Edit: Yeah… just got trampled by the 25+ zerg that it took to get our Bay in SF BL, rofl. We had 3 defenders holding off against 5+ AR with 2 golems, then the zerg grew… and grew… and grew… eventually getting to a big zerg >.<

So… what did everyone do while the WvW servers were down? I made me a WvW ready Warrior :P How bout everyone else?

Nothin makes a good WvW like a couple ppl gathering around a bonfire sharing stories across enemy lines about moa lore :P

Just to let you know, there has been PVE commanders on all day commanding the fairweathers. I may be wrong, but i dont think i saw a single one of our regular commanders on. So yes there was some pretty bad zerging going on (in EB atleast).

Now that you mention it most SF tags I see are a mesh of guild tags I’ve never seen before, that and I’m seeing a bunch of low rank commanders… that could be it, I hope… I usually roam BL maps, usually SF’s since I have a pretty good track record of finding 1v1 and 1v2 or 1v3 fights there, and the occasional zerg chase is nice :P

Idn what this is all about but the guys u fought in your video are clearly from SF and not GoM… still funny stuff. I’m pretty sure if u met a lot of our GoM roamers they’d give you generally better entertainment A certain fireworks wielding thief comes to mind…

Lol wow, I had a pretty “fun” time in SF BLs. Me and maybe 5 others (eventually dwindled down to 3 of us) held ur Briar tower for a good while, and had fun fighting and killing multiple SF against mostly outnumbered odds most of the time xD (Kinda got weak when they started to use ACs, Trebs, Cannons and Guards to try to kill us 3 tho… =/) Still, when you finally got to get Briar, I was amazed how many SF it took to drive us 3 out of the tower… Couldn’t beat us 3v5 or 6 but send a 15-20 man zerg to finally drive 3 ppl out… (If anyone speculates accurate numbers from the screenshots, there were more in the back of them but I couldn’t take good screenshots in the middle of getting chased >.<) I’m honored 3 GoM needed so much attention from SF. :P (Btw, nothing personal, but it was funny pulling their commander into the legendary guards when we got chased to spawn afterwards :P)

Also, to the thief in my last screenshot, you are THE worst WvWer I’ve ever seen. You NEVER attacked me unless u had guards or another player helping u and if u didn’t, you’d run away into the camp if it was 1v1, AND u gank me in the middle of dueling another SF when you SAW us bow. Even worse you fully upgrade the camp and build a ballista and hide behind it for ONE person. C’mon, I’m not THAT good to be that big a threat… Did he zerg to get to Legend rank?

I’m very sure SF can provide some good fights when roaming, but man, tonight kinda made a bad first impression on me… Bring on the good and even fights tomorrow night hopefully! <3

I do run a condi build for my thief sometimes, but it’s more the traditional bleed-you-to-death type than 44444 to win >.> I avoid using meta builds when possible, or make variations of my own.

There’s so many things wrong with this post I don’t know where to even begin…

First: It was a fellow DH of yours who said said comment about being uncoordinated. Nobody from GoM even talked crap about DH’s zerg quality… least not since Quala’s post about a specific zerg, but that =/= the whole of DH’s zerg skill, nor ours, especially as far as EB is concerned; it’s a silly place >.>

Second: As pictures speak louder than just speculation from one person, based on the pics Tom posted, it actually looks like we had even or less numbers than ur zerg anyways. As I wasn’t there to verify the accuracy, from a neutral standpoint I’d have to side with Tom on that, in that you over-exaggerated your story… that and when the hell does GoM pull a 50+ man zerg nowadays? o_0

Third: I know you don’t speak for the whole server when you say what u did, but chest bumping about beating us while you’re on a server with clearly superior numbers to the other two to leave our PPT at +0… really is making you look bad. Personally I’m in this for the fun fights! I don’t care THAT much about PPT right now, in that both AR and DH are both here and both giving us good fights. Isn’t that what gaming is all about?

I love following huge DH zergs and waiting for one guy to lose his swiftness and fall behind, then destroy him in a couple seconds and watch as the zerg lets their teammate fall as they PvD to victory.

I usually wind up doing it the other way around, I’ll sometimes let a group or zerg chase me until they get me or there’s only a few persistent ones left chasing me, then I turn and fight back :P

Well, I do know that we have a lot of zerging going on and have unfortunately noticed spawn camping, but I roam around solo all the time on DH BL. I’ve dueled a ton of GoM folks these past two nights and have a ton of fun. Namely [RH], [FGJ], and [IP] which were all quite a bit of fun. If you’re looking for duels you can often find me in the south area of DH BL during the U.S. night time. Just give me a bow and we’ll give it a go!

