I think what some of you don’t realize is the mastery points you’ll get retroactively are only for old tyria not maguma so you’ll only be able to rush stuff like the old precursor track and fractles track, you’ll still start HOT with 0 MPs for the new area so tomes aren’t gonna make the new stuff easy mode.

Builds for Necromancers Minions

Made you a build, understand this isn’t a meta build and you shouldn’t use minions in dungeons, but this will work fine for casual stuff.

The frailty sigils add vuln to enemies so your minions do more damage, the speed sigil is because your gonna be slow without locus signet but you can swap them for force if you don’t care. Pack runs give your minions fury so they deal more damage, your gonna want assassin armor cause your crit rate is a little low. Your skills and traits are to make the most out of your minions.

Also don’t use staff and septer in pve staff is just a bad weapon for anything but wvw zergs and septer is a condi weapon

Edit: I thought i should add you don’t need ascended equipment, exotic is fine ascended is just the first tab in the build editor and i’m lazy.

Character Naming Policy

You know their naming policies covers just about everything you could name a character, they do this purposefully so that if a name gets reported they don’t have people arguing that they didn’t break TOS. Name your char whatever you want, but if you make it really offensive don’t be surprised if your asked to change.

The mastery system misconceptions

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Cyrill Faust.9340

Cyrill Faust.9340

I keep seeing people post things about the mastery system that contradict what ANET said in the blog posts, so I’m gonna try to clear things up.

Mastery points are NOT gained by leveling up. They are gained by completing certain tasks such as 100% completion of a map or completing a chapter of the PS, it also looks like Heart of Magumma will have places you can earn them similar to skill point challenges in old Tyria.
You will use MPs to unlock mastery tracks(you will then have to select the track as your active track), as you gain XP the track will progress until you hit a milestone. At the milestone you will gain that ability then you must spend more MPs to unlock the next section of the track.

Heart of Magumma and old Tyria will have have different tracks to unlock, and it looks like they will only be active and progress in their respective regions.

Will tombs of knowledge give you a mastery point? No
Will tombs of knowledge progress your mastery track? Most likely not, although writs of XP might.
Will XP boosters work with mastery tracks? probably, now this may seem wrong to some people, but if you look at it from a game design prospective you’ll realize if they don’t work many items including gem store items will have to be reworked and the overall effect a few xp boosters will have is fairly minimal.

That’s all i can think of at the moment, feel free to ask any questions, but understand i don’t have any information that isn’t already public.

fair enough, where would be the best place to get exotic weapons to salvage for ectos/luck?

I Think you misunderstood when i said “cost ineffective”, I meant that salvaging ectos for luck is a large monetary loss, and salvaging exotic for ectos is also a monatary loss unless they are very cheap and you are very lucky(not magic find lucky).

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/archive/bltc/Mystic-s-Gold-Profiting-Guide/first#post4359428
This is a very good articular written by the forum’s TP expert the whole thing is a good read but you will probably be most interested in the part about “Luck Salvaging” if you do some math it is very possible to make a bit of money and boost your luck at the same time.

Salvaging exotics into ectos into C.dust is probably the most cost ineffective way to raise your magic find. A good way to increase your luck without costing much is to just salvage all the blues and greens you get. This is usually profitable cloth, about break even for wood and metal, and a loss for leather(you can salvage leather if you want but you make 50c-1s per piece more vendoring it).

Magic find doesn’t work on chests(for JPs, world bosses, dungons…. ect),or champ bag. It generally only works on mob drops, bandit chests(not the bags inside), and some spvp containers.

edit: It also works on the envelopes from the recent lunar new year.

Ranger or Warrior?!?!

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Cyrill Faust.9340

Cyrill Faust.9340

Warrior no question cuz it’s a pure dps class !! But seriously if you want to play warrior at it maximum potential you need to spend no less than 100g.

You can have a war only for dungeon/fractal and ranger for the rest no one gonna judge you.

I thinks your information is a little outdated.

