I usually hover between close and mid, keeping an eye on close and helping mid (engineer).
- Keep right mouse clicked at all times
- Change mouse sensitivity
- bind your 6-0 buttons to keys near wasd, such as a,e,r,t,f,g,x and/or extra mouse buttons
and use shift+a,e,r,t,f,g,x or alt+a,e,r,t,f,g,x for extra keybinds. - rebind your dodge key, mine is bound to the spacebar
all is vain anyway, difference is that there’s still someone caring for good playing instead of cheap wins like vahn and someone who just care to win (Still dunno why, there are no decent rewards for winners and top players atm, not even ranks since they’re gonna be free for everyone) going for whatever crap can make them succeed (One for all decap engi) feeding their ego and stuff i guess…
I’ve been playing non-AR decap engi since release, it’s just fun to knock people off points.
Aren’t we all playing for fun? I don’t get why people who don’t have fun still play…
With the new patch; will you need Transmute charges to change the look of your gear in Spvp? I switch my look out almost daily, is that going to take charges to do it every time?
Just repeating myself for clarity:
You’ll only need tramsutation charges to transmute skins from the wardrobe onto your current armor. Multiple sets can still be held in your inventory and you can equip different sets without the cost of a transmutation charge.
You just won’t be able to stock gear in a locker, you’ll have to carry them around in your inventory. The same as PvE gear before the patch.
This could be cool as well: The players in the top team on both EU and US servers get a cool title, if they loose versus another team, they loose that title and that team gets it instead, a bit like king of the hill. Some incentive for continuing to play would have to be added to avoid ppl who got the title from stopping to play; one thing could be that you automatically loose the title if you don’t play for a while
Yes, things you have to earn with skill > things you have to earn with grind.
It’d be great to see seasons with temporary titles and ranks that reset every season.
I’m not much of a grind towards long term rewards player, but reading this thread I’m probably alone in this.
I could be wrong, but your toon will always look the same in PvE as in PvP right? So just save the actual items in PvE and you can enter PvP with those skins. The stats don’t even matter.
You’ll only need transmutation charges to apply skins from the wardrobe, which contains all your current PvP skins.
This way you won’t have to use charges everytime you change your look.
It’ll take some bag/bank space for sure.
- Will Living Story skins be available in the wardrobe if you have the achievement unlocked but no longer have the item? (In my case I trasmuted over several of these backpiece skins).
- Will skins chosen in character creation become available in the wardrobe if you no longer have the skin?

I just had a fractal spear drop for me. I was glad at first but then i realized there’s hardly any underwater content in the game.
WvW lake is gone, PvP capricorn is being deleted, no one runs dolphin fractal because swamp is faster, etc. …
So what use is a good looking underwater skin now? I’m not getting into underwater legendaries or other underwater skins. My concern goes towards fractal skins because these are a very rare, 100% RNG drop and can’t be sold or bought on TP.
Maybe let us trade our fractal skins for other fractal skins? Or with the new update patch change all fractal weapons to fractal boxes, letting us choose a new skin.
What does the community think and is there any chance Anet wants to do anything about this?

And filled with stealth thieves just pulling people over those glass floors.
So of course the system will need a refuse duel requests option in the menu, but what of the players harassing you through chat? What is to stop you from simply blocking that person and you will hear nothing from them again?
That’s the thing though, right now I rarely have to deal with that because of the extra effort you have to put in to try and get someone to duel you. However if there was a readily available way to do it some will flame you for not wanting to bother with them. What’s worse is that even as things are now I’ve blocked one troll only for his friend(s) to continue the assault. I enjoy a bit of light-hearted trash talk but some people take it waaaay too personally. I would say this kind of behavior would happen much more frequently with open world dueling.
Isn’t that a weird thing to assume to happen? I mean, if that’s the only reason you don’t want duelling I think it’s a non-issue because I don’t think people thát annoying exist in large numbers. Maybe the odd bored 13 year old during school breaks.
I will laugh really hard if the PvE’ers rage that we have access to Flame Axe, Wings Bows and Fiery Gladius in PvE when they get access to Legendaries in PvP that we PvP’ers have never been given access to —no means to acquire them solely by playing PvP--.
It will happen though and it will be hilarious.
I don’t have flame axe or fiery gladius
People seem to have a lot of bad experience with dueling in mmo’s.
I remember in (BC) WoW a couple of years ago when I walked past some people duelling.
I stopped to look and noticed a person playing my class (mage) doing amazingly well. It made me get into the PvP scene and made me try out Arenas.
Afterwards I’d often semi-AFK to watch people duel and challenge eachother, it made the game feel much more awesome.
Ofcourse a duelling system needs: no duelling in cities, decline all challenges button in options, immune to buffs and heals from allies while duelling and so on.
I doubt anyone in PvE would run around harassing people to duel with, most of the community is very polight in PvE.

