There really needs to be more risk involved with zerging, just feels to me that you should have to sacrifice something when deciding to run around in mass numbers. Only thing I could think of was tying the PPT to defending. If objectives are left undefended your server receives no PPT for those objectives, so you basically need to leave “x” amount of players behind to defend, upgrade and siege up. If you need mass numbers to push for a major objective point like say SM, you would have to empty out several other capture points sacrificing your PPT in your attempt, same goes for defending, it would make it incredibly difficult maintaining PPT if you have majority of the map captured, you would then have to sacrifice PPT to get the numbers needed to defend other points. I know defending is boring and all, I personally enjoy it but it could really help add that risk/sacrifice desperately needed when it comes to zerging.

GW2’s competitive PvP was sort of doomed right from launch due to lack of variety. Anet created some incredible looking maps for Spvp but only 1 game mode? Seriously?? How long did they really expect the PvP player base to stick around with only 1 game mode? MMO’s need variety, without enough variety they die off as we are currently seeing with the Spvp portion of Gw2. Class balance will never be perfect or even close in anyway, that is just how MMO’s are, sometimes it is fun times for your class other times not so much, but a lot of that can be solved by having more variety, more game modes, more different ways to play, a class/build that is performing weakly in one mode, might be extremely strong in another. Work on the fun element first and maybe Gw2 will get lucky enough to stumble into something good later.

For some reason Anet went against their manifesto promise of “play how you want” when it comes to earning Ascended gear, this time last year they even admitted the mistake of how poorly they implemented the items by not allowing multiple paths/play styles in earning them, yet here we are a year later and no lesson has been learned. They almost jumped on the right track by placing the items in the Laurel and guild mission vendors, though its time gated its much better than say the back pieces where one is forced into Fractals though I hear this is changing soon. But then they reverted back to " we do not want you to play how you want" and forced players into crafting, a time gated, expensive grindfest. I am really hoping Anet applies the “play how you want” in earning the armor but I have doubts.

Now on to my rant on why this is unfair to WvW’s. What really grinds my gears is when players say “buying ascended items with badges would be to easy” oh really???? How is earning say a 1000 badges any easier than running a champ train zerg in any given zone? IMO its not easier but significantly harder. PvE has so many avenues of earning gold for doing very mindless things, not to mention an abundance of areas that drop the T6 mats needed to craft to 500, WvW has a very low to practically nonexistent drop rate for T6 mats and earning gold is a much much slower process than PvE. I would also like to top this all off by adding that in PvE your practically guaranteed “x” amount of gold per hour + drops that can be sold and used towards what ever your progressing towards, WvW all progress can come to a halt if up against an organized server, I had nights where we were lucky to take 1-2 towers and a few camps.

So yeah I’d say being able to buy the items with badges and gold or Laurels is more than a fair way to earning the items, the way I look at it is PvE’rs do not have to ever step into WvW to earn anything besides map completion to get the best stuff in game, oh did I mention how they also get to enjoy all the buffs that WvW’s earn for them!?! Let WvW’s do their thing with their own realistic fair path in earning BiS items.

I would love to get out of the T1 zergfest being queue times are stupid long and go to a nice lower tier server with a good community. Just way too pricey atm.

I 110% agree with everything the OP say’s and is for the most part one of the main reason’s why I stopped playing month’s ago, well that and horrible RnG and always getting 4v5 Spvp matches. The gear grind in this game is not fun what so ever for me and I feel other game’s do it in a far better, less grindy and more meaningful way. So now I play those other games, I get my BiS gear in a reasonable amount of time and am able to sit back and enjoy the content and play the way I want to play. I check in here every week or so to see the changes hoping Anet decides to go back to making the game they originally advertised.

This RNG thing is what caused me to quit GW2 for the foreseeable future, haven’t logged on in over a month. I have over 3000 hrs played, 8 lvl 80’s, ran every dungeon more times than I can count on all of them, Fotm 30+, rank 93 in WvW, 23 in Spvp, needless to say I have played a ton over the last year! No pre-cursors, very very few exotics, T6 mats very minimal, never had a lodestone drop, my mystic clovers took 363 globs to get my 77. My cousin on the other hand had 3 precursor drops 10mins after hitting 80, hes had about 15 total so far and has only been playing for 3 months, lodestones and T6 mats galore everywhere he goes and just completed his second legendary last week and is well on his way to his 3rd with very little effort. So yeah not gonna lie I am a bit bitter and angry about this, thats why I quit, I put the work in and then some, I defeated some of the toughest content in game with multiple classes, I did the grind thing and got no where for my time and efforts due to bad RnG, I am simply just done with it, this game is not worth it. There is games that do the whole PvE grind thing better and in a much more fair way, many that relies more on skill than luck. I am a firm believer in that there is good accounts and bad, I sadly bought a bad one.

