Why is it the only people I see complaining about queue times in NA T1 are from TC? Can’t speak for BG but the queues on JQ are relatively short if there is one during peek hours and people usually end up going to a different map to help while in queue.

My server is more than just one guild. Our guilds often work together whether on the same map or hitting different objectives on multiple maps. My server is more than just the guilds on it, many people who aren’t in big guilds and can’t field more than 5 still play a crucial role in the success of my server. My server is more than just a server, it’s a community—a diverse community made up of people from around the world. Removing server affinity from WvW would only destroy this community we worked so hard over the last two years to make.

A dynamic map limitation seems fine until server A decides to rage quit because they are losing, now servers B and C have to suffer and are unable to play.

Instead of trying to fix the imbalance which there is no viable solution for we need an adequate handicap for the servers which have a lesser population.

The day they institute GvG is the day they end WvW. Casual players who aren’t interested in hyper-competitive play would be left out in the cold. I suspect that’s the reason they haven’t done it yet.

You do realize that guilds do GvG’s already in OS? I’ve even heard of some GvG’s happening in EotM but getting both guilds on the same IP can be difficult. All people want is a GvG mode so guilds can GvG against each other regardless of which server they are on. This won’t have any affect on the casual player and won’t end WvW. If anything, it’ll bring old players back to the game.

Max dps build is 62006 going full zerk. If you’re running triple wells with chilling darkness you should be 44006 and only need to zerk until 30% crit chance then you can use valk stats for your remaining pieces. I run around 1880 armor and don’t have a problem surviving, staying alive is all about maintaining proper positioning.

Staff is very important and should be your main DPS weapon. Weapon damage affects the damage of your wells and the damage of your abilities in death shroud. The staff has the highest base weapon damage for necromancers. Putting down staff #3 marks for added chill right before your wells also makes a difference—even more so when all your necros are doing it. You only need to have your axe/* out if you’re being harassed by a thief or need to use your axe #2 ability to burst someone down.

People who use third party software (e.g. speed hacks, fly hacks, etc..) to modify how they interact with the game are in violation of the End User License Agreement (EULA.) Violating the EULA can result in the user’s account being suspended. If you are not using any of the aforementioned programs and only using tools within the game provided by the game’s developers, you should not have your account suspended.

The the OP’s build: Not enough HP, too much armor, too much crit, lack of condition reduction, and no energy sigils. Also using incorrect traits for an old outdated 00662 build and has Save Yourselves slotted instead of Hold the Line.

Target Stats for Melee:
2k power unbuffed
2.8k-3k armor (3050 max before SIN)
17-18k HP Guard unbuffed
24-25k HP Warr unbuffed
30% Crit chance (can be buffed with oils)

Double energy sigils are a must when playing guardian and at least one (two preferred) on warrior.

A typical guardian (hammer) rotation goes:
Empower → Symbols/Line forward → Weapon Swap → Hammer Immobe → Hammer Blasts → Weapon Swap → Detonate Staff Orb → Empower

Having double energy sigils gives you a free dodge right before you swap to hammer going into a bomb and a third dodge as you weapon swap coming out of a bomb.

50% Crit Chance is the most effective before you start to receive diminishing returns which is why melee should gear for 30% since you receive an extra 20% from fury. If you are a guardian, you should try to get at least one shout warrior in your party.

You should always work out stability rotations with the other guardian(s) in your party. Also determine who will be running the Strength In Numbers trait. Only one guardian needs to run SIN, all others should be using Glacial Heart. The SIN guardian can optionally run GS over Hammer.

The problem with conditions are crowd control conditions and not damage conditions. How do you keep the enemy inside of a power necro’s well of suffering?

Immobilize
Chill
Cripple

These are the conditions which kill more than anything else in a large scale fight.

Before continuing to argue about target limitations. There is not a limit on the number of targets who can be damaged by an elementalist’s static field or unsteady ground when using the lightning rod trait. Go ahead and static a 60+ stack before they pop stab while traited for lightning rod, your screen will explode with numbers.

