW1 were manipulated.

When everyone goes melee, the benefits are -
1. Being able to res each other when one of the members gets downed because the boss targetted him instead of the rest
2. Tossing out buffs that nearby players can benefit, and this is possible when everyone is within range of each other and usually that is in melee range.
3. AOE heals and debuffs etc.
When everyone goes ranged, the benefits are -
1. Kiting mobs easier due to agro switching
2. Many combo fields are used by AoE weapons
3. Easy to kill Melee bosses by locking them in place
You should not be focused on playing either ranged or melee, you should alternate as the situation dictates. I switch between ranged and melee roughly every 6-7 seconds.

Because having no powers at all will kitten yourself, and your whole team by a lot.
While defensive stats are good, it’s always good to balance it all out, it’s not really that good to go for one set of stats only.
Like me, I am stupid, I have gone for full, and only ‘’of the Soldier’’ gear, which is not that great, I must balance it out.
I’ll manage though.
The main point being that ANet created a different trinity of Direct Damage, Condition Damage, and Support. I see many more armor sets that benefit the first two more than the third.

I am usually the last person standing in my group. Sometimes I feel like it is because I am the better player in the group but others it is just because I never get agro until everyone else is downed or dead.
Being a good player is situational. Just because you are the last person standing does not make you a good player. I was in TA as my Warrior and was the last person standing in a fight against Malrona. This means that my team really sucked at dodging as a whole. I ran around trying to rez our guardian so that I could get some boons and be less stressed on my dodging. I ran out of dodge and became downed. I then used my 3 on my downed bar to rez and save our Guardian. I would have died anyways from Malrona so using my 3 knowing nothing would save me was the smart choice. I saved the guardian and prevented a wipe and we ended up beating the boss because of it.
That is one of the only times where I felt that the only reason we made it through this dungeon was because I was a better player.

Where is the Healing Power, Toughness, Vitality armor? We have Berserker’s that only focuses on offense so why not have this armor that only focuses on defense?
The closest to this set is the Giver’s set but that is boon duration instead of vitality.
It seems like having a set like Berserker’s but not this kind of set is promoting direct dps over other play styles

This has been complained about since the beginning of GW2 and still nothing done to fix.. Either it is not important to them or the fix is more complicated…
Actually the fix should be the easiest thing in the world to change. Right now the fact that the Target “Nearest” uses Line of Sight makes the calculation much more difficult. All they would need to do would be get your player coordinates, get all enemy coordinates within r distance.
int r = 1200;
int entityID = -1;
float bestDistance = Math.Infinity;
Vec playerPos = Player.GetPos();
std::Vector<Enemy> enemies = GetEnemys®;
for(int i =0; i < enemiesPos.Size(); ++i)
{
float distance = Math.Distance(playerPos, enemies[i].GetPos());
if(distance < bestDistance)
{
bestDistance = distance;
entityID = enemies[i].id;
}
}
return FindEnemy(entityID);
There you have a nearest enemy function, may have some problems but the jist of it is there.

So I am just curious as to what classes need to be changed for the good of the game.
I only have enough experience with a Warrior so here is my thoughts
Warrior needs to become better at PvP. Right now I believe Warriors are one of the weakest PvP classes but one of the strongest PvE classes.

I was a Legenadry Defender of Ascalon in GW1 kitten it. I like them as a race, but hate them because what they did.
I was a strong separatist sympathizer until the point I completed Filds of Ruin. I’ve learned that the treaty will give the entire playfield back to the humans, which is great. In peace, they can start to rebuild a part of Ascalon.
If we could get back Drascir as te Ascalonian human capital, linked with an asura gate to Ebonhawke and get some areas around Drascir or in the Blazeridge mountains, i would be extremely happy
On the grounds of what they did. The humans stole their homeland first and forced the Charr north. The Searing was poorly executed but the Charr just wanted their homeland back that the Humans had taken from them and created a city. The Charr are easily angered and enjoy battle forcing them out of their land was of course going to cause some back lash.
I think the Charr were right to take their lands back from the humans. I think that they handled it poorly by worshipping the titans for power but I think their reasoning was correct.
Also King Adelbern was a horrible king who went insane and condemned his people in order to kill the Charr invasion.

I think the Elite Banner is worthless. There is no reason to take it over SoR. The skill is almost always on cool down and you do not want to use it because if can saved a downed teammate. Unfortunately it does not rez defeated teammates. For Great Justice grants fury for longer and 2 less stack of might but is basically always up.
The Elite Banner is up for less time than normal banners and has a longer cooldown.
The rezzing downed members is basically useless because people rarely go into the downed state at the same time. If you choose to wait until more people are downed they will either die or get back up.