The thing is this game did not need another tier of gear to grind for, it’s just more fluff content. This game needed more engaging and challenging content, right now its just zerg zerg zerg for everything, living world – zerg "x"map for 2 weeks and then switch to the next, wvwvw zergfest capitol of GW2, dungeons just stand in corner stack and zerg down, world bosses – hit 1 and go get a drink as you and the rest of the zerg auto attack the boss down. With the exception of high level fractals there really is not much to this game that actually takes any thought or effort, nothing that gives you that “OMG (I / WE) DID IT!!!” feeling, and the things that are somewhat challenging are not rewarding in anyway due to everything being stuck behind the great wall of RNG.

GW2 needs tiers of content not gear, and if there is to be new gear it should be rewarded through accomplishments not grinds and RNG.

Well at least an Ascended Weapon is actually obtainable over time unlike a Legendary that is 100% luck based. But all this doesn’t matter gave up a long while ago, there is good RNG accounts and bad RNG accounts, sadly for me I am cursed with a bad RNG account so this whole part of the game is a complete waste of time for me.

I used to like this game but I think I am done also, at least for the foreseeable future, the RNG is to brutal in this game. Here I am 1 year later, 2400hrs played, 8 lvl80’s (one of each class), 7200 achievement points, Never seen a precursor drop, Never seen a one of those weapon skin tickets, I have been hording every mat required for my legendary and I am no where even close, not a single lodestone in my inventory, took me 334 attempts to get my mystic clovers! I have ran every dungeon x100, FOTM to level 30+, temple events daily,DE’s, WvW, all these living world events farmed till nausea, and still no where even close, its a miracle of a day if I see a rare, last exotic drop I have seen was roughly 3 months ago and it sold for a whopping 73 silver! I do have a fair amount of gold saved up but every time I get close the prices of precursors sky rocket. And to make matters worse everytime I jump into soloQ spvp 95% of my matches I am stuck at the crap end of a 5v4 so that option is out now also.

Its just not fun anymore playing the same stuff over and over again and not being able to progress your character(s) any further, I want the flashy skins for my efforts, but its impossible unless I just run with the zerg and farm every copper possible and sadly this game is not interesting enough to do so.

I hit my breaking point with this 5v4 issue tonight, 8/11 games were 5v4 , all 8 times I was on the side with 4, nothing like watching your W/L record tank to the ground because ANet refuses to acknowledge this problem. Its been getting worse as the weeks go on. I am ok with losing, its all part of the learning process but when you are thrown in at a massive disadvantage, there is no learning process, there is no fun, just a very crappy pvp game. Good luck all I played my last pvp game tonight, hopefully soon Anet will take a break from catering its pvp to the 10 players at Pax and focus on the actual player base, you know the ones who actually pay to play, buy gems, etc and fix all these game breaking bugs and imbalances and make pvp fun again.

You ever consider the Eternal Battlegrounds jumping puzzle? The whole map can be your personal battleground, heck did you know they even have an arena inside the place? I personally find the current meta the most unenjoyable PvP experience I have had in years, it is just flat out not fun, not going to get into a laundry list of dislikes as it has been stated 100x+ in just about every thread in this forum. Its a shame the entire pvp aspect of this game is being catered to a handful of players in the Pax tourney while the rest of the community has to just deal with it for months.

IMO the players at Pax are for the most part professional players, they can adapt to shifts in the meta far easier and faster than your average GW2 player. First priority should always be making the game enjoyable and fun for the everyday GW2 player, you know the ones who actually pay to play, buy stuff from the gem store etc, let the pro’s , the ones getting paid to play “deal with it and adapt”

Some 40 or so permanent events were added around the game in our very first content update. They were met with little interest or fanfare. Granted, Halloween may have stolen the show. But those events are still in the game today. I’ve seen very little reaction to them, however, positive or negative.

