I have noticed lots of interest in making GW2 an e-sport(which is fine), but some skill/trait changes that may correctly balance PvP may also hurt PvE’ers.
My suggestion is to make PvP versions of such skills/traits (Like in GW1). So that both parts of the community will be happy.
Here is mine,
A tad on the squishy side.
sword/axe + longbow
axe 4 gives fury, which increases proc rate of the sigil of earth, also axe 5 is a nice finisher. Longbow is obvious, good aoe plus nice burst skill for WvW, also having the earth sigil is nice you get burn+bleed(works nicely with the krait runes I am using.)
Signet of precision is nice for the quick adrenaline. Dolyak Signet is nice before you unload on a zerg(never fun to start unloading just to get CC’ed =P). For great justice for the AoE might and fury.
Note;
I do not have ascendant gear yet, what I put on the build is what I plan to get.
Here is my art for Fievre! After finishing the drawing I had some fun in Gimp (Like Photoshop but free) and by accident gave the drawing a really neat effect, so now I am really glad I hit the wrong option. Also for reference the eyes are smaller than match heads, so most of the detail is tiny.
Hope you like it!

Added original photo for reference.

The problem is not always the build, but the ability of players to adapt to the change in this games dynamics. There is a lack of the holy trinity, but there is still to some extent support, tanks and DPS, but more so each player needs to be self-reliant too an extent. If I die in a dungeon I can NOT blame the support for not healing me, or the tank for not keeping the aggro.
With that said, glass cannons can be great in dungeons. Certain classes are better suited to it than others, but the biggest issue is the mentality most glass cannon’s have in this game. I have seen far to many DPS builds stand in god knows how many red circles, for the two seconds they are alive, and then blame the group for not supporting them.
If you play glass cannon builds in dungeons you need to be self reliant, because each second you spend dead are seconds you are doing zero damage, and that significantly lowers your “average damage per second”(DPS)
Lol apparently “doing zero damage” with zero typed as “0” trips the profanity filter and comes out “doinkittenage”. Took me a while to figure out why. =P
Hahaha I love it. xD Reminds me of Chik-fil-a.
I don’t mind sharpies too much. I never would have used them in art until we started to for a certain drawing class.
Thanks, it is actually supposed to be a Chik-fil-a spoof. Also I typically draw with pen, but I do like the challenge of drawing with a sharpie.
So I decided to draw the 404 error page for gw2, with the quaggan holding the 404 sign, but I added a twist.
Drawn with a sharpie (I use such cheep art supplies I know… =P).

Request:-
Draw my character with background optional
Do you plan to use color or just make a line drawing?:
Line drawing, I typically draw with pen or sharpie, depending on the level of detail I want to bring out. In addition I draw things close to how I see them, however I will often add flare to my drawing by altering or “fading” the drawing in some way, so be sure to tell me your characters class if you want an effect fitting.
Do you receive/check your PM’s?:
yes
…wtf, dieing is Not fun…
Depends, in your case I agree it doesn’t sound like fun… however death by eating charr hot sauce over and over while bouncing around in flames is a little fun.=P
You can do more damage without damaging your stats if you did 2 rifles and 2 GS’s. Do rifle/GS of bloodlust until you have full stacks, then switch to rifle/GS of force. You will keep your stacks of bloodlust until downed while having the sigil of force. So essentially you will have +250 power and +5% damage on both weapons, instead of being restricted to one or the other.
That said, I hope to not have to face you in wvw. =P
Cool drawing, nice stealth effect!
Thank you, to be honest the reason I drew it like that was to avoid having to draw the feet and hands. =P
That’s nice. Very thief-y!
Thanks

Yes, good old Killroy Stonekin from GW1, possibly one of my favourite mmo mini-games.
“I got this jump”
“I got this vetera- oh my god the adds!”
“I can take him…<10 people come out of stealth>… well kitten”
“Ok I am ready for the boss now guys <phone rings>”

“Just going to inch my way to the edge of this platform <rolls off edge>”
“Hey look a red circle!”
“Don’t worry, I have enough dps to carry us”
“Why is lieutenant kholer raising his sword like that?”
Thank you! I am currently working on drawing my asuran character using the same style. =)
“On the 1001 day of xmas my true love GW10 gave to meee…1001 days to count,1000 less digits than normal, a 111 series golem ,110 awesome runes, 101 numbers with 100 digits,100 numbers with 100 places, 11, 10 digits, and the gift of binary =P"
edit; forgot to count down the days, tells you how much I listen to xmas music.

