Rare exotics like destroyer weapons are meant to be a middle ground between normal exotics and legendaries so they require a grind toget but nowhere near the craziness of legendaries

The point is that if you go and get an exotic from AC it’s just as good as any destroyer weapon or legendary, there is no grind to be geared up

For now, if they end up adding ascended weapons and armor, then you will have a point.

Well thats the thing though they are going to be adding ascended level weapons and armor, so its a waste of time and resources to craft anything but a legendary at this time, even though I agree with the fact that some of these rare exotics look a lot better than most legendary’s.

Look at it this way, would you rather spend 100’s of gold and 250 destroyer lodestones on an exotic level weapon that is guaranteed to become obsolete in times to come or use those resources on a weapon that will last you a life time? IMO the requirements to craft those rarer exotics either need to be drastically reduced or turned into legendary’s themselves or at the very least precursors for future legendary’s.

I think the way to get a Legendary in this game is an utter disgrace. A complete farm fest.

Why should I have to do repetitive tasks in order to get something of prestigious value? look at EverQuest 2’s way of getting your Epic/Mythical weapon – http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Wizard_Epic_Weapon_Timeline

It’s a series of quests that take you on a journey across the game and makes you feel like you’re on a ‘legendary’ adventure.. the weapon is part of the lore (or your personal ‘story’).

I really do want my legendary but every time I look at the wiki I just see “you need 250 of this, this this, rng this, that 100 gold here, there, 100 again, 250 of this, grind this dungeon 30 times, karma karma” etc etc.

I don’t care what anyone here says, obtaining this stuff ISN’T fun.

The problem is they wanted to create an item that few people will get, really with this game the only way to do that is by making it nothing more then a massive grind against RNG. It if was quest based, then there would be a whole lot more people with them, a whole lot more people.

I disagree with this, if done right a quest/achievement/skill/time based system for getting legendary’s would not only make the path to ones weapon a truly legendary experience but would put these weapons in the hands of players who truly earned it, instead of the current system now of googling “buy twilight”, insert credit card, win! Granted not many have taken this approach but the fact that the option exist destroys the entire legendary concept. Right now 75% of the legendary process is 100% luck based, its a terrible system that has not worked very well in games past. There will be players who will never have a shot at wielding one of these great weapons due to poor RNG even though they are some of the most skilled players in the game and thats sad!

A lot of determination is needed to make a Legendary no doubt but it is 95% luck based, many players will never wield one and it’s not because they are not good skillful players but because they have a bad RNG based account that will hinder any and all progress towards their goal. The only option players with bad RNG accounts have is to scrounge every last copper in hopes the things they need on the TP are cheap enough on that given day to make progress, but the way inflation is going these days these players will always be behind.

Working towards a Legendary should be a journey of skillful feats and achievements over time throughout the world of Tyria, not who has the better RNG account.

Crafting: Mat $$ > Product??

Yeah trying to make gold crafting is a big waste of time and gold, you will lose gold on everything you craft.

Last night I was gearing up my newest lvl80, and a 6pc exotic armor set cost about 21g on the TP, so I decided I would craft it instead to save some gold, having all the mats in bank already it would literally cost me nothing, but right before I hit the craft button I decided to check the TP to see how much the mats would sell for, to my surprise all the mats needed to craft that very same armor set would bring me in almost 32g, so thats what I did, sold the mats and bought the armor set while profiting 11g.

So hate to say just sell all your mats and take advantage of all the players who haven’t realized that they are wasting gold crafting.

I do that in the daily and then go back to Orr.
At this point I dont care what they do.
All I want is LOOT to be on par with FRACTALS. It isnt and that is wrong very very wrong.
The game is almost dead anyways but forcing players to do things against their will just to make gold or buy gems isnt the way to go. Treating 1 player better than another is what is killing this game fast. Reread your manifesto and pre release marketing material and return to what was promised.

Could be worse, at least in Orr and older dungeons you can still make some gold and get some of the mats needed for legendary’s and other popular craftables, no where as much as Fractals but a somewhat o.k amount. The player’s who really got the shaft are the dedicated WvWvW’ers, that manifesto has not applied to them since launch, they make little to no gold, they very rarely get any mats needed for legendary’s, and other popular crafting items, takes 100x longer to get exotic gear and weapons with badges than it does with dungeons, even karma drips in at a snails pace, sadly these are the players truly left behind, I know players who have been doing nothing but Wv3 since launch and they are no where even close to any part of their Legendarys right now, and have very small bank accounts.