I wanted to duel you again as well but I let others get the chance before me, but by then you left, haha. I’m pretty sure we’ll meet up again soon enough, as I usually roam BL maps at night anyways xD Nothin against u guys when me, my guildie roam buddy and Ororo (The [IP] mesmer) trioed Briar, but we simply took it mainly to bring some DH over since we were seeing nothing camp capping and they didnt disappoint tonight! :P Lookin forward to moar fights!

Very mixed opinions myself.

Likes: New area to explore; a roamer’s paradise!
Plenty of nooks and crannies to sneak up on ppl or escape if need be.
More to do in WvW, on an sPvP scale.

Dislikes: There seems to be quite a bit more lag in the ruins area now. Might also be a bit tougher wading through the ruins with a zerg for a fast response to a threat across the ruins.
The GOD AWFULLY OP BUFFS… Even as a roamer, roaming on another BL where your server isn’t well… In the best of shapes with coverage, this is gonna put us at even more of a disadvantage now. Please remove this buff. Ppl no longer win fights in roaming fights by sheer skill anymore…

If not for the buff I’d be 100% for this update, but this buff completely turns me off… So I have to say no for now.

Ty SO much for the duels La Hermandad [LH] from SF! You guys definitely made the matchup funner for me, even tho I didnt even roam all day b/c of the duels xD Fun stuff!

Bleh… today was a sad day to solo/duo roam on the SF and Kain BL maps… either the maps were boringly empty with no opposition to camp capping or I’d get jumped by 4+ ppl =/ (Not making a whine about it, it’s just less frequent good fights than I’m used to partaking in xD) Maybe I’ll have better luck when the new BL revamp goes live tomorrow.

One good point I did have today was a nice 2v2 fight with a RUN and PWN Engi/Warrior pair with my guildie

Edit: Funnily enough right after I posted this, roaming the backlines of the Kain assault on SF’s BLs I had some good 1v2s and 1v1s :P One of which snowballed to a 1v3+sentry then a 1v5. That was a grande chase to my spawn tho, couldnt handle all the adds, I tried >.<

For all the grief we got from SF for zerging our BLs for maybe 10+ hours, this picture shortly after definitely brought a smile to my face xD Still, I cant deny that I had a LOT of fun fighting each battle we had today to both SF AND Kaineng. Such fast paced action and never a dull moment I ever had in WvW today. Keep em coming!

Is Kaineng running a karma train or something this morning? (I don’t mean that as an insult btw) They had a 30+ zerg that was pretty much steamrolling everything. We only had about 4 defenders on map when they came to the GoM BLs and took things w/o much resistance despite a few of us valiantly trying :P When they came to our Garrison quickly after getting Hills, we managed to quickly fend the zerg off with 4 or 5 defenders, outnumbered buff suddenly disappears then the zerg apparently poofed back to SF BLs to color it totally green for the 2nd or 3rd time I seen tonight. Dunno, kinda weirded me out that such a big zerg decided to go somewhere else entirely when met with somewhat of a resistance when if they really wanted to they prolly coulda wore us out pretty well with so few defenders xD

Another great fight to you guys SF at our Garrison! I hope we have more of battles like those soon! Really wasn’t expecting the 2nd push when we got u guys to outer again xD

Great fun roaming tonight!! Ty to all the FC and AR groups I ran into with either my guildie or a random or few.

Just two things I wanna mention tho, to the 3 FC that we fought by south camp, it was a nice 2v3 we had but why retreat to the camp to build two ballistas against 2 ppl? That’s pretty much why I /laughed, but it was a fun challenge to beat you guys out of the camp with siege and all :P

Also to the 2 AR I also fought at the south camp when I was with 3 others. We weren’t all that aware of the supervisor buffs so you got my 3 companions pretty quick, and got in a /laugh, but I got the last laugh getting you guys outside of the camp

Great stuffs so far with this matchup! Hopefully I’ll have much more time to roam

Idn, FC and AR seem to have their share of ppl who do this too…

So yeah… seeing some wierd [HP] activity myself. They seem to have speed/jump hacked their way into 3 of our towers in our Borderlands w/o seige and capped them. Please report if you see hacking activity from any Hard Peen [HP] from FC, it’s highly ruining WvW gameplay for everyone, and I’d hate for FC’s reputation to be sullied for their actions.

Lol this new perplexity rune meta is getting out of hand when roaming… To the guildless AR P/P thief I had the displeasure of running into a lot in our BLs, your headshot spamming build is terribly cheap and you know it -.-

Hello old buddies from 2 weeks ago! This oughta be an excitable match with not much zerging

Good fun in playing “Ring Around the BLs” in NSP just earlier :P At first we were back capping each other at an even pace but eventually caught up to me xD Ty for the WXP and the duels afterwards! NSP, even tho a lot of your roamers can be a pain to deal with, they also bring pretty good fun times as well! Hopefully we’ll meet each other again when we’re more… Lively!