Warrior and Ranger are both mid teir personal dps classes that bring good offensive support, warrior has better self buffing ability and more passive defense with heavy armor, high health pool , and healing signet so is generally better for better for playing with less skilled groups.

Strength runes are not the optimal rune for warriors(so 100g to gear them up is false) unless they are running a PS build and or soloing, even in those situations scholar runes are still very effective and the optimal rune for the main DPS build.

OP if you like ranger play ranger and get good with it. If you want to play war play war and get good with it, or play both you don’t have to pick one. The best players in the game(both pve and pvp), while they have classes that are favorites, have played all classes extensively. It helps to understand what others are doing with class Y so you can play X to it’s fullest, for example someone who mains guard but has played ele will think about timing their light fields so the ele doesn’t blast them by accident.

Just hit level 80 with 13G on my first hero

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Cyrill Faust.9340

Cyrill Faust.9340

Since you have limited gold I suggest you buy lvl 80 rare armor and weapons with beserker stats off the trading post and slot ruby orbs in them. Then go to your home WvW borderland(press B to bring up the screen to go there) you’ll be in a big castle head south into the castle and find the laurel vendor you should have enough laurels and badges of honor from achievement points to buy an ascended amulet( you should get the one called the Distinguished Circle of Logic). You can also get ascended rings from this guy at a good price if you don’t like fractles but you probably don’t have enough laurels/boh left now. Now you wan to buy rare earrings and ring from the TP you’ll want ruby or opal whichever you can get cheaper( if they cost too much you can buy green(masterwork) ones since you gonna replace them later anyway. You’ll want to eventally upgrade your armor to exotic beserker with ranger runes and you jewelry to asended/exotic. For a backpeice you can buy a rare Lucky Ram backpeice on the TP for 30-40 silver currently and upgrade it to exotic in the mystic forge later, you need to right click on it to chose the stats(beserker) then slot a ruby orb in it.

Okay now that your geared decently you’ll want traits start with steady focus, signet mastery, piercing arrows, spotter, pets prowess, pets might, quick draw, strength of spirit, vigorous spirits, read the winds, and predators onslaught. You can look on you trait panel to see what you need to do to get them if its too much of a pain then you can just buy them from the profession trainer. For how you should set up you traits 6/5/0/3/0 is a good set up for pve.

For what to do now, what ever you want :p, okay so things you can, do hunt down all the pets, check out dungeons/fractles, check out WvW/EOTM, check out silverwastes/Drytop, hunt down you other traits, finish your personal story, check out the world bosses, work on 100% map completion or just sit in LA and talk to people the world is your oyster have fun(the most important part).

Are gravlings "Ghosts"?

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: Cyrill Faust.9340

Cyrill Faust.9340

There is nothing ghostly about gravelings. But they are still considered ghosts.
Ghost slayer achievement works on them.

If you got that much money to spend on these potions. All three ways can be done under 30 mins. So not sure, why to use a potion that lasts for 2 hours and is WAY more expensive then 35s.

It costs around 3g each.

The recipe costs about 3.5g to make but makes 10 potions so each potion costs about 35s. While a good group can do it in 30 or less you don’t always get a good group when you pug or you have to find a new group after each run ect.. so that’s why it lasting longer than 30 min would be useful. This all is pointless since the wiki entry was incorrect however.

Thanks for the answers guys.

I’d like to point out that while it’s ideal to run 2 banners if your the only war in the group, most of the time pugs wont carry your 2nd banner. With that in mind it’s usually better to substitute BOS instead of FGJ for whatever other utility you need given the situation if your party doesn’t cap might/have high fury up time.

Also toxic sharping stones while the highest dps(for AC) option is a has bad cost/benefit ratio compared to hardened stones. To elaborate on this they cost 43s at the moment hardened stones provide almost as much power and only cost 1.6s.

Carprace Coat Box

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Cyrill Faust.9340

Cyrill Faust.9340

Yet you all report even number runs in multiples of 10. You don’t know how many runs you’ve done, you’re just estimating. I refuse to believe that “after 50 runs” you’ve only gotten the guaranteed coat box drop because the drop rate is extremely high- RNG or not. If you flip a coin 50 times, you’re not going to get heads 50 times.