Sounds great and looking forward to the changes, but on a negative note , culling is going to be a forever problem as long as the huge zerg mentality remains, find ways to spread out the crowds across the whole map and add incentives for defending and other task, there is far to much incentive offensively and defensively to just run around in the largest groups possible and plowing through everything.

I am really hoping for a world revamp, Its depressing seeing all these awesome looking zones and dungeons wasting a way with everyone just sitting in Lion’s Arch waiting for their Fractal groups, and or Wv3 queues, only other place I see a lot of player’s is in Cursed shore, pent/shelt events.

Just finished leveling my 4th 80 and what a lonely journey it was, with the exception of the occasional AC/CM run, Wv3, or story quest through LA It was a long solo run, when I got to Cursed Shore it felt like my character finally joined society, and for the first time on that character the map chat lit up and was finally able to play my new toon with many other people. I really feel bad for many of the new players out there because this as the game stands now is most likely the journey they have ahead of them.

Most of the complaints about stealth from what I see come from the WvWvW PvP’rs so I think thieves are getting an unfair shake here. The culling in WvWvW is pretty bad, I have run into full groups on my thief un-stealthed and stood among them for upwards of 10 seconds before showing on their screens, If I go in stealthed it takes longer for me to show, I have seen many other thieves do the same. When spec’d for long term/borderline perma stealth the culling only benefits us more, but we have to sacrifice most of our burst damage for this, I personally use a condition/stealth build to annoy people for long periods of time, now if culling wasn’t an issue I would have to time my abilities 100% perfectly while doing little damage in order to maintain permastealth. As far as burst builds go, due to culling a thief can easily stealth in take down 1-2 players before they even show on the screen and there is no amount of skill that will prevent you from dieing, best defense is stay grouped and 1-3 aoes will kill thief easily, its just the way it is at the moment.

So IMO no one has really played against a thief the way it was made to be played against due to culling in WvWvW, culling gives the perception of perma stealth and creates the image of thieves being god like when its not the case. Thieves are a very strong class especially in the right hands but yet so are all classes in the right hands.

Fix culling then “fix” thieves if its even needed.

CoF path 2 - kiting bit

Honestly this makes me quite angry when I think about it.

CoF path 1 and 2 are by far the most popular dungeons to farm in game. They are literally done by hundreds of people every hour.

It’s been 4 months since the game launched and yet we are still forced to kite/graveyard zerg the kite-event during CoF path 2 because ANet can get their act together and balance the event properly.

It would probably take a capable designer 15 minutes to sort out something that is causing hundreds of in-game deaths every hour. kitten like this should have been the top priority after launch but here we are, 4 months in and still kiting these stupidly overpowered mobs in circles.

I have never experienced and MMO company that has been so slow and/or reluctant to fix/balance content that a large portion of their player base consumed every day.

They can be dps’s down if you focus target npc’s in a certain order per mob spawn but have to dps them quick.

But as far as fixing and balancing content every dungeon has been basically ignored since the launch of fractals, almost every evening running any given dungeon they seem to be getting more and more buggy, some even to the point of not being able to be completed, I even had nights recently where we spent more time bug reporting than actually playing. Really hoping the big Jan/Feb updates fix all of this.

I think your theory is way way off though interesting. I personally farmed cursed shore for 100’s of hours since the Nov 15th patch and found my drop rates have dropped significantly, not one good drop day since. Here has been my experience:

Prior to the 15th I was getting 3-5 rares per hour, and a fair amount of T6 in a wide variety, a lot of T5 and I would get these drops for a few hours. NOW I am lucky to get 1 per hour, if I get more my DR kicks in and I am done for the day, it becomes a complete waste of time and I literally only get junk and white items for the rest of the day. Over the last 2 weeks I get at most 2hrs of farm time a day before DR kicks in. As far as T5 and T6 mats I only get Pile of Crystalline dust and ancient bones, and large bone, T5 dust and potent venom sacs, thats it! No other types! And I only get about 1/2 of what I was getting prior to Nov 15th.

