Where are all the good roamers in GoM? So far its been people who run away into a bigger zerg, especially that guild [CODE]. Are they PvE by any chance?

There’s quite a few GoM roamers goin about, including myself :P I usually TRY to solo roam or go with 1 or 2 or so ppl (Usually guildies) But prehaps ur not lookin in the right places… I usually roam whichever map looks quietest (Never EB, I detest the place), lest less chance of enemy (or friendly) zergs showing up.

Also to the 2 Kain Theives I 1v2ed on my Warrior, good fight! I nearly managed to win that one but alas… I couldn’t finish the 2nd thief when I got one downed before u got in a last backstab… so close

Lol, I can say on instances where I’ve fought them when we’ve outnumbered them, they aren’t ones to back out of it unless it actually looks hopeless numberwise and times I’ve been caught alone or generally outnumbered by them well… let’s just say it never usually ends well for me… At times it can be frustrating in those times, but it’s WvW. In times I do ever catch a BS 1v1 tho, it’s usually a very entertaining fight I have to use all my focus for. :P I’d like some duels to help better myself on well… whatever I feel like getting up, tho I usually suck in duel settings >.< My comfort zone is usually fighting for my life haha xD

Edit: Dunno who it was yesterday, but I had a fun time yesterday fighting one of your warriors in Hellfire armor on my guardian, that was till randoms intervened, and I had a blast seeing how long I’d last on in a 1v3 against 3 BS after my comrades died at the ruins :P

There’s an exploit in that enemy players are able to res the mesmer through the water gate of Bay and then later on portal a zerg in through outer. It’s pretty highly abusable and frowned upon, and who knows if Anet is working on a fix for that. More info here:

In my point of view as a GoM, based on recent events, ofc we wouldn’t want both teams to win at this point over the other, as most GoM see it this way;

For FC: If it weren’t for the fact that we got double teamed yesterday by two simultaneous golem rushes on our Hills and Bay, we could have stopped DH from capping our Hills and holding it and would have been in a better off position to defend ourselves, benefiting FC. If FC loses, it will partially be their fault for putting GoM in such a position where DH is getting “easy points” from us. Yeah, we see FC make multiple attempts to stop DH in our BLs, but they wouldn’t have to if they let us defend ourselves from the beginning. They should have super focused DH to prevent DH from super focusing on us again. Bad strategy.

For DH: For all the grief caused the last two days by them focusing GoM and not leaving us alone for one moment, I’m certain most of GoM is highly frustrated at your server. Most of them view you as taking the “easy way” to win the matchup to hit the weaker guy and hold it, and including me on when I say this, but that’s not a very respectable way to win a match. You barely if ever from your main zerg decided to DENY FC points by hitting them directly instead of ticking higher off the lesser server. Its called leeching.(I’m not saying this strategy isn’t valid, but it’s highly frowned upon) I hope DH will be ready for some of the hate this will ensue in the future.

Colt lol, how many times will Dh players/FC players have to tell you, we’ve repeatedly assaulted the keeps in their BL. Over, and over, and over, ninja attempts, zerg attempts, golem rushes, etc… We tried doing the exact same thing to FC that we’re doing to you now. They didn’t let us.

I’m sorry, I get that it’s frustrating to get hit so hard and lose your chances at first/second… Especially since the killing blow only occurred (in your view) because of a 2v1. But, we’ve been targeting both servers. I mean, before yesterday, how many times had GoM/FC taking our BL in full? Many times. Suddenly, when we do it but are more successful and actually try to hold it, we’re villains beating up on poor GoM.

Oh no, don’t get me wrong, I am seeing this action for myself, and as I said, your strategy is valid, but I’m mainly going off of what I hear via map chat for the BLs and LA chat for GoM anyways. Everyone’s been super frustrated, tho when I got to that point, I just roamed around and saw these things, so the above opinion isn’t really just my own. It’s easy to blame others ofc, tho our defense could be better too, as we often beat ourselves up over it later on. As for me, I’ll take any of my frustrations left roaming and hoping I don’t get ganged on repeatedly as I did last night haha.

