The thing is, those projectile are:

• bouncing => they go over the smoke screen most of the time or the #4 focus of mesmer
• aoe projectiles that are actually ground targeted and not toon targeted => which makes reflects like magnetic aura not work.

However, if you go at ~500 range, the projectiles won’t hit you most of the time ^^

However, funny thing is, since they have linked tokens to account and the same for gold, shouldn’t the token received on first run and alternative runs be in par with the gold we receive ?

Let’s take an exemple:

• CoF rewards 1.26 gold / 60 tokens / 1st run and 26 silver / 20 tokens / alt runs
  So shouldn’t AC for exemple give an increase in tokens since it is … more difficult … ? And instead of being 60 tokens, become 90 on 1st run and 30 on alts ?

Now that would be fair since they were talking about rewarding dungeons depending on length and time and difficulty …

Now what this patch did for me:

• a huge increase in gold as before, which i don’t give a kitten about, am like at *5 more gold while playing less
• a huge nerf in my tokens… which I am mad about

The only dungeon path I run are:

• Arah – all 4
• CoE P3
• CoF P3
• TA F/U
• CM – all 3

And that’s it… why should i be forced to do the other path if I want 60 tokens ? The other path are plain boring… having 60 tokens when I switched alt was a nice addition and was helping getting the armor for alts.

If Anet wants us in other path / dungeon, maybe they should make them more interesting fight wise!

• Sure we can go do other dungeons for stats we want… but I don’t like other dungeon skins that give the stats I want, and the other dungeon don’t provide the stats I want… so nope… not gonna run them…

and yet they provide you with scrolls to lvl alts up to lvl 20… yeah …

I agree to the gold nerf, but the token nerf is imho bad, i have 11 alts… and they all go for arah sets with more than just 3 weapons. Before it was taking me a week to do that… now gonna take 2 months. No more point of upping my alts. Or doing dungeons.

Not gonna run arah anymore except if guildies needs it. Not gonna run much of any dungeon … oh wait… that means… not gonna play much gw2 anymore… that is a good thing !

Yeap gives a chest thingy. And there is 1+3 giants, 3 spiders, the champ before lupicus (8 champs that gave me between 7 and 8 silver + some core + weapons), not counting the chest given on most of the boss except magecrusher

can’t farm tokens anymore… it sux… same path on different toon gives only 20 tokens

and if you kill all champ on arah path 3 you get an additional gold + loot to sell

Oh forgot to say about arah the tons of places where a mesmer can do a portal in order to help group skip tons of stuff

So got the IP of the server on which you are hosted (192.254.232.52) and finally was able to access the site. I looked at arah P3 and activated tips & exploits in the settings.

I think you know them and the site might be just showing Warrior & Guardian. But some quick additional tips you might add for mesmers:

• General Arah tip for mesmer/guardians/engis, they should be using reflect skills… tons of times I end up with groups that don’t use reflection skills in arah /sad
• Pretty much every time you have WoR / SoA / #5 shield tips as guardian, you can add a mesmer tip for feedback.
• For non reflect mesmer: they can still use warden phantasm to block projectiles on group on turrets to block them while group kills.
• For reflect mesmer: they can use focus #4 and #5 to kill turrets
• Corrupted light #1 can be soloed with all classes. As mesmer #2 with portal + speed + blink
• Feedback on lupicus stand under it & all ^^ (seems that tip does not show up on all lupicus path guide for me)

Exploits:

• Arah P3: Warriors, Engis, Guardians can skip the running part after Wraithlord Crusher/Hunter by using leap skills
• Arah P1: On the right before first jotun boss, there is a rock platform on which you can climb. It is also a safe spot for ooze and can be used as a stop point in the skipping. Much nearer to jotun than coral tree

So for kicks and because we are kinda bored with the game, we decided to do an arah naked run with trinkets. P2 was selected mainly because since i run a mesmer, I would not lose so much damage being naked One had to leave but we found another crazy guy to join us

The video (1h7 min spead up): Arah P2 Nude! There is the good, the bad and the ugly in the video. About one hour (30 min in link vid) is regarding Lupicus tries and mainly fails ^^

In the end, was quite fun:

• Lupicus packs quite a punch when you only have like 1k armor instead of 2k. It should pack that much heat with armor on, it would really make him more fun.
• Lag was a killer
• Not many where in melee though some of the members were not fully confident. I think it would be easier to do a naked melee run (video exists anyway)
• it does not take that much more time to actually kill anything in the dungeon

If i get around to it, i’ll try a naked solo of him for kicks.

because i once was kicked from such a group ^^

And no, not making ppl pay, even when i solo, i just invite people at the end for the tokens free… maybe the day i finally lood a precursor i ll start selling spots.