While the reason he gives is probably true, I also think part of the issue there may have been that so early in the game’s lifespan (the Halloween release was only a couple of months in,) most people hadn’t done all the original events enough times to recognize when something was new.

I suspect that a dynamic event release of that magnitude now would be more noticed.

A ton of DE’s go unnoticed, there were so many patches where in the notes there would be a single line saying "we added “x” amount of DE’s to the game", no mention of where they are, what zone no additional info of any kind. So of course in the eyes of Anet its going to show lack of interest, no one knows where or when to go somewhere.

WvW has definitely lost its luster, with the current zerg ball meta in place its knock down a door, then knockdown another door, run around a little bit then knock down the same door you just knocked down 10minutes ago, zerg ball into another zergball for some bags to cover cost of knocking down doors, rinse and repeat. WvW is in desperate need of spicing up, I would personally love to see some Living World stuff applied into the borderlands just to give everyone something different to fight for.

I have seen and have experienced both sides of the argument here, as long as one runs around with the mindset and focus of “omg theres a thief around here, let me be ready to D up” then you will not be blown up, on the other hand if you are just playing the game doing your part in the war effort a thief will stealth to you, drop an incredible amount of hp off your health bar before you can react, no matter what gear you are wearing, there is nothing you can do about it, I do this all the time on my thief, I will perma stealth to the back of the pack and drop at least 4-5 players into downstate before they can react and run away scratch free. When I am on my Necro I play very defensively, so I do not get bursted down in a second, I very rarely get killed by thieves now but its my main focus when roaming or back of the pack. Thief is squishy overall they will drop to aoes very fast, but its a big guessing game of trying to find where they are when they start blinking around in stealth.

To me playing against and with a thief feels a bit broken, every other class you see coming so you can counter properly, a thief the only way to counter their opener is by guessing, you time your guess wrong and watch your hp bar disappear, but if you are able to see a thief coming you can kill them very easily with almost any build fairly quickly. Right now thieves do not have many viable/strong builds, you nerf their stealth and burst abilities to much and all you will have is an auto attacking thief waiting to die.

Hate to use the L2P statement regarding necros and the player base but I must say it, people need to L2P! Here’s why, majority of the nerf necros brigade are hot join heros! How do I know this because I am exactly that, a hot join hero, I go in using the necro fotm fear bomb build and dominate, only reason I am doing this is due to the majority of the players in hotjoins running all burst type builds, no stun breakers, minimal condition removals, they are built and specked for one thing and one thing only, being selfish and killing things fast, there is minimal if any focus targeting, no one helping each other with cleanses or cc etc, I am free to roam around and do what I please.

With my new found confidence from dominating in some hotjoins last night I decided I am going to jump into some tpvp! And oh boy what a reality check that was, I learned more in 2 hours of tpvp getting my kitten handed to me than I have in the last 8 months of hotjoins! I had the honor of joining and fighting against many rank 50+ players last night, great players who knew there classes in and out, how to works as a team and all the ins and outs of tpvp. And guess what happened next…….. All those little tricks I was using in hotjoins in my time of earlier domination were completely negated, these teams were clearing conditions as fast as I could put them on, chain fears were next to impossible to due 90% uptime of stability, I was forced to use my abilities in a much smarter timely manner just to compete and be useful. Unlike hotjoins team >than the individual.

So to sum up my experience thus far, PVp is a team game, if you are running around solo or even with a friend and you do not have the basic tools needed to ensure your survival and you are not coordinating properly with your teammates it’s not due to a class being op, some classes and team make ups will always be more powerful than others in mmo PVp. Necros are strong right now no doubt but can easily be defeated if fought against properly.

I try on a weekly basis to do a bit of everything available in game so GW2 stays somewhat interesting for me so I do not burnout. In past games I was very big into PvP, was not great at it by any means but still found it very fun and was able to consistantly improve my gameplay. Gw2’s PvP for me for some reason is missing that “It” factor that would hook me in and get me addicted.

1. Have tried PVP? If not, why?
Yes! Mostly WvW, but I do a few hotjoins every night to mix things up.

2. Tried it and liked it or not?
I am in the middle here, I do a lot of WvW, but after a night or 2 in the zergball I get very bored! So then I roam for another night or 2 only to find myself victim to the zergball far to often so I get a bit bored of that, than I move on to Spvp and it all becomes fun again for a night or 2, then I get my confidence up to do some Tpvp only to have it ruined by far to many whiny players who complain about anything and everything.

