Dungeon Etiquette: Attitude and Behavior

OP talks about dungeon “etiquette” yet the whole post feels like elitism to me.

The OP talks about people who complains about class/group setup and then in the next bullet down begins to complain about ranged weapons and how he has never seen a good ranger or thief….

You also state that people who join PUGs should not try to run the group…. maybe because you want to run the group your way?

There is also good reasons for not rezzing someone off the ground. Often times, when a player goes down, they can be in a really bad situation. If a player goes to rez them, then the “domino effect” can occur, and it can cause more players to go down. This is seen in fights like Alpha or Lupi, where at times its just impossible to get to someone to rez them. To make a black and white statement like “there is no excuse to not rez someone,” makes it sound like you do not know what you are talking about.

I like how people are quick to forget the epic fail of Lost Shores.

Some of the population got precursors at the end, and this caused a riot on the forums. People were on here complaining about how unfair it was and about how they did not get one, and so on.

I wonder how many of you I will see on here moaning about the same thing if they do decide to do this.

This topic has been made 100 times but whatever.

1)There is no fail condition. Lets say no one showed up to do Jormag. You could literally let him sit there for 1 week/month/year/decade/century and he would still be there yelling and screaming and not doing anything…
2) They do not hit hard enough. Half the time at these events the boss barely even scratches my HP bar. Give them AoE that if people do not move out the way they take massive damage.

When I use my old Greatsword, I throw rocks.

So is this new or a bug? I really like it personally.

As soon as I got my Dusk it instantly went into the bank and sat there on the #1 slot in the first tab.

There are a few reason I did not equip it:
1)If ArenaNet announced they would make precursors easier to get, I would sell the Dusk as quickly as possible and try to get most of my money back, and just obtain the Dusk again with the easier method.
2)I did not want to accidentally salvage it or destroy it. I kept it in the bank to make sure the chance of this happening was 0%.

im guessing you havent farmed much? you are right, there was no gun to my head, it was my choice. BUT consider the time involved, 600 dragons over a month or over 5 monthes is still 600 dragons. why should everyone be able to get in 5 dragons down rthe line because a small group complained hard enough

I’ve farmed enough to know that something’s got to give. It isn’t a small group of people either. Most folks don’t have legendaries therefore I bet if you asked the majority would be in favor of such a change.

Of course the vast majority would be in favor of a change if it made it easier to get. That does not make the vast majority in the “right.” So whats your argument here? Anyone can make general statements, but just because you are stating facts does not mean you have generated an argument from the facts.

Anet has stated that not everyone will be able to get a legendary. They have said that most casuals probably will not get that far. Is there anything wrong with this? No, because a legendary does not offer anything more than lowest costing lvl 80 exotic besides looks.

People always complain about the precursor, yet the other gifts required take just as much farm if not more farm depending on which legendary you want. Yesterday in another topic I calculated the price of the gift of fortune to be 509g if you receive average luck on RNG for the clovers. This price is above the costs of some of the precursors.

The gift of fortune is just as market dependent as the precursor is. Yet, people avoid complaining about it. People claim that precursors are controlled by a small few, yet they do not bring hard evidence to the table about this being so.

The Destroyer Crab Champion is skippable and the equivalent in the other 2 paths would be to fight the mobs instead of exploding the cage (path 1 optional) and fighting the husk and dog mobs (path 2 optional).

As for Alpha, which earth attack? He has two. The first one is the large circles he spawns on people that you can easily walk out of. The second one is a series of increasingly growing AoE circles that travel out of him in a direction of his choosing. This one is harder to dodge but does less damage. The only effective way I found of dodging it was to literally stand inside of Alpha so the AoE circles cannot hit you.

Yes there’s veteran mobs before the crab as well. The crab is the only champion mob in all 3 paths.
I was talking about the second one. Do you run this path a lot? Are you on European or American server?

Im on a US server so I would not be able to help you much.

So you were willing to farm 800g for the other components, but you refuse to farm 600g for the precursor?

800 gold? I wish I had farmed that much lol..