Well, easy by sidestepping on 1200 distance. Kiting around the pillars is faster but often they bug and don’t respawn.

Yeap that is my pb usually… and then you have to go hide behind terrain in remote spots

and i have done that path also with PUGs no pb.

and so I think this boss is not that hard, though if you fail on first try, it becomes a bit harder. They should not nerf it, just fix the reset so spiders despawn.

Am also interested to see how you do Alphard (as not a mesmer / engi / guardian) legit though i think i have an idea, clones still burn me bad before I can completely stack them by using the ballots.

As a warrior I have a really hard time doing him without. Even if I watch for the clone pop and hide to LOS them an all, they still pack quite a punch

Also, if you really want to go for speed runs, you need people that stay alive while being in zerk gear ^^… professions don’t really matter as long as you ain’t ranger

I did a so called P3 speed run in a PUG yesterday… took 25 min which was okay for a PUG i guess. But people kept getting downed on all the bosses. Was so sad. It felt like they actually did not know the bosses and they were like complaining about beeing rooted on Crusher / Hunter. And i had time for 2 TW on Lupicus

And before doing that kinda run, I would advise you on doing solo training sessions on some of the bosses. The ones that come to mind are:

• Lupicus
• Abomination
• Balthazard
• Hunter / Crusher
• Mage crusher (without afk spot)
  Those sessions should not be aimed at actually soloing the boss, but finding what works best on each one of them and also learn the animations. I personnaly find it hard to see the animations whence in a group, especially when some ahole is an elem or a fire sigil user Mesmer are bad too in a way

Though, you might count me in for some of the runs ^^ Am kinda teaching my guild atm since arah might become even more profitable with the next patch.

Cookie, that would be right if the search function of the forum was actually working correctly. Try to look for Arah threads for example… when I do, I only get results from the first page of threads… not the whole 12 months…

Anet sux at providing great interfaces and easy way to do some stupid things like:

• search forum
• see all your messages in the forum profile… yeah right, you missing half of them Anet… if I want my french message i have to switch to french version of forum…
• The constant relogging issues on the forum

And for the game:

• open a whole stack with right click + open all / consume a whole stack (karma for ex)
• buy multiple stuff at once
  (I already lost a mouse and a few fingers to the game ^^)

So sure, there is already tons of threads like this one, but that is because Anet provides bad support utilities to players / forumers. And in the likely event that a DEV or MODERATOR comes to this sub forum, at least he might see such a thread on the first page

However, to help this sub forum become better, maybe a moderator could open a sticky thread where ppl post the common issues they find with the DUNGEON in this game. Who knows a moderator ^^ ?

CoF P3, Tonnelle F/U, Arah are pretty much the only dungeon I run because they are more fun than the other path imho.

I believe that at a time it was not run much because people could not synch and count to 3 for the 5 torches (only 3 now). And they also were not learning which mob to focus / control in the capture event. Weird thing though, they have no problem doing it in CoE XD

Darn, thought I had that bug tonight… but she only went back to stealth once really fast and did not stick to it. However the stealth windows were not 45 seconds appart… they where going from like 30 seconds to 50 seconds…

Might have been due to the fact we got a DC / dead guy in P1… or not… that bug is really hard to nail… next time I’ll film the whole fight and try to make her bug, if not that 50% bug at least the stealth window non fixed timer.

stacking at melee range requires optimal groups and good coordination… not saying it’s wrong, just saying anet really need to work on their encounter ^^

I think dodge back, wait ~0.3 seconds and then dodge forward works quite fine. One more dodge/Aegis/etc to be on safe side.
Also I think there’s a range where his ranged attack misses but he won’t use swipe (haven’t tested though because no need).

I agree with Wethospu, you don’t have to dodge immediatly at the start of the aoe animations either too. You can wait like .5 seconds and then first dodge, wait .3 seconds dodge again.

Yeap there is range without kicks and projectiles, often use it when i need to rez someone that fell down.

Also, I was talking about #5 of shield. Watch the difference between the activation of the bubble and the feedback bubble and you ll see that you have to launch shield #5 sooner. I don’t even use SoA on Lupicus, way too unreliable.