So by your theory ANet hates me and throws me to the bottom of the RnG pile every day hoping I quit the game. Really hoping thats not the case lol

Tactical tweaks to improve WvW and end zergs.

Here’s is the sort of stuff I would like to see,

-Take away orange swords on the map.
-Take away contested swords on the map.
-Add a true day/night cycle(like really, really dark).
-Add severe weather. Thick fog banks, or blizzards(like in certain Fractals).

I really like these ideas, especially removing the swords, my friends and I have talked about removing these several times and found nothing negative about doing so, this alone would lessen the zerg numbers running about because some players would have to stay behind to keep watch on any given objective they take.

Would also like to add:

- Abandoned debuff to all keeps and towers if there is no one defending them. Each objective needs “x” amount of forces to stay defending in order to maintain upgrades and defenses, if no one is there all upgrades will begin to diminish, if left unguarded for long periods of time the gates will rot away and all the npc’s will age making the objective obtainable by very small groups with ease.

- The severe weather would be a great defensive upgrade to keeps. Island in the middle of lake, chest room in jumping puzzle, the keep that needs defending and where the 2 sp’s are in the top corners, so 1 person at each place hitting their triggers at same time to trigger the weather event, those points would have to be held and maintained to keep the event going, one person leaves or gets killed at any of those points ends the event.

Legendaries aren’t supposed to be farmed for, you slowly accumulate gold and then buy them months later.
Enjoy the game and don’t go mad on obsessions.

This is true, but problem is the longer you wait to start the harder it will be to obtain, between ANet constantly tampering with drop rates, massive inflation of prices on all materials and precursors needed to complete the task it will turn into a never ending grind, and if you have bad rng you may never get it.

Sorry for the rant but I am a bit bitter due to using up 315 globs of ectoplasm and being stuck at 64 mystic clovers, not to mention I haven’t gotten a single T6 mat other than ancient bones and piles of crystalline dust and 3 whole Lodestones for my hammer since mid November, its like my account has a perma DR on it.

Come to think of it now I don’t know why I am punishing myself so much!, Maybe its time for a break and play something happy and friendly like little big planet or something.

100 times this, man. The harder you wait, the harder it gets because the avg gold making will never catch up to the inflation.

But 315 ecto? Jesus, man. Did my clovers with 171 ecto. Thats one thing i have been lucky with. Have you been doing 1’s??? Try 10’s maybe?

Mixing it up as much as possible between 10’s and 1’s but now taking a break from it for a while to hopefully get other stuff done.

I’m currently at 64 clovers, used 315 globs………..mystic toilet’s flusher is one of those super flushers that can flush 100 golf balls in one flush, in my case globs

How the WvW stole PvE

  1. Monthly - Also to a lesser extent, but since I don’t enjoy wvw, I don’t like being forced to play wvw to complete my monthly. (To those who argue the same about fractals, I agree, but at least fractals is a part of pve)

These are the main reasons why I think pve would be better off without wvw. What do you guys think?

This here is driving me nuts because I can’t stand Fractals, did so much harm than good to the game, should have been do “x amount” of dungeons to at least put more players in the world instead of cramming everyone into LA. I personally enjoy both WvWvW and PvE so it does not bother me having to do both with the exception of this last month due to my rant above, I will not be completing it this month, I find it that unenjoyable. Would like to see a monthly 100% WvWvW based, heck I would even take a crafting monthly over whats there now.

seems some people have better luck than I am. I just went through 220 Obsidian shards (temple opened up on my server I just had to jump on it), and only got 61 out of it. definitely not in the 30% range for me, sigh.

Doing much better than me just broke the 275 Obsidian shard mark, still at 58. Now back to grinding karma, try again in a month….maybe…….really stinks having one the the very low rng accounts.

I have been on a permanent DR for the last 3 weeks, I play alot, mix and match Wv3 with dungeons and Orr events, I try not to sit in one place for more than a couple hours. I very rarely get rares unless I craft them myself, only T6 mats I get are ancient bones and crystalline dust, havent seen any of the others in weeks, a descent chunk of T5 mats that I have been throwing in the mystic forge to make T6 mats if it wasn’t for that I would be even further back on my progress towards my legendary. As far as exotics go the last and only one I got since launch came 1 day prior to the Nov 15th patch.

