There’s a bug with one medium head piece from WvW vendor – it simply won’t unlock, regardless on what character you’d buy it. Maybe it is the problem you ran into?

Mentioned it in another thread somewhere, related to how Rogue and Marauder skins got mixed up in the database somewhere.

Pretty certain that even if your character can’t equip an item, you should be able to right-click-Unlock Skin on the character whom it’s soulbound to.

The problem with both of these events is the number of people they’re balanced about in relation to the population cap of the zone. Tequatl cannot be defeated if the zone isn’t soft-capped, there’s simply not enough people damaging him. Jungle Wurm pretty much can’t be defeated unless the zone is hard-capped.

This was an annoyance, but not that terrible a problem, back in the old system. Organized groups wanting to do these events just had to hop from one overflow to another until they got an empty or mostly empty one, taxi in, and go from there.

The megaserver system has pretty much ruined it. Forming up for Tequatl usually means starting an hour before the fight, and spending the next 40 minutes trying to get in a hundred people in the organization before the zone caps. The difficulty isn’t the fight themselves, the difficulty is having to work and play with the server system just to get the numbers you need to beat the events. The events are designed just fine the way they are, it’s the tuning that’s the problem, the fact that these events were tuned around numbers of people that require so much dancing with the overflow/megaserver system.

What they need to do, what they should have done from the start, and what they -especially- should have done prior to the megaserver switch, is instance these fights. Put in a way so that someone can generate a closed instance that overflow/megaserver people won’t be randomly assigned to, that people can get in only by taxi-ing, or being in the same guild, or whatever specific mechanic is settled upon.

Moving forward with any other large-scale events that they implement, they need to make sure to tune them around realistic numbers. Not ‘realistic’ as in ‘TTS can field 250 people, the hard cap is 150, so we’ll balance it around the 150 max’, but ‘realistic’ as in ‘The map soft-caps at 100. We can expect 25 or 30 or so to be off running heart quests, so we’ll balance it around 75 people, that way an organized run can form up before having to start using the back door.’

I’m fine with -repopulating- Lion’s Arch. Moving back the bankers, the trading post, the mystic toilet, et cetera, to more or less their original spots. Dunno if a full rebuild is needed though. Fix and clean up certain areas to make it traversable, but it would still for the most part be a wrecked ruin. Just a ruin that people have started to reclaim.

Sigils do affect death shroud. At least, some do, stacking sigils still build charges for kills you make during DS.

Signets, not sigils. Signets do not affect DS because they are unequipped, sigils do because transforms still use your sigils.

Yeah, was confused by the post where the OP said he mixed up sigils and signets.

One thing I noticed, I’m pretty sure that the Marauder (used to be Commando) set is supposed to be the default skin for dropped rare equipment. Currently the only item in the set using the Marauder skin is the helm, while the rest use the Rogue skin, which is already available from the lowest level of Karma merchants.
Coincidentially, you can get the Rogue helm from those merchants, and though it has a spot on the wardrobe, this particular piece cannot be unlocked.

It looks like someone transcribed some wrong pieces of data in the database. Hopefully it should be a quick fix, because hopefully there’s still a dev or programmer who’s focus is on this after the recent wardrobe change

As for Stalwart’s armor, the same problem exists for the Apostle (light) and Heavy Scale (heavy) sets. Certain pieces can be got through story missions, but there’s now no way to acquire the full set in game.

Logged on and checked the trading post, it was up. Went to sell some stuff. The first item I put up for sale, hit the sell button, took about 30-45 seconds to return the “Error attempting to sell” message. The item is now gone from my inventory and wasn’t on the “Items I’m selling” or “Items I’ve Sold” list, before the “My Transactions” tab was back to Down for Maintenance. So the trading post seems to be accessible when you first log on, but then eats the first item you’re trying to sell.

Which was an Eternity I was trying to sell. And it got eaten. Yeah. >_>

Dunno if this is the right place to ask, but I’m two achievements away from the meta (finding the pirate treasure chests, and don’t get shocked in the electric room), and it’s bugging the hell out of my OCD.

Trying to put together a list of issues with the Wardrobe, from bugs with various skins, skins that used to be acquired but no longer can be, and other general issues. Please feel free to add any that you find.

Heavy:
Galea (Warrior Starting Helm) – Does not have a skin in the wardrobe, cannot be unlocked

Medium:
Karma Series 1 (Rogue Armor) – Headpiece can be acquired via karma or badges of honor, and there is a slot for it in the wardrobe, but the skin cannot be unlocked.