I bought all the tier 6 materials when they were really low except bloods and tokens which were 120g combined. The others were around 5gold per stack 6 times 6= 36g.
120g = Bloods and Totems
36g= One of each T6, bought cheap
100g = Runestones
500 ectos= Max 120g
I got from salvaging and buying rares from the trade post for 20s each.
2G for the superior blood sigil.

Equals 378 gold, not 800.

So instead of spending the 378g on the precursor, you chose to spend it on the t6 materials. That was your choice and you have to live with it.

Back in November I had the same choice you.
I had about 350g and I choose to spend it on Dusk instead of the t6.
Currently, I finished my Twilight about a week ago, and let me tell you, it felt horrible spending a lot of money on those t6 and I felt like I “over payed” for it.

You made the wrong choice, and now you came to the forms to complain about it.

I did not have 350 gold in November, I had probably earned 200g all together by then. I had 50 gold to spend and I saw that the prices on the T6 were really low and I bought them.

I allready had 30-40 clovers at that point.

You really think I would not buy the precursor If I had the money?

If you had 200g in November, then why did not you not buy Dusk when it dropped below 200g?

I bought my dusk for about 350g back in November a week before the Karka event.

Do you know how mad I was to see that I had effectively wasted 150g?
After this, it seem like I always have hit the wrong buying times for all my items.
I bought Onyx lodestones for 2.5g roughly and now they about 2g. Another 50g lost.
And t6 were some of the last things I had to buy, and with bot bans they skyrocketed so again I had to “overpay” for things.

So sorry if I do not feel any sympathy towards people who complain about the cost when I effectively wasted over 200g for nothing.

I HAD earned 200g that does not mean I didn’t spend any. Should I have walked around in green gear maybe? Not spending a single gold, rigjt.

This is not a discussion about the price of the precursor, it’s about making the precursor be aquired from playing the game, not farming the best way to earn gold 24/7..

Ill leave the thread with this last statement:

Isn’t farming playing the game? (It is if you want the answer)

So basically, you do not want to spend a large amount gold kind of like how you did not have to spend a lot of gold for t6 materials.

Right now, the other two money gifts cost between 200g-400g (this is a rough estimate). So all of a sudden 600g is a problem.

Honestly, this thread sounds like someone wants to be spoon fed the rest of the way.
I really hope if they ever implement the scavenger hunt you have to spend 600g+.

Thats not the case at all, Aquiring a legendary should be uniqe. Not farming the same thing over and over to get the gold and buying it off the trade post. If I wanted I could get my Dusk in 4-5 weeks non stop farming CoF.. I’ve made 140g the last two weeks doing CoF + Fractals.

But, you know, it gets boring.. I want something different, it doesnt matter if it takes 4 months to complete as long as it’s not grinding the best way to get gold over and over..

So basically, now you are changing the point of your topic from being: “I want a precursor easy” to “make legendaries not a grind.”

As of now, to effectively “buy” a gift a fortune it would cost you 509.24g off of todays market and this estimate was done off of highest buy order (not lowest seller) and a person averaging average on the RNG of mystic clovers. You could effective add or subtract another 50g+ to that number.

Why doesn’t no one complain about the cost of gift of fortune? It is as variable to market movements as much as the precursor is.

Ill tell you why: its because the actual cost of it is effectively hidden, and players actually have to use concepts like “math” to realize how much it costs.

of course if you calculate how much it cost to do it you realize it is not cheap, still i have my 77 clovers and not payed a coin in the tp for doing it… only the karma for the obsidian shards and the skill points for the crystals.
edit: what i mean to say is i didn’t have to farm the gold to buy mats to do the recipe. i had my ecto by salvaging rare items i found playing the game

Just because you do not use gold to buy your items, does not mean you avoided paying the cost.

You had a choice like everyone does: Sell your ectoplasm/coins or keep them. If you choose to keep them, you effectively “payed” that cost by the gold you could otherwise have had.

A lot of people seem to miss this concept. You pay for everything in this game: be it by time or gold.

You’re not at full power at lvl 80 in AC… Barely at a quarter of your power…

Traits and utilitys . Thats main source of power for our chars. Without full trait tree your char is merely a shadow of his class.

It depends on the build you are running. You have full access to all skills/utilities at level 30, which is below recommended level for all dungeons. While it is true that you do not have access to all traits, that will only make some builds unusable.