I basically have been progressing 1 silver at a time and the grind is starting to feel like the days of early Aion, they say they don’t want grinding and its not fun, well you know what is alot less fun when you get one of the bad luck accounts and can only progress at a snails pace.

Many of the older dungeon paths are bugged also, after 3hrs of dungeon runs tonight we spent more time bug reporting than actually playing, wanna take a guess at which dungeon was the only one to be bug free? Yes it was Fractals! Really wish they would start showing at least some slight interest in improving the older dungeons, but thats a rant for another day

You didn’t answer the question.

How are you taking 20k damage from a thief? My impression is that you are level 80. Thieves don’t kill me, or anyone in my guild in 2 hits.

I’m not saying thieves don’t have balance issues, especially with culling and render lag, but I seriously haven’t taken a 13k hit from a thief after the signet was nerfed.

I am pretty sure its a culling/rendering issue more so than a thief that is giving him the image of being insta-gibbed, it has happened to me a few times where I am sitting next to a supply camp boss dancing around and chatting with friends and I just instantly died, and not just died but died died without being in a downstate. When I look at the combat log it shows that apparently this thief hit me like 72x’s but my client never registered it, never showed i was even in combat, just died with the said thief lol’ing from 2000ft away. Its not a thief OP issue its a client issue and sadly thiefs and huge zergs benefit the most from it.

So I think its great that ANet is putting forth their time and efforts in making Fractals a more pleasurable, rewarding, and soon to be more convenient dungeon for its player base, but where’s the love for all the other dungeons? Are they getting any? There is still alot of bugs with many of them, some paths and dungeons players find so not fun and unrewarding they avoid them like the plague making it incredibly difficult to form groups for. Is anything in the works to make these other places as pleasurable and rewarding as Fractals?

This system won’t work without a better tier’d system, IMO it should be based on ones agony resistance stat, it would allow for alot more flexibility with grouping and players will be able to play in a level range they are more comfortable and experienced in, when they are ready to move on simply equip +5 or 10 AR and be on your way. I am currently only on Fractal 3 and would feel in no way comfortable enough running in lvl 21 like the scenario posted by the dev’s, it would not be fair to the rest of the group I was in being I am so far behind in experience.

On a side note its great they are trying to make changes to better the Fractal experience but when can we see some of the other dungeons in game receive some of the same type of attention and love?

Chest loot has been very lousy for me since pre-launch I have gotten 1 exotic from a chest, 10 overall from random things, and about 10 rares from chest, and don’t get me started on Jormag, kitten and Tequ I gave up on them weeks ago, 1 rare for the 75-100x’s I have done each of them. I am 1 of the many who were not blessed with one of the “elite” accounts that gets stuff, crafting and event farming is my consistent source of income.

Sadly I missed the Fractals boat, got up to level 3, didn’t care for it much and enjoy the other dungeons alot more as well as wvwvw, now its very rare I see groups for lvl 3 Fractals and when I do we never get enough to complete a group, whats even more sad is it seems Anet put ALL the loot, higher drop rates, and gold making opportunities into fractals and ignored the rest of the world, but that is a whole other rant and hope they change those things soon.

I am OK with being one of the unluckys that the Rng system is programmed to dislike and not get drops to often, being like others who are working towards their legendary I would greatly appreciate a non-rng type system in getting the components needed to complete the task, 1 lodestone cost 50k karma so be it but at least we know in time it is actually obtainable.

Ran pent/shelt and the grenth events last night for about 2 hours with a friend, me lvl 80 full mf gear, banner, food, my friend lvl 76 and a xp booster no mf at all, needless to say my buddy received about 9 rares and a ton of t6 mats, me in my MF gear 1 rare 4 vicious claws and a ridiculous amount of porus, and large bones.

So I log in this morning and do a few more events no MF gear at all, no boosters of any kind in the first 5 minutes 5 rares and a ton of t6 mats.

Yeah loot and magic find work great! Something is definetly goofed.

Well if it rallied 60 people onto the map then it served its purpose?

If 60 can muster why do they require an NPC event?

They don’t want one side to have total control, I think map control doesn’t mean what you think it means. Map control is owning the higher % of objectives not total lock out.

WvW is designed to not be balanced, therefore complete control of a map is completely acceptable.

All this will do is encourage zerging. I’m usually careful to put ideas across in a constructive way, but this is so diabolically incompetent I can’t be bothered.