Karma Series 4 (Buccaneer Armor) – Karma merchants that sell Tier 4 gear instead sell the Tier 3 (Stalker) headpiece, but the skin can still be acquired in wvw

Loot Series 5 (Marauder Armor) – Only the headpiece for this set drops, all other pieces instead use the Rogue Armor skin. This probably has something to do with why the Rogue headpiece doesn’t unlock. The Chest, Shoulders, and Legs can be acquired in personal story missions, but the hands and feet have no way of acquiring.

So now that the change to celestial gear and ferocity has been around a few weeks, how well is celestial armor stacking up? Have a few Malicious armor boxes I was holding onto, unsure if I should use them for celestial (since it’s so pain in the kitten to get) or use them for dire/rabid on another character.

Little bit of clarificiation, this is for a wvwvw ele with celestial armor and zerk trinkets, wondering if it’d be better to use soldier instead of the new celestial.

Hypothetical question. For anyone who knows for certain that they should have got the achievement with combat logs to back them up et cetera, did you kill the berserker first or last? Since most people by far kill the berserker first, I’m wondering if you have to kill the firestorm first and jump over the shockwaves in both phases to get.

Problem isn’t so much that it wasn’t just in the release note. A few weeks back when they did the whole big livestream event and went over in detail all the changes that were going to be made to traits and why they were making those changes, guess which change wasn’t mentioned then either.

“Unlock Skin” is the option that saves the skin of an actual piece of equipment.

“Store in Vault” is the option that saves the skin of an item that you doubleclick to apply its skin to an actual piece of equipment.

IE, if you buy an armor set from the gem store, “Store in Vault” would be the option for the items you recieve, whereas “Unlock Skin” would be the option for any items that you applied that skin to already.

One difference is “Store in Vault” destroys the item in question, but it’s a moot point; either you destroy it and it goes to the vault, or you apply it to a piece of equipment which expends the item and still stores the skin to the vault.

Probably mentioned many places elsewhere in this and the forums.

Before today’s patch, an item’s “name” was tied to it’s skin. So if you transmuted an item with X skin and name onto item Y’s states, it would hold the name with the new stats.

During the switch, this was changed, so now an item’s “name” is tied to the stat item, not the skin item, leading to things like someone’s “Final Rest” or “The Crossing” now being named “Citadel of Flame Berserker Staff of whatever”, and can be quite jarring, especially if someone tries to link an item when someone asks “What’s that kitten skin?”

Please revert it so that the name of an item is tied to its skin, even if it’s going by the skin’s name in the wardrobe instead of its original name.

T6 Mats and How not to buy them all?

Do clovers first, as mentioned. Any clovers you don’t get, you’ll get T6 mats instead.
Farm the above mentioned areas, stockpile any T5 and T6 mats that you get.
Keep an eye on the Trading Post prices. If it’s worth trying to upgrade the T5 mats in the toilet, do so. If not, just sell the T5 mats and spend that much on T6 mats. IE, sell 50s worth of T5 bloods and then buy 50s worth of T6. Probably more efficient ways to go about it, but doing it like that made me feel like I was making progress.

You should have one group of people waiting at the spawn site of each batch of turret adds, no more, no less. Less and you probably won’t be able to kill them fast enough, more and you’ll upscale that area and won’t be able to kill them fast enough.

Regarding charr and asura, there’s already plenty of armor skins, particuarly heavy, that end up in exposed chests on female charr and asura. There’s nothing there that shows, but if this is a concern for some people regarding cultural, it’s already an issue and nobody’s made a stink about it.

Anet covered the orrian armor heavy. They won’t leave an exposed nipple on a female human/norn character. Asura and Charr don’t have nipples, nor do Sylvari.

My point wasn’t so much about humans, norns, or sylvari. Those races have both male skins and female skins, whereas charr and asura only use the male skin regardless of gender. People were mentioning that some of the cultural skins have exposed chests which would result in ‘topless’ charr and asura, and I was just pointing out how this is already the case with non-cultural armor.

It’s been confirmed by ANet staff that Zhaitan is really dead. No more, bereft of life, pushing up the daisies, et cetera.

In fact, back in Beta, his corpse was visible in Arah explorable mode, both on the map and in the zone itself. For whatever reason they took it out before release.

Do you have the source of that available? Simply because I’d like to see it for myself so I can factually say so to others..

They could add these songs to some of the boss fights added to fractals.
Twisted Marionette Part 1 would fit in nicely to the Mai Trin fight. Same thing with Twisted Marionette Part 2 and the Molten Duo fractal.
For the Thaumanova boss, I’m thinking Part 3 of the Breachmaker fight.

All of the Fractal bosses have unique (from each other) music except the newly added ones, so they seem perfect to add in some of the awesome Living Story music that isn’t elsewhere in the game anymore.

