Bump, I still can’t get pass that 1 file over the past 2 days.

And it seems that Anet is totally ignoring us.

I’m using charge-by-data internet and this is getting more and more expensive and there seems to be no end to the loading. This is BS.

Death Shroud and Weapon draw

DS is intended to remove weapons. If anything, allowing for the appearance of weapons by sheathing them is what’s bugged :P

Interesting because I was wondering about this as well. But it looks so much cooler with weapon plus the hand appears to be in a position as if it is holding weapon when in ds (at least for the right hand)

If death shroud is used when weapons are being drawn, the weapons will become invisible unless the character leaves death shroud. The only way to keep weapons visible while in death shroud is to use death shroud when weapons are sheathed.

Not game breaking or anything but would be nice if it gets fixed.

When mantras are charged at 3 stacks and the character move to another areas that change level scale, either up or down, the stacks reset to 2. This includes WPing to different areas in maps, changing maps, getting in & out of instances, etc.

They are gradually adding it up. Give it a year or two if there isn’t much problem I think each class will have at least one skill with reveal function. The thing is Anet wants to make sure that thief is not overly countered by some classes. Reveal for ranger and engi don’t really do much. Reveal for warrior or mesmer, on the other hand, could be a complete death sentence for thief.

If you think this thread is about me crying over Moa Form, you should probably just go away – You most likely wont be able to contribute in any way.

And some of you say its bad..? How is turning a 5v5 into a 5v4 not good? How is it not beneficial to turn someone defending a point into a Moa?

Sure you can run away, but thats not really a good way to earn points for your team. . .
And when you beat a mesmer, who has turned you into a Moa, you know you found someone, who had no clue what a keyboard was…

What I don’t get about most of these comments, is that you guys seem to defend the skill, while still saying its bad… If its bad, then how about trying to come up with a way to make it valid, while still not OP?

Any players with decent experience will run when they get moa’d. That’s the ultimate point of the skill when facing up decent players. You stated it yourself. It forces Lich necro to get out of the fight, it forces annoying bunker GD to get out of the point, it forces condi engi to run, and so on.

Another reason for using it is when the team wants to focus kill, which in that case you won’t survive anyway, the moa comes in just to make things a bit easier.

It’s the whole point of the skill, warding one person out of the enemy team. It’s just that the jackpot fell on your head. The skill will never be removed just because it’s OP in 1vs1 aspect which is not what the game is all about. It turns 5vs5 into 5vs4.5. And THAT’S THE WHOLE POINT OF IT. IT’S AN ELITE.

On the contrary, Lich form can instab gib 3-4 people in less than 10 seconds. You should be complaining about that instead.

If I am to follow anet logic. The reasons why those soft CCs are there is because they are supposed to take up condition cleanse, which anet seems to forget that many condi-cleanses directly cleans immo, other than that they are cleanses which clean 2+ condi anyway.

There are very few cleanses that would fall into that design (a cleanse that clear less than 2 condi with no priority). That’s why it’s useless.

Or when he come back dodge again, or as a thief evade or blind spam him, you choose… You can see the warrior all the time.

Warriors can do all those thing with just one build. You’re asking a thief to both evade and blind spam which can’t exist in a single build. Then previously you said a thief can land as much dmg with backstab which is a whole other build. Get your facts straight.

An evade thief has the most horrid dmg of them all, a d/p thief can choose to blind spam but it won’t last more than 3 times and he has to remain in a confined area which can be completely countered by /dance outside the blind radius, a full backstab thief has ZERO retreat — it’s a kamikaze build, that is if you want to reach a comparable dmg.

You, sir, are grasping. Backstab thief is annoying but there is much higher risk than an insta gib 12k dmg that homes to target. Anyone with a decent brain knows it. I have 8 lv 80s fully geared and I KNOW it.

The point of Opening Strike is actually for stacking vulnerability. With longbow it could reach 25 stacks very easily (hence it’s in Markmanship line). That’s where the dmg is supposed to come from. The Crit shot is just a bonus. (you can enter stealth then swap to gs and #2)

At least that’s how it works. Good or not, players decide.

Like title said, I assume from its functionality that this trait is supposed to indirectly make your pet stronger by being more in-yo-face .The thing is (as not that much of a cookie cutter as it is) I feel like ranged pets can utilize very little to none from this trait.

Please make it so that the trait increase running speed by 30% and maybe +20% range, Idk number can be adjusted but you get the idea. It’s kinda sad when you trait full bow and fire at 1500 range when your spider pets have a sad 900 attack range, even lower due to the “smart kitten ” AI that somehow always forces them to get closer to enemy than they should be.