Yes, an 80 will be better. But the difference is too slight to exclude people.

If you are always caring the best gear for your level, then you could have been lvl 80 with best gear for the amount of money you spent on your gear changes.

Therefore, you are acting illogical and your argument is invalid.

Illogical statements =/= counterargument

Spending money on gear does not slow level progression. And some choose to always run best stats. That is not illogical. It may not be efficient, but there is solid logic to using the best gear possible.

There is a difference between spending some money on gear and spending money on gear to always be best gear. If you want to be in best gear at every single level possible, you are going to have spend more money then it would take to just max yourself via crafting and having the best gear at lvl 80. Therefore, it is (we will use your word here as you think word choice is oh so important) inefficient to do this. As this thread is all about efficiency, being inefficient is effectively being illogical.

Therefore, a lvl 35 with best gear will never exist because it would inefficient to do so. This thread is about being as efficient as possible. If you are trying to work inefficiency into your argument, then you have already lost the argument.

There is a stat difference, yes. With dynamic level adjustment, however, that difference is minimal to non-existant provided both charas are in top gear for their level.

Here is the thing though. No player under level 80 is in their top gear for their level. Nobody spends money on top gear for their level because that gear will become obsolete at each level up. So what this mean is sure a lvl 35 will have some lvl 35 gear, but most of their gear will not be lvl 35 simply because they cannot afford it or choose not to buy it because it will become obsolete quickly.

The people who can afford top gear every level up do not do this, because they could just spend money to level to 80 off of crafting and could use the money to buy top gear at lvl 80.

When im leveling I always carry the best possible gear for my level, so no, your stament is not true.

If you are always caring the best gear for your level, then you could have been lvl 80 with best gear for the amount of money you spent on your gear changes.

Therefore, you are acting illogical by breaking my statement and your argument is invalid.

I agree that the place needs something to do because all it has now is a few scattered events and two jumping puzzles, so going there to do anything besides farm karka is a waste of time.

My suggestions:
1)More dynamic events. Simple really and I do not think it would be that hard to come up with more.
2)A meta event chain that has some type of boss at the end as mentioned in this thread.
3) A dungeon with explorer paths. Two ideas for the content could be:
a)Clearing out the remaining Karka. Maybe have 1 path deal with pirates that have set up camp on the island or something like that.
b)The more interesting idea. Dealing with the Water dragon’s minions. Maybe have each path start off on a boat and you sail out to sea and fight the water dragon’s minions. At the end you reach some sort of island or have to swim down and fight a minion or something like that. Would be very cool to see.

The only time I will run with sub 80s is if I am teaching my guildies how to do a dungeon run. Otherwise, the time I want to spend in dungeons with a pug group is the minimal amount of time possible and this occurs with lvl 80s. The only reason I pug anymore is for speedruns to make money.

Nothing wrong with that mentality.

You did do something epic. You’re taking a page out of a book and making it into the whole book. You’ve already cut off his magical food supply and partially blinded him. You also got rid of the corpses he was getting to build his undead army.

Furthermore, there’s no evidence that Zhaitan himself was particularly powerful, since he did almost all his damage by controlling undead. In the end, when you face him, you’re facing a creature you’ve already chased and have now have cornered.

There is one more point to this entire thing. Anet made a weird choice in making the very last mission in the personal story a story mode dungeon. Not everyone likes or does dungeons.

So if they make that battle challenging, everyone who doesn’t like dungeons are forced to do that dungeon to get that green text off their screen. I’ve run that story mode with people who have never entered another dungeon. They found it confusing and really really hard.

So yeah, by choosing to make the encounter a dungeon encounter, they sort of limited their options in the final boss fight. But it was still epic to me, because I was looking at the whole story, not just the last page.

Elder Dragons have said to be powerful, if not more powerful, than the human gods themselves. If Zhaitan really wanted to, he could have just landed on the giant airship as soon as he entered the battle. I am sure his weight would have brought that thing tumbling down. So, the last battle does not make very much sense if you think about it.