Ok, yesterday I was mainly speaking from frustration from what happened yesterday with DH holding our Hills and super focusing us, and thanks for not retaliating back in kind off of what I said, as I realize, yesterday that made sense what DH did to us. Today however, I’m seeing DH up to the same antics after we got simultaneously zerged by FC and DH on our Bay and Hills keeps and it looks like DH is intent to make a repeat from last night… only difference is, DH is now in 2nd, and FC is now focusing you guys at the same time, yet you continue to insist on focusing us for “easy points” while your land is getting hit by FC still has about the same PPT… That pretty much leaves u with nothing to gain this time. I fail to see the reasonings to repeat the same thing. You’re not going to win focusing GoM, unless you’re further solidifying your 2nd place spot, I can see that :P

Funny, we just defended our Hills against multiple golem rushes with around the same amount of golems just about an hour ago :P I couldn’t even load all of the golems on my screen since there were quite a few foot solders at the time… I’ll be kitten ed if I’d let something like yesterday happen again >.<

Yes the double teaming is fairly obvious. I think they decided to take advantage of the fact that some of the PVE’ers moved off of WvW to do the new content.

I honestly don’t believe it’s a case of double teaming in this case. The thing is DH is BLATENTLY focusing GoM on all fronts all day and barely doing a thing to FC, and we’ve largely been unable to retaliate due to whatever reasons of communication, lower numbers… or whatever. Yes, that’s largely our fault on that part, but it still doesn’t rectify the obvious focus DH has for us now. For whatever reason we made them mad enough to do such a thing is beyond me, but up until this point the matchup was fun until this poor show from DH… I’m highly disappointed.

So uh… when’s DH gonna GTFO our BLs and start attackin FC again and when’s FC gonna even try to attack DH as well? It’s literally been like this all day, and it’s lookin real petty on DH. If this keeps up DH might win simply by focusing and leeching points off of GoM, which will leave a real sour taste in my mouth…

(Not trying to sound like I’m raging, but I haven’t seen much action between FC and DH all night, and it’s lookin really suspicious.)

Had one HELL of a fight against a 10ish FC group that just wouldn’t end at Vale in GoM BLs! Prolly my most fun battle I ever had there :P Altho it took so long apparently some of ours cleaned up our BLs while we were fighting, but very fun stuff!

I was there on my day 1 engi! you guys had so many warriors we didnt know who to focus , it was alot of fun!

As I heard from Jesse, but you guys had a lot of thieves too >.< We successfully down one person; 2 shadow refuges would pop over them :P Still one unforgettable fight there :P Was a great test to the survivability of my new guardian build and I say it passed with flying colors in that fight! xD

Also curious to see with this matchup I’m seeing a large number of necros running about… specially from the DH side of things… all I have to say is; curse your condi bombs… curse you. I can’t find a toon that can successfully cleanse like 3 Signet of Spites and Epidemics…

Match is still pretty close, but it’s starting to look like we’re pulling away with it! One of the best matchups I had so far, good fun to be had whether roaming or zerging. Had a great fight with an FC [KRAK] thief that I was trying to stop from taking the south camp in FC’s BLs on my mesmer! Also had a somewhat enjoyable fight with a DH [SFX] engi on engi fight. It was hard as hell getting one of u to 1v1 me without getting ganked by 2 or 3 more of em… that was the main reason why I kept coming back to try and having to run when getting ganked on by 3 or 4 of u. We wound up downing each other at almost the same time to where I get planted by 2 of ur groupies, but good fight nonetheless.

Also, I don’t remember GoM having EB cues for a while, but it’s almost a daily occurrence now… sometimes even BLs are cued when we’re on the attack, lol.

I’ve had people chase me down before and try to kill me, even after running for a while. Sometimes I escape, sometimes I don’t. I don’t go around calling an entire server pathetic though.

I usually enjoy when people chase me arounda map… sometimes anyways. xD If it’s a zerg chasing, usually I try to let them chase me till there’s maybe 1 or 2 or 3 left chasing, then I turn and fight and attempt to make em’ pay :P Anything above a 1v3 I usually don’t even try ._.

Either he has a buddy that’s similarly dressed or he managed to reflect the final attack of a mesmer’s scepter chain, thus making a clone of himself. It’s happened to me rarely on my engi when using my Magnetic Shield. He might have timed Dagger Storm right when you did that.

