My suggested order of things to get:
1) Gift of Battle (Badges from WvW) + Bloodstone Shard (200 SP) + Gift of Exploration (Map Completion)
2) Mystic Clovers (Karma + SP)
3) Gift of Mastery (Karma)
4) 100 Icy Runestones + Gift of Legendary (gold and materials and a dungeon’s tokens)
5) Precursor (gold)
6) Gift of Magic + Gift of Might + Gift of Fortune (materials)
7) Legendary
the reason for it is to find things you normally find while collecting unbuyables (karma, SP, map completion), so that when you go to buy them, you won’t need as much. same for collecting gold for precursor: be collecting T6 mats for Gift of M&M at the same time.
I’d switch your Icy Runestones to after your pre because the runestones have a static value and having that extra 100g can let you take advantage of a drop in the pre price, but otherwise Mystic’s suggestion is probably the best order.
GW2 doesn’t have a trinity there are no healers, tanks, dps. Everyone provides dps while crowd controlling enemies, and providing group support( offensive and defensive boons). Everyone is responsible for their healing, also it’s worth mentioning that you do not tanks tougher enemies you use active defense ( dodges, blocks, ect) , CC skills ( blind, immobilize, weakness, ect) and movement to avoid damage rather than tank/heal. Guardians and elementalists are more support focused classes so you might enjoy them although all classes can dps,CC, and support in some way or another.
Everyone is giving good advice except for telling you to toss the Agony +1s. Sell them on the TP if you don’t need them they go for 10s a piece.
I don’t get this “eotm zerg” is awesome thing. I went, got in a group, we zerged to our little hearts content and 2-3 hrs later I had progressed 1/2 a level. I could have done that plus 3 levels more doing hearts and gathering!
As an AoE ’zerker Ele, yes I was doing my share of damage!
Were you actually taking objectives? Evey objective is an event, events give a good amount of XP, in EOTM you complete many event and kill many champs fairly quickly therefore you level up quickly. You may have got a bad map where your zerg kept getting wiped or your commander may have just sucked. If you only got a half level in 3hrs you were doing something wrong.
The green ball things that drop from fractles and say agony infusion +1 are what go in an agony infusion slot not the versatile agony infusion. Also you should combine multiple +1 with the artifacting crafting discipline until you get a +5 before you put it in, i think you need 32 +1’s to get a +5 .
Am I right in saying that the stats for these weapons are nor better than those for ascended weapons? If so what’s the point in having one?
Cheers
The bling man, the bling, and who doesn’t want a bow that shoots exploding rainbow unicorns of death.
Edge of the mists is the fastest way or you could just do world exploration and gather everything you see, speed leveling is usually something people do after their 3rd or 4th 80 because they’ve seen everything, just wandering around and doing random events/ heart quests and not worrying about 80 can be fun.
Longbow ranger isn’t that bad with piercing arrows and fire sigil, but like the others said necro would be better. If you do go ranger use ranger runes not strength rangers only have access to might with warhorn, and rage as one, and yes you could use a sigil of strength. Just because runes of strength are the most expensive doesn’t mean they’re always the best.
Did some quick math. If you sold all the ingredients on the TP you would get about 3g 2.55g after taxes. If you assign 0 value to the skill points used assuming 1 powerful blood costs about 50s then you would need to produce 6 or more each recipe for it to be cheaper than just buying the powerful blood. If you get 5 you will be losing about 5-10s per recipe. Assuming equal chance to get 5-12 then over all it would save you money to use the recipe. This is all assuming personal use, if your making the powerful bloods to sell on the TP I wouldn’t recommend it.
Mystic, with respect your analysis is flawed. He’s not buying BLSK he has too many, and since he can’t sell them their value is 0c or possibly less since they’re using up bank space.
Ruby orbs got nerfed in the april 15 updated. For runes (armor) scholer’s are the best, ogre and pack are good too, so are strength but they’re not worth the price. for your weapons don’t use orbs use sigils like force, battle, strength, fire, bloodlust, and night if your focus is dungeons, figure out what works best with your build. When people say “zerker” they mean the stats on your armor, weapons, and trinkets are Power, Precession, and ferocity. What you use in your sigil and rune slots is determined by your build.