Okay smart guy you want exact numbers I kept count of mine I got my 1st non guaranteed box on my 3rd VW then it took 32 more to received my second. The next one I didn’t receive one but the two subsequent VW’s i did i stopped counting after this. Also it is certainly possible flip a coin 50 times and not get tails, it’s unlikely but when dealing with larger numbers of people flipping 50 coins each you introducing more chances of the unlikely happening. I should also point out that the drop rate for coat boxes is closer to 20% than 50%. On the topic of people using numbers that are multiples of 10, the human brain deals with those type of numbers easier so when someone estimates 50 in this situation it’s irrelevant weather it really was 50 or 49 or 51 it gives a close approximation. Also what you “believe” is irrelevant in math, to prove your assertions you need data.

Where to go at level 25? Noob

in Players Helping Players

I am currently level 26 using gs and staff. My friends are lvl 69 62 41 and 45. We usually run the AC dungeon together BUT i die everytime like the mob one hit me. HOWEVER, my friend thief who is level 61 have lower vitalty and toughness than me. How did i die.
Also how do i level up fast other than crafting. I have been doing hearts in the level 25-35 but if i fight against lvl 32mobs i die sometimes. Finally what must I focus on power vit toughness etc. Any recommendation on how to play Guardian at this level.

You die because they are lvl 30-35(you didn’t specify story or exp mode) elite mobs and you are lvl 26 also the combat in this game is based around not getting hit not facetanking in pve vit and toughness are just cushions for newer players. Use you doges and aegis to avoid the big hits and try to stay behind your enemies. Also make sure your equipment is within 5-10 lvls of your lvl, press O to open the traiding post and only buy masterwork(green) equipment till you hit 80. If i were you i would wait till your lvl 30 before you try AC again or your gonna die alot thats just how fighting higher lvl mobs works they do more dmg if your lower lvl and you do less(you can even get one shotted by ambient bunnies if the lvl disparity is great enough).

Cyrill Faust.9340

I bought Howl last week for 390g, Howler is the last of the gen 1s that i like enough to bother making so im glad the price came down a bit. I think people are overestimating the ease at which they’ll be able to get precursors for masteries. I don’t think that ANET is just gonna give them to you I think your probably looking at alot of mats/gold, timegates, fetch quests(like mawdry), and maybe some RNG like the carapace coat. Now ill probably end up crafting any of the gen 2 i like but when people realize how much work is involved i think gen 1s wil raise back up a bit.

No one is actually claiming that it will be super duper easy. The new system is just there to give people an alternative to RNG or the TP. After all, you can get all the other materials for the legendary completely by yourself, without the aid of the TP.

I meant people as a general term not directed at anyone in particular. What I was implying is that part of the reason for the price drop is that a portion of the game population likely does think it will be easy, and when they realize it won’t be the price will raise back up a bit.

Level 80 rings

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Cyrill Faust.9340

Cyrill Faust.9340

I got my amulet about five minutes after hitting 80, and have my first accessory via commendations as well. And my crafted backpack has an infusion slot too, not that I can put anything in any infusion slot yet.

You guys seem to be talking about gear acquisition in the platonic ideal of GW2, where one can always find whatever group one needs to run anything at any time. That is very much not the reality of this or any other MMO, at least for me. A vaguely realistic estimate of how quickly I can get a ring from fractals is about five weeks, figuring a very optimistic once/week and hoping for favorable timing with dailies (could be that the daily was why people finally wanted to run one last night, not sure). PUGging does not seem possible since I’ve never seen anything listed in the 1-9 category; probably not content at all suited to PUGs either, at least as a new player.

I’m also still not clear on what laurels need to be saved for. Sure, they’re time gated, but so what? Like I said, I have the amulet, and from what I’ve seen rings are the only other useful item one can acquire with laurels. Is the idea that one normally converts laurels to gold in some way, as Thaddeus alludes to?

