Short description: We are a 7 year old community comprised of various communities. Our core members have played a variety of games and are generally in their 20s. We are affiliated with a number of teams in games such as Planetside (1, and now 2), WoW, LoL.

History:
The community has its roots in Planetside and was formed in late 2004/early 2005 by AmbientOSX for the purposes of uniting the best snipers on the Original Planetside’s (Sony’s MMOFPS) EMERALD server. This group forms the core of our community to this day. We’ve played Planetside, UT2004, World of Warcraft, Eve Online, Battlefield 2, Battlefield 2142, APB, Age of Conan, Space Cowboy, Transformice, League of Legends, Diablo 3, Battlefield 3… and many more games together. Our member base has played pretty much every game you can imagine.
The Coalition was formed a number of years ago to facilitate member sharing between prominent groups from the original Planetside. We are not a merger; simply a conglomeration (read: coalition) of groups looking to find like minded individuals to game with. Since then we have expanded to encompass Guild Wars 2.
Our Approach to GW2:
We will do whatever is most fun and most effective. We’ll play fair, but we’ll never be afraid to get a little bit dirty. This isn’t a popular opinion even within our own ranks at times – we’re no strangers to the concept of e-honor. That said, lets be honest, we are playing a game and we are playing to have fun/beat the competition. We’ll do that however we can.
We are focusing on WvW, sPvP, Leveling and Dungeons.
What We Offer:
We are a community of communities so we offer everything. You can play however you want and fit into whatever group suits your playstyle best. We have a very robust website and are continually adding features to it. We have benefits for active members, perks for members who financially support the group, and we are ramping up the events we run constantly.
A big plus: WE ARE CURRENTLY PLAYING OTHER GAMES! (Diablo 3, Battlefield 3, League of Legends, Planetside 2) Guild Wars 2 is great, but it will not be your life immediately nor indefinitely. The idea of joining a community centers around finding a group of players in this crazy world of online PC gaming that you can stay with throughout the tempest that is changing games/games dying/new games coming out.
Join us in any other game we’re currently playing (Diablo 3, Battlefield 3, Eve Online, World of Warcraft, Guild Wars 2) or game we intend to play (PS2) and you’ll see why this is awesome.
Who We Want:
We want players who are mature, who want to have fun. We’ll give almost anyone a shot at membership. Be courteous, be fairly politically correct… but most of all just have a good sense of self. Oh, also, motivated players looking to improve our community/put in some work to make it better/provide some leadership are always a plus.
WE ARE ALSO RECRUITING COMMUNITIES! Think about The Coalition as a force-multiplier for your existing community. WE ARE NOT A MERGER. We simply provide assets that you can take advantage of and a growing userbase that your players can interact with in a growing number of games. The more communities that join, the more members we’ll have, the better our events will be, the greater our impact in games, and the more fun that will be had overall.

Rifle / Axe-Shield
Why?
Don’t have to sit in melee range and potentially get pummeled on to do good damage.
Pro tip:
Set your target with Control-T
Target the set target, with T.
Now if you ever lose target, just hit T again.

This build also works really well as Sword/Axe if you’re interested.
A person’s heal is their own personal choice. I play with a lot of Guardians to the point where they are removing more than enough conditions for me. If you’re having problems with conditions then by all means make a choice and use Mending.
Also, I like the armor runes I’ve chosen because it provides alot more top end damage. This is needed because of how deep the build goes into Defense. Coupled with Dolyak signet, you don’t need to run as much additional toughness gear.

Axe/Mace – Sword/Shield
Here is the TLDR:
2385 Power
1560 Precision
1406 Toughness
1245 Vitality
3414 Attack – This number gets boosted to about 3600 in-combat
35% Crit Chance – But this number really sits around 65% in-combat.
2617 Armor
21,662 HP
+20% crit damage
2 Stuns
2 Cripples
1 Gap closer
+ 33% Retaliation up time during a fight.
+Reflect incoming ranged attacks.