Edit: When people spout big numbers they usually have party buffs, 25 might, and 25 vulnerability on the target, they just don’t say that. Big numbers aren’t the point your dps is the important part, don’t get caught up in big numbers.

For pugging with limited might stacking and bad group fury uptime which is the better utility to take? My other utilies are BOD and SIO with a 20/30/0/20/0 build. Also consider someone might not grab the other banner, but i can also use the 2nd banner for another fire field blast. So thoughts?
in. Silver my be over supplied now but it’s only farmable in lvl 15-25? maps, the question is once the supply form stockpiles is used up will there be a large surplus of new silver? I would lean towards no. So in the long term i see silver setting at about 90c.
The problem with silver is that its consumption will be tied to the consumption of gold and platinum as well. Even if you need twice or 3 times as much silver as gold or platinum, those 2 will rise in price faster to a point where people cant afford them anymore.
Not disagreeing, Gold is a much better investment than silver still it’s worth keeping a couple stacks around for personal use at least. Platinum will certainly increase but i think there are enough platinum farmers already that it wont get too high.
I wonder if there is any person that hasn’t invested in Platinum Ore as of now.
There are more interesting items to invest in. Personally I am not wasting inventory space with them.
definately not platinum. There are a bunch of rich ore.
There will be too many miners for platinum to spike that much.
There are plenty of rich iron nodes as well and that didnt stop it from spiking massively during high demand.
What’s gonna spike when it comes out and stabilize later- Ori, all orbs, dusts, ectos a bit
What’s gonna increase permanently- silver, gold, platinum, mithril ( just a little bit though) , ruby orbs, t2-5 dusts.
I disagree with silver and mithril increasing in value much. If you check supply on the tp you will see that gold and platinum is in much less supply. As the demand for silver/gold/platinum/mithril is somehow regulated through the daily timegate for the xunlai ingot, i wouldnt really bother to invest into silver/mithril.
Concerning Orbs, I am not too sure they will rise too much. I suspect that too many people have stocked up on them over time (personally i bought thousands each last September already and since then many others did as well). You have to keep in mind that orbs most propably will only be used in leveling from 400-500. Their equivalent, t6 rare mats, didnt really spike during asc armor and weaponcrafting going live because everybody had enough of them stocked up for their own use.
Realistically, you only need 15 of each orb to discover all the trinkets, who doesnt have that in his collectible tab? Ruby orbs definately have alot less supply in peoples inventory because they are used as a popular upgrade component so there has been decent demand over time for them.
But the same goes for Opal Orbs, which is basically the only other orb that isnt hovering around vendor value. That is because it is used in crafting 3 legendary gifts (for the minstrel, the bifrost and the dreamer).
I think the orb investment is just a huge bubble and asc jeweling will not create enough demand for them to increase their value over a long period of time. I already listed all my orbs (except opal and ruby) around 5-6s. Orbs might spike that high but not due to honest demand but pre patch speculation, so i hope to sell them before patch already. At the moment nearly all Exquisite Jewels are still available way under crafting value, so those are the ones I invested in mostly. Considering that you need 1 orb, 2 ori ingots and 1 ecto to craft one, especially Exq Chrysocola jewels (@32/37s) and Exq Passion FLowers @ 50/60s (crafting value of 3.5g), look quite tasty.
If not for speculative purposes, i would recommend to get at least 15 each of the exq jewels on buy order for your own consumption.I still wonder if they will incorporate a dust sink. For that case, i invested into Luminous Dust as t4 always seems to be the bottleneck.
If we assume that mithril is used in ecto refinement for xunlai then in the long term it will probably stabilize at a slightly higher price, but i agree they’re not worth investing in. Silver my be over supplied now but it’s only farmable in lvl 15-25? maps, the question is once the supply form stockpiles is used up will there be a large surplus of new silver? I would lean towards no. So in the long term i see silver setting at about 90c. As for orbs they’re pretty much useless now so people don’t notice that they accumulate them rather slowly through regular gameplay, but since most people will be wanting Bezerker stats ruby orbs will be the only ones to keep any real value after the rush to 500. My prediction is that the ascended recipes will require quit a few orbs to turn into T7 jewels with T7 dust or simply just a large quantity of them.