The system already greatly encourages zerging with or without this event, this event just helps players actually play for a little bit before they are slaughtered by who ever has the bigger zerg on the map at that time. In WvWvW Zergs wins matches, the bigger the zergs the better chance you have of winning.

Wait… people who didn’t even attend want a chest for doing nothing? Seriously?

There were a ton of players who couldn’t even get in the zone during that event, I personally tried for over an hour and a half, it was log into Lion’s Arch move 3 steps in 20 seconds, try to port to lost shore, DC, rinse and repeat 10min later. I personally could care less about the chest thing in the end, I couldn’t even get there till 10min after the event ended, I was very annoyed for not being allowed to be part of it but I was not there so I am not expecting anything. I just know for future events to not even bother logging in for them.

New to the game. Just hit level 80. Probably half the levels were from WvW

Bought some new equipment a couple of days ago. Died a few times today in WvW and realized I have enough cash for 8 more repairs only. So apparently I need to do dungeons or something to be able to WvW ? …even though I am not interested in doing dungeons or waiting in line to join some random pug only to get wiped over and over ?

How else to make cash ?

(and yes, I die often because A: new player B: Ranger )

Best thing you can do IMO is to go to Cursed Shore and do the dynamic events. The Pent/Shelt and Plinx events are pretty descent just make sure you group up, which is very easy being players are always looking to group up. Most nights I do this while waiting for friends or guildies to come on for either wv3 or dungeons and make at least 1g in less than an hour, some nights I get very lucky and make significantly more, its crazy how all that junk in your bag adds up to some good cash!

How true are the following statements for you on a scale of 0 to 5?

1) I felt like I had little to do once my main character hit level 80, I got full exotic gear and 100% world completion. By the time of the patch my enthusiasm for the game had already lost a lot of momentum and I was really looking forward to new content.

2) Obtaining ascended gear gives me something new to aim for and boosts/refreshes my enthusiasm for GW2.

3)The lack of a tier after exotic is something that always bothered me. I feel that equipping my toon with better and better gear is something I look forward to in a game and that element was missing from GW2.

4) I believe that future paid expansion packs should introduce new tiers of gear.

5) In my wishlist of things to come for GW2 three months after its release (new areas/foes/weapons/events/skills, fixing bugs, tweaking class balance, anything at all) the introduction of a tier slightly better than exotic ranked pretty high.

1 – (2.5 )<I have several 80’s, and LOTS to do on all of them to keep me busy for a long time, but if I had only 1 character I would’ve had almost everything done by now. New content is always welcomed, only gave it a 2.5 because I did not need it due to being “bored”

2 – (4 ?)<This is a “what if” type score, I love the fact they are adding new items, finding different skins/stat setups can be fun. “IF” at launch with the rescent patch created pathways and content for all playstyles to obtain new ascended then hands down a 4.

*BUT being the way ANet handled it by creating gated content for only one playstyle in one place and this is a sign of things to come then I have to give it a big fat (((0! )))

3 – (0) < Never bothered me, cool looking skins is more than enough to keep me going, also as primarily a Wv3 player gear/stat advantages are not cool, I like knowing I beat my opponents straight up not because I had a higher tier of gear than them.

4 -(5 !)for new content its always welcomed and appreciated/ (1)if it involves higher tiers of gear. Done the gear treadmill for far to long in past games GW2 was supposed to break away from that mold, would be done playing this game if that happened.

5 – (5 !) for most of that / (1 )on a new tier only due to the fact they created a gated content system for only one playstyle, If content and pathways were created for all playstyles in obtaining that gear than I could deal with a small grind for my +2 of each stat.

I think seige should be usable by all servers, if you take a fort and leave your flame rams at the door its your own fault for not defending and allowing “x” server to use your rams to take it or take it back. < with this should be the option to break down a seige weapon and put it back in your bag.

I have been playing significantly less due to not many other players wanting to do ALL the content anymore. Don’t get me wrong FOTM is a good dungeon I am just not the type of player who likes only playing 1 dungeon all the time to get an upgrade and progress a character. I usually like doing a different dungeon everyday, mixing in some wvwvw,spvp, and some de’s when wanting to mingle with other players on the server. Most of this is gone now, very rarely I see someone spamming for anything other than FOTM, wvwvw is seeing significantly less in participation so some nights can get frustrating, and DE’s are empty most of the time.