Move the ‘break movement impairing effects with movement skills’ trait out of Tactics and into Defense.
Add a utility that stops spell casting on a 25 sec cd, preferably as a shout. (Alot of good builds lack a way to stop spell casting unless you have a mace or a shield.)
Shout Name: “Stop!”
Description: “Scare the living bejeezes out of your enemy, causing them to stop casting.”
CD: 25Secs.
When I hit 80 a few weeks ago I just stopped doing almost all lvl 80 content.
I spent the gold I had saved leveling on crafting.
When I didn’t have a ton of gold the farming mechanisms stopped me consistently farming mats I needed to keep progressing.
Now with no gold, and a timer to wait on for farming I ended up just sPvPing.
WvW costs me silver to repair, but I’m poor now! And everytime I try to go back and farm mats for crafting I get upset and just go back to sPvP.
I’m struggling as to what to do besides sPvP.
While I’m sure this build works for you, Defektive, I must say I agree with Yssta. Warrior IS made for pure damage and using condition damage on it as main damage rather than absolute damage is gimicky.
You’re better off with a thief, mesmer or necro if you’re speccing into condition damage, since these classes also do it better.
I’m just going to re-quote past posts since I already touched on how this build isn’t focused around condition damage being the main damage and you just seemed to overlook it.

Something I’ve learned to accept is you can’t rely on Condition damage to be your primary damage source with weapon swings being your secondary source. If to many enemies are removing conditions then you’re overall damage output is substantially low.
Because of this I opted for the Berserkers amulet because of its ability to force your Mainhand weapon into your primary damage source category.
You want conditions to be that icing on the cake, that insult to injury. However, you don’t want someone to cleanse away any lead you once had.
No need to be rude about it.
Yes Sword builds DO work. Just because no one has beaten you with one doesn’t mean that they don’t work.
And yes I use them in tPvP rather successfully.
If anything, comments are like this are why everyone lumps Warriors into “nerf them please”.

If anything (in my humble opinion) Sword > Greatsword. This is under the assumption you know your classes weakness’s and you can watch for enemy tells.

Fantastic! I’m glad people are experimenting with other builds and having success with them!
As a warrior community we need to be expanding the warrior build ‘meta’. The first step to that is to show that there are other builds out there that can do as well if not better than the most gimmicky!
Longbow is exceptionally good in a team environment. Burning damage can crit and arcing shot can consistently crit for 4-7k every 10 seconds.
Adds great randomness to your teams dmg output (I’d run it longbow / axe-horn)
However, rifle is also strong in single target dmg and you’ll start a FAR greater chance in a 1v1 situation with a rifle.

To mitigate kiting it’s important to get a slow on your opponent immediately.
Sword 3 = melee slow
Axe 3 = ranged slow
Then it’s a combination of dodging enemy slows and using Shield Stance when immobilized. When in Shield Stance remember to use the Ranged slow. Then swap back to S/S and use Sword 2 to leap to the crippled enemy. Apply your melee cripple and continue.
Reminder: With this build, shield skills recharge 20% faster. That means Shield Stance (3 seconds of block) which normally has a CD of 30 seconds. Is now 24. Because of this feel free to use it far more often.

Health regen is indeed affected by +Healing.
I tested a number of ways to add +Healing without sacrificing Toughness / Damage (in the form of Power, Crit and Condition) and found that optimally it was best to NOT add anything additional besides what the traits provided.