Your first time in WvW you probably didn’t have the right armor, sigils, runes, and traits. However, a build is easy to change. Your first time spending WvW rank points probably weren’t in the correct things you should max out first. Perhaps a trait reset consumable item costing 500 or so badges would be nice so players who made this mistake can fix it.

T1 servers in NA are world wide. We have nearly 24/7 coverage so it doesn’t matter when you play. I heard even T1 in EU only has EU coverage so you can only find fights for the 4 or so hours during prime time, could be mistaken though. If that’s true it would be quite a change for you coming to T1 NA.

You can pretty much keep the same gear for a zerg well build and swap a few utilities and traits around and have a roaming build. However, the lack of necro mobility might get you killed. As suggested previously, with a warhorn and pack runes you can achieve almost perma swiftness. For disengaging there’s always the flesh wurm you can summon and teleport to. Aside from sPvP bunker builds, most PvP builds are viable (with some tweaks) for roaming in WvW since they were designed for small scale combat.

If there’s an issue with multiple pins on the map then it sounds like an issue you need to work out within your own server community. Having multiple forces on a single map is a sound tactic to countering a single large force. With the new colored pins, your server can establish a color scheme for pins. Having different colors for public raids, private guild raids, scouts, and havoc groups can make it easier to identify which pin is doing what and which one you should go to. If there could only be a single pin on a map than the blobbing which most people hate would occur even more often. There are many reasons why having multiple pins is better than just one. If this is causing trouble for you then ask your server for guidance. If this is causing trouble for your server than you need to band together and come up with a solution. In the end, it’s all about communication and working together as a team to achieve a common goal.

Well, I only talked about zerg fights and how to survive covering GWEN meta classes. You’re not going to go toe-to-toe with an enemy melee train as a medi-guard, you will be dead on inc. It is perfectly fine to roam around and do small scale combat on a medi-guard.

Thieves have no place in a zerg fight however they are great to use for harassing the enemy backline. You should not have a shortbow out spamming #1 on the enemy melee train, you should be picking off that elementalist who gets out of position. Rangers since the infamous ranger patch have become one of the best hard counters to thieves. If you love playing a ranger, you can protect your backline from thieves (remember to sic ‘em.) If you don’t want to play the meta shout warrior build, you can play a backline destroyer and team up with your thief.

If zerg fights aren’t your thing there’s plenty of options available, whether you are a hardcore or casual player.

Condition builds are very common among roamers but they are absolutely useless in a zerg fight. If conditions are killing you in a zerg fight it’s because you either do not have a correct build or you are not avoiding damage. If you are playing melee you need to have condition reduction runes. The days of condition cleansing from guardians and warriors through the use of trooper runes is over. The best runes you can get for both classes are Hoelbrak runes. If those are too expensive and you are just a “PUG” I would suggest melandru.

If you play a guardian, you should be in the 00644 meta build in a party with another guardian doing the same. If you play a warrior, you should be in the 00464/00563 meta shout build (with hoelbrak or melandru runes) or running a 00644 stance build (still have FGJ for fury.)

If you are playing an ele or necro, your survivability comes from maintaining proper positioning. Elementalists who use the elemental attunement trait should get into parties with other elementalists using the trait. Necromancers should try to get into parties with at least two guardians and one warrior.

Due to the party member priority of boon sharing, it is very important to get into parties so you can receive boons.

I’m not going to get into guardian stab rotations but setting up a stability rotation within your party is extremely important. Also make sure you work out which guardian is using the Strength In Numbers trait and who will use purging flames first.

Through the proper use of condition reduction food (lemongrass), condition reduction runes (hoelbrak), and condition reduction utilities (purging flames) conditions won’t be a problem in a zerg fight. On top of all the condition reduction, warriors traited for quick breathing can remove crowd control conditions and convert conditions to boons. The Charge (warhorn #4) ability also affects up to 10 targets. This means not only your entire party, but five other people have crowd control conditions cleansed off them.

To add to survivability as a melee, you need to have an energy sigil on each weapon so you receive an extra dodge roll on weapon swap. It is import to know how to conserve your dodges so they are not wasted. Dodge rolling completely avoids incoming damage. Make sure you never dodge roll to try and catch up to your pin, always save your dodges to avoid damage.

