Kildemort (W) / Killer Claws (G)
Deadly God (En) – Fort Aspenwood
I will, in no way, reroll my Necro. Although I do have names/classes reserved already for when my main hits 80: Elementalist, Mesmer, Thief and Warrior.
Revolving around Blind is useful if you have an extremely offensive group that can kill the mobs while they are missing their hits.
Focusing on this build would lower your average DPS abilities to just Plague (low DPS), Well of Suffering+Bone Minions (high DPS) and DS #4 (variable DPS dependant on Life Force).
So, according to this, Dagger is the weapon for DPS, although it would mean losing an AoE cripple…
IMO weakness is over-valued.
Most people I see still seem to think it’s a flat 50% dmg reduction on non-crits. When it’s actually a 50% chance for a 50% reduction on non crits, which roughly translates to 25% dmg reduction on average on something that has 0% crit chance. When someone has 50% crit chance (pretty much any crit build, not sure if mobs crit) that’s only a 12.5% dmg reduction. Compared to protection it’s laughable and not as consistent.
Would be nice if they made weakness a straight up 25% dmg reduction PERIOD.
Actually for PvE is very usefull, I usually do it like this:
Scepter 1×3 (for full cond), Scepter 2, OH Dagger 5, Well of Suffering, CPC, Epidemic, DS, DS 4.
Deathly Swarm: Nice but i have Epidemic(another must have for Condition Master)
They are two different abilities. I personally like using epidemic then followed by deathly swarm
I would actually cast Deathly Swarm first and quickly Epidemic to spread the Blidness too.
Or just attack a higher-lv mob and let it do its job while u run like hell not to getkittenby it.
Thank you all for the advice. Went along with what Arvid suggested in the end and went all out, ignoring the fact that he heals from conditions. It went smooth as, well, for me at least. ‘PuG why u no dodge?!’ comes to mind.
Should have read his advice a lil sooner. We did not wipe, but I died a few times due to his incredibly-OP burning abilities.
Burning lasts for-freaking-ever
It would be like Evy’s golem in Vidictus…
But it would be a pain to render in WvWvW, as each player’s computer would have to render each Necro’s minions, resulting in lower system performances.
Although if we don’t get some love, Necros will be less and less… XD
I’d like to see what can be done against a zerg of enemies. Your minions are as good as dead.
As I stated in another thread. I rather be in the backline, throwing conditions here and there and casting Epidemic.
Now, in s/tPvP is a whole different matter.

A minion-based build lacks a lot in the AoE department. Yes, Bone Minions explode. Yes, you get staff AoEs. Yes, you get Scepter or Daggers, AoE.
But what about Epidemic? Wells? Plague? Lich Form?
MM builds are for 1v1 fights. Although it could also cause your doom if your opponent keeps on using your low-HP minions to Rally over and over again.
You’ll end up with all minions in CD and open to be slaughtered.

I have to agree with what is being said here. If you are a Necro in WvWvW and are located in the frontline of the battlefield, you are doing something TERRIBLY wrong.
Necros are ment to be like the archers in a war, backline AoE killing machines. We are not cavalry.
Just stay back, target a foe with the most conds on him/her or (as stated above) talk to your team to focus on one foe and drop hell on that person, hit Epidemic and let the rest of your team finish the job.
We are not meant to be the actual killers, just letting the Finish Him! banner above everyone’s head so your team does the Fatalities (MK anyone? XD).
Just think about this. As long as you hit a foe a couple of times, no matter WHO kills him/her, you still get the rewards. So why moaning about being killed by 1 when you can demolish many?
Go to Kessex Hills and repeat over and over again the DE chain of the centaurs and you will gain a fair amount of xp/karma/coins every run.
Also keep doing your personal story that rewards a lot of xp.
Then, at lv 50 go to Bloodtide Coast, go to the lower left side of it and do the Risen Thrall+Griffon chain and you can easily get to 65+.
All you need are Consume Condition/Well of Suffering/CorrosivePoison Cloud/Epidemic/Plague and you are set to some serious xp/lv boost.

After the max stacks of 25 is reached you will only see your base dmg. No more bleeds will be applied until one stack is lost and you can land a stack of your own. Am I clear?

I use a Scepter+Dagger/Staff build and I love it.
Except for Boss monsters I ALWAYS get Gold in Dynamic Events.
What I do is Cast Scepter 2 and 5 right off the bat, then Well of Suffering+Corrosive Poison Cloud, then a few 1s and then Epidemic. Finally I pop DS and cast 4. If they are not all dead, my Scepter 2 is already up again or I switch to Staff for a few Marks.
buy black dye :P
It’s insanely expensive.