I think something better than an infinite use manual is to allow each character to save two builds that they can switch between out of battle. They would still cost money to reset and would require you to reset them at the trainer but would allow you to not have to re-spec so often if you switch between content like ANet intended.

How is this scamming? I’m not even kidding. This is legit.
No one knows that this is legit. All we have to go off of is your word and with anonymity of the internet that falls to nothing. I think that doing this would be a fantastic idea but asking for the money upfront means that people have to trust you to keep your word. If say 100 people signed up for this, and you backed out on us you would be 20 gold richer. If there was a way to sign up that would not take money upfront and would only take money when the winner had been decided and no player was in charge of doing this it would be great.
Currently there is no way to do this that is scam proof. People could send you their money and possibly get scammed or you could wait until a winner was chosen and hope that everyone that signed up would pay you their money. Either way it requires a level of trust that is not there for an anonymous person I have never met

This is not good idea, because existance of these skins in place of simply new weapons with awesome skins, would reduce the usage of transmutation stones – tool that exist especially for this purpose.
How would it reduce the use of transmutation stones? If you use the scroll it disappears, if you want to move that skin to another armor you still need to use transmutation stones. Is your only reason you think this is a bad idea is because of transmutation stones? Ignoring all the benefits it would allow for adding new skins to the game without having to add more content?

Killing dragons and having a chance to get a named item is all well and good but there should be named items in every zone that you can strive for. Instead of having the Champion mobs be Champions, give them a name. Add named items to their loot table if this was implemented the boss could drop named armor skins.
Give people a reason to PvE in older zones. Currently there is no incentive to go to earlier zones except to participate in world events. Those last about 5-10 minutes and then you are done with the zone again
Send Gold to: Chrispytoast
I remember this being said back when the game first started.
Transmutation scrolls should be a random drop or chest item. These scrolls would…
- Contain a skin for a certain piece of armor or weapon
- Be account bound so that you could get different armor sets for different characters.
- Only work on lvl 80 gear
- Be lvl 80 to use
- Armor becomes soulbound on use.
I think adding this sort of item would allow the number of armor skins to grow exponentially, ArenaNet would not have to add new content for reason to get the armor but instead would add it to the loot table. There could be super rare skins that only drop in certain zones which would cause characters that wanted these skins to go back into the zones.

I constantly have this problem. I select an opponent with a left-click, jump at him … but what does the game mechanics do? … my toon doesn’t jump at the selected target but somewhere completely different, off cliffs, bridges a.s.o. This regularly is a real pain, in particular in PvP.
That has nothing to do with this topic… I have noticed that the Target Nearest seems to care about which way you are looking. If I am looking straight at something and the closest is to my left when I target it will choose the thing I am looking at.
Please make this work as it should. It is annoying seeing the closest target to your left and not being able to easily target it

GW1 you maxed out your gear very early. Heck, if you had the money you could pay for a Droks run around level 11. Close to the 4th mission into the game. After you had that armor it stayed with you. If you wanted better looking armor you could get it but it would never increase your stats.
How did GW1 do so well if Gear Progression stopped at such an early point in the game?
Because an MMO does not need Gear Progression to be a great game. GW1 had many story missions after you reached max level and had your max gear. I think that GW2 is missing more max-level PvE content. Not FoTM or Dungeons but story content. I think that GW2 needs to have story content that you have to progress through to get to new areas. Currently I have no reason to finish my Personal Story after I hit 80. There needs to be high level areas that you need a party to get through. Make a level 85 area when our level cap is only 80. It will require teamwork to get through and make the rewards in that area worth going so that you can always find a party.

For an Engineer isn’t the best distance mid distance? You are not a Warrior where you can charge in and hit things face to face then back out for a bit. As an Engineer you want to be close enough to have you skills be most effective but not be hit. Ranger at least has Melee skills.

So you like to play at range most of the time but like to come into a fight and get your hands dirty then back to ranged?

I enjoy playing warrior but at low levels it will probably not convince her to play. I enjoyed all the classes at the beginning with thief and ranger being my least favorite. To win her over you should make her go through the personal story. Choosing her starting options is equally important as her class.
To get her hooked she can try several different characters. I would have her try Ranger, Necro, and Engineer.