Agreed, I think it is a trap.
Here is a link to my doodle demonstrating my theory…

You know what the funniest thing is…
wait for it…
yes, 5 signet warriors do less DPS than non-5 signet warriors
So the one thing they want to do, the one main thing they care about… they do it worse than other warriors.
Gotta love it.
I can relate to this. Let me elaborate on this point, think dungeons. If you have a 5 signet full zerker all offense build, you can do insane dps… while you are alive. However you do little damage while downed, and none when dead. This means all the time these warriors spend dead, which is a lot, they are doing no damage, so their DPS which means damage per second is much lower over the course of the dungeon as to get dps you most average there damage over the time they are trying to do damage… including when they are dead or downed.
In addition they are not doing what I like to call indirect dps. Which is how much damage you are making other players do. Stuff like aoe might, and vulnerability can significantly boost your teams damage essentially making you more valuable, even if your numbers may not be super amazing dps.
Wildcode, can you take screenshots of your character with your 5 sig build, and your shout build? It would be more helpful to us to see what went wrong.
Pic #1: Shout build suggested by forums
Pic #2: Signet build I had been running ever since I was able to
Pic #3: Modified signet build for better healing (because I get alot of adren…)
@ Hellkaiser … I dont run berserker armor on my warrior, I run with toughness armor (pack runes) for dungeons and magic find (pirate runes) armor for open world, and swap out jewels for the same.
Not as familiar with the shout build suggested in this thread, but just from seeing your original build I can tell you your 5 sig warrior build looks much better than what we are complaining about. What would be wrong is if you were 30/30/10/0/0, and specced with full zerkers, but you are MUCH more balanced than that. However 2 things I would suggest is make sure you are very good at dodging(this tip applies to everyone and all builds), and possibly drop 1 or 2 signets. With 3-4 signets you still get a really good boost in precision and that also frees up 1-2 utility slots for stuff like for great justice, endure pain, shake it off etc. This will allow for much greater flexibility, and if you go with a shout like for great justice you are then helping your group much more.
I wouldn’t go so far as to say that, hellkaiser. Wildcode put in the effort to try out an unfamiliar build. For that, already he’s not the pig headed guy you make him out to be
I’m just really interested in what caused his dps to get halved. Because it definitely isn’t caused by the loss of precision from running 5 signets. Unless he’s at a low level, where stats are low across the board. Then the precision bonus is huge. But if he’s putting out 10k numbers previously with 100b, he’s definitely lvl 80. Which is why i’m confused.
Wildcode, can you take screenshots of your character with your 5 sig build, and your shout build? It would be more helpful to us to see what went wrong.I’m only awake like, 20 minutes. Torn from my slumber by my cute yet annoying dog looking for a random wee at just shy of 4am.
My patience for the usual garbage claims is at an all time low, and what he claims was just that…. garbage. And the fact he exaggerated quite a bit, and offered up a somewhat sketchy set of mostly skewed viewpoint feedback all leads me to believe he’s talking out of his rectum.i could literally convert his post to a pokémon speech and it would make more sense
“Damage! daah-maaage. Damagedamage da da. maaaage mage damage dadamagamage DAMAGEDAMAGE!”
Though I can see what you are trying to say, you could have been a tad more polite. If you want people to listen to what you say, invoking rage/ranting is not the way to do it.
Back on topic, my main is a warrior and I would like to point out I run a hammer / rifle shout build. Though there is one place 5 sig full zerker warriors are nice, and that is in solo-farming open world Pve, not dungeons.
I think the reason we see so many DPS face-plant builds is due to the misconception of how this game works as compared to other mmo’s. In a typical mmo DPS face plant builds work as you have a healer to support them in the case you cannot quickly drop your foe, but as there is no sole healer in gw2 a DPS build most be self reliant to an extent.
The other big misconception is that in most mmo’s you do not actively dodge like in GW2. If you think you will do fine in any of the dungeons without dodging or making any attempt to avoid attacks, you are sadly mistaken.
So in summary:
I have seen many five signet warriors that may have done better if they didn’t stay in god knows how many red circles, without dodging, while wailing away at the main boss for the 2 seconds they were alive, and then raging to the group as to why we weren’t helping them.
Inspired by a thread on the GW2 discussion forum about Toymaker Tixx and his devious plots. Was going for a very cartoony style.
Drawn with a cheap gel pen.
sometimes I wish fall damage didnt scale with hp. It’s rather hard to rack up fall damage when warriors get double yours just because they have higher base…
You my friend have most definitely bested me, awesome job getting the Master of death achievement… now can anyone best this?