I have no problem with a gear progression system just don’t force everyone into 1 playstyle in 1 place.

I personally have not seen any of this behavior in my time here in GW2 but I am also the type of player who cannot stand running the same content every night/day just for an upgrade, its just not worth it IMO.

This brings me to my next point, the one thing that really differentiates GW2 from other games is or should say (was ) the ability to play the game your own way with equal gear (statistically) available for all play styles (dungeons, wvwvw, de’s, karma,crafting, etc). Players do not care what the gear looks like as long as the stats match, thats what skins are for. For some reason ANet abandoned this philosophy and attempted (hopefully unintentionally) to herd its entire player base to play one way in one place to obtain it. This is one of things that annoys me most about this last patch because I was one of the few players that really enjoyed mixing it up, doing a different dungeon everyday, with some WvWvW and Spvp mixed in, on a good day even do some DE’s in Orr just to mingle with other members of the server, this is almost all gone now.

My suggestion to ANet is many of us have no problem with a slight gear treadmill and a vertical progression type system but if your gonna do it DO NOT make it where you can only do it in 1 place and 1 playstyle, give all play styles there own path in obtaining the most current tier of gear. You put years of work into your game and If I was a developer it would be heartbreaking for me to see the player base abandon my older content just to get 2 power (other stats).

To the OP be patient, there will be groups for the lower levels of FOTM and if people are demanding a gear check for lvl’s 1-9 they are bad and just looking to be carried, don’t waste your time with them.

Assuming u all have exotics gear, how did u get them?
Unless u use badges equip, u had to pve, craft or buy.
And if u want pvp without equip stats u allways have spvp/tpvp.
Also usually pvpers want to have the best equips. So, if u want, u do it, noone forcing u to.
And how would u make fair ppl that have to do dungeons to get the items, and u would just have to keep aoeing a zerg to get same item?
Instead of this thread u would have pvers complaining wvw players get more benefits.
Kind of hard to balance things out, do 1 dungeon a day with friends and try to have fun in game^^

Got mine with Karma which i earned in WvW.If i want the best equipment i am forced to PvE.PvE’ers get tokens or whatever,in wvw i get karma which is useless to me so why shouldn’t i be able to use it to buy the gear? I don’t want to do one dungeon a day or even a week if ever,i do have fun in the game for me it’s wvw.You obviously don’t wvw,how is it fair that pvers get the best gear for just killing AI over and over and over? wvw is ever changing, dungeons are “fixed” do it once it stays the same.

It’s not just having to run dungeons to get ascended gear its you HAVE TO RUN THE SAME DUNGEON over and over and over again to obtain ascended gear. I don’t mind running a quick dungeon or 2 while waiting for guildies and friends to get on before hitting WvWvW, I just do not like feeling forced to run the same one.

This game was originally designed as a play how you want to, gear was a secondary cosmetic thing. Players will not care if the gear is ugly as long as the stats match, thats why you have transmutation stones to make your gear look how you want too. In this type of MMO if your going to create a new tier of gear with higher stats you have to allow multiple paths for ALL playstyles in obtaining it, not create walls and roadblocks.

My opinion on the issue.

I honestly do not think the added tier of gear with higher stats ( even though they are only slight) is whats getting the player base in an uproar, its the way they are required to obtain that gear is the issue. The game was designed as a play how you want and enjoy the content, gear was secondary. What resulted is that whole +2 (insert stat type here) per piece, and ONLY being able to aquire that said piece in FOTM unintentionally reverted back the mindset of the player base of what has become standard and typical over the years in MMO’s as “if I do not get the most up to date gear I will be left behind” mentality, thus again unintentionally created an image that ALL CONTENT other than FOTM is now obsolete and not worth doing.

Now the most logical fix IMO to this added tier issue is to make it obtainable through all sources of play (WvWvW, ALL dungeons, Karma, etc) and make the world vibrant and alive again and let the players have the choice of how to get the new tier on their own instead of herding them all into 1 instance. The one thing that really killed alot of games for me was feeling forced to run the same content over and over to get the most up to date gear, never seeing old content again, I know if I was a developer it would be heartbreaking for me to see no one doing the content I created anymore. After about 5 days’ish the only groups I can find are for FOTM, very rarely do I get to do anything else, which really stinks cause I really like some of the other dungeons better.