Norn Snow Leopard racial can lead to some pretty awesome fun in small roaming groups, particuarly if you have a group of four or even five norns all pop it at once.

Aside from that, Asura would be your best bet due to their size.

I don’t get why people are wanting stat combos that already exist, just switching the primary from one to another (ie Rampager with a Power major, or Knight with a Power major). Assuming that the OP is seriously looking for input and not just throwing a bone to placate us, this is a chance to come up with some ideas for new combinations that could be useful by filling gaps, not just shuffling a few stats around.

Aside from that, I agree with other mentions that what we don’t need is Condition Damage + Condition Duration + whatever. Condition damage as a thing is horribly broken; next to worthless in PvE, overpowered in PvP and WvW. Once they start doing things to actually fix the way it’s implemented in PvE perhaps it could get a boost like that, but simply adding that sort of boost for the PvE game would make it even more horrendously overpowered in PvP and WvW.

Trash in Arah is designed to be skipped, not fought. If they wanted trash to be intended to be killed, they’d have either put in doors that only open when a certain area is cleared, or they’d put worthwhile loot on the trash.

A few weeks back, 8 Sparks were on the market, cheapest was under 600g.
About two weeks ago, they all disappeared off the market, and all 8 were back on a few days later, cheapest was 750.
And today, they all disappeared again, and have popped back on the market for over 1000.

So, yeah, people are manipulating the market. Who knows how long till it comes back down.

Also, between Apothecary and Settler’s, I personally would like to see one of those revamped for Condition damage as the major stat, as both sets share the same three attributes, with one of Healing Power as the major and the other as Toughness. Both of these have the defensive stat as the major and there’s nothing with the Offensive major. I’d rather see one of them revamped rather than add a third set, because it’s probably overkill having three sets with the same three attributes. Same reason I don’t think we need a set of Fero(Major)/Power/Precision.

A lot of people seem to be asking for Power/Precision/Vitality. That one should be easy, as it’s already in the game in PVP mode with the Barbarian prefix. So seems that one should be a no-brainer.

I’d also like to see a couple more sets with Precision and Ferocity together, since they work in tandem but are only on two sets, Berserker and Assassin, both of which are already the most heavily used sets by far. Spreading this out might increase a bit of diversity.

Pre/Fero/Condi, Pre/Fero/Vit or Pre/Fero/Tough for example.

The way I understand it (and someone might have done the testing to back me up or disprove me) is:

Scarlet’s Slaying potions work on the base species. So they work on regular Dredge, Flame Legion, Nightmare Court, and Krait.
Base species potions do not work on those specifically in Scarlet’s Armies. So Dredge or Flame Legion potions do not work on Molten Alliance, and Krait/Nightmare potions do not work on Toxic Alliance.

Mistlock Instabilities as a whole should have been thought out and tested a hell of a lot more before release for bugs like this. I’m reminded of the Regen instability that made Mai Trin unkillable, since you could never get her below the 75% cannon barrage.

In any case, I would report this as a bug in-game.

Think you misunderstood me. Not a trait that grants stability using Last Refuge’s mechanics. Completely taking Last Refuge out and pretend it never happened, and just putting AE in its current form in its place.

If that’s the case its still pretty bad. Just like hard to catch, its too clunky to work with and not worth a GM trait (H2C used to be GM, still not worth it even as a master). Also many people have pointed out the incredibly obvious, why get stability and soak up CC when you can evade its effects and the damage that comes with it? I mean you’re already in acrobatics.

Yes, it is still pretty bad. But it’s still much more useful than Last Refuge, a trait that actively contributes to getting you killed. And by replacing Last Refuge with it, it would move it to the Shadow Arts tree where it is much more appropriate for a trait involving stealth. And by making it a minor trait, you wouldn’t even have to waste points on it.

Quick and easy solution to both Assassin’s Equilibrium and Last Refuge.

Take Last Refuge and completely scrap it.
Make Assassin’s Equilibrium the Shadow Arts adept Minor trait.

Kills two birds with one stone, getting rid of a broken minor trait, and putting AE in both the trait line and trait level (adept minor) it deserves.

Then all they have to do is make a new Acrobatics GM Major trait.

That would be an incredibly powerful 5-point adept trait, don’t you think?

1 second of stability that can only be triggered after A) Going into stealth and Successfully landing a hit and C) Timing both A and B perfectly so that the stability is still up when the applicable hit lands? Nope, not incredibly powerful at all for a 5-point trait. Having this stability actually block a hit boils down to pure luck. And a trait that only works on pure luck is still less effective than most 5-point traits out there, but I’d still happily take it as a replacement for Last Refuge.