I am seeing lots of locked threads, and posts regarding the locking of threads. If you don’t want your thread locked or to be potentially suspended or banned from the forum read the Code of Conduct for the Forums!
I will now quote some of the rules from the code of conduct that I feel are commonly broken that may be less obvious,
“Do not engage in staff call-outs. Using the words “ArenaNet” or any staff member’s name will not expedite the answer to your query.”
“Do not debate Customer Support decisions or actions. Threads or posts designed to announce, appeal, or contest your own or another player’s suspension or account termination—be it forum or game account—will be removed without notice.”
“Do not post about locked, deleted, or otherwise moderated threads or posts. Moderation happens for a reason. A staff member or moderator may lock a thread before posting in order to promptly curtail continued comments. If you have yet to see a comment by a staff member on a locked thread, please wait for the comment to appear and do not post a new thread on the subject. If you have questions regarding forum moderation, send an email to forums@arena.net.”
“Do not post petitions, “I demand an answer” threads, conspiracy threads, or comments about circumventing the rules.”
“Do not post on behalf of a suspended or banned user.”
-End of Quotes-
However I shouldn’t really have to post this as you should have already read the code of conduct!!! As the code of conduct is the rules for this forum!
Get the hint?
Well, adhering to a strict order like “first stability/bugs, then new content/balancing” is not always possible. First of all, there are different developers working on different things..
Though I agree with your post, there is one thing I would like to say. I am aware that there are separate live action teams, and that it makes little sense to move people from one to a another. However it does not mean that there can’t be more focus on a team. In the extreme case that there are two people trying to fix all the bugs in the game, the bugs will likely never get fixed. However if they expanded there bug fixing team to 10 and hired 8 more people the bugs would likely get fixed faster. Granted they would then be having to pay more employees, but if that means a less buggy game, that means more people may decide to buy the game.
I really like gw2 but I feel the bugs are breaking the game, and giving the game a bad name. I feel if it stays this buggy, they will lose a lot more people. The new content is nice, but if I can’t play it do to class bugs what’s the point.
Also I highly agree with what you said about communication between the teams, I think it would be both beneficial to players and GW2 if there was as much communication as possible
Last thing I will say for the Devs and Mods is that I am not trying to rant and complain about the game, nor am I trying to say arena net is doing a sucky job. I want to see this game do well. I however am not a game dev, but as a customer this is my view point. I am just trying to add some positive criticism. =)
As I said in a post on the main forums, I would rather see the quality of the game improved over new content as well. I feel the game has lots of potential, and in my opinion what is holding it back is the bugs and some of the recent design decisions.
If the bugs are not addressed, I may go back to guild wars 1. I will say this again though this game has LOTS of potential for me, but it feels like it is being wasted.
This is not an exploitable bug, nor does it really stop me from doing any content. So while it is spectacular, I would still call it a minor bug.
I think there is an invisible wall missing or something, in dredge naught cliffs outside one of the tunnels in Dostoev Sky Peak. I was able to get on top of the dredge caves, and there was lots of broken geometry. It did not look like a place i was supposed to be able to get to. In addition there were many places you could get stuck, and would then have to use a way point to get out of.
See attached images for more info.
I shall now post my fall, and raise the bar a little…
…I really want to see this beaten
any damage falling, combat, whatever
Just for fun I will start a challenge… Who can take the most damage?
Rules:
-You can die(and will probably need too)
-You have to get a screenshot showing the damage you have taken.
-The game you take the damage in must be GW2
-The person with the highest damage taken will earn the honorary achievement “Master of Death”
-No Photoshop(be legit)
I will wait to post my screen as it is ridiculously high amount of damage and I want to see what others get before posting it.
Have fun… dying =P
<see’s asuran present>
IT’S A TRAP! … but maybe- No it is definitely a trap.
Really what else would an asuran present be?
I just wanted to make my preference clear, I am not saying I hate the game nor am I trying to QQ.
If I had a choice between new content or quality, I would choose quality hands down.
What I mean is I would prefer focus on bug fixes, class balancing, quality content over tons of holiday events, and lots of new dungeons, I like new content don’t get me wrong, but I would rather have it and existing content be of good quality.
I am not saying that GW2 is an awful game in fact I quite enjoy GW2, however I do want to make where I would like to see attention lie clear as a customer.