Ported back to GoM BLs to see half of our stuff taken by ET (No surprise there), soon as I got out of the loading screen I was greeted by a few golems in my face (Again no surprise) with maybe 4 or 5 defenders against maybe 10ish… Ah well. I wish you better luck fighting against other higher tier servers where that stuff won’t pass. Same regards to your roamers too ET, altho I mostly met with BS roamers whereas I usually solo or run with a group of lesser numbers, but nonetheless a persistant bunch.

You 3 kiddies are laughable, maybe they left you cause you were all busy being too smart to win for the server. :o

1) Read my last post in response to said comment. I agreed on his standpoint, so no need to beat a dead horse.
2) Who cared about them being upgraded? I dont remember anyone griping over that. Tho I have to say, easy points are easy points I guess. It’s just to most other people, it’s making it look like you guys are taking the easier way out by constantly “PvDing” our Borderlands. Even ppl in NSP see that. NSP wants a challenge too!
3) Server ranks are near meaningless with this new matchup system. Next match you could be pitted against AR and DR, kick their kitten and STILL lose rank, where we could face DH and IoJ, get our butts kicked, and STILL gain rank, and overtake u in rank. I lol at that logic.
4) GoM hasn’t started from that high of a rank to start freefalling as we are now compared to the other servers. We still have some PuGs, and a few organized guild groups, but as I said on a previous post, it’s not counting for much in this match against two servers with superior numbers in WvW at most times. It’s mainly a matter of time before the PuGs get disinterested totally at this rate.
5) GoM’s been through plenty of times where we’ve been outmanned before, so kindly get off your high horse thinking we’re total greenhorns about it. Even when outmanned, I fight as I did tonight. (Can even read chat log in 3rd screen for verification) Hell, I kept running even till my armor broke >.>

The excuse “X server is a PvE server” is overused… I recall FC saying that when they first lost #23 to ET (the week I came to ET). GoM used the same excuse when they dropped to T8 and lost (saying it was SAB fault). HoD used the same excuse when they didn’t caused the (Ho)Domination of T8 they promissed. The only servers that aren’t focused on PvE are gnashing each other for the first place (JQ/SoR/BG). Even the Tarnished Coast (which is the #4) is a PvE based server (They love Dolyak parades and RP stuff), so anything under that cannot use the excuse of “PvE based”.

PvE events dent WvW population? Yes, they definetly do… But it will happen on DR, on ET, on IoJ, on anyone down here… The only thing is that IoJ actually have more people even without the guys that are killing Scarlet minions. So let us (not only DR) stop pretending that Clockwork Chaos is the reason that we are “losing”, and try to have fun with the population imbalance we have been put against.

Yeah, I have to agree. We’re nearly ALL PvE servers. ET didn’t stay at #23/24 for nearly a year after Ruinous and others left without being a “PvE” server—and even now, at any given moment, any commander on ET would love to have the number of players in WvW that a Scarlet’s Minions event draws. Big PvE events on ET have nearly always drawn enough players to thoroughly zerg the WvW maps if they had been there instead (though there are times of day when even that’s not true, and our population limits show).

Yes, interest in WvW DOES matter, of course. Organization and focus matter more.

I agree with the above post as well. I often come to LA to see a sea of names and wonder what the heck everyone is doing there, and also looking back at accidentally joining a scarlet event while exploring, I was half looking for orange battle swords to appear on the map for as many people were there in the map xD

At the current moment, there’s little incentive for said PvEers to WvW simply b/c of the lack of… Well, content and rewards, at least not as fast compared to PvE content.

As for the last sentence on organization and focus, our more organized WvW guilds left us mainly because of said reasons that most of us seem to be stuck on the mindset of PvE content and that even in WvW a lot of our randoms tend to be really unorganized and that they shouldered the weight of GoM’s WvW too much. As a result GoM has very few organized WvW groups left. It’s pretty much a combination of both things that seem to be crippling our server badly.

We actually had all 3 WPs, but then a little thing called sleep came in and ET usually strikes us while we’re away anyways. With all the transfers out too, coverage wars aren’t in our favor.

Great fights in GoM Borderlands all around today! Finally got rid of those ugly WPs in our BLs and ASH and the rest of the server really stepped up in coordination and communication. Really was beautiful stuff seeing us doing as well as we did, even with bouncing back and forth between Bay and Hills against both groups trying to retake them!

Also to the 10ish ET group that tried to get our Bay then tried to go for our Garrison, we have been losing our BLs a lot lately, but c’mon… It’s not THAT easy to just simply rush a keep and take it as you please. After getting zerged at Lake and Bay, why take a 10 man straight to a near fully upgraded Garrison? At least Bay made sense since it was still paper.