Second off, one of the only things the final mission does right is tie both the personal story and dungeon story together and finishes them off at the same time. As the dungeon story is about Destinies Edge, it makes sense that the final mission is in a dungeon and that it ties all this together.

Third off, the game encourages you to do dungeons through the mail system by telling you whats going on and it even marks the location on your map. When I first heard about Eir getting in trouble in AC through the mail system, I wanted to do that dungeon as soon as possible (granted I play a Norn, but you get my point). In a sense, the dungeon stories are an expansion of your own story. If people did not do the dungeons, then that was their choice, not any fault of the games. To say that it is unfair that the final mission is in a dungeon is a bit unfair.

The only really good things of value is the Permanent Contracts. However, the drop rate is so low that it is not worth the money trying to go for them. Its just better to spend your money on other things.

As of now, it is much better to hoard your keys and wait for something good to come out and use them then.

Final Rest - Current Theories

Diviner.7405

With how low the drop rate is, and the likelihood that it’s a group event (so the Anet employee would need help from the community or from quite a few Anet employees) makes that not a real viable idea. The best Anet could really do (without revealing more about it) is to attain it on the test servers.

That would prove nothing though, since the test servers have frequently had cases where something worked fine there, but then faceplanted on the live servers. I think it’s reasonable to suspect that this is a case where everything looks perfectly fine on paper, all the numbers in the flowcharts seem to be in the proper place, and yet for some inexplicable reason the thing just doesn’t work on live.

I doubt Anet wouldnt notice something like that. The reason being that if it does srop from a major/popular boss, grenth, melandru, teq, etc. then id think anet would realize something is seriously wrong with the stats since collectively the players have killed each of those bosses at least a 1000 times since release. They did say the drop rate is very low but I doubt that low. Id still guess its in orr, just a much less popular legendary boss, like the one I suggested in the zhoqafa chain. The reddit user I had seen mentioned something interesting. He said during the final part of the chain where they meet the eye of zhaitan, he says something like “you have disturbed my FINAL RESTING place”. Along with thr fact that the people in the chain mention searching for something valuable

Also doubt Anet would not notice:
Godskull glitch
21 Karma exploit
Snowflake exploit
CM story money runs
Balthazar event chains and other event chains broken constantly for months
Cursed Shore farm
Plinxx Farm
Grenth Farm

Oh wait….

Pretty much even saying there is some sort of dialog or clue in the game that might point us in a direction would be fantastic. Right now anything we do have is purely speculation and considering the rarity of this thing, someone may never find it. It HAS to be an isolated event, one hardly anyone does or does often enough to even stumble onto it. Other than combing the wiki through every event that spawns a chest (we already know it’s a large chest) could easily narrow it done a bit. But that’s a lot of data to comb over. We aren’t even sure if it’s a low level zone or not. But we for sure can rule out the big ones, maw, all the dragons and all the temples, including arah opening event.

I really love how half the posts say the same thing over and over again and how they call for people to actually do stuff, but nothing ever gets done.

The item is looking to be a waste of time for anyone involved and the only reason to even go after it is to sell it for a large sum of cash. Its pretty much a winning lottery ticket at this point (which is sad IMO).

The boss/chest/event/whatever itself probably has an obscure amount of things that no on in their right mind would think of doing in order for it to spawn.

(Hypothetical example: Stand in one place at a certain time of day for 5min, then go to talk to NPC 1 hr later to give them an item that can only be found on every full moon in a window of 10min by killing a certain enemy. Doing this will spawn an event that has the slight chance of dropping Final Rest. Things like that that nobody will ever find.)

What determines skill in this game? I have done every single path in all dungeons, I go to WvW and fight players, I have done all temples even some of them solo, and I have done a lot of the events throughout all maps in this game.

Does this make me a skilled and deserving of a legendary? I do not know the answer to that question. Is what I have done in this game even that skillful? Is learning boss mechanics and how to dodge their attacks really skill?

This is the thing about Guild Wars 2. There is no skill, at all. Everything comes from learning and experience and there is little need for skill at all in this game.

This game is not Starcraft, a Moba (besides LoL), or any other game that requires skill. In those games I could learn the game and what everything does, but actually executing it is another matter entirely. This game does not have this, and thats fundamentally why this game will never be an e-sport.