Your advice about Exquisite Jewels seems sound is something I didn’t consider, and is worth a look.
It’s a cost/benefit thing the cost of implementing it design/ upkeep/ security/ect vs the profit from people (who would buy gems but don’t have access to a computer that can run guild wars 2 for the length of time the item that they would buy gem for will be in the gem store) which is pretty much the OP and maybe a couple other people.
What’s gonna spike when it comes out and stabilize later- Ori, all orbs, dusts, ectos a bit
What’s gonna increase permanently- silver, gold, platinum, mithril ( just a little bit though) , ruby orbs, t2-5 dusts.
People tend to have a myopic view of others’ play style. So when they say there will be no demand for ascended trinkets they just think about it from their perspective, but alot of people don’t do guild missions or fractles. So there will be a demand for ascended jewelry, it just won’t be as high as demand for ascended weapons and armor.
I believe the record time for SE p2 is a little over an hour, while SEp1 & SE p3 take about 10 and 20 mins respectively, so don’t bother with p2. For COE on alpha count to 3 then dodge other wise it’s pretty straight forward.
That 1 hour path 2 was a joke video, it is doable in 15 minutes, but for 1 gold it’s not worth the trouble. It’s also an annoying path.
Last time I did it was like a year ago and all i remember was it took forever and you had to walk with some super slow npc. I saw the video posted on here a while back and just assumed it was real. /shrug

Because Runes serve a actual purpose (that being build customization not just adding stats) where as +stat infusions are just fluff that was added so people who didn’t do fractles didn’t QQ about infusions being useless to them. It’s 30 stat points max it makes almost zero impact.
The stat boost from infusions is insignificantly small their main purpose is to provide AR ANET just put in the stat boosting infusions for people who didn’t care about fractles. Defensive slots fit thematically with it being armor, it’s not some big conspiracy to get you to buy more T6 mats (facepalm).
It only drops at 80 and it’s ridiculously easy to get you’ll have too much and be tossing stacks of it soon don’t worry.
Oh so you bought a bunch of ghastly shields. 6000 gold is gonna take a long time to make were talking thousands of hours unless you spend most of time flipping on the TP then it probably will still take hundreds of hours. Going from lvl 2-80 takes about 40 hours or less so i would still suggest an account roll back. The best way to make money not including TP flipping is speed running dungeons.
If your stuff is missing your account was hacked you should contact customer support and change your password. As far as earning gold do what you did to earn the original 4000. Also I’m starting to think your trolling.
The point I and i assume the other poster where trying to make is 6000 gold is a ridiculous amount of in game money, What are you trying to get anyway?
Edit: translating online stuff into real life stuff is gold selling and Anet will ban you for it.
(edited by Cyrill Faust.9340)
Then your guildie has spent the last 1.8 years of his life flipping on the TP all day and accumulating vast amounts of imaginary money that has no real life use and at this point no use for that amount in game. As a side note he should probably seek professional psychiatric help or at least find a girlfriend.
I think your misunderstanding the terminology used for currency in this game. The smallest unit of currency is a copper the largest is a gold. 6000 gold is more than even most serious players have ever had and can buy about 3 legendary weapons the most expensive items in the game.
ETOM for Karma, champ bags, and dragonite.
Cursed Shore for T6 ( party up and bring a staff for your guard watch the lootz rain).
Dungeons for Gold AC 1-3, SE 1&3, TA U&F , COF 1&2, COE 1-3( COE is also a good place to get charged cores/loadstones).
ETOM…. End thread
Warriors aren’t OP they’re just the most idiot proof class all you really have to do is press GS 2, however a good warrior will focus on buffing group dps which requires a bit more thought. I find warriors tend to be easy kills in pvp/wvw even the popular hambows so i don’t know were people get the idea that they’re above average. Mesmer’s are fun to play but take some skill to play well and the more mesmers you have in a group the less useful they are. Necro’s tend to be pvp gods or easy loot bags it just depends on the player. They’re the least optimal for dungeons, but most groups won’t really care as long as your a decent player. So as it gets repeated in everyone of these threads PLAY WHAT YOU ENJOY IT’S A GAME.