I use lockdown from time to time. If you aim for disabling enemies, this build is very effective against Necro and Ele due to their limited stability and a lot of their skills have >0.5-1 cast time, plus these two classes need to constantly use skills. On the other hand, supposed that no stability or any anti CC are involved, lockdown is still pretty strong against Warrior and Engineer. Mesmer is the hardest to lock because most of its skills have very low cast time, are very hard to read and mesmers don’t have that many skills or combo to use to begin with. Against Ranger, it kinda depends on what weapon it is using, if it’s a longbow then it’s easy to interrupt, other than that, not much. For a thief, you don’t aim for disabling, you aim for interrupting damage. If you can land 3-4 consecutive hits of interrupt, that thief is pretty much either dead or almost dead. Guardian is almost immune to interrupt due to constant stability/invul/blind/block so that’s out of the picture.

This trait extends daze duration by 25% while also give daze a chance of stunning for 1 sec. The problem is I feel like this trait is rather self-contradicting. If I want a build that relies on daze duration (preventing enemies from using skills for a long time), I would need mesmer rune, paralyzation sigil and this trait. This would normally extend daze duration by about 88%. So a 1 second daze lasts almost about 2 seconds.

The thing is, the stun effect lasts only 1 second, and once the enemy is stunned, it overrides daze and the daze duration that I stack up become completely useless. I understand that some people think stun is a stronger effect compared to daze. yeah I agree, but the trait gives more premise toward daze duration not stunning. And supposed that I want to go for dazing build not stunning build, the 50% chance of stunning rather gimps the build instead of making it stronger.

In conclusion, can we make it so that stun doesn’t override daze or vice versa? (meaning you can be dazed and stunned at the same time) This way I can utilize both the daze duration and the stun effect. I have a perception that stun breakers still break all control effects at once (if you are dazed and stunned, one stun breaker will break both) so I don’t think there will be a problem of it being OP.

I found it to be more of a cover condition. Cripple/Torment/Confusion, the real dmg will come from confusion, which means you have to trait/rune/food till you get 100% duration increase. And since you’re AoE shattering, it’s also wise to get boon-removing trait by shattering.

Conclusion, it’s a support team build. 3 conditions are enough to force enemies to use hard condi cleanse, that or eat confusion and die while fighting your friends or stand still and get killed.

So what happened to Mimic?

No seriously, this works fine, my favorite skill and now that they ruined my mantra build for the most part I can go back to using it more. I love using it on necros in their forms, various engineer things I can grab, catching ice bow 5 is really nice or all the fire/earth projectiles from eles, poison shots from several classes since that is one condition we don’t get much of… the list goes on. Now true, unless you see them pull an ice bow or see the poison green line 99% of the time you have no clue what you caught which I’d LOVE if they added to the tooltip(like if it has a condition make the picture the condition), but that would be A LOT of work most likely due to it’s special functionality, so I don’t expect it. I think they updated the tooltip recently so it actually tells you about the blocks/reflects.

This skill is pretty essential for a reflect build, don’t get this skill messed up. Even as an Asura I can run in front of my team and jump around reflecting quite a lot for 4 seconds and it’s not as obvious as feedback so many people take themselves out shooting at me. Secondly it’s great(and about the only reason to run) the Retaliatory Shield, when fighting a zerg or even a team in PvP I can get a good amount of retal from just this skill, also fun with Guardian Runes for condition builds.

Sure it’s a one trick pony you need to setup for, but it’s a one trick pony with a fairly low CD(hard to find) and I find it extremely useful when welding a staff(since you can start it with your own bounce).

About the only reasonable suggestion I see is to make it instant cast(which will require them to add ‘break stun’ to it). While we don’t NEED another stun breaker, having so many fits our class pretty well, we are all about the mind games and breaking tactics(And the infinite knockdown/daze tactic is getting pretty old and needs more counter anyhow). So ANET other then this, I urge you to ignore this whole thread. There is some love for this skill out there.

So TL:DR, if you don’t ‘like’ Mimic you haven’t really tried it long(it has a learning curve, and is greatly better with specialized builds, but short CD near invuln if you do it right even otherwise)

I never mentioned that I don’t like this skills, neither did I tell the devs to change it to anything. I’m only pointing out the fact that the devs mentioned that this skill wasn’t working as intended so I wonder what exactly they planned to do with it. What is wrong with you telling devs to ignore people’s threads? Reading skill much?

Boon/Condition bar (and icon) for pets please

As the title says, now that pet skills show cooldown number, can we also get boon/condition bar as well? It would make pet management a lot easier. And maybe give us an icon to show where the pets are as well, those things always get lost amidst clustered combat area.

Once upon a time, one of the devs mentioned that Mimic doesn’t work as it was intended and it caused broken behaviour such as ko’ing boss with agony in one blow. I took it that they would do something about it, like making a change. Months have passed and mimic is still the same, aside from those exploits that were fixed.

First of all, this is not a qq, so save your childish insults and yes I’m from BG, if that matters.

Point is, I just want to know if this was ever thought of when devs designed the wvw. I get the “smaller servers team up to fight larger server” kinda vibe but it seems to me that at this point it’s not just that, it’s basically only about players deciding who’s gonna win.