Thanks for the letting me know, and welcome
What timing, just created a guild and website and posted my guild’s info at almost the exact same moment you posted your guild’s info. Don’t really know what to do here.
My guild is also aimed at helping people with dungeons, particularly finding a good group. We do not have mumble yet, but we have a website. My guild only consists of two people at the moment though.
Do not know if having two guilds that do the same thing would be redundant, and you seem to have more member’s than us. I do not know how you want to handle this, maybe an alliance, or some sort of merge. If we do decide to join forces all I could really offer is a working website, assuming you don’t already have one.
We are a brand new guild, seeking new mature players (who want to do dungeons). Currently it is just me and a friend (I said brand new didn’t I), but I hope to grow to have around 50-100 members.
About Dungeons Anonymous,
We are a “Guild” that is for people wanting to do dungeons and are sick of jumping from map to map to find a random PUG’er they don’t know. The idea behind this guild is really to serve as a focused chat channel/database for people looking for a PUG, or wanting to discuss different dungeons.
We do not expect anyone to “Commit” to our guild. If you want to represent another guild while you are not looking to run a dungeon that is perfectly fine with us.
There is an application you must fill out to join, but it is mostly for other players to see what you tend to run, your play style, etc. The only “Requirement” is you have to have a character at least level 30, as that is the minimum level you must be to do the lowest level dungeon. In addition we only want mature, respectful players, so if you have a tendency to rage when things don’t go your way, this probably is not your guild.
Here is the website for the guild,

Simple BAN CHINA from the rest of the worlds Internet.
Most bots are actually prisoners in China forced by Guards to play games til they drop.
And then the money made from Goldselling goes to the Guards/Warden and up the chain. There was a news article a while back.
Two words- Political. Nightmare.
I said this on another similar post, but I will say it again as it is good advice;
DO NOT BUY GOLD FROM GOLD-SELLERS!!!!
If there are no costumers there is no business!
Bots need to be stopped behind the scenes, not by limiting everyone. I don’t play the markets or go through large quantities of items on a daily basis – but some legitimate players do and shouldn’t have to be penalised.
Fair enough.
Do you think these legitimate players are selling at a level equal to the bots(not that i condone selling lots of things, just botting.) if so then my solution is rubbish. If not than why not set a cap that a legitimate player cannot reach, but a bot can?
Because, once the bot coders know of the limit, they will reprogram their bots to avoid it. Which has a side effect of making them harder to detect, since if the activity level is unable to be hit by human players then anyone exceeding it is an obvious bot. But adding the limit means bots will no longer hit that activity level.
In the long run, detecting and banning the bots is the only realistic solution. Trying to limit their damage is only going to make bots harder to detect and/or hurt regular players.
Did not think of it that way. Makes sense though.
How would I treat it? I wouldn’t be able to, I’m not an experienced game dev or programmer.
Just because I’m not the “how guy”, it doesn’t mean that I can’t say an idea isn’t the best course of action. While I can’t program a fancy system to shut down every bot and figure out who’s a player and who’s a gold farmer – I have played other games with the same problem and have seen how badly some approaches can affect it.
I say let the people behind the scenes work out their strategy and do their thing, as opposed to losing the ability to interact with other players and have restrictions on all of our actions. I’ve seen MMOs with once-vibrant communities pretty much turned into single player games where players have to jump through hoops to prove that they’re humans, then find that content is hurt because bots were using it.
I don’t claim to have all the answers, nor do I have a magical solution – but I do have a warning. When bots are concerned, treating the symptoms never ends well – since at the end of the day, the symptom is that the bots are playing the game and using the same content that we do.
That’s true…
However I guess it boils down to the lesser of two evils, risk ruining the game via economy vs. content.
I guess the last thing I have to say is DO NOT BUY GOLD FROM GOLD-SELLERS!!!!
If there are no costumers there is no business!
Bots need to be stopped behind the scenes, not by limiting everyone. I don’t play the markets or go through large quantities of items on a daily basis – but some legitimate players do and shouldn’t have to be penalised.