You can’t slot a gem in the fractal capacitor so you shouldn’t bother with it unless your going to ascend it right away. The only bezerker exotic back that you can slot gems in is the spinal blade, but it’s petty expensive to get all those blade shards. My advice would be to just get the soldier temple one and slot a exquisite ruby in it, the difference in precision, and ferocity isn’t gonna add 1% to your to your crit chance/dmg.
wvw zerging through towers and keeps. Plenty there
Towers don’t give dragonite. Try EOTM I get about 100/hr but it varies. Use http://dulfy.net/2014/04/23/event-timer/ and always do Golem and Shatterer they’re fast and easy, the events that only drop 3-5 aren’t worth the time.
Buying rams and arrow carts and selling them on the TP is the best BOH to Gold ratio, its 6 BOH to 1.2-1.5s. Another way is 3 lvl 70 exotics 1 MF stone, but with that way your mostly hoping to get a good rune so its a gamble.
… it’kitten or miss in most groups weather the boss is positioned right to use 3.
Edit- why is (H) (I) (T) kittened out?
lawl censorship.
It is … hit or miss.
Remove " … " and see why it doesn’t like your kitten. :P
Such a goofy system.
oh got ya lol
You might already be aware of this but just incase it helps check out -

For the best current meta builds and guides.
Thanks for the link I’ll probably switch to 4/6/0/4/0 since i rarely see pug wars running EA. I don’t really like GS because of the root on 2 and it’kitten or miss in most groups weather the boss is positioned right to use 3.
Edit- why is (H) (I) (T) kittened out?
6/6/0/2/0 for more defense not 6/6/0/0/2 i do prefer 6/6/0/2/0 but i heard 6/6/0/0/2 is better dmg although i didn’t notice much of a difference. I like axe/axe more than axe/mace the mace vulnerability seems kinda meh most of the time. I only swap to LB to stack might pre fight since most groups don’t bother. I have no problem staying at 90% plus hp with mending and mango or mixed berry pie, I was just curious about HS. I might try 4/6/0/4/0 I honestly didn’t think about that, i only take EA when i run a PS/GS build.
So why do most of the wars i see in dungeon pugs use healing signet? I run an zerker/scholer rune Axe/axe- longbow(for might stacking) 6/6/02/0 or 6/6/0/0/2 (depending on the group if i need a little more defense). When i try running healing signet even with mango pies my hp still seems to stay at a low %. Are these guys just running pvt gear or something?
All classes are viable in all aspects of the game, some excel more in certain areas than others but not to the point were other classes can’t compete. The only possible exption to this are Necros in dungeon speedrun groups (this is mainly because they lack a cleaving melee weapon) most groups just want you to know your class and know the dungeon though. Its also fairly easy to get to 80 so if you don’t like a classes play style you can just level another. It takes about 45 min/per lvl just by exploring/ doing events, there are even faster ways like dungeons and EOTM. So pick the class that you like best. :p
Edit didn’t see the part about healers there are no healers/tanks in GW2 the people who try to be are just a liability. Most classes can provide some support but they should also be focused on dmg. A good guardian can carry most groups that are less than skilled so if that’s what your into try guard.
(edited by Cyrill Faust.9340)
so basically, after spend your money in gem store to get skins, you still cannot use them for free, every time when you use it u still need to pay for Transmutation Charge. Great, Greedy
You can use it for free the first time, and you can get Charges from map completion and spvp tracks. The Gem store skins are really meant for lvl 80 players with exotic/ascended weapons/armor, not for leveling characters who change gear every 5-10 levels, this is because getting to 80 takes very little time and most players are there on at least one character.
Arah pretty much only path sellers do it any more so good luck trying to find someone to run it and not try to kick everyone at the end or try to charge you.
Maybe if you didn’t close the Arah LFG before 5 seconds were up you’d stand a better chance of seeing a non-seller post.
