Enjoyed the video, Loved your use of the focus skill
The cards are from different vendors, mine was the ‘cheaper’ one. dont recall the exact vendors for each. The freeze/crash thing just happened again. Persistantly low fps too.
Still need assistance with this if anyone has any idea what is going on.
So just to compare, this is my DX diag, on a system where the game runs fine

My fiancee and I fairly recently got a upgrade to both of our machines. They are both very similar with the exception of the case, and perhaps the fan setup. My game runs great, hers does not. She semi frequently gets blacks screens / lockups. The black screens would result in a crash until I toned down her settings. However, I am able to run this at max with no problem. This is on a windows x64 OS, her specs are below, pulled from DXdiag.
I have tried the fixes in the stickied threads, I have googled, I have tried tweaking advanced settings, I have downloaded speedfan and cpuz and watched the internal temperatures carefully while the game was running. The hottest ive seen the video card spike to was just under 60c however, we bought two new fans and it has not spiked there since. I have been bashing my head against this issue and nothing has worked. I am on her machine now, I can post the specs from my machine for comparison if anyone wants.
I would be extremely grateful if someone can help me get this sorted out.

I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.(5 points if ya know where that’s from )
DUNE.
Correct, sir!
so out of sheer curiosity, I thought I might see what I would do for a pure deathshroud spec. I may change the weapons up. but this is VERY tanky, and im actually pretty curious to try it out in spvp as well

Whoops looks like my other build got deleted. reposting it without the snark.
At this moment, this is what I am going for: http://tinyurl.com/cbsyz9m
really like the scepter/dagger combo combined with the staff, found it to be a blast in wvw as well. Looking forward to seeing how it does end game.
Could you please release a statement, however vague, about the direction you wish to take with this class and the bug fixes? The list of bugs is pretty extensive, and I feel that part of the frustration from a lot of users here is due to simply not knowing when what is broken shall be fixed. There is a lot of exaggeration out there, of course. However there is also a lot that needs fixing.
Any communication helps. Just let us know you are listening, like you did with stickying that rather nifty bug thread. A lot of folks will complain no matter what you do, it is a given. You give us a iwin button and people will tell you it has too long of a cooldown and makes asurans look too blue, or something. Please just throw us a bone and give us a vague idea that change is coming.
Thank you for your hard work and dedication to this game.

For doofus the squirrel The thread is for necro builds. If you want to kitten and moan about the class there are several other threads with folks rehashing the same gripes over and over. Go join them.
I think this is the build everyone is playing. At least it is the one I’m playing since it is the most effective (in sPvP i mean).
I’ve tried to run Axe/Warhorn and Staff, but the damage output is unsatisfactory. Same with Dagger/Warhorn. By the way, I feel the dagger quite strange since you have to stay in close range to autoattack and then you can go in medium range to use the other skills… Why this?
I am not sure, I think maybe it was meant to be mixed with other weapons. look how I combined the weapons in my most recent one. I kinda like the theory behind it, just a matter of seeing it in practice.
I have been toying with the idea of a pure melee/in your face necro with some minor life drain assistance, some decent escapes/gap closers, etc and came up with this:
Not too sure if it uses anything that is terribly bugged, but it should have pretty decently high damage output. Would like to test it and see how it does in Heart of the Mist.
I would love to see an unedited combat log screenshot of pistolwhip hitting for 20k damage.
Since fear is a spell, I could see how the phrase ‘nearby foes fear you’ could be interpreted as ‘nearby foes cast fear on you’
Grammatically it works either way. The intended context is ‘nearby foes are afraid of you’.
I understand Necromancer is Nekromancer. It should (or supposed to be, i was kind of dissapointed) a dark Wizard tipe of class. But thats not the fact in Gw2. (or not fully atleast)
But i also have to point out : Its Anet that hints to the “stealth assasin” oriented Nekromancy (er) .
So thats why i ask. Why cant we see more abaut it then?
…
wat
Repeating dungeon story modes gives a fair amount of money at the end plus a bag full of loot. You can run through Orr (bag of lvl 80 drops, event rewards), play wvw (TONS of events, thus money) or just take advantage of the trading post (pricecheck everything you don’t need, some people may want to pay well for stuff you’d vendor otherways).
EDIT:
also, if you can afford it, magic find helps a little.
repeating story modes no longer gives ya the money
Sadly, the necromancer forums are not the best place to get advice on necromancers. Half the class forums here are just filled with folks like this thread. They spec 30 points deep into Whine, and never look back.
Play with one of the build editors some (I recommend gw2skills.net) If you like DD, I recommend focusing on a dagger/X lifesteal spec, con damage, i think scepter/dagger + staff works quite well. play around with it in spvp some to get a feel for what a end game build feels like. Pretty much the best way to test out a class.
Unfortunately, if you listen to these forums you would think that every single one of the professions was underpowered and destroyed by everyone and their puppy.
Basically, take this post and divide it by all the complaints. Your conclusion should be something to the effect of, “this class isn’t unplayable, but with less effort I could achieve greater results with another class”.
The complaining has gotten a little out of control, but the white knights are just as detrimental to noobies and potential fixes to our class.
Strangely, you don’t often see the balance of ‘yes, this class has trouble, and yes there are a lot of skill bugs, but it also has great potential and is a blast to play.’
You either get ‘Necro is fine L2P’
or ‘Necro is absolutely the worst class to ever exist since the NPC’
or ‘What is guild wars, how did I get here. What is this I dont even’

you may have to copy and paste it, the forums dont seem to like the gw2skills.net site but its the only one I can use.
Try this? http://tinyurl.com/cbsyz9m
I have to admit, it would be pretty nifty to be the zombie apocalypse.
Interesting. This is going along the same lines that I intend to go, but with a focus on vitality instead of toughness. Looks to be pretty solid to me.
I saw the subject line and was going to come in here with a snarky one liner like ‘Well I guess anet should have asked you before implementing it’ but this is a pretty well thought out post and now I am rambling and should stop typing.
Here is what I have thus far:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/en/?fQEQNArYWjQaV6hbubM8JApHYfN0RPIe4kpK4OA;TsAg1Cqo+y8l4L7XuvkftwYEwEDA
the primary thoughts being Condition damage – precision – condition duration.
I am looking for a style viable for pve and wvw. not sure if I’d use this for spvp though, i think i’d go for a more drain centric build for that. I am pretty new to the class, but already know I really, really enjoy this weapon combo. Any suggestions for improvement?
Gusy how i mine for fish?
fellow warrior here: for the dagger twirly elite, I recommend just getting some distance. less effective the further you are, use the GS whirl/untargeted rush to put some distance between you two.
The 2h hammer control abilities should help if the thief is stealthing and trying to backstab, use the aoe control you have with that, and for the love of good keep moving. consider swapping out great justice for endure pain? pop it during one of their initiative dumps to stretch the fight out.