What is up in this topic :/
So much pointless argueing and repeating. But as far as I understand:
naysayers:
- Afraid of people harassing them to duel and calling them names if they refuse.
- Afraid of ill-designed system which will allow griefing.
yaysayers:
- Want free duels that can’t be interupted by griefers in WvW or PvP.
Yea I loved getting the dyes drop for me an getting the thrill of wondering what i may get. I think this is a bit harsh on those folks who want to make bifrost and need 250unidentifed dyes to make the gift of colour. I just finished mine and thank god i did, cause collecting 250 dyes now is hard enuff without them dropping even less or not at all.
You’ll only need 100 unid dyes after the patch.
But all in all, I don’t see the need of adding a duel option in PvE, there is a PvP option, go PvP. And leave the environment out of it.
In the end it’ll only end up as an instance anyway. heck buy the gemstore custom pvp arena, and off you go.
Doing so much effort for a simple duel makes it all very serious though, the main reason I want duelling is to have something fun to do while waiting on PvE things.
And I sure as hell don’t want to spend money for a couple of duels.
I don’t see why anyone would be against duelling as long as it’s done like in WoW:
“XXX challenges you to a duel” => “Accept or decline”. And while fighting you stay unattackable by other players, but also not friendly so no buffs can be applied to you.
You choose your location, (out of mob ranges).
I mean, how great is it to have some friendly duels while waiting for a world boss to spawn for example. (Where you btw can’t leave if it’s an organized attempt against e.g. wurm).
It’s also a great learning tool and a gateway to PvP for people that feel intimidated by sPvP.
Another reason is for ‘fight club’ style events. In PvP you need to find an empty server, and as soon as 7+ people are in it, other people will be joining expecting a normal game.
And for big events the server will just be full.
Duelling is fun, and it adds great ways for fighting without consequences.
- No chance to be interrupted by other players
- No special efforts
- Easy ignorable. They could even add an option ‘Auto-decline duels’.
edit: added 2 sentences.

