I am actually kind of wanting to see how BG and SOS do against each other. They are completely different entities, and if BG has a few more numbers than they did before, I think BG might just pull the rug out from under SOS. SOS uses the big zerg, BG used some downright street fighting. Good luck to everyone.

Jedbacca is the latest commander perma banned for taking gold from HIS guild bank, and giving the gold to a guild member. thats 9 this week to fall victim to a faulty program. SOS lost a few of their commanders, now SBI.

He is also a new mini pet available from the gem store for 1million 221 gems.

Seems to me “exploit” implies you’re doing something wrong for gain. Romping around the Citadel seems to me like you’re just having fun with a broken game, not even looking for gain.

how did they get in the garrison? did they walk in? if they weren’t able to just enter in normally then its not intended. using terrain jumps like wallleaps are exploits.

and as for the continued 2v1 complaints in these threads its funny, while I was leading in EB yesterday it was amazing how helpful both SBI and JQ were being, SBI would push up into ogres so we would cap Anz and QL, then JQ would get angry and push back all the way down into bravost so we would ninja Mendons and durios/anz and so on. You made it fun never felt pressured the whole time I was leading

It saddens me that none of the CC will reply to this post. They are all over simple issues, but one with a real repercussion and overly sensitive issues will never be replied to. This is something that needs to be addressed broadly and given definitive boundaries. Tell us what we can or cant do. Dont case by case punish us with OVERLY excessive penalties. Give us guidelines other than read the COC.

moving gold from one player to another is with cause? so if I send someone in my guild gold, this is cause for permanent ban? which is happening many many times this week.

true Stei , BUT then what about the other 10+ people? There really is no stigma with walljumping anymore. the people doing it arent being punished, and more and more everyone’s doing it, to the point I’ve caught SOS commanders doing it. It’s just like why even worry anymore. I just post the pics to show anyone that’s misbehaving, on any server and move on.

I’ve never ever understood why have a chat filter then punish people for swearing. I’d understand if we were avoiding the filter by saying things like H 3 1 1, but if someone purposely disables their filter, they shouldn’t be allowed to carebear and tell on you. Then the 72 hour ban. OVERLY excessive.

I’m not sure how Anet detects Gold/Item RMT, but I do know that one way to find out would be to track the trades of botters. However it’s not like Anet are a bunch of soothsayers. Right now I’m too afraid to trade anything with anyone, just incase. Cause I don’t even know how the other people who appealed and got unbanned for false positive RMT ban got banned in the first place.

The naming policy. In regards to inappropriate names, that’s understandable. But as for trademark and copyright names, how does somebody know if it is or not? And what about the future? So what if “Loli Ruri” becomes a copyright name in the future? Am I going to get a 72 hour ban and a name change, cause somebody out there wanted to copyright my nickname? Maybe I should copyright it, and then when Anet forces a name change, I can fax them my copyright ownership papers LOL. Bam!

And as for real life names…… from what I remember about real life names is, every name is pretty much taken by a real person. Yep. this is an issue that comes up over and over. When asked for clarification, arena net employees state to read the EULA and CoC. its vague at best. basically arenanet can ban you at any time for any reason without recourse. My name, for instance, Cover Girl. I’ve had this name for 7 years with City of Heroes, another PlayNC game. It’s public domain and can’t be copy written. I’m waiting for the 72 hour ban and name change because they don’t understand the laws governing copy writes. Things like Tinkerbell.. Most people think Disney. Disney doesn’t own Tinkerbell… just the tiny blond hair, green dressed version you see today, but NOT the name.

I appreciate the feedback from the forum moderator, even though the moderators aren’t part of arena net and have no feedback in developing or resolving the issues we are having. I’m sure most of you agree that the 72 hour ban is overly excessive for a first time offense and that perma banning someone wrongly is egregious. I’ve been wanting to finish my legendary today, but am scared to move gold from the guild bank or my storage toon in fear of getting banned. I’m pretty sure we didn’t buy the game to live in this sort of shadow of impending doom 24/7.

I have a ticket opened from November 27th. and another from Dec 5th that have not been replied to or handled as of this date.

when it’s clearly NOT your fault, as in this case, where a guild leader takes out 60g from guild bank, to send to a guild officer to buy commander tag… and he is perma banned for doing it. then yes you can petition it and have it overturned by a real person at anet.. which takes a long time as there arent many real people that responds to the support tickets it seems.