Overall I had a nice week of fights this week. Good memorable fights when roaming, zerging/getting zerged, etc. Strangely enough I haven’t gotten in any duels with anyone tho… Hopefully we matchup in the seasons again soon so I could get the chance to!

What I won’t miss is DR’s TRON guild tho… most of ur guys have been incredibly obnoxious most of the time I ever encounter you guys. I dunno if there’s been a time where we wouldn’t get /laughed at or jumped on by a TRON if we get outnumbered in a fight. Trust me, you aren’t all THAT good to have such egos. By yourselves most of them prolly aren’t that great players… who knows. Just most of my experiences with them have been downright unpleasant this week.

Also, 2+camp vs 5 of DR and we wipe u, u come back with 7+ when we were just talking and ur warrior /laughs… c’mon… u that bad that you need to laugh behind ur numbers without any provocation?

Then again I’ve seen that a lot more than usual on all sides of the servers. I for one don’t see the point in disrespecting the opponent unless disrespected on first… or just seeing something ridiculous or unnecessary. Let’s keep the matchup clean, aye?

Funny enough this is the exact route I took as well then I mained my ele (I still do main the ele) but for WvW roaming, my engi just seems more survivable, as its defensive and offensive traits just mesh together more fluidly, and the no CD on kit swapping REALLY makes breaking/entering new combo chains really fluid, like an ELE should be able to do too… In zergs I still prefer the ele for its numerous offensive AND defensive utilities with combo fields and massive AoEs, but for roaming, with my engi’s current condi/support tank build it is vastly superior in survivability and dmg spikes (against players anyways) to my ele. If only ele attune switching wasn’t as rigid, I’d have no complaints.

Twice the healthpool as most eles, kittenton of heals, what’s not to love?

Had some great times commanding on offense in AR and DR BLs and some great fights! Has been fun dodging some mega zergs too on either side, but the 3 way fight we had at Lake tower in AR BLs holds a special place in my heart for this match xD Also had a nice 3 way steal of AR’s Bay sometime before that, but all in all, great fights!

Let the games begin!!! So far great starting matchup for the 1st week! Let’s have a blast! So far I’m having one! Seeing lots of new faces too!

Also it’s not so much of the fact these things happen really, it’s just the conduct of the opposing team via bad sportsmanship (The spam sitting/laughing and seige throwing) when killing 1 or 2 people with like way more numbers that is pretty questionable. /shrug.

I feel sorry for NSP. They are tanking to be in Bronze, and I can safely say that +600 for two weeks straight on SBI was boring. I have had more fun this week getting rolled by SoR than the past 2 weeks of rolling.

Looks like SBI might slip down into silver, unless we somehow hold onto a gold spot during the week. Either way it is a tough spot to be in. Roll or be rolled.

NSP, I know that not all of you are tanking, and there are competitors on every sever. But, for the ones that are, I would advise you to stop. Rolling servers gets boring.

It’s Anet’s version of The Biggest Loser. NSP vs. HoD vs. Kaineng. Right now, NSP is winning at losing, but man Kaineng is trying hard! Except, just like in all good “reality” TV, the producer (Anet) has attempted to influence the outcome by pushing a T5 server down to T8 in the last match. Oooo…..the drama!! Thanks Anet. >:(

Honestly, we faced kaineng recently and they weren’t really that stacked anymore. Some of them might be trying to tank, but, most likely they suffered too many transfers to be competitive anymore.

Kaineng should still be roflstomping HoD, but since HoD is one of the contenders in The Biggest Loser, you get the Loser competition.

Ebay should toss a wrench into their plans and go PvE this week. It’s not like the WvW’ing is gonna be any fun, unless they like sitting in towers for days on end with no one to fight.

On the contrary, the reason why Kaineng is not ROFLstomping compared to HoD is because they seem to be losing a LOT of their ppl and guilds from ppl transferring out of their server. That and idn if it’s the majority, but EB seems to be focusing largely on Kaineng since they see that as well and and want to push them down to Bronze. That’s not to say the rest of Kaineng are purposefully tanking which they some could possibly be doing too, but it’s definitely apparent HoD/NSP are purposefully doing so, albeit for the totally wrong reasons.