3. Are active PVP players?
Somewhat, would like to be more active

4. Done both WvW and PVP: which do you prefer and why?
Done both as stated above and if I had to pick between the 2 I have to go with WvW, the community in WvW is just miles ahead, much more friendly and fun to be around.

Perhaps. But dear god, not for 8000. More like 50,000. Yes, I am serious. Legendaries should be legendary. There is already way too much of them in game at the moment for the time GW2 is live. IMO way too many people expect to get their legendary NOW. I dont get what is wrong with long (and I mean VERY long) term goals. If you are not willling to get that far than your are not “legendary” enough. Its just a kitten skin, not something that will make you overpowered.

Legendary’s in this game are a joke, they are not earned they are just randomly given away to players with good luck. If you were to play this game the way its intended and you have bad RNG you can literally play this game for decades and still not be even close to getting everything you need to craft your weapon, most players will be able to buy the weapon outright long before the items needed would drop.

I have a touch over 2800 hours invested in this game, about 6500 AP, and I am no where even close to getting my weapon, my cousin on the other hand has about 200-300 hrs in, less than 1k AP, and has already had multiple precursor drops and is being handed charged lodestones like their candy every time we run CoE and he is one of the worse players I have ever seen lol.

There is nothing Legendary about these skins, just a bunch of fancy skins that any dummie can get by pure luck, the entire Legendary system needs a full revamp!

I agree on the luck part. Its bad. But that does not change the fact that handing precursors for 8000 AP (something I replied to) is also bad IMO.

Agree both systems would be bad but I would much rather see them cost 8K ap than the current system that is in place, at least the player wielding the weapon actually has to accomplish something other than beating the big bad rng boss.

My biggest issue with GW2 at the moment is that there is nothing to work towards, some say thats what Legendarys are for but as we all know Legendarys are not earned they are given away to only the lucky few thanks to a very punishing RNG system.

Now I am not looking for a gear grind by any means but I would like to see unique skins/items put into the game that require skill/achievements to get, items/skins that display true accomplishment where the only thing holding you back from obtaining the “Bow of Mega Awesome” is your own lack of skill.

Or say in WvW once you unlock ex. Rank 50 it opens up a unique vendor for skins/items etc, and every x amount of ranks there after opens up more unique skins/items. Right now all WvW has as far as long term goals is titles, so if you kill/escort 50 yaks a day for the next 225yrs you will earn your yakslapper title or whatever its called.

All I am asking for is cool looking unique things I can work towards that are not reliant on Rng, or one sitting in Lions Arch with a credit card buying gems to convert into gems to buy thousands of chest/coffers/boxes to have a “chance” at something new and unique. Give players a real reason to log on everyday!

After 2800+ hours of play, doing everything from WvW to dungeons, fractals, world events, dragons, temples etc I am fully convinced that accounts are flagged for good or bad RNG upon purchase. I unfortunately bought a bad account, the only rares I see are from the chest from temples, not the big boss chest but the little daily one per account, I maybe at most had 8-10 exotic drops since launch, I dump rares into the mystic forge only to get more rares, T6 mats might as well be exotics for me cause I hardly get any. My cousin on the other hand, with only 200 hours played has had over 8 precursor drops, gets at least 1 lodestone everytime he steps into CoE, and rains exotics, rares, and T6 mats, he already has his first legendary with little to no effort or expense. Meanwhile I am scrounging every piece of copper I find afraid to spend any because god knows how long it will take to earn it back.

Yeah this game has to be hands down the most unrewarding game for my time I have ever played, makes me wonder if I forked over the few extra dollars at launch for the collectors edition if my experience would have been better.

Does the majority of people world wide like these one time events and hate content? Do they like grinding with their F key? I’m in favor of all the gemstone items like weapons, but the weapons are themed for events that are boring. Why have a themed weapon that represents a boring event? Good luck making money selling those.
“I opened 2,000 dragon coffers, lit 50 effigies, killed some see through monsters, and now I have this weapon. I hate myself.” -Average person’s event response

Not really. Also in case you weren’t aware, Anet has the next year planned out this way. One event per month, no real content additions to speak of. This is how it’s going to be for the foreseeable future. I’d much rather have updates be a bit more scarce if that meant we’d get long lasting changes and additions to the game.