We did a level 10 run last night – I gather that way the experienced players still have a reasonable chance at decent rewards or something. Unfortunately it looks like at least one more run of being auto-killed whenever agony comes into play before I can get a Versatile Simple Infusion and start getting some AR. I gather the system worked more smoothly back at the beginning when everyone could do a bunch of level 1-9 before hitting 10+… I’m working on my passion fruit and karka shell supply but the enormous cost in Powerful Blood, Ancient Bone, etc. is the real limiting factor on the mystic forge infusion options.

Not to sound like a kitten but have you tried to post an LFG yourself for 1-9? I’ve never really had a problem pugging any fractles lvl except the 20s. The reason you don’t see any on the lfg is they probably fill fairly fast.

You really shouldn’t make the MF infusions they were put in the game for people with more money than they knew what to do with they offer no noticeable improvement to your stats.

The way you turn laurels into gold is to buy heavy crafting bags with them and sell the contents on the TP, although with the recent drop in t6 prices it’s not as good as it used to be. you also need alot of laurels to craft ascended weapons and armor but if that doesn’t interest you and you already got the other trinkets then spend your laurels worst thing that could happen is that you have to wait to get more.

New To This Game - Need Some Necro Advice

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Cyrill Faust.9340

Cyrill Faust.9340

I don’t have a necro but i have to let you know that Necro is not good at pve content but very strong in pvp/WvW content

Necro is your choice as long as you love him/her you’ll be fine but as you are new to this game May i ask you about your playstyle and which do you prefer most PvE or PvP/WvW ?

Some pro Necro will answer your Q but i want more detail about you so i can help you even more.

Necro fine in pve and good solo it’s just not optimal for speed running dungeons because it has no significant group buffing capability so all it brings is decent personal DPS

OP staff is good for big group events where you want to hit alot of mobs but for running around it isn’t great. Usually i run dagger/warhorn and axe/focus on my necro when running around with deathshroud(your F1 skill) for long range stuff. wells are good make sure you use them when enemies are grouped together.

About feeling squishy gw2 is about active defense, not taking hits, watch for tells of big attacks and use “V” to dodge them also try to position yourself behind your enemies so they have a harder time hitting you and keep moving while you fight if your not there they can’t hit you. Another thing is to make sure your equipment is within 5-10 lvls of your lvl, also don’t bother with rare or higher equipment while lvling up just stick with green and blue equipment (masterwork and fine), you can get them from the trading post fairly cheap(you can open the TP any time by pressing “O”).

Level 80 rings

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Cyrill Faust.9340

Cyrill Faust.9340

If you like fractles then they are the best way to get rings laurels are valuable because they are time gated so its best not to spend them till you need them. rings are also are rare drop from the bonus chest at the end of lvl 10+ fractles but you need Agony resistance and you need an ascended peice to slot that in but you should have enough P.relics to buy one by the time your lvl 10. If you don’t want to do fractles for your rings and you already bought your amulet then yes its fine to use laurels.
ps: the badges of honor came from an achievement chest. Edge of the mist is a good way to get more if you need them.

Sigil of air/fire or force/night?

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Cyrill Faust.9340

Air comes out to about 5% fire 3.5% against single targets obviously it’s gonna vary some depending on crit chance, attack speed, and number of targets. If you don’t want to carry around dedicated dungeon weapons with night or slaying then air, fire, frailty, and accuracy are good compliments to force. The only reason to stack both fire and air is for burst in pvp.

edit: I don’t have the link but there was a test on reditt awhile back and I remember Nike from DnT in a recent video also saying about 5% for air.

The only practical way to get ascended weapons and armor is to craft them or do lots of high lvl fractles(which you need ascended gear for). The latter is still rng though so best to just craft. Also ascended equipment only adds a few stats the weapons and trinkets add the most armor isn’t really worth it unless you do fractles, so don’t stress on getting it just look at it as a long term goal.