Well, that’s a different topic though, my question is purely about the skins that were given by completing Liven Story meta achievements.
^ Or achievment-unlocked skins for that matter.
Would it be possible to have all the living story achievement-unlocked skins in the wardrobe if the achievement is unlocked?
I am one of those people that transmuted over backpieces over and over.
In my case:
I have transmuted my quaggan backpack over a zehpyr rucksack that I transmuted over shattered holo wings, which I tranmuted over a quaggan backpack which I trasmuted over a fractal capacitor.
So:
Would it be possible that shattered holo wings, tequatl wings, karka shell, gasmask,… be unlocked in the wardrobe if you have the achievement instead of having the actual item in your inventory?
(edited by Clip.6845)
What you suggest has been suggested countlessly. The best solution imo is to make tournaments have a rank 10+ or even 20+ requirement.
The matchmaking should’ve solved this a long long time ago, but hélas, it’s still terrible.
This has been sitting in the back of mind now since the beginning of the tequatl update.
What if guilds could make their own overflows? Only people from the guild would be able to enter the map (party members too).
If you are organizing to go to a map with +100 people, you know an overflow is going to be created automatically. So what would be the harm in reservering an overflow manually? This way you can actually play with the people you want, the way you want it and where you want to.
It would be for big guilds only and costs high amount of influence. New Architecture level perhaps?
I don’t know much about influence costs and the like to make a detailed suggestion.
So far the only way to beat teq is quite ridiculous. You have to get +100 people together, organized.
Now, the problem isn’t that 100 people is a lot, it’s not. The problem is to not get into an overflow and not to have spots taken by non-organized people. Basically you have to join the zone 1 or 2 hours before teq spawns to be able to participate.
So any casual player will never be able to beat teq in it’s current state unless you get extremely lucky.
ah, yeah. Really dissapointed about the so called ‘impressive howler aura change’ they announced during that crafting livestream.
I’d liked it better if they didn’t say anything at all, it’s just not noticable.
Edit: what’s worse, is that it stays at the place you cast it, just dissapearing off-screen when you use it when running.
Or nothing that I can see anyway?
Footstep, aura and skill effects all look the same to me…
Same with howler, don’t notice anything different.
Whatever build you choose, just remember to pack enough burning if you run conditions. Either through offhand pistol or flamethrower.
I use condi grenadier builds > freeze nades to start with: blinds just before we get in melee range, poison when i see a couple of enemies at 50% hp and the bleed ones every time they are off cooldown, never the #1 nades. Ofc mixed with pistol/shield skills and other skills.
In longer zerg fights i tend to focus on 1 enemy at a time, pulling them with toolkit and interrupting them with the shield.
It was like this originally, dunno why they changed it. I would prefer it to activate without enemies too, smoke field combos are better with no nearby enemies imo. (stealth fails if you hit sb with the blast finisher).
I beat them all with rabid gear yesterday, used 2 kits + elixir S. Switched between grenades/flamethrower/toolkit/bomb kit depending on if I needed more damage, control or defense. Didn’t use food.
High stakes I did on Subject 7 aswell, first try no problem, just don’t pick the earthquake & outnumbered ones.
First 2 super easy with berserker geared warrior. Tier 3 impossible (I killed the first confusion spamming veteran, died at the second).
Can confirm, did t2 (ding), t1 (nothing) and t2 again (ding)
You can do both.
The only thing that really matters is where you put most of your support tokens.
it’s the same when you stealth or use spectral walk btw.
9/10 wvw with sword/mace and longbow full zerker gear
decent condi removal now, 25% movement trait, …
Anyone else as happy as I am with the changed Rocket Boots? They provide a great escape leap now for engi and general ooc mobility.
I just love them!
No.
/charrrrrr
3 efigies per map normally, and 50 in total. I think they finally lost it at Anet… you get nothing for burning them and 50 is a totally useless, unfun grind.
1. Howler
2. Gift of wood, wood statue, gift of mastery
3. Might & Magic
4. I’ve got about 200~220 ish of all tT6 mats now and 0 Icy Runes.
I bought howl during the karka event with all the money I had at the time (a wopping 12g). My warrior’s look will finaly be complete with this legendary, can’t wait to be able to just play WvW instead of wanting to farm cof p1 for gold :p
We need a power weapon to go with the shield for more build diversity though, a mace would be great.
We still plan to do both new legendary weapons, as well as a clear path (on top of the current random chance) to gain precursors which players can see their progress and understand how much work they have left to do to gain it.
It’s highly likely the precursor concept will involve playing varied different content all over the game to gather numerous content specific materials that are combined together to make a precursor.
We do also want to maintain that chance you could get lucky and earn one earlier through random drops, so when we add the new system we will not remove the current one to ensure players have multiple ways to gain the items. Also with the upcoming update to WvW, there will be a chance players can earn precursors from the WvW rank reward chests as well.
Please make don’t make these account- or soulbound though! I have had a precursor for a while now and all I need is t6 mats, If I could sell a precursor I could finally buy those mats…
Toolbelt was detonate all mines, with the trait for knocbkack on trigger it was hugely OP.
edit: still had a noob vid from beta’s lying around when i was playing full bunker with mine kit :p http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7DzD1chFPw
mine kit from 3:00 onwards xD

We really need more ways to use our adrenaline.
What do you mean? I use it a lot in pve, but in Pvp like Tournies etc I rarely use because I need adrenal health to stay alive to bunker a node. Not that it does much against certain foes and receiving foul mouth for playing one.
Bunker with healing shouts? Because if you pick the trait that gives adrenaline on shouting you can use your F1 everytime before you shout x 3 and you will never run out of adrenaline :p

I don’t really care about the titles tbh, I wish I could disable legendaries though :p
Basically what the title says. I think a minimum rank of 10 should be required to enter a solo queue. I would suggest to not have a minimum rank when joining as a premade though.
What does the community think?
Also, the throw wrench doesn’t heal supply crate turrets (but the autoattack does)
take a look in the tpvp build topic a few posts below…
So, name one other class where u don’t have a bad time not running 1-3 different builds?!
Less QQ, more GG – all issues engi has: other classes have this too.
I hope that wasn’t aimed at me, it wasn’t meant as QQ, just as advice :p
This, this, and all of this. It’s what I’ve been saying to everyone having difficulty on an engineer. I have an engineer,it was my first love and still do this day remains my favorite. I started off as a mediocre dual pistol condition engineer. I now run an HGH grenade berserk engineer running level 40 Fractals and even carrying people through them. The learning curve is extremely high, with only Elementalist having a higher learning curve, but once mastered, the pay off is exceptional.
I have to admit a hgh grenadier with zerker/pvt gear is a very decent build. Even without the might stacks it has great damage, wonderful mobility and good utility for dungeons.
