I’m completely against the selling. mainly because I’ve had 2 different times now I’ve been suddenly kicked from a dungeon only to find a min later a group with the exact same group design is selling a spot for the final boss.

Thanks for all of your feedback. I am running 30/0/0/10/30, Berserker gear. In almost every other situation, I run a might stacking + LH build that I have seen on this forum (Neko’s guide, I believe).
I agree that Staff is weak, I just felt like I should be staying as far away as possible. I will try a S/F build.
Staying close to lupicus is the optimal option. If you however choose to range S/F should be a really safe alternative.

water fields help your team mate.
earth 3: reflect.the easiest lupi is x/focus. cos of whirling wind + earth focus.
I want to ask what are your traits? if you have at least 10 in arcane get the trait that gives vigor on crit. then you dont even need to put sigil of energy in your weap. I almost always put that trait on when I know I need alot of endurance.
ps: know lupi’s animation for all phases so you don’t waste your dodge.
Very bold claim, no just no, even with renewing stamina do take a sigil of energy if you’re gonna melee.

Had a decent attempt. 4 manned the first 2 (Ascalon and Snowblind) with a Warr/Warr/Ele/Necro, picked up a Warr for 3rd but got Grawl, and w/o reflect we couldn’t finish it. Trying again tomorrow.

Dagger focus for lupicus. Do use a sigil of energy though. If you mean the phase 2 AoE, yes that can be blocked using arcane shield. But focus swirling winds would be more efficient as you can have it up /40%^ of the AoE phases (given you don’t have spastics parading lupicus around that would significantly increase the percentage) and honestly staff is a terrible weapon for dungeons.

Summation of high risk concerns for elementalist.
Diamond Skin
We really love this trait as it opens up some very powerful potential in the earth line to run a defensive elementalist without relying on healing power. The strength of this build is going to be the ability to quickly string small heals together to maintain that condition resistance. I think it could see use in both high damage builds looking to avoid weakness and blind, as well as in defensive builds looking to tank condition heavy classes and condition heavy mobs. I think the big question here is the base health/armor of the elementalist. Of course if you are just an elementalist you just want us to raise these, but balance must work around some fixed things and profession health and armor are an important part of defining what a profession is so that we can create powerful tools that players can actively use to circumvent these weaknesses. In this case if this trait is not powerful enough to be a grandmaster, I believe the right answer is going to be to lower the threshold, not to increase elementalist base health.Aquamancer’s Alacrity
We moved this trait because all profession cooldown traits are in master tier, and because that is a good investment for this type of improvement. That being said, they may all not be powerful enough to warrant a master level triat right now, but I would rather increase the cooldown to 25% to get people to consider them than to have them be adept tier and allow elementalists to run all four of them.Cleansing Wave
This is the one I am most on the fence about of all of the elementalist changes. It is a borderline master level trait and I think a better solution would be to leave it at adept tier and instead of moving Soothing Wave (which is only moving because it is better to have a 100% worthless trait at adept tier rather than master tier) we would redesign Soothing Wave into something worthy of master level.Arcane Abatement
This is moving to adept tier because all of the fall damage traits are in that tier and in our opinion it doesn’t feel good to have to spend 20 points in a line for this kind of trait. Alacrity was the first choice to swap with it here because of the reasons stated above.Soothing Disruption vs Cantrip Mastery
This one was debated internally for a while as well. I think swapping these traits would also help build diversity as it would let you splash 10 points in water to get Cantrip recharge, but would make you really consider going into water magic for the Regen and Vigor which is much more flavorful. I would love to hear some elementalist thoughts on that potential change.Last but definitely not least.
Arcana
I see the logic in not wanting the two changes in this line to counter each other. Moving good adept traits to master level is contrary to reducing the need to spec into this line. That being said, Elemental Attunement is just a beast of a trait and could honestly be compared with most grandmaster traits. I think a good compromise would be to place Renewing Stamina back in the adept tier, placing is where the other professions get this type of trait, and instead move Final Shielding to the master tier where it could live alongside Arcane Retribution as two good choices in arcane builds that take Arcane Mastery in the adept tier. That could leave some interesting builds such as: 0/30/30/0/10 for fresh air, diamond skin, and renewing stamina. It also still leaves builds that put only 10 points in Arcana a chance to gain Protection by going 30 air for Tempest Defense, and 10 Earth for Elemental Shielding and still have 30 points leftover.I still believe there is work to be done at the grandmaster tier in Fire at the very minimum and that Air and Water are the only truly good grandmaster choice right now. There are also still a handful of just terrible traits that will still get looked at, but we felt like we were already bordering on changing too much.

really disagree with elemental attunement since its basically the CORE of the arcana line. but thanks for at least considering cleansing wave and renewing stamina.
It’s hard to really say for sure with such a big list of changes, but this looks more like an overall nerf than a buff. They pretty much gutted arcane and water, and certainly didn’t make up for it with the buffs to the other lines. Losing both cleansing wave and elemental attunement/renewing stamina is such a massive hit to survivability.
These guys don’t understand elementalists at all, and it’s a kitten ed shame. Just gotta wait for a mmo that’s more serious about its pvp to come out.
Looks more like a nerf to me aswell, harakiri to sustain rather. However i’m gonna let it sink in for a while, will arenanet be naive enough to pull these changes through is the question… Such a shame that this class is becoming rather stale it used to be so flashy.. Good thing christmas is on the horizon so we can trim the tree again.

Conclusion, you’re just mad that you couldn’t pin him down and finish him off, instead of coming up with a plan to trap and kill him you came to this terrible thread to feed it’s walls. Clap clap

It was an Open field fight, the thief was equipped with a Shortbow, Sword/Pistol. I was a d/d Ele, once the thief changed to Shortbow there is a range difference, especially since it was open field, the thief was kiting, while I was a sitting duck. I wanted a 1v1 but d/d Ele’s aren’t the “best” are ranged dps. As soon as I get close, the thief would Teleport away.
So whatever you said is invalid.
I’m just saying some of my experience with thieves, be it pro-thieves, shiet-thieves, whatever you want to call it. They do have much, much more teleports than an Ele does.

if they were to buff flamewall, a buff like this is gonna be so insiginificant that i would rather have Anet spend their resources on a useful buff instead. buffing for the sake of buffing isn’t gonna work.
and CMSTORM the wall would get the same treatment as the Mesmer curtain whereas it’s a Independent 3 stacks of might that can’t be stacked on top of, to make it even worse and more undesireable.

I think they made special recipes for each weapon and armor piece because those recipes were introduced to suck some oversupplied mats out of the market.
You had to exchange hard leather or silk scraps, for example. to get zephyr boxes, which mostly dropped those recipes.
If it was just the inscription, the insignia and the quartz crystal recipe, not much mats would have sinked in.

The problem with RTL was that ele had really high sustain to stick in a fight, then had mobility to get out then come right back.
They nerfed the sustain significantly, and eles mostly just melt, much faster than a real bunker: like guardian. After that, they nerfed the mobility too.
X/D ele can’t stick in the fight, and can’t get out, so they are just useless. This is why you see kamikaze burst eles see play: x/d can’t do anything else better than another class. Even general utility/support is better achieved with a guard or engie.
This won’t be fixed.
Tbh i don’t think a Rtl nerf revert would do much at this point. It’s the bigger picture that took the hit.

You need the celestial recipe for the conch. Celestial isn’t discovered like traditional pearl junk. The recipe can be bought from the TP for a premium price these days by a hauled market, once you learned the recipe the conch is automatically discovered. you’re welcome friend cheers!