Make Necro Greatsword a raw damage weapon

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Cyrill Faust.9340

Cyrill Faust.9340

I wouldnt say “its basically like bringing a 2nd war”. Even in a no requirements play how you want group, necro is the least useful class and doesnt really bring anything. A second warrior is actually pretty good in comparison. That said in those groups it really doesnt matter what you bring. And just bringing some extra dps might be all you need which is about the only thing necro can do (although not as good as most other classes).

@OP
I wouldnt worry about it. If Marjory is a good hint it looks like GS will be a power control weapon. And hopeful the necro specialisation will involve more support options and less selfish utility/buffs. Thats assuming anet have been listening to what necros have been asking for since release.

I agree, it is the least useful class but alot of people seem to take that out of context to mean that necro=trash when it simply mean that in the context of 5man pve instances(dungeons) necros are the least useful of the 8 classes.

I should elaborate on the 2nd war statement. When i play war i tend to bring all the class specific utility, both banners, fgj and PS if there is no ele or if they suck at might stacking in this situation a 2nd war and necro serve basically the same purpose, to hit stuff. While i don’t have the exact data at the moment if i remember right they are both about middle of the road dps wise.

I also hope the new specialization brings more group utility.

The problem when people talk about team compositions is that outside the few speed run guilds like D&T and RT is that no one actually runs optimal team comps so really it doesn’t matter if you bring your necro to a dungeon it’s basically like bringing a 2nd war. Also kicking isn’t something you really need to worry about ive never seen anyone kick a necro for being a necro( i have seen one kicked for killing the targeted cultist in fractles) or been kicked or asked to change when playing my necro and i generally join “zerk exp” groups so they seem like the most likely to kick.

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Cyrill Faust.9340

Cyrill Faust.9340

In fairness to the people who want to pay in gold, Anet gets just as much real $. It just comes from people buying gems and turning it into gold instead of spending it themselves (or buying more than normal and selling surplus)

Um, no, ArenaNet does not get as much real $. If the gold they spent they farmed ingame, ArenaNet gets nothing. Heh.

Your right they actually get more real money when someone converts gold to gems(because of the conversion fee). You see when you buy gems with gold they are buying gems that someone else bought with real money and converted to gold if the person buying gem with gold wasn’t there then the person buying gems to convert to wouldn’t be able to sell his gems and wouldn’t have bought them in the first place.

All gems(except for the relative few that come from achievements) are representative of real world currency so it doesn’t matter if the person exchanged in game gold for them or not they are representative of real world profit for Anet.

Also as some one who regularly pugs dungeons with a ranger ive NEVER been kicked or asked to change and i usually join zerk exp type groups, if someone does kick you for being a ranger they probably suck and just want to be carried.

So that said i think ranger would be a good fit for you but you my also want to look at scepter/X elementalists they also have a very active playstyle and it’s a mid range to close range weapon set also staff is only better dps if your enemies dont move out of your lava if they do you lose half you damage.

Other’s have said Eotm but I’ll repeat it. Eotm is a mix of pvp and pve it’s fast paced, there’s danger(form the other players), teamwork, good rewards, fast lvls, and no one will care that your not 80 because it’s basically the wvw newbie map.

You can throw then into the forge and hope for something half decent. Or something bad that you can at least salvage.

Ohh .. too late now .. all my character are 80 meanwhile

But you also get only 3 and aren’t they character bound, so you can’t even collect
them from more than 1 characters.

You use a mystic forge stone for the 4th

I can’t figure out why no one reads the warning message down below

I think a quote by George Carlin says it best “Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that”.

I’ve put out a warning in map about it a few times (the mail not stupid people), the only thing that can be done is attempt to educate people about it.

My friends played it said it was good, it was B2P so I gave it a try, friends quit cause they hit 80 and didn’t know what to do(this was back in early 2013). I kept playing cause I liked the combat and could set my own goals. I now have 3000k+ hrs 12 80s and 3 legendaries . I play with my fiance now, she started playing so we could do something together since we go to different schools about 1.5 hrs apart.