So in the past week, over 9 Guild Leaders have been perma banned for “Gold Buying/Selling”. Most are restored after a lengthy petition session, but the issue is deeper than that. Why is anet allowing this to continue to happen? When a guild leader sends gold to his guild members, taken from their guild bank, it is apparently triggering an oversensitive automated system that flags him as a gold seller and auto bans him.

This sort of pull the trigger then sort it out later mentality is terrible. I don’t believe there is any way the CC or other anet employees can justify this as working as intended. It’s basically saying if you have any large amount of gold, which you worked for or earned… you can’t move it or else you will be punished immediately.

Can we get a fix for this? An apology to those involved? and some sort of word that it’s being addressed?

why is the first punishment given a 72 hour ban? does anyone else see this as overly excessive? why not start with a verbal warning (despite it being in the eula, the eula is vague and broad as shown in this thread already) or a 24 hour ban then moving up. players who are banned are not told what they are banned for.. just the standard, language or gold selling or toon name… but NO further details. how can we correct behavior if we don;t know what it was we got in trouble for to start with

I honestly can’t blame them. opening night, I spent 3 hours tied up with a small team trying to stop 3-4 SOS players from a few major SOS guilds from capping the garrison while using a variety of wall jumps.. got it all frapped before anyone cries foul. Yea, we stopped talking about it on the forums since it gets modded instantly, and the other servers say we are just whining, so maybe it’s true they grew tired of it and said can’t beat them, join them. It’s totally disheartening to work so hard and spend manpower and money upgrading something only to have it taken away in 2 minutes by someone cheating. You guys know the feeling. Each of the top 3 have cheaters. We are the servers people look up to, and this is the bs we pull. I’m embarrassed for all of us. Like, I don’t even know where to begin chastising, so I’m going to log in for the first time in almost a week and see what I can sort out before deciding if I’m throwing in the towel on this.

you say that like its unfair or imbalanced though. that’s how they designed the class. the class is NOT designed to face tank you.

if you can’t get over the fact that thieves can and will run away when needed, then you need to play a different game. or prepare for rebalancing. they’d probably let us 1 shot you if they took away our mobility or stealth.

I see from your other posts you are a thief, so I gather you’re super defensive that once thiefs get reworked. you wont be skilled enough to kill anyone, and since you are used to the broken thief, you wont know how to play other classes, and will ragequit. you should probably start learning how other classes work now for the inevitable
changes to thiefs.

This is the best quote ever about thiefs, and should be the end all. They have issues that need fixing. BUT they dont need to make thiefs laughable in a knee jerk reaction to complainers that dont even try. EVERY time I step in wvw, I seek out a solo thief and fight him to learn how, and learn what I can do better. Trial and Error. Now when I see a thief coming, I dont throw my hands up and scream then tab out to the forums.

I will agree thiefs need a rework. BUT in solo combat. I am downed 2/10 times if I stay and fight. Once you learn how thiefs work, as the OP and others have said. You can neutralize them really easily.

In fact, I killed a lvl 80 backstab thief with my lvl 14 Elementalist, by dodge rolling as SOON as I realized he was going to attack, then spamming meteor shower, lava font, and the baby meteor shower signet.

That’s what I’m saying also. The only siege that despawns are the trebuchets. I love building trebuchets and be able to counter catapults and even other trebutchets. So if you have this 30min timer on trebuchets, then please add it to all the other sieges, otherwise, I will fill the entire map with arrow carts

BUT you cant as there is a siege cap and once you get a certain amount, you are blocked from placing more.

Im starting to think that the people that work for arena net that respond to forum posts don’t play the game. Another employee told me to send an email to a particular address, which opens a support ticket, then told me to continue emailing, which opens more tickets. then told me 4 tickets were too excessive.

Sadly Jefzor you are correct. I don’t see wvw lasting much longer in its current state. There will always be people that play, sure, but the massive borderlands full top tiers that you saw at launch , and that we sometimes see today will be a thing of the past soon

the fix for this, is ridiculously simple. as is the terrain exploit for it. 1 minute 25 seconds from start area to inside the hills lord room.

Good fights everyone. was a pretty good feeling to see that SBI score flip to first place tonight. No reports of exploits after yesterdays fiasco was quickly busted.

arena net is miles and miles away from understanding the playerbase it has. they are following a very very dangerous road of “we know what’s best for you and we know what you want so obey us” mentality. WVW is the saving grace of this repetitive game, and they have stated that WVW is not a priority, and come FEB when they dont release anything worth doing, you will see another mass exodus of players.

something as simple as coming to the forums, or listening to players chat in map chat would go farther than deciding what’s best for us, then having us hate it and quit.