OMG you serious? A year full of this stuff??? UGH!!! The few remaining members of the guild I am a part of and myself were talking about these issues just a few hours ago.

We were all under the impression when we all bought the game almost a year ago that the game was designed around horizontal progression, that we would go out into the world earning great looking unique skins through skillful feats, achievements, over coming great challenges etc.

Now almost a year later, and it feels like a much different product, nothing is earned in a skillful manner, or by over coming great challenges, its all based on RNG, dumb luck is the difference between “earning” a unique skin or not! Not much of a progression system IMO.

So we came to the conclusion that Anets plan for endgame progression in Gw2 is players standing in Lions Arch with a credit card buying gems to use on boxes/coffers/crates or what ever they are going to call them in hopes the rng will be kind enough to maybe allow a few of them to “earn” flashy new skins. Now seeing hearing they have at least a year of this planned it makes sense!

Whats wrong in my opinion is that Gw2 is supposed to be about horizontal progression, sure there is ascended gear and I was a little annoyed by it at first but after seeing how easy the items are to get its not a big deal to me. Anyways Horizontal progression to me meant going out at end game and earning unique skins through skillful acts around the world of Tyria and making my character(s) look awesome! But what we got was very different, end game is now all about sitting in Lions Arch with a credit card buying gems, which then you buy chest/coffers/boxes what ever you want to call them in hopes RNG likes you enough to allow you “earn” the hottest new skins in game.

Wheres the content that allows us to earn cool unique skins through skillful acts/achievements/encounters etc? I don’t know about anyone else but I am personally getting tired of fighting the big bad RNG boss everyday, he cannot be beatin!

How come everytime we hear “Oh we want things to be more fun and rewarding” by a Dev its usually followed up with nerf after nerf after nerf of said content stripping the area of all its fun and rewards? Hate to sound all negative and stuff but heard this speech many times and it always ends up with fun stripped away.

This game has completely lost its way...

Despite all the nerfs and difficulty increases, Pertinent and Shelter aren’t too hard to camp. The real issue is the rest of CS is so boring which is why people stick to those places. Soloing CS on a necro is pretty trivial stuff though.

Southsun is harder by far since you usually need a nicely sized group for those Southsun camp events. I admit southsun stuff was sort of a fail given that settler’s equipment was very lackluster.

I have to disagree with you a bit…have you been to CS in the past two or three weeks? Not only are all the other nerfs (huge buffs to enemies) still in place, but the time between events has been hugely extended. IMHO it was this last change that killed the area and it is fairly recent. It you want to do the events in the Pent/Shelter area you have to stand around for 20 minutes or so between events….way too long.

As far as Southsun, it is completely unworkable, a ghost town. The events don’t scale, and cannot be attempted without a huge group. In that case I suspect it was just bad/half-azzed design.

Yeah CS is really rough these days, very long time between events, I basically run the whole map looking for events to do in between Pent/Shelt down time and many times I find nothing. Used to be able to find event chains that would keep you busy all night with very little downtime, now its mostly downtime with a few events thrown in they really sucked the fun right out of it.

As far as the Temp content stuff its ok, gives players something to do for a little while and changes the scenery a bit, would like to see more permanent stuff once in a while, and would absolutely love to see some new armor and weapon skins I can earn from playing and doing something skillful instead of everything being locked behind an expensive RNG door.

Are loot drops account oriented?

Based on my experiences playing GW2 yes! 100% certain RNG is based on account, either you have a good account and get stuff, an ok account where you get some stuff sometimes, or a bad account which no matter how much or how long you play you get nothing but garbage loot.

My latest fractal run, there was a player who not only died constantly but everytime we rezzed him and he looted he always got either a rare or exotic, he even got a dusk and legend from this run! We all sat there in disbelief as he was raking in the loot while the rest of us who were not only carrying this player through but were only rewarded with blues and grey items. Many of us decided to do a few more runs with this player just to see if this was a 1 time lottery win or a consistent thing and sure enough it was a consistent thing, the next 3 levels of fractals was all rares and exotics for this player, the rest of us junk.

hokey what is going on ? were is the EPIC BATTLES
all i see in this game is skin collecting, i don’t feel powerful at all no mater what you do !
why not get stats to every skin, that reelect the skin look

fire skin = fire damage or fire skills
ice skin = ice damage or ice skills
skin for a rifle that make it look bigger = more damage less acc
skin of a rifle that make it look smaller = more acc less damage