So you get an accesory called “Forgotten Seal” when you beat EP 8. I won’t take a jewel, you can’t salvage it, and it doesn’t show up in the MF, is this really just vendor trash?

Yeah you should have enough try to get to 450 quick so you can make your daily damask/mithrillium this will also cut some of the cost from getting to 500.

Current ''best'' Ele WvW roaming build

in Elementalist

Posted by: Cyrill Faust.9340

Cyrill Faust.9340

Hi there Forsving!

Im a little short on time right now, so I’ll only throw the basic information on the table now, and will give you a full guide later on today. (seems like you’re not in that much of a hurry anyways)

Starting off, you’ll need to know Elementalists are one of the trickiest classes in GW2 to play to their full extent, but they can change the tides of a fight anytime, even if still learning (especially if with an experienced team). That being said, 9 times out of 10 you’ll want to use DOUBLE DAGGERS as a weapon set. The build is usually 0/2/0/6/6, with a few little variations (will explain all later).

Gear-wise you want to get as close to Celestial stats as possible. This build has its own rotation which normally goes through as it is, but ofcourse needs to be adapted to situations often.

The idea is to open with air attunement; 4 for a gap close, 5 for a knockback. Then we swap to fire attunement, which grants us might. We use the skill 3 to again close the gap and land it on the enemy (knockback creates a gap about the length of this skill, so its a great combo), followed into a fire 4. We then want to swap to earth attunement while the fire fields are still up, and do a dodge, and use up all of your combo finishers to stack might on yourself. Hopping into Water attunement is only suggested for health sake, if you’re losing too much of it. You normally then repeat the procedure, with little variations. :P

Hope I satisfied your primary thirst, more coming later today

Regards, oRx

That is a very detailed tip! Thank you. I do get a good view on the rotation. I have indeed been aware that Ele’s are the trickiest class.. It didn’t take long to figure that out. But I’d like to think that aswell as being the trickiest class, it is also the class with most potential.

As I said before, I’m a roleplayer and therefor have little experience in PvP expressions… But I’m guessing celestial gear is ascended? Which is really gonna be a pain to get since I really suck at crafting and even with using gw2craft I have numerously failed.

If the recommended set is ascended only, please give me a few tips on runes and exotic gear to begin with once I get back.

Other than that, you’re feedback is already greatly appreciated.

I’m just gonna point out that you don’t need ascended armor It only adds 36(might be 40 for celestial) stat points total and less than 4% armor for a light armor class. So no you don’t need ascended armor, ascended weapons are nice because they do about 5% more damage but they aren’t too expensive if you have crafting leveled( about 40-50g), It’s mostly about skill though so exotic weapons are fine too. Other than that oRx gave a good run down of how to play roamer ele, just remember don’t just run through rotations mindlessly. The MOST important skills in WvW are situational awareness and adaptability.

whats the best and worst sigils?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Cyrill Faust.9340

Cyrill Faust.9340

Posted this in another thread awhile back, ill also +1 sigil of speed for open world perma swiftness is always nice.

Force- Awesome sigil I have it on all my none specialized weapon sets

Night-Great for many dungeons, but useless everywhere else, I wouldn’t put it on a general set

Slaying- For organized speed clears or if you run Arah alot.

Fire- The farmers best friend amazing at tagging mob, sometimes it can accidentally aggro mobs in dungeons though so be careful, also good for burst in WvW.

Air- A good companion to Force for all around usefulness, also good for burst in WvW

Accuracy-A good companion to Force for all around usefulness, good if you have on crit traits.

Frailty-A good companion to Force for all around usefulness, better for champs than trash, might be redundant if you have an Engi in your party.

Bloodlust- Good for your off hand set, not great in dungeons, good in WvW and Open World

Might-A good companion to Force for all around usefulness, can become redundant with a good ele/PS war in your party. Great for a PS warrior if you don’t have strength runes.

Energy- More dodges!!!!!