You can also target a Guardian that is buffed up like the is no tomorrow, Cast Corrupt Boon and then Epidemic and see the lil numbers fly.
Maybe that was the original Death Shroud animation. I prefer the current one tho.
Problem solved. Seems like a lag-spike+disconnection did not take one of the PoIs. 100%’d it now.
I have 100% in 8 maps or so already. All of them but Bloodtide Coast have given me the Reward Chest for doing so.
As soon as I get home, I will. Trust me, I have 100%’d it.
I have finished Bloodtide Coast map at 100% but the only think I got was the mail stating this but never got the Blue Chest reward. I just saw this video and raged a bit.
Pls check I have completed the map and never got the rewards, besides I really need those items/money!
My info is on my sig.
Thanks in advance.
My gfx card is below-par to play this game at places where zergging occurs (World/Group Events – WvW), but still I perform pretty well with my lv 58 Necro and with just 10 points in traits lines (yeah, I’m a cheap kitten saving for the 2g Necro Trait Book).
But although I kill ppl 1 snapshot at a time (1 FPS FTW… NOT!) I perform faily well as support or damage adder.
I use Scepter/Dagger+Staff with Precision/Condition Dmg in Armor, Power/Precision in Weapons and Condition Dmg/Power/Precision and Toughness in Accessories.
My Elites are (for now) Consume Conditions/Well of Suffering/Corrosive Poison Cloud/Epidemic (Rules!)/Plague. What I do, is casting all at a distance and targetting the enemy with the most Conditions and drop Epidemic on him and lets my fellow warriors to do the rest. Plus DS #4 is amazing to finish the work.
I shall change Well of Suffering for Corrupt Boon tho to help Epidemic be more effective.
Been running a Death Shroud / Well based build for weeks now. 10/30/0/0/30 – I pretty much sit at 80% crit all the time with 99% crit damage. Fun times.
Could you give us a hint on gear stats/runes?
During low lv playing it is better to go with Scepter/Dagger for Bleed or Dagger/Warhorn for Vulnerability.
I chose the former.
I’d get Toughness on Accessories, as I did.
Maybe some too on one of your weapons. Depends on your skillfulness and how you manage to withstand damage.
So I have a few questions regarding leveling. At the moment I am a scepter/dagger condition Necro 10 curses 10 spite and 6 is in he toughness traitline(forgot the name of it )
1. I am huge on looks and I’d love to use a staff a lot cause they look cool, would a staff build be viable for leveling? If so what trait spec/skill slots should I use?
2. I recently purchased my cultural tier 1 as an Asura. But the runes I am using is minor afflicted, krait and centaur I think so it’s 15% more bleed duration. Should I be using different runes for the scepter/dagger spec?
3. For a bleed trait spec which type of gear should I look for in terms of stats and name? Before I got my cultural tier I was buying all “ravager” gear.
Thanks for any help! I’m really just trying to spice things up since scepter/dagger is getting a tad stale and I’m not totally sure what I’m doing!
1. If you are a Necro and you don’t have a Staff as one of your weapons, you are doing something TERRIBLY wrong.
2. I suggest using 2x Runes of the Afflicted + 2x Runes of the Traveler (Magic Find is always useful) + another Rune that would give you Power/Precision and Condition Damage.
3. You should focus in +Power, +Precision (for the trait that has a Bleed chance on crit) and +Condition Damage as you will be doing exactly that, placing Conds on mobs.

Sometimes it’s a nice challenge to actually manage to tag mobs in an event by having to cast two wells, 2 abilities from the staff and #4 in Deathshroud form while others can just spam 1 button
….. sometimes… most of the times it’s frustrating :<
I agree. In order to deal with a mob crowd I need to do (at least) this:
1. Cast Scepter 2 and 5
2. Switch to my Staff and cast from 2 to 5 in quick succession
3. Cast Well of Suffering and/or Corrosive Poison Cloud
4. Cast Epidemic just in case some mob/s did not get the whole enchilada
5. Cast Consume Conditions and/or switch to DS and cast 4 to finish things off
Too many skills at once to kill a few mobs around my lv or 1 or 2 above if you ask me.
On the other hand, for regular 1vs1 killing Scepter 1 in auto and then Dagger 4 for a quick Blind and then Scepter 3 for spike damage.
Thanks for keeping the thread on point and constructive <3
I was about to say the same thing. No trolling nor offensive statements whatsoever so far. Hopefully it will stay this way for as long as this topic exists.
Amazing post! Should be regularly updated with this information and added to the very first post so there is no need to be searching through many posts.
Divinity’s Reach also has them kind of together. You can go from one waypoint to the other I recall one being called Commons Waypoint and I think the other was Crafters Waytpoint or such. Justa lil’ bit of loading involved.
I’m at lv 50 with my Necro and I kind of agree with you on this. My char eats dirt on WvW sooo bad. But when dealing with PvE I tend to do fairly well both solo and in groups. Epidemic is an amazing Elite as I ask ppl to focus on a mob and then I just transfer all the conds to nearby enemies and BOOM! They are dead.
As a proof, I have my deathcount in less than 70.
(edited by Devilsmack.5736)
What I suggest doing is 1-spam for a few hits, cast 2, then 4 to sink the mob and get a little air and if in trouble… 5 for a huge damage boost. Cast time sucks, tho.
I tend to use Staff and Scepter+Dagger for PvE.
The stack of Bleeds that the Scepter Auto-Attack makes plus any bleeding duration buff (gear or traits) can make a you DoT monster + Scepter 3 that makes damage based on amount of conditions and syphon health is pretty useful.
My skill selection is Consume Condition+Well of Suffering+Corrosive Poison Cloud+Plague.
When doing Dynamics what I do is I try to focus on the mobs with the most conditions and cast Epidemic to spread them around and just see the XP come to me. With the CD reduce I can cast it every 15 secs.
Plus WoS and CPP cause conditions on me, so I use Consume Conditions for an extra puff of air.
I am pretty much an AoE killing machine.

I joined the Whispers Order and got a Staff so far.
