Looks like a group JQ got bored and decided to troll the Jumping Puzzle with Mesmers, Engineers, and Elementals.
Hmm. Maybe? Can’t you see enemy portals?
Should yeah
Well. Wasn’t seeing any of those.
Also doesn’t exactly explain how he appears, casts his spells, and then vanishes away again. Should be more obvious particle effects when that happens.
Hmm. Maybe? Can’t you see enemy portals?
Using the Magic Well that gives 4m of stealth.
That doesn’t seem likely though.
Unless he’s very quick at getting from the magic well, back up to the chest, and to all sorts of other places.
I’ve been trying to help others get up the jumping puzzle now. And basically he’ll appear for a few moments, and then vanish again and not reappear several seconds later. Not even seeing any particle effects show up.
So, I was doing the Eternal Jumping puzzle today, and came across an unusual thing. I’m thinking it’s an exploit, but I’m not positive.
Basically, I was running across this mesmer from Jade Quarry who was suddenly appearing out of stealth, and using that Speed Buff/Enemy Knock Down ability. Of course, he was using it to purposefully knock me off the narrow stairs and ledges so I would fall to my death. (Good thing I had my reduced fall damage trait on)
What was strange though, is that I ended up getting all the way to the end chest, and looted it. I stood around for a while, trying to find this mesmer, but I figured he must have just disappeared. Now, about 30 seconds or so later, he suddenly appeared and used his spell to knock me off the chest platform.
So…how was he doing this? Staying in stealth for so long without me being able to see him?

I was really expecting that it might be a retread of the original Karka Queen battle back when Southsun first launched. Chasing her through multiple stages, all the way up into the hive and then blasting her with explosives. I’m a bit disappointed that it was much more simple.
That said, I think the real climax of the event was the fight with Canach and NULL. All of this was the falling action and conclusion.
Sounds like the hat (the one with horns), is something that will be very easy to get.
The wings, that’s what I want.
I personally wish Thieves had the ability to dodge while immobilized, at least in some limited fashion. I bet that’s partly why thieves rely a bit more on stealth, because it doesn’t matter if you’re crippled or rooted or even stunned, as long as you stealthed first.
Conditions are also pretty rough. There’s good talents that remove conditions while in stealth, but nothing similar for dodge. Maybe some internal cooldown of 10 seconds, where every dodge removes one condition?
But I may be asking for too much there. I love dodging personally, I just wish I could do more of it and be more effective while doing it.
I feel like Grenth would be a lot more enjoyable if there was simply a waypoint that opened up once all the previous events were cleared. Then the run back into the event wouldn’t be so long, and reinforcements could easily get back in.
I mostly see this fail during the Shade portion of the event though. It’s just brutal if you don’t have enough people to be taking them down.
I play Sword/Pistol a lot in PVE, but it does feel like it’s really missing some things compared to other weapon sets.
There is a complete lack of finishers. We get projectile, and that’s it. Only one combo field too, and Black Powder’s radius is pretty small. It would be nice to see at least one finisher added to sword. Maybe Whirl added to Pistol Whip, or Leap added to Infiltrator Strike.
There’s also very few ways to get stealth while using sword/pistol. Pretty much all stealth comes from the utility skills and traits. While I don’t think that the sword sneak attacks are all that great, there’s a lot of defense that comes from being able to stealth often. Sword/Pistol gives that up for a short duration stun which only helps when fighting one foe at a time.
The one main thing I do like about Sword attacks is that it’s all AOE attacks. That’s why I enjoy it for PVE. But if I’m fighting just one tougher mob, I feel like I would be better off with daggers. And if I’m in a large group event, I think I’m better off sticking with the Shortbow for all it’s combo effects (and because thieves are so squishy when surrounded by mobs).
This would be pretty nice, especially for poor players who get lucky with the drop of a high ticket item.
There’s only one potential issue I see with this. If someone happens to list an item for a value that won’t sell, they may not be able retrieve the item due to a lack of gold.