If things keep up the way they are now, it’s lookin like Kain might definitely stay at the bottom of the silver pot… This whole week of who can tank worst is making this week EXTREMELY boring… Best of luck to whoever eeks out a loss to Bronze League. -.-

Kinda sucks that there actually does seem to be a lot less activity going on in WvW from the opposition… from NSP’s side especially… it’s killing the roaming vibe as GoM seems to be rolling things at the current moment =/ I like the matchups for the fights, but this whole “tanking” thing going about for the leagues coming up is definitely a buzzkill. I know us 3 can do wonderful things against each other, but if nobody’s even trying then… it’s a buzzkill, to say the least.

I think my favorite kitten moments when using my Ranger was using my sword auto attack on an enemy by a cliff, and after its killed my sword chain would continue moving me forward, throwing me off the cliff to my death… funny stuff xD (That’s happened to me on more than one occasion)

To the two [LIFE] SF Necro and Ranger, please dance on my body more after running from me when I catch you alone in a 1v1, but having to 1v2 me to kill me.

Funny enough I’ve been actively thinking of a build similar to yours, however mine is more on the offensive side. Your thought of build seems like it would have craaaazy amount of endurance regen, but to me it kinda focuses on it a tiny too much.

Air: Zephyr’s Focus usually lasts long enough to nearly refill 50% of your endurance with Air 1 in scepter or an Ether Renewal cast (Assuming you use that heal). If you go 30 in Air for the Fresh Air trait than restoring your endurance via Air 1 should be a non-issue.

Arcana: Vigorous Scepter doesn’t really help with endurance regen very much to make a big difference over other choices (20% faster endurance regen IIRC basically getting 1 dodge per 8s instead of 10s)… With an energy sigil too and burst endurance regen with arcane skills and vigor procs, that trait will likely get outshined by all that. With the Arcana line in general it’s a tiny unnecessary to me to have it for the attune CD since the Foci skills generally have high CDs (cept for the water ones) that you’ll likely see 2 or 3 attune swaps to that element before the Foci skills become available again. Still, Evasive Arcana could see a good use with a build like this though. Still, it’s up to you, this does seem solid tho xD

I’m gonna from here on out offer some other options that might help:

Earth: In conjunction with Zephyr’s Focus, try out Obsidian Focus, for an extra 170 toughness while channeling a skill. If going further down the earth tree you could look at either 1 or 2 traits: Geomancer’s Alacrity to reduce Earth skill CD so you can pop invulnerability every 40s instead of every 50s. There’s also Rock Solid for 2s of stability on earth swap, for ensuring you get most of your Ether Renewal heal in.

Air: If sticking with the Arcane skills, Arcane Lightning would be a nice damage boost for you to use, otherwise Bolt to the Heart is a nice skill to pick up.

Water: 15 points in this gives you a good heal when swapping to water. Furthermore you could trait to remove a condition on water attune swap or (as you probably already did) use the Soothing Disruption trait for regen and vigor on cantrip use. If you decide to stray from the Arcana line, going into at least 20 is nice for cantrip CD as well.

You COULD get traveler runes instead and switch out Air Signet for Armor of Earth as well with this.

IMHO, the main thing that needs to be reworked for eles is base attune swap CD. Instead of making it an abysmally long 16 or so second cooldown from attune swap, they should take it at the most down to 10 seconds base cooldown to at least make attune dancing more fluid instead of having to depend on the Arcana trait line to have these effects. This is ESPECIALLY true for any D/D ele having being stuck with cookie cutter x/x/x/x/30 builds. Each attune set has 4 separate skills with their own CDs that are hard to abuse, so why be stuck on one attunement auto attacking when/if you spent your attune swaps/skills? I understand there are some traits that take advantage of various effects when attune swapping, especially concerning the 15th point trait in the Fire/Air/Earth/Water lines, but these could be nerfed to scale with the swap CD reduction. You could also reduce it so each point in the arcana line further reduces base swap CD by 1% per point applied, maxing out at 30% base CD reduction, or 7s per attune swap CD. All I REALLY want to see out of eles are more fluidity of being able to swap attunements without depending on that kitten able arcana trait line! Engineers can do this with virtually no repercussions at all (And which is why I picked up and got great at my engi already) So what’s keeping elementalists back with its shortcomings in that regard?