1) If people want BG to win -> no team up, let their coverage rules, BG wins
2) If people want JQ to win -> team up, trade wins to push BG down, and we all know TC can’t beat JQ so JQ wins
3) If people want TC to win -> team up, trade wins to push BG down, then maybe if JQ is that philanthropic, they would like TC win

It seems… ridiculous to me. I’m not talking about whether it’s fair or not fair. I’m talking about whether this makes sense to make the design that people can pretty much decide who’s gonna win. It makes the whole fights seem pointless.

And it’s not just about tier 1, pretty much any tier can do this if they will it.

I mean, as a relative comparison, ranger which is supposed to be master of LB is so sub-par when compared to war’s LB: the damage, the synergy, the functionality, nothing, ranger LB doesn’t have anything significant that makes the class worth being called master of bow.

So I’ve been thinking about it for fun and suddenly I’m confused as to what exactly scarlet was trying to achieve with her action.

Ok, everyone knows that she’s been wreaking havoc here and there but in the few last LS releases, it appeared to imply that Scarlet saw the force behind the nature in Omadd’s machine. I remember reading an article on the official website, it’s like an excerpt from the writer of the LS explaining what she saw in her dream. gabba gabba gabba she saw the order in the nature of things and she felt like she didn’t want to follow what was given to her, she wanted to destroy that system and set herself free. So she came out as Scarlet and start building things up to achieve her plan.

My point is… did she want to wake the dragon(by this point we all know she made contact with the dragon somehow in the machine) because she’s corrupted by it or because she wanted to kill it? The first doesn’t seem to make sense to me since it contradicts with the “I want to destroy that system” agenda. If she’s corrupted by the dragon and want to wake him up and be his champion, shouldn’t it be more like “I am the prophet of destruction” kind of mentality? The latter seems to make more sense to me..it also goes with the “one day Tyria will need me” sentence that she said.

Cheese is the build that..
1) Requires your to activate, in general, no more than 3-4 skills to win
2) Makes you feel almost nonexistent pressure from fighting your enemies
3) Makes you feel that not many things could go wrong. For elaboration, if I run dps shatter mesmer and the shatter misses, there’s a 50/50 chance I would die cuz I miss my burst and my enemies are still running full hp. If a s/p thief miss its 3, they can spam it again, and again and again cuz even if they miss they’re evading other attacks.
4) Also usually doesn’t require any setup. You just press 1-2 skills and you reach your objective, coinciding with the first point.

I think cheese is the product of poor class design. In my opinion, a good build is a build that requires you to at least set up certain moves before delivering the final blow. It should have the opening/sustaining/finishing kind of mentality. This would make it challenging as it requires some extent of skill to make sure that things go as planned. Rushing to your enemy and press 234, win, is very dumb.

Putting conditions on pet control?

Technically speaking, is it not possible to do so? If you can’t make a smart AI, which is understandable, then why don’t you make it so that players can set conditions on when/where/how the pet would react to its environment? Take the party control system in Dragon Age Origin for example (even a game as old as Dungeon Siege had this).

Say. You can expand F1 skill and choose the option regarding how you want your F1 to command your pet… ex.

Expand F1> 1) Fetch -> pets attack and return to you once the target is dead
2) Aggressive -> pets continuously attack every target
3) Guard -> pets only attack anything that attack the rangers

Now for pet skills, you can separate it into different layers of control, for example,

First layer
Default mode: Pets use skills as originally scripted
Trained mode: Pets only use skills according to the “training”
Semi-trained mode: Pets prioritize default mode and will activate skills according to the training if applicable

Second layer, the training, this will only activate if you choose the Trained mode or semi-trained mode

For each skill your pets have besides auto attack, you can set up conditions on when these skill should be executed.

For example, the first tier of the condition will specify whether it will be focused on the ranger, allies or enemies and then the next tier will define the next condition at narrower scope.. say we’re talking about Bear’s endure pain, it would be like

Open pet window, click Endure Pain skill, there pops the first tier of condition

Endure pain
First tier > 1- Ranger
2- Allies
3- Enemy
4- Pets

Say, I select enemy

Second tier > 3- Enemy > 1-HP
2-Condition

Say, I select HP

Third tier > 3- Enemy > 1-HP > 1- More than 75%
2- More than 50%, less than 75%
3- Less than 50%

Say, I select less than 50%, so the final training for Bear’s endure pain would be like….

Use this skill [endure pain] when the [bear’s] target enemy’s HP is less than 50%

You got the idea.. It won’t be perfect, but it should at least make pet more manageable, although I’m not really sure if this is possible to implement.

The leyline sequence runs from LA to Thaumanova reactor. The reactor is next to the locked map. Judging from the direction, it went straight to Magus Falls. I have no idea what the 3rd scenery is but it looks like it could be the falls. (hence Magus Falls).

You know, Moa isn’t an I win button, I have gotten away many times as one. Moa is more of a your an annoying theif and I am tired of you popping stealth every 3s seconds so I am going to make you actually fight.