STATS FOR A DYE YOU USE
red dye = fire protection
black dye = projectile protection
blue dye = ice protection (here you can put like heavy ice map and to survive the cold you need to dye your armor blue the same go for fire dye IS NOT THAT AWESOME ? )

all i see when i log in is DEAM MORE LAG in wvw, pvp is kittened. all dunjens are the same GRIND GRIND GRIND for what ? a skin o_o most skins like like crap with NO imagination put it !

and put more maps in FOTM
make a difference when you input time in the game ! You are afraid that if you make some ppl to powerful others will complain, offcorse they will but most of them will strife to become that powerful !

that mean legendarys will give MORE stats and there is good reason to try to get them.
right now there is NO PRACTICAL REASON TO GET THEM !
it is all vanity THIS GAME IS ALL VANITY !
the hell o_o

Sadly its not about all vanity anymore due to every new skin being stuck behind a very expensive RNG door. GW2 is all about burning players for as much cash as possible for little to nothing in return.

I am happy ANet keeps going on and on ripping people off with these RNG boxes, its more money I get to save.

I am all for supporting Anet to make GW2 better and when there is an item of actual value in the gem store like the Bow and Quiver from flame and frost, the mining pick and sickle (though a touch over priced IMO), bank and character slots I am all for it and I spend some cash. What I won’t waste my money on is a lottery box, If I am going to give Anet cash that I worked hard for I expect something of value, not 10 karka shells and flowers that I can farm myself in 10 minutes, not a few pieces of candy that is good for a whopping 30min, I want something I can see and maybe swing around for years to come.

Each event is becoming more and more of a let down, they start off as new and interesting and quickly become a letdown minutes later because all the good stuff is locked behind an extremely expensive Rng door, no thank you, I am not falling for it!

So keep it up Anet, all the money I am saving by not falling for your rng trap is just gonna go towards other games, a lot of interesting titles coming! And who knows you keeps this thing going long enough I will have more than enough for my Ps4 and a few games! So again TY!

Flame and Frost was really cool, the Molten Facility was a lot of fun, if it wasn’t for RNG boxes I would’ve gave it an 8.5/10 as far as temporary monthly content goes, due to the boxes 7/10.

Now Southsun is another story, its great that they are finally making use of the place but overall its just what is in every other map, a whole bunch of dynamic events and a few new achievements. As far as the the new dungeon goes, or should say Boss fight its meh. I really hope they have something really big planned for the conclusion because as it stands now this event has been a bust, oh yeah and more RNG boxes. As of now I give it a 2/10.

Hopefully the next event will be much better and without some BS RNG Box stuff!

I really think ANet must remove RNG boxes for the good of the game in the long run, I am all for them making money, more money for ANet the more stuff they can put in GW2, but making money this way is just wrong IMO. The RNG in this game is pretty brutal to begin with, to make players pay extra for bad RNG is the wrong way to go. By placing skins in the gem store even if for just limited time here or there they will generate them more revenue in the long run, sure the skins will not be “rare” in the beginning but in the long run, with thousands of skins added and the coming and goings of players new and old they will eventually become the “rarest” items out there.

Right now I am seeing way too much negativity regarding this issue, both in game and out, the many I know who attempted these chest feel disappointed and worst of all ripped off. I personally would never purchase these chest, I want to actually see something of value for my money, if these new skins were available for purchase in the gem store I would buy at least 6 right now! But they are not and I have no interest in becoming one of the many who currently feel ripped off by playing the RNG chest game.

These lottery boxes are terrible! And I find it very discouraging to even log on with this current business practice for these events. I love these new weapon skins, if they were in the gem store I would probably buy at least 6 skins right now, but being they are sitting in an rng based chest, and my rng in this game since launch has been terrible at best it would be a complete waste of cash and or gold for me and would make me so angry that I would delete this game from my hard drive never to be played again.

I am all for ANet making money, they have a game with a solid foundation that could easily be successful for the next decade, and I hope to be here for the long haul. I know ANet wants these current weapon skins to be rare, and thats fine but what they don’t realize is that over time as more and more skins are created, and the flow of players new and old pass through, these skins will become very rare anyways so the current model defeats the purpose, all ANet is accomplishing right now is giving their current player base the feeling of being ripped off, and that will not play well in the long run.