Please no. I’ve seen enough of “treating the symptoms and not the disease” when it comes to bots. Some bots can solve captcha, while some genuine players can’t. Gold farmers and bot users could also just type it in manually when it’s needed. Lastly, why should genuine players have to go through this just for a very minimal protection against the bot problem?
The things that catch the bots are behind the scenes, visible things are just for show and usually a hindrance.
How would you treat the disease then? I am sure ANET is closing hacked accounts and so fourth, but as long as there are accounts that can be hacked and people buy gold there will be bots.
So I say treat both.
I have heard tell that bots are using the TP (tho I personally do not know the validity of this statement)
but if it is so and it is a large issue (at least as large as the person mentioning it to me made it sound to be) couldn’t it be solved by adding a captcha to the sell screen?
That was my post…
Not actually sure if they are using it or not. However I think it is very likely. I Have seen lots of bots farming different mobs, but to get the gold they have to sell it. Granted a lot of the drops can be vendored, but some of the crafting mats sell better on the TP.
The numbers I used were based on how many small venom sacs I got farming for 1 hour on my warrior (not using a botting program, as I do not support or do botting.) When I multiplied the number of sacs i got in 1 hour by 24 I realized a bot could easily farm over a 1,000 small venom sacs a day, especially if they had another bot supporting them (notice alot of bots farm in groups.) Now if you were a bot and you had 1,000+ small venom sacs would you sell them to a vendor for 5 copper, or on the TP for 50-60 copper (last I looked, may have went up or down in price)?
So just to be clear I fell strongly that bots do use the TP, although I have no way of proving it.
There is a whip in gw2, You use it in an event in iron marches to train lashtail devourers.
So the animations are already mostly done. =)
There are so many times I would want to dye my weapons. I personally think if weapon dyes were on the gem store there would be a ton of sales.
At the trading post I have noticed no caps, limits, or diminishing returns (at least I am aware of.) Right now what is stopping a bot form putting thousands of one crafting material on the TP a day? My suggestion is to put a limit on how many things one person/account can sell in one given day on the TP. I do not think it needs to be strict, just something to insure bot level selling is reduced.
(edited by Deus Fatorum.2473)
Sorry, I wasn’t to clear. I understand it depends on what you do, hence why I said “for different purposes/builds.” So for what you do, or for your build what do you recommend?
@Proeliator
According to GW2 wiki all of those are attributes. I am not talking about trait lines, but rather your characters stats after traits, armor, weapons, accessories, runes, and sigils.
My initial post wasn’t too clear, so hopefully that clears it up.
How many points should people have in attributes as a bare minimum for a warrior, in your opinion? How many points would you recommend people have for different purposes/builds?
List of attributes
Primary
Power- Increases attack
Precision- Increases critical chance
Toughness- Increases armor
Vitality- Increases max health
Secondary attributes
Boon Duration- Improves the duration of all boons
Condition Damage- Improves the damage done by conditions
Condition Duration- Improves the duration of all conditions
Critical Damage- Improves damage done by critical hits
Healing Power- Improves all outgoing heals that your character does, including self heals
