Just remove that stupid special button thingie that doesn’t add anything of value to the gameplay, and that’s all.
They added the special action button first for raids, then with the first level of Ancient Magics mastery. I kind of like being able to use it for different enemies (although Jade constructs are still a pain), and if you don’t like the key it is bound to, it’s quite easy to change it to another one. The initial battle did require reactions that were far too short to be practical, but that got tuned down after the day one fix.
I extremely dislike this! For those who use a gaming mouse, adding a 5th profession skill and now the “special action”, it goes beyond the 20 buttons of most gaming mice. Poor designing…
Sine you can’t really chose placement, give them a pass at first. If continued, since there’s usually only one instance of Malchor’s running, YES report frequently!

How about scaling Auric Basin to better suit the now lower population levels post nerfing??? Can’t even get one pylon done during NA prime. Also, having the extreme annoyance of having 5 maps implode in a half hour. It’s NOT fun when you can’t get anything done.
Yeah, I noticed some frustration this week with triggering Shroud. It appeared to me as the user error of double tapping. Though somethings changed in a way that’s either causing instantaneously leaving of shroud or a delay that’s causing me to double tap to trigger shroud. I’ve been running many Reaper’s in the new map and thru the latest Living Story this past week and noticed this occurring.
I will pay more attention and be mindful of when it occurs.
We’re all allowed to walk away from the game for real life reasons. That’s why they have a timer that will kick us to the character screen.
For Kessex, that’s simply waiting for the nodes to respawn. Nothing wrong with that at all.
Are you at least checking first? Are you whispering and waiting 5 minutes to see if the person is there or just went for a bio? I have a feeling people just mass spam the report button out of hate for anything not done “their way” in game. It’s pretty sad really. I play the game the way I want to play it and let others do the same. Unless you are actively trying to grieve another player, I don’t report them.
For any of the new currencies, I WvW and PvP for them. Reward Tracks are great!
We’re aware of a bug where loading screens can sometimes take 2+ minutes to complete; more often after playing in WvW for a while than elsewhere in GW2. We’re working on a fix in such a way that it can be selectively tested on Live, since it affects a vital area of GW2 behavior (loading screen timing), and is rare/difficult to reproduce in a testing environment.
In the meantime, if there aren’t queues in the maps you’re playing in, there’s a possible work-around. Switching maps— either by exiting WvW or just moving to a different WvW map momentarily— appears to get your client “unstuck” from the long loading screen behavior.
Been having slower loading from the startup screen to the game window opening too Chris. Been really annoying actually. At the moment I’m downloading a fresh game file on a brand new SSD trying to fix some issues.

Presumably Anet has the actual data regarding map use. If they see the alpines getting way more play, then I can’t imagine they’ll just let that sit without doing something about it (even if that’s just another poll to measure what people think).
Until then, just use a different map. I’ve never felt “forced” to use it, so don’t.

About scoring, the extra PPT added recently lends to PPK needing adjustment up too. A World with a weak 0.6 KDR shouldn’t be winning. That means the are simply out populating, back capping empty maps, or sitting in upgraded keeps with siege.
I have zero doubt that the DBL has far less activity than Alpine or EBG. If you look at the amount of deaths on that map, it’ll probably show it is far less used. The Dev’s should know this too.
The vote should have simply been, do you like or dislike. Though our behavior in WvW should illustrate our true preferences. Which puts DBL in far last place.
Dev’s, give all players a Wintersday gift and nerf this build already. A year is long enough! Otherwise, you know what we have to do boys, all roll one until Anet’s forced to fix them.
Since the recent update of upgraded structures giving more points PPK, even during prime hours except for reset(nothing is upgraded) has been pretty useless. There is no reason a server with a 2.0 kdr with mass amount of kills should lose a match. That means the other server is getting rolled and needs to be shown through the score. 5-10 points per kill should do the trick.
No, Omniblobbing shouldn’t be the highest rewarded behavior in WvW. Seeing that you’re from Mag, I can see why you’d ask for that behavior to be rewarded as that’s all Mag does.
JQ never blobs? all servers blob so that’s a silly point. Everyone blobs and the funnest part of this game is fighting not upgrading keeps. aoe cap, lack of guilds and tags encourages blobbing so nothing we can do about that. If you guys think back capping and siege humping is the way to go then by all means let’s keep it the way it is i guess.
Look, I’d rather fight in EB or over a keep, than chase 3 people around an empty map for hours because they insist on back capping. If you want to raise PPK fine, raise it to 7 points then.

I think someone was not telling you the truth. Its getting near to re-linking, its Wintersday, BG choosing not to play WvW is why you are seeing less people.
If BG gets reopened again, might as well /resign. Lets hope Anet will not fall for this again.