CoF farming needs fixed

CoF path1 is the only dungeon/path in the game that rewards you properly for your time spent. Even when your not in a zerker group it does not take much longer, and the reward for your time is more than fair. Other dungeons take way too long and are significantly more challenging for the same amount/type loot one gets doing CoF, so why run anything else?

Nerfing CoF path 1 would accomplish 1 thing, no one would run dungeons at all anymore! ANet really needs to scale the rewards for time much better to make ALL dungeons and their paths as lucrative as COF P-1.

Loot issues still exist for some.

Sadly DR has kicked in for every one on my lvl 80 toons. I am unable to shake it off. I farm orr and I can only assume that’s where I picked it up. 90% of the time I get porous bones or other white trash, some blues, a green or 2 here and there, and I am lucky if I get one rare a week, and I used to put a lot of time in this game. This problem started around the time that the one day Karka event took place. I run with over 100% magic find, I have even tried removing MF gear and I still get garbage most of the time. Because of drop quality I receive, I have reduced the number of hours that I play to only cover the dailies anymore, it’s just not worth it anymore. They ruined the game for me, while trying to punish bots!

This happened to me for all of december into mid january, I used to run with magic find gear then one day I had an awesome loot day, lots of rates, a few exotic’s and the T6 mats were plentiful then all of a sudden all I started getting was grey items, 2-3 days later still nothing but grey items, month in a half later still nothing but grey items. So I took some time off, about 2 weeks, I started playing again, threw my mf gear back on and within 30min it was back to nothing but grey items, this went on for another week than I decided to play without mf gear and I started getting white and occasional blue items, so I salvaged all my mf gear, I refuse to use it now, its not worth months of DR for a shot of anything better than a blue item. I play for fun now and to spend time with friends, farming is not an option for me anymore.

I really hope they do something to improve the Rng is this game, GW2 is the most unrewarding game for my time that I have ever played. Sorry to sound so bitter but I am a firm believer that I have bought a “bad” account at pre-launch. No matter what aspect of the game I play its all junk loot all the time. Gets old fast doing all the content and receiving nothing for my efforts.

I probably have the worst RNG in the game so I usually stick to only WvW for a few hours a night just for some fun with friends. GW2 for me has been the most unrewarding game in terms of loot I have ever played. Doesn’t matter what I do , dungeons, events, WvW its all junk loot all the time. And forget about going for a Legendary, its not an option, have been saving all my T6 mats since launch and still not even close, took me over 350 globs just to get my mystic clovers done. As far as gold I do OK because I very rarely buy anything so I have been able to save a descent amount 1 copper at a time. I think I have bought a bad account, plagued with forever bad RNG. Good thing the gameplay is fun otherwise there would be no reason to log on.

I consider myself a new to pvp in general. I am only pvp lvl 10, yet xP

If there´d ever be such a teamspeak server (or chat or… whatever), I´d definitely visit it… a lot :P
I´d really appreaciate to get more in contact with the pvp-(not-hotjoin)-community and get some advices on gameplay on certain maps.

I´d love to become better at pvp and to become a better player in general BUT I have no clue how I should do that.
Many people say that I should play some hotjoin but from what I´ve seem I think it´s no good foundation for the (more) serious kind of pvp I soon want to participate in.
Also, I think joining a solo queue is no good, either. I don´t really want to bother more experienced players with my low-level-ness

I really dont mind losing. Sometimes the opposing team is simply better. And personally, I think I can gain more experience from a loss, because I start reflecting on what I did wrong and try to be more careful the next time.

What truly discourages me is that I cant seem to get any pvp-contacts. Seriously, who wants to have a friggin lvl 10 pvp-noob in his friendlist?

But somehow I can´t believe that there are enough(/ any) veterans who truly want to help lower lvl players get into the (pvp)game…

Greetings from a pvp-newbie :P

I am right there with ya. I would really like to get into Tpvp but to be completely honest I do not feel welcomed going in, not knowing all the proper map mechanics, what my role should be on any given map and finding players to group with who will be patient and or teach me the ropes so not to be such a burden to any given team I am a part of whether group or solo queue. Youtube videos, forum advice, and hotjoins will only take you so far, you actually need to get your hands dirty and play Tpvp to get good at it and that does not feel like a welcoming option available for newer pvp’ers.