I echo my post above. Arah 1-3, with the assumption that you have a good team (and by good I mean by knowing what they’re doing, meta builds can come later). If you’re bad, it’ll (eventually) teach you how not to be bad, so long as you’re not one of those silent pugs I tend to hear stories about.
Ok yeah if you have a good team it can be cost effective, but with your average pug it just isn’t in my experience. While I may have exaggerated the path seller thing it does get annoying when every time you open it up you see 4 ads to 1 real run, there really should be a separate tab for that but that’s a different issue.
AC- 1&3 (2 is easy if you have dps and the group knows how to do ghostbusters)
CM all paths are pretty easy if you have reflect and the group knows what to do( most pugs suck at this one though)
TA Up and Forward are both easy
SE 1&3 both easy and fast 2 is pretty long most people don’t know it final boss is annoying
COF 1 (duh) 2 is pretty easy also. 3 is a pug breaker they tend to fail hard
COE all easy you get charged cores and lodestones its awsome as long as everyone can do Alpha.
Arah pretty much only path sellers do it any more so good luck trying to find someone to run it and not try to kick everyone at the end or try to charge you.
For linen Nightmare Court in Sparkfly Fin and northwest Mount Malestorm. They drop bags that drop alot of linen and cloth scraps that you salvage for linen or cotton. For silk just salvaging all your white, blue, and green light armor drops is the best way to get it, but the Savnir in Frostgorge drop cloth scraps that you salvage for linen or silk. you also get silk from most large and heavy bags. For salvaging use basic kits they are the most cost effective.
If there is no number next to it that means there is one item. So you have one use left. Try salvaging something if you can’t ( and the item is salvageable) then it’s probably a bug try destroying it if it persists contact support.
You convert Piles of Bloodstone Dust, Dragonite Ore, Empyreal Fragment, into Empyreal Star, Bloodstone Brick, Dragonite Ingot. You need 100 of the former to make 1 of the latter. The bricks, ingots, and stars are what’s used in the recipies. So you would need 27,000 of each of the dust, ore, and fragments and a massive amout of gold to make all those ascended weapons and armor. Hope that clears things up,
The rage quitting kittens are so annoying. When you lose half your party on the first wipe i just wonder why even try. I mean its the first day for kittens sake. There seems to be such a sense of entitlement in the community that if you can’t faceroll content you should just be a little kitten about it till Anet nerfs it into the ground. This attitude didn’t seem to be there during MF and AR. If this is the direction the community if headed i don’t know if its worth being a part of.
Rant over.
Maw is the only “Reported” drop not the only drop. It drops from other things not just Maw.
“Destroyer, Icebrood, Ghost, Elemental – Gilded Strongbox” From the same Dulfy page so you can get it from any of those type of champs. Go to the northwest corner of frostgourg on a busy server you’ll find alot that can drop it or run HOTW. If you just keep doing maw odds are by the time you get it (if you ever do) it’ll be 5-10g on the tp.
Hey Snoflake you might want to try this site to find when the temple of Bathizar is open and on what server so you can guest. http://www.gw2state.com/temples.html
White= Salvage/ white leather = vendor
Blue= Vendor
Green= Vendor( the odds of MF upgrading is 1/5 so on average you would have to use 16 greens to get 1 rare. lvl 75-80 greens vendor for 1.5s – 1.98 the average rare sells for 16s-20s in the long run your losing money and going to LA all the time must be a pain.)
Yellow= >17s salvage <17s TP ( with a master kit the rare to ecto rate is 10/8. so for every 10 rares you salvage on average you will get 8 ectos and ectos sell for about 18.5s on the tp. I should note that when you salvage you have an 80% chance to get the rune/sigil for the item and they sell for 3-4s on the tp, so if your felling lucky you can salvage up to 19s rares but anything more and your likely to make less profit.)
The mask is one of the Necro starter masks. you can only get it by making a necro and transmuting it onto a white so it becomes account-bound.
No, just no.
Also don’t waste your money in the Mystic Toilet. Anet is making precursors craftable soon. The cost to try to make it in the forge would be about the same as buying it off the TP. Look in the crafting forum to see all the posts about people who spent enough to just buy a legendary and still got nothing. The MF is meant to be a gold sink don’t waste your money.