So the skill argument does not exist. What could possible come up with that determines a player skills in a game where there is no skill to be had at all.

which price of precursors do you want

I don’t think Anet really cares about what price they ‘should’ be, because the economy for precursors are entirely player driven.

I believe they need to look at alternative ways of obtaining them, such as a level 400 craft recipe that requires a load of materials to compensate.

That way, prices will drop naturally, but if the materials required for the recipe are rare then the precursors will still hold an average value in which ‘normal’ players could potentially obtain with gold.

You could have lost some seconds to gather some informations…..
Just browsing any precursor threads will explain you how precursor are gold seller and speculators driven….

Not players driven…

Also experience in mmorpg tells easily that a broken economy leads fast to the game Death.

Imho aside gold seller, worst problem is legendary are a tier…
If they werent many people will just explore rare exotics.

It does not matter who is controlling the market, because at the end of the day if people are willing to pay those prices, then those are the correct prices for that item.

If everyone felt the price was to high, then the price would naturally lower over time as no one would be buying them. This is not the case, so obviously the prices right now are justifiable. Just because you feel its wrong, does not necessarily make it wrong.

300K spent on boxes today:
2 Priest
2 Destroyer Lode
2 Corrupted Lode
1 Crystal
1 Molten
1 Charged
3g in the trash

Worth it.

I wish there could be an alternative to get a precursor

Precursors are fine the way they are.

First off, if precursors were easier to get then you would see everyone one with it, and legendary would not be so legendary anymore.

Second off, every other item in the legendary build would increase in price. The thing that holds alot of people from even attempting a legendary. If suddenly people could get this item, everyone would be going for a legendary. The materials for these legendaries would skyrocket since everyone is buying them up.

So instead of paying 500g in one item, you will pay 500g in multiple items.

6 months in and same problems still present

in Dynamic Events

Diviner.7405

So the game has been out for a decent while, and yet I still see events bug and then you cannot do them anymore.

On my server (Darkhaven), the temple of Melandru has become bugged and the NPC will not start the event. This has become frustrating as I was doing a temple run (5 temples completed one after another) and on the last one, I could not do it cause Melandru was bugged.

This is not the only event I have seen that is bugged. Southern Cursed Shore has a chain down there where you kill the maggots and escort an NPC through a tunnel, but the NPC is no where to be found and thus none of the events start.

And this is not the only server having issues, I was guesting on a another server today, and I went to do the Maw for my daily, and found that it was bugged out and the NPC was standing at the dragon totem with nothing going on. This is a shame, since the Maw feels so epic for the new players, and doing that event really got me interested into the game when I first started.

Orr was overhauled in the last patch, but some of the bugs still exist. It feels as if nobody at ANet is doing anything about these bugs. These bugs are reported, and you would think it would be quick fixes, but these fixes never come out. It just shows laziness.

I think the main issue is that this game needs regular server resets to fix these things while permanent fixes are in the works. When the game first came out, things bugged frequently, but you could count a server reset every few days to fix it. Now though, the next server reset probably will not be until the big update at the end of the month so that means that these events will not be fixed for a really long time.

Server resets would be good because it allows for temporary fixes while permanent ones are in the works and it also allows for fixes for bugs that the devs might not be aware about.

This is how grenth should be opened

in Dynamic Events

Diviner.7405

Grenth is one of the few bosses where you actually have to understand the fight and the mechanics behind it in its entirety….. and it isn’t just YOU that has to understand it, its everyone person at the event has to as well.

This is what makes it one of the best and most frustrating events.
The problem is is that people go into the event not knowing what to do, not caring that they do not know, and not willing to learn. They are mindless people and they will pull Grenth everytime and the only thing you can do about it is hope they die before this happens.

The only upside is is that generally these people leave if they die or if the event fails as they are too lazy to actually wait around for the next attempt.

Past 8 people, I just ignore the shade entirely as they take to long to kill and will just down you with the 25 stacks of corruption. Its better to just go straight for the boss and hope the shades aggro on the bads while you kill the boss.

Sadly once again there is no new PVE content, heaps to do for fans of PVP, but we have had no new PVE content introduced since Fractals.