1) Ability to save 2 builds. You can switch between these builds anytime you are out of Combat. Changing these builds would still require money to re-spec and to talk to a trainer. (Maybe increased re-spec cost to accommodate)
2) Guild Halls
3) Duels, in Guilds Halls, or towns, or everywhere.
4) Pets can dodge would be fatal attacks, have same endurance regen as player.
Send Gold to: Chrispytoast
Another post of mine got merged into this one but I would like to address your points directly.
1) Completely agree. In GW1 there were so many ways to change a build to get things that you would not expect from a class. I know that changes slightly with new classes and class goals. I miss being able to fit a perfect niche roll. For Rangers for instance there were AoE rangers, Interrupt rangers, Beastmaster ranger, Condition rangers, etc. I think this would be fixed if we got 2 more skills per weapon to choose from. Just 2.
2) I sort of agree with this one. Being able to save builds and just load them up when a different set was needed was heaven in GW1. Financially getting certain builds in GW1 was as costly as some builds in GW2. The one thing that I think would make everyone happier is if you had two builds to choose from. You could easily swap between these two builds in a town or when out of combat. If you wanted to change one of your builds you would still be required to reset your traits like you do currently.
3) I wanted my Warrior to have more health than my Monk in GW1. That seemed like something that just made sense to me. Armor values worked different in GW1 to make the squishies more squishy to balance everyone having the same health. In GW2 Armor seems much less important. I have not tested this very much but I believe that Armor basically does nothing. I like having more health as a Warrior. I now just wished me wearing heavy armor meant I could take more than one hit in a dungeon without being downed.
4) Dungeons and Fractals. Sure some fights are all about how fast can you kill something but many have to do with positioning, awareness and using your skills in the right order at the right time. On my Warrior I run a bleed build that relies on switching weapons constantly. When I get full adrenaline I switch to my bow and set up the AoE field. I then use my 3 to get Area Might and switch weapons to my sword axe combo, use 2 to jump in for the Fire Shield, then use 5 for spinning fire bolts of death. I hold off on using my blind until right before an attack comes. I use my immobilize and cripple when my teammates need to get away from the fight.
The fact that you do not look for combo fields to use means you are not a team player. Many times I have seen combo fields and used abilities because it will benefit my team even when it is not best for my personal damage. I think you need to try the harder content in order to experience the depth of battles you are looking for.
Also in GW1 all I did was spam all my abilities as a Warrior, there is much more depth now than there was in GW1.
Send Gold to: Chrispytoast
I think you need to give the game more time. After you hit 30 and do some dungeons you will start off hating how hard they are because it differs so much from regular PvE. I play a Warrior as my main and in PvE I can faceroll everything. In dungeons I have to dodge perfectly and be careful where my AoE hits and focus on the same target as my team or we will wipe.
Personally I was having problems staying with the game. I took about 4 months off of my level 72 Warrior because I was not enjoying getting to 80. I started playing again and fell in love again I strived for 80 and once I hit that there was nothing standing in the way anymore. I am running dungeons almost every day trying to get armor and working on my map completion.
The difference between a good Ele and a great Ele is huge. Keep playing and you will reach bigger and better things.
I do not believe that WoW had all their low level dungeons when they started. I believe that many were added in later. I may be wrong though.

The people that buy gems for real cash are the ones providing A-Net with a cash flow in order to keep the doors open, servers on and new content coming all the time.
It’s either that or pay $15/month. Pick your choice.
It’s that simple.
The people who paid the box cost already fund those, because the product is sold as finished goods with a service guarantee.
Nonsense. In order for A-Net to stay open, they have to have cash flow. Up-front sales is not going to do that, especially in light of the “no paid expansion soon” declaration.
Finished goods? In an MMO? An MMO, or at least a successful MMO, is never “finished goods.” Let’s look at WoW. Four expansions that you had to pay for. Numerous non-paid expasions like Firelands or Dragon Soul. They have a $15/month fee. GW2 does not, for comparatively priced base products. Why do you suppose that is?
Read the EULA. I guarantee in there is a clause in there that they can change whatever they want in that game whenever they want, for whatever reason they want, and without telling you about it.
It’s not an MMORPG. It’s a B2P online RPG, the legacy of Guild Wars 1. MMORPGs are virtual worlds such as Ultima Online: The Second Age, this is an RPG where sometimes a faceless horde will show up to do an event with you.
If they’ve designed the game as such that box sales cannot cover server overhead, and require “whales” (actual marketing term), IE the three and four (and sometimes five) figure spenders to keep the game afloat, then they shouldn’t market the game as an online RPG like Guild Wars 1, they should market it as Farmville, because its companies like Zynga and Mobage and such that typically play that way.
Me thinks you do not understand the concept of MMORPG. GW1 was still an MMO because of the people playing it. The instances effected the world but you could always find people to play with. GW2 is an MMO. you can find people to play with and join guilds to go on adventures with. Box sales rarely ever cover the cost of maintaining the game. GW1 had account upgrades the same way GW2 does. It also had multiple expansions and PvP skill sets you could buy.
GW has always had a way to pay to change the style of the game. They do not force you to buy anything to play the game but if you want to buy something they have many options.