Also, tonight, i took 2 hits in the middle of the feedback, and i mean middle of it, not at the start or the end ^^. Lagging is a pain on Lupicus

Might as well ask now, but has anybody found that invulnerability can’t be trusted anymore ? (taking about #5 shield on warrior, F4 on mesmer for example) Sometimes on my warrior I see one block and then i get hit anyway without having activated any other skills. While on the mesmer it feels like the invulnerability with 3 illusions is not a 3 seconds invulnerability but something like 3 * 1 seconde and in between seconds you actually can get hit ^^

And to answer Bodicea, yeap, you are right, it’s more like:

• wait 1 sec after animation starts (line moving towards lupics)
• dodge
• run for half a sec
• dodge

Lilith, guides are old and can be found on the forum regarding arah. It’s just that the stupid search engine of the forums sux big time. Atm, dunno why, it actually search only through the first pages’ thread… not the whole 12 months or so of posts.

man, you melee Malrona, especially with a guardian. Since you are talking about giving advice, let me give you some:

For Malrona, equip the following skillz:

• Shield of Avenger
• Wall of Reflection
  And on your secondary set use:
• whatever you want main hand, 1h sword can be nice for blind though
• Shield

Now, you gonna go get that kitten in melee:

• You don’t dodge the first poison because it has a nice *4 boost
• You put down WoR for the aoe that reflects on her
• you wait for the next AOE attack, you switch to secondary set, and pop #5 on shield to protect your melee friends
• you wait for the next AOE attack, and like 2 seconds before you pop SoA
• repeat

And… OMG… you meleed her, did tons of damage on her… and the fight actually went faster…

• A rotation of Axe/ mace + GS is better than just staying in either one

usually, feedback is instantaneous, the shield actually has an animation of growing bigger. In that interval, projectiles can get through and you get damaged. However if you launch at the start of the animation, it should be ok.

In the same way, WoR is a bit screwy depending on where the projectiles should land ^^ since the projectiles can actually jump over WoR or it can land in front of it and do the damage. It takes some practices either way

though this one is only parts of a bigger bug. Not really easy to see, but 2 sparks went in the same circle. And sometimes getting the other sparks in the other circles won’t get Simin to pop back. Though, we got lucky this time ^^

So was my first time it happenned to me today. Found an arah P4 group that was stuck at Simin. Went in, checked the guild tags. Only 2 from the same guild. So did not think much about it.

After the down, all 3 that were not in the guild got kicked. And those kitteners sold the spots and added us to their blocked list. Funny thing is… I have them on video and we know the accounts.

Since I can’t name them on the forum… it’s sad. But Anet, when will you actually change the kick vote system to at least 51% present member ?

• yeah i know all the ones who gonna say don’t pug, or launch the dungeon yourself and so on… but come on…

in the same way, you can have sparks pop before she goes stealh and you stupidly run them, then she goes stealth… and your like… wtf… or simin not going stealth anymore and doing nothing. That fight is bugged insanely so.

Usually the only one that is really hard to pull to the center is the wraith that pops on the seal from the first boss position, he tends to reset a bit easy to that spot, while the others you can just go say hi and they will come

Oh, and the bug was confirmed some time ago by anet developpers (like 6 months now, when Houdra was saying they need to revamp that encounter). I really need to get that thread back. And it is not due to letting her regen more or not.

What you show, is actually the Phase 1. Phase 1 works like this:

• If my life was over 60% or 70% when I appeared, i will stealth at 50%
• otherwise, I switch to phase 2, which is on a timer that’s around a minute.

Also, I admit, the only time we encountered the bug, we did a complete boss reset, went back at it, and downed it easy peasy.

Like Dub said, if you on EU, whisp me, i spend my time in pugs most of the time.

As for the gw2lfg “looking for exp people”, “speed run”, “fast run”, … well they … suck… sorry but to me experienced people don’t die on lupicus… seriously ^^ number of time where i have to finish GL and I see guys popping their ORB and screwing my CDs… They also know, as Dub say, how to run and skip.
And for Lupicus, they should know how to:

• either melee, or make him move from one spot to another (when has aggro) so that the others don’t have to run all the time.
• move him to a spot where rez can be done safely and fast.
• DODGE THE FRIGGING GRUBSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS … how many “exp” group i see where i am the frigging only one dodging and even if you explain, they just don’t bother….

As for speed runners, to me, it means they melee everything and don’t frigging stand in “safe corners”…

Am not even joining those groups anymore since i usually have a worse time than if i go with a group that says LFM for P# and that is it.
In the same way, I don’t go with groups that ask for specific professions. You usually end up with guys that you have to carry.