Healing should come from blasting water fields and not the water field itself. This is why warriors use their hammer burst and warhorn #5 ability inside water fields. One of the reason why many guardians use a hammer over a greatsword is because of the low cooldown of the hammer blast finisher.

I see too many people with the, “well my build does this attitude.” It’s not what you do alone in a zerg fight, it’s what your entire group does together that matters. Guardians need to be weapon swapping and empowering together. Melee need to blast the same water field together. Necros need to be dropping their bombs together. It’s working together as a team that helps you survive fights and kill the enemy.

Make it contingent upon that guild using buffs to claim stuff, and sure. You should not be able to gain any sort of influence from just claiming, and leaving the camp/tower/keep/sm short on buffs. You want some benefit? Give some benefit first.

There’s an idea. Generate influence based on the number of buffs active for the claim. No buffs, no influence.

Your question seems a bit broad. There’s many different aspects from solo roaming, havoc, small scale combat, large group fights. Large scale fights are still centered around the GWEN meta (Guardian, Warrior, Elementalist, Necromancer) and have specific builds for each class.

For me that’s an average of (rounded to the nearest whole number) 54 kills per world rank. I’m pretty sure there’s people out there with many more kills to rank ratio than myself.

If your map has a queue and you need supplies on that map it’s time to split up and capture supply camps. If your map has a queue you should be able to work with what you already have instead of having priority in the queue to port out and come back. The queue issue is also something very few servers have as well.

However, instancing supplies to each specific map would be a game changer but I suppose that deserves its own thread.

Since the ele tornado nerf people are looking more towards necros for the AOE damage. Roaming is rough on a necromancer because of the lack of mobility however their AOE damage is why they are critical in large scale fights. As previously stated in this thread, you can go full zerk and stay alive if you maintain proper positioning.

You can AOE apply vunerability
You can AOE bomb a hole into the ground

When your melee can lock down the enemy inside your necro bombs, they turn into bags.

About 20-21k with guard stacks and food. If you’re running the meta double stab AH build (00644) you should have shelter to block attacks and renewed focus as your “oh crap” invul skill. Running around with an energy sigil on each weapon and knowing how to conserve your dodges is a big plus.

If your rank isn’t high enough to max Defense Against Guards I would suggest 00662 with Pure of Voice to make up the difference of not having the extra 100 vitality.

If all you do is claim camps for +5 then you are missing out on nine other buffs your guild can do. Ever try activating +40 Power, +40 Precision, +40 Vitality, +40 Toughness, +10% Health to your garrison? It helps a bit when you’re being attacked. Your server might thank you as well.

Many people have been voicing their opinion about the removal of white swords but it seems like no one is complaining about PPK so it must be a good thing.

I personally love PPK, it means winning an open field engagement actually helps my server. Due to PPK, last Friday (reset) my server had dropped to lowest PPT but still generated the highest points every tick because of PPK.

Maybe ANet can give us a few weeks of PPK with white swords.

Go with Hoelbrak runes on zerk armor. For swapping between PvE and WvW you’ll only need to change trinkets and weapons.

It’s not the only reason why WvW is losing players, the game itself is losing players. However, something similar has already been suggested multiple times in the past which is Lion’s Arch being instanced to each server. Something to bring new players to the game into WvW is definitely needed. The combination of mega server and Edge of the Mists is hindering us from getting fresh faces into the WvW game mode.

Zerg battles are centered around the GWEN model which has specific builds for each class. Guardian being one of those classes, you won’t be able to just easily switch your build on the fly, you’re going to need different armor and weapons sets. I only know of a few guardian roamers and they all use a meditation build with traveler runes. For zerg battles, you’re going to want an AH build using hoelbrak runes (melandru is popular among people not in a WvW guild.)

Magi stats are some of the worst you can put on a guardian. Most of the healing done in WvW is from the Area Healing combo which requires using a combo blast finisher inside a water combo field.

If you really want the skin, just select whichever weapon you want to unlock the skin for then transmute it onto a different weapon.