Problem with Condi War is Adrenal Healing is nuts, plus all the condi. Necro is no where near that level of output vs sustain.
Yeah, but what if you are a scrub and don’t have to face Team PZ during your placement matches? Then you can win a bunch and get a high rating. A good player faces Team PZ players, looses and ends up with low rating. Doesn’t seem fair.
Day 1 and 2 had plenty of PZ tags in my matches, was annoying to see Primordial Legend floating around everywhere. Those matches were far better than the past two days. Seems if you hit any sort of lose streak, match making will punish you right into the dirt.
Seems Anet’s math is:
Tier Maches: (low MMR group) vs (high MMR group) = lulz
This entire season seems tainted. I had a 57% win rate last season. Started of the first 3 day of this season at the same. Got right into Gold 3 which seemed fine. Became annoyed quickly as the first 10 matches in gold was filled with past Legendary players. (Gold shouldn’t have PZ in them) It was fine afterwards for a couple days. Now the past 36 hours, I’m a 20-25%! That’s not my “skill” or anything about me as a player. It’s bad math in the match making. Now I’m stuck losing a week because that’s the only way we’ve ever been able to unfudge MMR hell in Anet’s system.
And, you don’t think stuffing the top 250 with accounts is wrong, at all? So basically the Top 250 is really going to be what, Top 50 – 75 players if it keeps getting stuffed with alt accounts?
From my perspective, was doing fine until Thursday when I hit a lose streak wall. A 60% win rate first few days and then instant 30% if I’m lucky. Only played 3 this morning from a starting 4v5, then two losses. Matches shouldn’t start unless everyone is present! Which irks me to no end.
The problem I see with this season is that it’s extremely meta dependent, that’s the luck of the Anet draw. If you don’t like or aren’t that good with a couple of specific builds, you aren’t going to win much. When there’s those of us still running accounts for the back packs, we’re stuck with the Profession achievement. That’s going to force us to play inferior professions and builds if we do not like the Meta. It’s going to force players to abandon this season early. Population is already dropping and queues are increasing rapidly.
Being someone still going for the back piece, I’m not thrilled with this season. Having to use 3 Professions is killing my rating.
I’d be happier if Facet of Light was put back to +1 energy.

Just like previous seasons, there’s this “screw you wall” where the game just starts putting you into impossible matches. Absolutely no fun to have such poor quality match’s either.

The longer the season runs, the better matches will gets. It hasn’t even been 12 hours yet. There are a lot of people that will be going through placement matches for a while, and they don’t have a fully accurate rating yet. This ‘wall’ could just be players getting home from work and school and playing PvP for the first time today.
I’ll try but, we’ve always had a “Log on Lose Streak” in GW2. It’s always appeared to be beyond our control and the more you engage a lose streak, the deeper you end up digging kitten. Some of us used to take a week off from PvP if it was severe enough. Going from 7-3 to 1-4, exactly when the ratings kicked in, tells me it’s more the game than my performance.

War score floaters: “When a player is killed, the war score will appear above the player.”
Is it me or this really shouldn’t be a thing? We must have a way to turn this off or any large scale combat is going to be terribly annoying with these floaters.
Magwagon doesn’t have many roamers left but we do enjoy going tagless, squadless and without TS 1-pushing BG guilds. I’m sure someone will find a way to put the blame on us but the KDR doesn’t lie.

You know, that sounds like a plan to me. In fact, how about Anet adjusts Mag and YB up to kitten fight BG. That sounds like an awesome idea to me.
The last mass transfer was a brutal blow for WvW, Mag is a close second but BG still heavily out populates them. What we currently have is 1 T0 server (BG) 1 T1 Server (Mag) and I don’t even know at this point 5 T2 Servers? (SBI, YB, TC, FA, JQ). Anet really needs to man up admit their Formula/Algorithm is flat out wrong. I don’t even think there is a reasonable way of fixing this disaster at this point.
It’s not the algorithm that’s the problem. It’s the fact people deliberately manipulate it.
Which means it’s the Algorithm, if it can be so easily manipulated it should not be used because it obviously is giving incorrect information, and yet they still believe it to be gospel. It’s not like it’s a best kept secret that certain servers have been manipulating population counts for quite sometime now. The Algorithm is failing due to this, therefore it is not a properly functioning tool that populations should be based off of.
Without it being made public, there’s no way for us to know what the Algorithm is measuring. One thing is for certain, it’s easy to manipulate an opponent’s status.

Well if a server manage to have the skill, dedication and coordination to simultaniously blockade the spawn on enemy borders with 70+ people each and blockade homeborder beyond the map limit (you need ~200-250 people to control citadel and would probably still have gaps small groups can slip through) and have the 100+ people required to blockade the wide EBG spawns…
I applaud that server because it literally broke the game.
Save them, it was just Mag spawn camping YB in EB. And, it’s not hard to do if there’s a 2v1.
Tell me about it. Although, I’m going to guess that at the very least your linked server’s entire WvW population didn’t take a hiatus from the match up because of personality differences. That makes for a loooong week when you’re being farmed at every corner of the map.

BG and Mag are super stacked T1’s right now. JQ lost our OCX and two NA guilds to Mag the past couple weeks. While 2 of our Sea went to BG last week. So I’m going to laugh when Anet locks JQ, which should be in about 7 hours, and say’s we have more players than anyone.

Still waiting for ANet to fix WvW so that it can become a competitive game mode that actually encourages “healthy” competition & not burn-out.
She just said they are thinking of lowering the pop cap AGAIN! That’s going to lead to less numbers. Which leads to more and more hours of OT’ing to win. Burn-out, it’s just going to get worse.
After reading Mkenna’s post in the other thread about BG somehow having (or used to have) a lower population then JQ, would it be possible to add glicko points for JQ and/or TC to give them a better chance roll a tier 1 match? I think this would produce a better matchup.
Anet’s capacity to measure population is becoming laughably broken. JQ does not have BG or simply T1 number’s, period. If JQ did, it would show in our performance. I mean seriously, we lost our OCX and [KeK] to Mag. But, Anet can keep on saying what it’s saying, no ones buying it.
The population caps are too small now. The metrics for measuring what a “WvW player” is needs to be far stricter too. Look at the voting, flip a camp or two and the system shoots you an email. As if doing the daily is all it takes to be considered a WvW player.
Thinking about it, it would probably be better to go down to two or three tiers and have an instance scaling (mega server) during NA prime. The scaled maps should be a new type of map that has open fighting areas and high turn over objectives, maybe capture the flag type events? Thinking outside the box atm.