Im starting to think there is no point playing this game anymore as clearly the developers have no interest in PVE.

We were promised an “expansion worth of content”, ArenaNet has failed to deliver on this promise thus far.

Pretty sure there is going to be PvE content. You must not have installed the latest patch or something.

Final Rest - Current Theories

Diviner.7405

Honestly my final thoughts regarding final rest is that it’s probably from somewhere in Orr.

AS such I reckon we should start to list area’s in orr that no one ever visits, and see if there are any dynamic event chains around there.

For example in the cursed shore you have
1. the labyrinth, which has the groundskeeper that I have never seen killed ever
2. The entire area behind jofasts camp which seems to have no purpose

In the straits of devastation you have the entire ocean. Has anyone hung around the abbadon temple and/or done any dynamic event near there?

Malchors, again, events no one does, places people dont go, ignore the temples, search the oceans, the cliffs, go where men have never gone before!

The problem is even the non-group events in Orr can’t be done without a group! I went to do an event in Malchor’s Leap just the other day, wasn’t a group event so I though I could solo it. When I got there, and I am not exaggerating, it was so bad I doubt less than 15 people could have possibly done it. And that seems to be the norm throughout all three Orr areas, but at least cursed shore has plenty of people, the other two areas are going to remain unexplored until their scaling is fixed.

Most of the events in Orr can be done alone. Even Group Events can be soloed. I have soloed Grenth (until the 6min defense) and have soloed the entire Dwayna chain. Zho’Qafa Catacombs is also soloable as well as many other champion mobs.

Your problem probably lies with your build or your dodging skills. Mapping out events and how to do them solo is really fun.

Alright, Ill humor you all. Has anyone ever had all the temples opened at the same time? Does anything happen if this is done? Maybe a secret area opens? Artisan Waters perhaps?

So has any server actually seen all 5 of the temples open at 1 time? Does anything special happen?

I been wondering this for some time now, and was pondering the idea of having them all opened and a special area open up.

Which area you might wonder? Artisan Waters. If you do down there in open world you will see the door locked. Maybe, if you open all 5 temples, it will open some how?

Idk, me musing more than anything.

Magnificent Chest is higher then Glorious Chest which means Magnificent Chest should be considered the large chest while Glorious chest isn’t.

Magnificent Chests are smaller than Glorious Chests are they not.

No they are larger and rarer then the Glorious Chest.

The Glorious Chest is what spawns after the temple events in Orr, and I’m pretty sure it was a Glorious Chest at the end of The Lost Shores event. I can’t imagine the Magnificent Chest at the end of The Mad King’s Clocktower was indeed bigger.

I also have to say that it would be impossible for them to share the same loot tables if the chest at the end of The Lost Shores event was in fact a Glorious Chest.

Edit: I would also like to add that following the links you provided, shows that Magnificent Chests spawn at the end of jumping puzzles and not after boss encounters.

Not entirely true if you look at where it does spawn.
Fractals of the Mists
*
Volcanic Fractal – If all Captives are saved

It also is the chest that they use for special events. Volcanic Fractal is a boss fight.

Caledon Forest
*
Sandycove Beach – End of Spekks’s Laboratory

Is also a fight before you are able to get to the chest.

You got to read the wiki a little before you say things lol.

Spekk’s Laboratory is a jumping puzzle. I do believe the chest is already spawned upon entrance, you just need to finish the fight to access the chest.

You have one valid point and that’s the Volcanic Fractal and that is just one exception to the rule which came to exist after Final Rest was confirmed to be in the game which excludes it from being the location the developers hinted at.

Either way we’re not looking for Magnificent Chest.

Not all bosses and encounters chests have been documented so you cant rule it out either.

And how do you know this?

That would ruin the mystery. It not that they dont care.

They do care. If they didnt care they would just tell you where it is. They care about the world they crafted and they want you to explore its mysteries.

All I can say about reading both those statements the the obvious answer is most likely the right one.

A open world boss, drops a chest after it is defeated, which as a rare loot option may contain this item.

It satisfies both devs statements logically, and is probably the right answer.

Considering they said large chest, that could just be the reference to the appearence of the chest and not its actual ingame name.

