My (most likely many before me) idea is to have entirely new borderland maps which rotate weekly. For balance reasons, each color borderland during a match will be a different instance of the same map.
You don’t have to PVE to get gear for WvW.
Not all stat combinations, sigils, and runes are available in sPvP. Many WvW builds use a mix of different stats.
Consumables don’t make things unbalanced considering everyone can use them.
IMHO, this will never happen but I could list 100 different reasons why it would be a terrible idea.
Your support is done by maximizing your damage while still being able to stay alive. If you have a commander who knows how to well bomb you hold your wells until called for and drop them where you’re asked to. If done correctly you should start pressing F to collect your bags.
Yes, I still would. Weapon swap sigils have a 9 second internal CD and weapon swapping for most professions have a 10 second CD. To make the most out of an Intel sigil you would have to swap everytime your swap comes off CD. Energy sigil on the other hand is defensive and you use your CD when you need to for sustain (e.g. swapping for blast waters with horn #5, to use savage leap, swapping for extra dodge roll, etc…) If I don’t need to blast waters and use my gap closer (savage leap) I tend to stay in hammer until a rerally.
Armored Attack is only about an 8% damage increase as opposed to Destruction of the Empowered which is a 3% increase per boon on the enemy. If your opponents consistently have more than three boons up than DotE is preferred over AA.
If you have enough necros and your group is exceptional at well bombing and immobilizing the enemy in your wells, AA might be a better trade off. For the most part though, I prefer to run with DotE instead.

A necro in a havoc group is usually the first one to die when you successfully pull a map blob off your home bl by hitting one of their northern T3 towers.
Double stability shout guardian
Fire/Force on hammer and Energy/Bloodlust on Sword/Horn is my recommendation.
Fire is the best AOE damage sigil you can use for power based builds.
I prefer Force over Impact/Paralyzation because stability will negate the effect of these sigils.
Fire/Force on Hammer because hammer is your main DPS weapon and you want to put your DPS focused sigils on your primary weapon set.
Energy on Sword (or Horn) to recover 50% endurance (an extra dodge) on weapon swap. Unlike guardians who can’t get a 5 second weapon swap warriors only need to put this on a single weapon set instead of both.
Bloodlust on Horn (or Sword) to stack an extra 250 power. I would not use a different attribute stacking sigil because Bloodlust is far superior to anything else for a frontline hammer warrior. I prefer Bloodlust over Perception because 30% crit chance before fury is the most optimal before you start sacrificing other stats for precision. Healing power doesn’t scale as well as other professions such as guardian so even for a shout healing build I still prefer Bloodlust over Life.
You generally don’t want to use sigils such as Stamina or Restoration because that is relying on enemy kills for sustain. Your sustain should come from skills and not sigils, e.g. blasting water fields for healing and using shouts with trooper runes for condition cleanse.
There is a designated outfit slot in your heroes panel. All you do is equip the outfit like any piece of gear to put it on.
There is no such thing as a “Finished” MMO.
Does this for guild banks as well. The only way to stack is to withdrawal the previous stack, add yours on top, then deposit back into the bank. Not everyone in all guild’s is given withdrawal access which makes this annoying.
Just to clarify, I’m not referring to low frame rates as lag. If you are having frame rate issues that is a client side performance issue. I am referring to the massive skill lag everyone experiences when full map blobs are fighting each other. This skill lag is from high volumes of traffic on the server and it is not an issue with the client. Adding VoIP traffic on top of what is already a bogged down network would only make things worse.
Just to clarify one last time, I am referring to ANet’s network, not my own.
Shout Heal: (requires guardian support.)
Pug Hammer: (selfish build when you don’t have guardian support)
I would much rather stick to using TS3. If there was only a single voice channel per WvW map than trying to run multiple groups would be a pain. It’s not uncommon to see two different groups running hammer/anvil on the same map.
On another note, there’s enough lag when two full map blobs are fighting to add VoIP traffic to the same network.
Really depends on the type of build you’re going for. If you’re doing havoc I would use a GS instead of a hammer for the extra mobility. For a frontline build you shouldn’t focus on maximizing damage.
Unfortunately gw2skills is down for the moment and this build editor is a bit old. http://gw2buildcraft.com/calculator/warrior/?8.0|2.5c.h17.0.0.0|c.1c.h1j.g.1c.h1.0.0.0|1c.7x.1c.7x.1c.7x.1c.7x.1c.7x.1c.7x.0.0.0.0.0.0|2t.0.3t.0.2t.0.2t.0.3t.0.2s.0|0.0.k28.u29c.k48|15.7|5x.69.6b.6g.6k|e
If running two shout warrs using this build in the same party you have perma fury for 45% crit chance. The goal should actually be 30% crit chance before fury and keeping power as a primary stat on all your gear. The extra 5% crit can be made up from using Zerk/Zerk ascended trinkets instead of Zerk/Valk. However, I play on a T1 server so I prefer the extra vitality when fighting 80vs80 map fights.
The secondary sigil I use on my hammer is stamina. In a GvG, even with fast hands, I would use Energy/Energy however I find Stamina/Energy to be more useful outside of GvG fights.
If you think you’re going to find omniblobs running around 24/7 in T1 than I believe you’re mistaken. Most of our queue times also only happen at reset.
However, it is the only place you’ll find action outside of NA prime.
EotM is where my guild goes to farm t2-t4 mats for ascended crafting.
4 Warr, 4 Guard, 2 Necro, 3 Ele, 2 Mesmer vs 80 uplevels; Collect your bags and salvage for iron, linen, cotton, platinum, soft wood, hard wood… GG
It’s even better when you catch them at your keep because half of them are already singled from the keep lord.
Only a WvW player replies with, “Patron or Jose Cuervo?” when asked about Teq.
Most of your healing should come from blasting waters.
There’s rarely any queue for JQ during OCX. Not much as far as “roaming” is concerned in T1. You’ll be much better off finding other people to run a 5-10 man havoc team.
I think the OCX time slot is actually the most balanced in T1 as far as population goes across all 3 servers compared to other time slots.
T1 is more than just, “omg, BLOB!!” Anyways, it’ll be unlikely that servers can move up to equal T1 because they lack coverage. Most of the WvW players who play outside of NA prime are in T1 since that’s the only place they’ll get much of any action.
Condition builds are great when running in a havoc group but there’s way too much cleansing in large organized groups to make them effective.
Death Shroud based Power build with 6k+ Life Blasts:

If you don’t have guardian support you might want to swap out Death Perception for Foot in the Grave. The focus of this build is to stay in Death Shroud as much as possible and Life Blast.
Marks → Wells → Swap → Axe 3 for Retal → DS → Life Transfers → Life Blast til Life Force is drained → Rinse and Repeat
Most common shout setups are 00563 or 00464 trading armored attack for dote.

30 minutes into last reset on a T1 server before we even had our first map queue and it wasn’t even EB.
For havoc/small groups in WvW you can use the PvE build but swap out Blood is Power for Corrupt Boon. Make sure your dagger #4 skill is off CD when you’re ready to use your corruption skills. Dagger #4 is a good way to get rid of the conditions you put on yourself without wasting your heal.
It is possible to self buff 15+ might stacks with this build.
Yaks: 816 / 713
Camps: 1941 / 174
Towers: 1221 / 351
Keeps: 603 / 604
SMC: 97 / 90
If you sit in garrison scouting for an hour and a thief every 3 minutes taps the gate, you will have 20 successful keep defenses during that hour even though there was no assault on the keep.
The first major change that may actually affect how something is played in WvW since bloodlust.
BTW, I can think of a spot inside every single tower (BL/EB) that you can place an AC to hit the gate that cannot be destroyed from the outside except by another AC. If these siege disabling devices require the same LOS as player ranged attacks than these locations will be unaffected.
You can run havoc all day long and never achieve a high rank, doesn’t mean you aren’t a skilled player.
Pandaman.4758, guess the only one of those I was ever concerned about was the tribal armor since I was just a few ranks away from being able to start working towards getting pieces when the change hit.
JQ EU Guilds: 0
JQ NA Guilds: 3
If your displayed rank was determined by player kills instead of WXP gained—those mithril ranked eotm ktrain people wouldn’t even be in bronze yet.
Eventually, colors change and that POI that use to be inside an enemy keep is now on your side of the map.
I’m so glad I won’t have to buy a second pin for my guardian and a third for scouting on my thief. Thanks ANet!
ANet doesn’t want you to post in threads more than 30 days old (without a post) so they encourage creating new topics about such old subjects.
All the assets for the armor set is still in-game. I could be mistaken, but I believe this was the only exclusive PvP armor set prior to the wardrobe/sPvP change.
The counter to the heavy hammer train meta is to stack power necros and bait them into wells then finish them off with meteor-nados.
The reason why heavies should be sticking tight on their commander though is damage localization.
Even in T1 it can be slow during the NA to OCX transition period.
Shout Heal Warrior

This build is centered around group synergy requiring at least 2 guardians rotating through stability in your party. My guild’s preferred melee groups are 2 shout guards, 2 shout warrs (all running troopers) and a necro.
With this group composition you have constant condition cleansing and stability when needed. You don’t need stances in this group comp.
Here’s a video of this build in action:

Selfish Frontline Hammer Warrior:

Mistakes warriors commonly make:
Hammer stun on melee train who have stability. Instead, sword #2 in, flurry to apply immobilize and immediately weapon swap to cancel the flurry animation.
Using hammer #4 and #5:
These will negate any stun and hammer #5 will also knock people out of AOE nukes and wells. However, hammer #5 is good for punting people out of or away from a circle. Hammer #4 should only be used against someone who is very low on health towards the end of a fight.
Autotargeting On:
You want to keep autotargeting off and make sure you ctrl+t your commander. If you need to regroup or start to fall behind you press T then sword #2 for a rally. You also want autotargeting off for using a GS on a roaming build if you need to GS #5 to disengage.
Not Blasting Waters:
This doesn’t apply if you’re solo roaming. Hammer F1 and Horn #5 are your two blast finshers. When an ele calls a water field make sure you either hammer stun the water field or horn #5 inside it to provide Area Healing to everyone affected.
GS Sword/Axe roaming build:

First, forget EotM even exists. The purpose of EotM was to be an overflow for people waiting in queue to get into WvW. Now it’s just full of karma training up levels who have no idea how a real fight works.
Any person who knows what they’re doing as a commander will be using some type of voice communication such as a public TS for the server—I suggest using it. Learn who the good pins and the not so good pins are for your server. Follow who you like, join their squad, problem solved.
Please change the Siege Masters Guide so it can be account bound instead of soul bound. Making superior siege in the forge is a pain already when you have to do it in bulk. This is more for convenience so you can purchase siege guides on multiple toons then send them to one toon for converting siege instead of having to send siege to multiple toons.
I heard zerglings die easy to fire.
Still looking for warriors?
So much skill lag in Red BL right now, can barely even auto attack.