Battle- Good for unorganized pve for classes that swap alot engi, ele, war, maybe mes. Also useful in WvW on the first 3

The New Dailies -- Feedback welcome

Cyrill Faust.9340

Okay I’m gonna breakdown each of the categories and how long it took to get each.

PvE

Mystic forge- use the mystic forge once (just throw in some random greens/blues) if this is difficult for you just uninstall the game you fail at life.

Maguma Forager- gather five plants in the maguma region (again soooo difficult)

Queensdale events- people where calling events out in map-chat took 10mins at the most.

all together it took about 15mins if you include load screens

WvW

I went to an enemy borderland i walked to a close camp took it then the one next to it after that I got the sentry outside and walked over to the blood lust circle and stood there for 30 secs(Standing in a circle is probably the most difficult thing I’ve ever done :p) I only encountered 1 enemy player between the camps and they ran away(but i caught them and spiked em cause I’m a kitten) altogether about 10mins

PvP

I joined a hot join game on my thief got all 3 in one game. Even if you don’t have the class or lose every game you should still get 2 of them in the 1st match. The match took about 5mins.

The point of this is to prove that even if you exclusively play one game mode you can get 3 dailies in about 15mins at most. Anet did a great job introducing some variety and rearward into the daily system. If you actually have difficulty of it takes you a significant amount of time to get 3 of them you kinda suck at…… well basic cognitive functions.

Fractals and Gear

Stat wise full ascended armor only adds 36 stat points total 14 main 11 to each secondary( you also get about 5% more armor but everything that 1 shoted you before still will so that’s not really relevant for PvE). The reason people say you need ascended armor for fractals is so you can get more AR without having to buy high level agony infusions. You can run lvl 50 just as easy with exotic armor as ascended as long as you have the required 70 AR from other sources.

I should add that it is cheaper to make ascended armor than it is to buy the 3 +10 infusions that you would need to get to 70 AR. I find the best value for agony infusions is to go with 2×8 and a 9 to get 25 AR then you only need 1 piece of ascended armor( 2 if you want to use you amulet for a utility infusion). This is assuming you have full ascended weapons and trinkets of course.

Edit: My point is that ascended armor is mostly a vanity item the statistical difference between it and exotic armor is small enough to be irreverent(it’s basically the equivalent of 1/2 a might stack). Weapons and trinkets however are much more beneficial but relatively easy to acquire.

No, the best course of action is to pay attention or just tag and leave so you don’t upscale.

Crafting Sunrise

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Cyrill Faust.9340

Cyrill Faust.9340

Don’t forget that you can convert your T5 mats into T6. I believe it was 1 T6 mat, 50 T5 mats, 5 crystalline dust, and 5 philosopher’s stones into the MF. If you’re not using them for anything more important than Sunrise, they can definitely help speed the process.

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Ancient_Bone for one of them, and the others follow the same pattern.

Also, on the ectos, since you can get those easily by doing world bosses, don’t forget that you can salvage ectos now for crystalline dust as well. That was really handy for Bifrost, since it takes 3 stacks of crystalline dust.

I’d like to point out that for some you’ll lose money doing this Bones, and venom I belive the rest should be a profit since they’re for personal use not selling on the TP, but i haven’t done the math in a while.

Also i’ve been doing Silver Wastes and seem to get a good amount of T6 and money.

Edit: Gratz on Dawn OP that really is the hardest part

I just found this the other day. I you are opening a lot of bags or using luck you can use a Windows setting. Called Mouse Keys, you can find it searching in your control panel. This is to help people who have issues using a mouse. If you turn this option on, the default left click is the + on the number pad. Move your mouse cursor over the item you want to use and spam the +.

This is great, my mouse thanks you.

Gold from monsters

They changed this so that people would stop only running CoF P1. Level 80 mobs drop about 1s not all the time but it’s part of the loot roll. This might not seem like much but when you doing something like Mel temple (where your killing 100s of mobs) it adds up.
Gold find works with this so using omnom or raspberry bars during these events is also worth it.