Its also possible not all world bosses have been discovered. We know certain events are triggered, for example by kneeling infront of a statue, it is possible one of these areas hasnt been discovered yet by anyone and its a bit more tricky than we think.

If they cared, they would have come out and said that the way it is obtained is working 100% without bugs. Until then, it is safe to assume they do not care.

It really is not worth the time to go out of the way and spends hours looking for it. If it is indeed bugged, you will end up just wasting your time. It is best to have it come out on its own time.

There are plenty of other conspiracies in other games. 17th Colossus in Shadow of Colossus, obtaining Mew legit in Red/Blue, the pendent use in Dark Souls etc. etc.

Guess what? A majority of the time these conspiracies turn out be completely false even when devs have a made post stating otherwise.

In the end, secrets just end up hurting the fanbase more than anything. They really are not worth the trouble.

You know the only way to really suss this out is to have a large group of people systematically work through all the events one map at a time right? And hope your sample size is large enough for someone to get it if it’s available. It might take a few passes through the map but that’s the way to find it.

No, the only way to “really suss this out” is have the devs come out and explain exactly how it is obtained and to make sure the method of obtaining it is actually working properly.

But as the Devs have proven time and time again., they really do not care.

Stop w/ this Final Rest theories!. The game is almost 6 months now if it in the game it would be found long time ago.

It has been confirmed to be in the game, so your argument is null and void.

Have a good day.

Just because something has been “confirmed to be in the game” does not mean that it is OBTAINABLE in game. For example, in the original Pokemon Red/Blue, Mew was in the game, but the only way to obtain it was via glitch. There was no legitimate to obtain one even though it was in the game.

The very same could be happening in this game. It could be in the loot tables, but that does not mean a thing. The Devs have not confirmed that the loot tables are working as intended or that the boss/chest actually drops the correct loot table. For all we know, the loot tables may be correct, but something other bug maybe messing with the game. The game is a very buggy game after all.

Ill give an example: Suppose the item is supposed to drop in Chest A via the loot tables. However, there is a bug in the game due to bad programming that makes Chest A actually drop Chest B loot. When a Dev goes to check the loot tables, they will see everything is working in the proper order, yet what they will not realize is that Chest A is not actually dropping the correct loot. Just because its in the loot tables does not mean everything else is functioning as it should.

Magic find leach must go.

Actually, I think it should stay, and just be extended to the entire party.

So a player running 100% MF would boost the entire party’s MF by 100%. That means everybody gets benefits from their gear (just as they would if they’d put those points into damage or healing instead) and they’re not leeching, they’re actually contributing in a significant way.

Quick and easy fix to an otherwise messy issue.

Do it D3 style.

Diviner.7405

I really do not want to go through the math or show everyone the numbers but even on a very modest scale it would have dropped by now.

My theory is that it is still in the loot tables, but the actual chest that drops it is bugged.

For example, the chest in the Zho’Qafa Catacombs could very well be the chest that is supposed to drop this item. However, if the loot table was switched with another chest, it would never drop the item, and thus the item will never be seen in-game.

When a dev looks at the loot table and sees the item listed and it has an actual % greater than 0, does not mean that everything else is working as it should. If the loot table is indeed the wrong one for the actual chest, the devs might not realize this and will tell the public everything is working as intended. This is not the first time this has happened.

Noticed this too.
Before the patch, I beat her three times.
When she got past 50%, she would always stay around for a specific amount of time, no matter how low you got her.

After the patch, this has been changed.
When I tried, we got her to 10% from 60% after she stayed around for about 60sec. We got the sparks into place and she came out about 35-40%. She literally stayed around for 20 seconds before disappear at about 20%. We got the sparks into place and she came out at about 45-50%. She stayed for like 5seconds and then disappeared at 40%.

I have never seen this happen before. It seems once she goes past 50%, the amount of time she sticks around decreases significantly every time she comes around.

Congratulations ANet, you made a DPS check even worse.

We should get laurels for leveling past 80

Both of your solutions make it way to easy to get a precursor. So no, I do not believe either of them are the answer.

Honestly, if they were going to change it (I do not think they should), it would be an implementation that is not in the game already.