Gameplay:
This build focuses on survivability, sustained high damage from a Sword (slightly lower than a Greatsword), and applying moderate damage bleeds in mass quantities.
Why bleeds?:
Many classes have the ability to evade, stealth, and run away. Bleeds turn your DPS down time during these moments into DPS up time. A stack of 10 bleeds (easily obtainable in 2-4 seconds)
will tick for 500 dps. Add that to a sustained damage of 1200-2800 dmg per hit from a main sword and you create a very powerful damage dealing combo.
Bleeds can be applied using your Mainhand attack, your #4 ability (Impale – ranged 4 bleed stacker) and your #5 ability (Riposte – Block the next melee attack and apply 4 bleeds +do damage). When these 3 skills are used in conjunction, you can easily apply 10 bleeds on a target in 2-3 seconds.
What about classes that can remove conditions?:
Classes who can remove conditions generally use these abilities early on in the fight. Save your bleed appliers (Frenzy / Impale / Riposte) for after they have popped their condition removers.
Despite up time on Bleeds, generally the Mainhand sword can do as much damage as a Greatsword user. Thus having great pressure regardless if bleeds are up.
Burst:
Burst can be achieved in two areas. With this build an ‘Impale’ will generally crit for 5k. With a quick switch to Axe/Shield, you can also obtain a free 4k (and up to 8k) crit from Eviscerate.
Kiting:
This build has two slows, one from the Mainhand sword. Another from the Axe. Because this build relies on passive health regeneration (generally 600 HP per second), kiting is important in the throws of a battle.
Slow with your Mainhand sword (remember, bleeds are ticking on the enemy while this is happening!), jump away using your Mainhand sword (#2). Swap to axe, use it’s ranged slow ability (#3). And use Shield Stance to mitigate 3 seconds of incoming damage. By this time you would have regained roughly 2500+ HP.
Using Utilities:
‘Frenzy’ – Frenzy increases your attack speed by 50% (you also take 50% more damage during this time). Use Frenzy to quickly applies bleeds with your Mainhand Swords primary ability (#1). You can get up to 17 bleeds at once in a few seconds using this.
‘Signet of Rage’ & ‘For Great Justice’ – Both of these abilities are very similar. You want to be rotating them out so you have a consistent buff of the same stats (20% crit, 150ish condition damage, 150ish+ power)
‘Dolyak Signet’ – Do not touch this. This signet gives you passive damage reduction. Only use this when going up against enemies that stun because it will give you stability (8 seconds of knock back / stun resistance).
‘Healing Signet’ – Do not use this. You want the passive regen from the Signet. Only use the signet in dire circumstances.
Using your Axe/Shield offhand abilities:
Only switch to your Axe/Shield to either…
A) Mitigate damage (Shield Stance and passive block).
B) Stun (#4) to stop enemies from killing your downed teammates or from healing themselves. And Eviscerate (F1) for the 4-6k finisher on a target.
C) Kite using the ranged slow (#3)
I HIGHLY recommend this build to Warriors who want to try something other than GS/Axe-Shield, and still want to be extremely effective in a consistent battle.

Hi there! My name is Defektive and I play on the server Darkhaven (Defektivex)
I’ve spent the last week really drilling down and optimizing this build as best as I can. I use it in sPvP, Tournaments, and my next incursion will be for World PVP.
What you get:
-47% pass crit, with 95% up time of 67% passive crit
-Far more sustained damage than the standard Greatsword or Rifle build.
-Far more survivability with increased toughness and mobility / blocks / parry’s
-BURST! Surprisingly.
-HP Regeneration from 3 sources, and a passive +250 healing.

Healing:
Remember, you recieve healing from three souces. One from traits, one from your signet, and one from your 6/6 rune gear.
‘Healing Signet’ – “Why ‘Healing Signet’?” While yes you get more HP back with either of the other heals they have an inherent problem. Not only are you using cast times (you have to wait 1-2 seconds for the heal to actually get off) but the enemy has an opportunity to stun / interrupt you from ever healing to begin with. With passive HP regeneration you’re guaranteed some HP back on a consistent basis, and that’s something the enemy can’t stop. This signet also frees you up to cast important escapes, slows and block skills. Remember, this build has 25 points in Defensive for an additional +250 healing!.
Optional: Swap out Healing Signet for Mending if the enemy team is heavy on conditions.