I actually only would need about 10 gold to make up enough to sell it. Though I’m really putting getting loans from others as my last resort.
I did hear a rumor that I could potentially list an item for just it’s sell price, and then it would sell for the highest (or lowest) buy order. Of course that’s a little bit risky when we’re talking about an item that sells for 400+ gold.
That 15% listing fee is really annoying…
So a while ago, I managed to pick up a Legendary Precursor. The Hunter in particular. I’ve been mostly sitting on it for the time being, looking at the prices rise and fall on the TP, wondering what I should do with it. I only have a Thief and a Ranger in the higher levels, so I don’t have anyone that can actually use it. To that end, I figure the best thing I can do with it is to sell it for a bunch of gold. The problem is, I only have about 10 gold to my name is way too little to actually list on the TP for the prices it’s selling at. I feel a bit stuck at the moment. I have this really expensive item with no idea what to do with it.
I’m wondering if anyone has some good advice for the best way to sell off a Precursor, especially one that they don’t plan on ever using.
I really like the bells, but I also really liked the music from LOTRO too. I kind wish getting an unbreakable bell was a little easier than hoping for a random drop.
I was kind of hoping we might get some shortbow improvements. It’s rough not having any weapon with a consistent 1200 m range.
As someone who got the chest, I would like to see some method put in for other players to obtain the special Karka Chest – The one that contains the karkashell earring, and the karka inventory chest. But it should be something that requires a fair amount of work. That event took hours to go through.
The Hunter – Rifle
I was pretty blown away when I saw two exotics drop, considering I never looted even one before.
I felt so sorry for her after talking with her a bit, and seeing her breakdown after making omelets. She’s not alone on the island anymore, so why can’t I give her a big hug, and get her a rescue?
Arena Net really should reconsider. I’m sure that the November update will be super exciting, but can’t you put that timetable back for Part 4 to end on Monday? Lots of people are being affected by the storm, either directly or indirectly. Even just a few days would give players the opportunity to partake in the “party” who might still be recovering from the storm.

Wow. Armor looks very different between genders.
Well, one only gets legendary weapons for the look. I haven’t see any myself, but apparently they have some crazy graphics that are adequately represented by any previews.
He’s talking about the cross-swords that appear on the map to indicate battles. Personally, I don’t know what the criteria is for them to appear.
I admit, the night capping is a little frustrating. Make a good offensive, take some keeps, and hold those keeps. Then wake up the next morning to find the entire map has been turned red and the team in last place all of a sudden has a huge lead.
I don’t know what would be a good way to address that problem. Maybe simply slower score ticking. That way if someone has an advantage for a few hours it means less than a server that has the advantage all day.
I’m not saying the night capping is wrong. But it is pretty much the only reason Darkhaven is doing so well right now.
Such strange responses. It’s pretty simple. The OP feels limited by the 900 range on Shortbow attacks. I do too.
Clusterbomb is nice, but it travels slow and really isn’t as devastating as some other posters are saying. Clusterbomb also has a 1200 range, so I really don’t see any reason why not to give Trickshot a 1200 range as well. The only place it will really help is siege battles and make things a little more fun.
Edit: I also don’t see thieves as powerful as the rest of you. Personally, I get absolutely wrecked by warriors and mesmers.
Throwing my hat behind longer range for Shortbow.
Clusterbomb already has a 1200 meter range. The problem is that it has a really slow travel time and burns up initiative. It gives players and mobs a long time to move out of the way.
Giving Trick Shot 1200 wouldn’t really be that big a game changer. It can only bounce between 3 targets, and it’s relatively small damage. It’s only real effect would be to let thieves join in on shooting from tower walls, and providing a ranged option against melee unfriendly bosses.
Pistol/Pistol could use something, I agree. I just don’t think greater range is it. I’d rather see pistols become the mid-range weapon set and get some good kitting abilities.