Anet don’t let something as silly as +2 Power or (insert stat here) ruin all your content, players won’t care if it looks ugly as long as they can have +2 power also.

Maybe add ascended gear for token purchase in the pre-fractals dungeons? Or a chance of getting it out of the final boss chest? Then we could do whatever dungeon we wanted without feeling like we have to grind fractals for ascended gear. (Don’t get me wrong, fractals is amazing, but candy every day will still make you sick of it after a while) The rest of us who want dungeon armor/weapons can then convince others to come with us. Lol

If it does become a chance to drop in a chest or off a last boss, could it be higher than .001% please? Maybe 5-15%. Stats are random and its account bound, so it should drop way more since it’s unsellable. Otherwise a chance to keep getting defensive/condi/mf ascended trinkets is not going to make my offensive build warrior happy! Or let us mystic forge the ones we don’t want into the stats we do, without 250 tier 6 crafting mats.

You know if they have done this and allowed a path through all content in the game to aquire the ascended gear Anet would not be having these incredibly negative PR issues right now and everyone would care less about a new tier of gear. No one likes being forced into 1 thing over and over just to keep up.

ANet pretty much decided that all previous PvE content (dungeons, DE’s, etc) wasn’t worth a kitten so they decided to add the gear treadmill instead and make all of it obsolete.

What did you expect? They just released higher level gear pieces (Rings and Back I think) any ways, higher level gear – with better stats than exotics = don’t expect anyone to be around for a while as they are all in a rush to get these new items first so they think they can have a “gear advantage” over everyone else. LOL

Thing I most bummed about is I have an alt that is 1 run away from getting his full CoF set and can’t get the kitten door open due to no one around to help clear the event chain. Nice road block to get players out of content ANet LOL

I like the new dungeon and the loot improvements to the existing ones but have a question/complaint/issue. Now that everyone is rushing to the new dungeon it has left many of the lands empty, as expected, but places like Citadel of Flame cannot be entered now due to the lack of players available to clear the event chain. YES believe it or not some of us still enjoy the old dungeons enough that we like doing those instead of the new at the moment. Sooo why have an entire dungeon blocked off due to an event chain knowing there will no longer be enough players around to clear the opening due to the new dungeon?

I have a pretty good rig setup, handles wvwvw mega battles with ease, even handle god awful swtor illum battles just fine, but man this event was so laggy and unplayable I had to log out mid way through, nothing like being able to hit an ability go to the kitchen, get a drink, check my phone for messages, come back and see that ability not even fire off yet. Very very disappointing but at least I got to see the 7 sec cinematic lol.

This Ascended gear thing really isn’t a big deal, they already stated their will be multiple ways to aquire it. But not for nothing the stat increase on the few pieces they are releasing thursday are so minimal and will have little impact if any on everyday game play. My entire time here on GW2 never once has gear hindered my progression in PvE, even at those times when I forgot to take my mix of masterwork/rare magic find gear going into a CoE run. Or in wvwvw, whether leveling or trying out a new build with crappy gear it never prevented me from being useful or killing other players, or dying to other players. But bottom line is gear is so insignificant in this game, my failings were never due to gear or lack of, just my own lack of knowledge or ability with given character.

blackgate appears to be struggling without the aid of questionably obtained global buffs.

No way I think Blackgate is and will be fine, all the bad apple bandwagoners are gone and what is left is some of the most skilled and exciting players in the game, over the last few days I have seen small BG groups take out armies of players with ease, we always get a huge lol’s when I see or 5-10 of us chase off 15-20+ player zerg groups. Apparently in the higher tiers its all about who has the bigger zerg group and who can outnumber their opponents by the largest ratio possible, oh wait they call that “skill” lol! IMO they can keep it and play with themselves, quality over quantity and BG has quality by the buttloads! Who cares what tier we are in, T1,T7 doesnt matter there is no extra incentive for being higher. Over the coming weeks we will drop down to the appropriate tier where our population will match up properly to other servers and will lead to some of the greatest fights in the history of the game! So keep those heads up BG we may be losing in points this week and may lose by points in weeks to come but we always win in awesomeness!
