I see that you’ve decided to make your own thread to cry about after complaining on this thread.
Again, Druid may of not been what you’ve wanted it to be, but that doesn’t mean that everyone shares your opinion of scrapping the entire Elite Specialization. Wanting an entire Specialization to be removed on the sole reason of not liking it is pretty childish in the first place, lol.
No condi druid is not good and no I did not play it wrong. When anet made the druid they killed everything that was good about the ranger and replaced it with what is a glorified monk.
The condi druid can not do anywhere neer what my ranger could with condiis, when you have 10K burns ppoing off and 7K bleeds then there is an issue when it is suppose tto be better to take the specialization and your damage goes in the mystic toilet.
I worlded on this a lot and spent way to much gold on it and I can tell you this DRUID is the worst creation in any game I have ever played. They would be better off deleting it and starting over and making something that complimented the ranger and what he ranger was able to do.
They could have given the ranger double daggers and made it more mobile, they could have given it a rifle and made it a stealth hunter, they could have given it shield and made it more tanky,
the skills could have effected the pets more or had different type traps like the DH got aso you can do both dps and condi, and you skil could have hade the glyph in there to help with the dps they made a bad build with the druild and it is that simple.
With a warhorn a hound and healing spring the ranger has crazy aoe heals where it dose not have to me tethered to anyone to make it good or be in the perfect position and they can still do high damage out put.
so you see druid really dose suck and once ppl stop using them anet will make the changes that they should have made in the first place.
Can confirm now, that either this person is trolling, or cry so much to the point that he will disregard Druid for what it is since it wasn’t the Elite Specialization that he wanted it to be, despite how much a Druid can actually bring to a group.
It really isn’t much of a DPS loss to take Druid over Beast Mastery in the first place. I’ve managed 13.7k burns with 6k bleeds, and why is that? Because of the 15% direct/condi damage through Grace of the Land. You sacrifice a portion of your DPS, that is tied to the pet, to boost your group’s DPS to benefit even more than what you could output yourself. The pet is supposed to be 30% of your DPS, but in reality it isn’t near that number sadly, so saying that it isn’t worth taking is just you crying.

ok here it is you love the druid for its group support the only thing the ranger dose not have it the glyph who cares, it is a mear 10% so a extra 100 on 1000 damge o boy.
the fact that they went and made the ranger into the new version of the monk and killed the class that could have been so much more is the issue I have with druid. the fact that because they did not focus on the ranger skills like every other class except guardian is an issue. But you guys just do not see that, since guardian has traps now trapper rangers do not exisit any more they are guardians, and healing druids are boring as hell to play drop this drop that hit this not wait heal heal heal heal heal drop drop drop, druid is a bore a snooze fest. and even the condi druid is poor and sucks as I have tried it.
the over all rating for druid -500,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 to the power of infinity.
take druid out make the rangers normal rangers again and let someone else do the healing crap like the guardian should have been in the first place.
I didn’t enjoy Druid at first, since it was nothing but a heal bot, but the amount of support they give to a group is what gives the opportunity to classified as meta among the game types. Damage wise, they ahve the ability to boost a groups DPS by 25-40%, so in long termed fights such as raids, this is where this amount of consistent buffing is better regarded; Vale Guardian has 22 million health for example, so over the course of the fight, a group could do a total that amount of damage with druid buffing the group to do rougly an addtional 3,300,000-6,300,000 of the total health of vale guardian. In short lived encounters, the buffs don’t play as such a large role; although, in cases with these giant damage sponges, the consistent buffing done takes out a large potion of the total health.
To be honest as well, if we weren’t given a heal bot, I would not imagine wahtever elite spec they would make instead being desirable in any situation besides ‘I want to play the class I want to play’. Since we were forced into the healer role, with the group buffs given through it, we hav a place among game modes since we are actually valued as an asset to the group.
+1 for Direwolf, always liked Garm in comparison to regular wolves. With how functional HoT pets (minus wyverns), would be happy to see a revamped Canine
One can dream v-v
Idk, quickdrawing ancestral grace is pretty sick heals, especially if you put down a healing spring, which also gives permanent regen(75% astral force regened by the time the cd comes off). CA cd is the only thing that can gate druid heals, and you can just slot glyphs out the kitten and spam them for burst heals and gotl buffs while waiting on CA.
Quick Draw is very nice to make up for our lack of sustain healing, so it makes Druids more of a burst healer in comparison to Ele that has easier access to their heals than us. I do love healing spring, charges astral energy quick, while giving everyone usually 300-400 regen ticks, depending on how much outgoing healing I have on at the moment.
Actually it is around 25% boost to sustained group damage. Here is some calculations I just made:
Glyph of Empowerment + Verdant Etching:
(6s/16s) x 10 % + (8s/16s) x 3% = 5.25%Spotter:
7% x (100 – crit damage) = 7% (with 200% crit)Grace of the Land:
(8s/10s) x (5 × 3%) =12%Frost Spirit:
0.75 × 10% = 7.5%Total:
5.25 + 7 + 12 + 7.5 = 31.75%This would be with a perfect rotation and you need to have full astral force every 10 seconds. Also if you have condition builds in party they don’t really benefit from spotter that much. So realistically you would get something around 25% boost. Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong, not really good with numbers.
This is true, but I said 40% as at total since that is the max amount we could achieve in a moment if rng was on your side. I should of been more clear on the min and max amount we could provide.
And I can’t really see the benefit of using Sun Spirit. With condi spec the procs hit about 3000 dmg and has a icd of 8 seconds, so that is 3000/8s = 375 dps for a condibuild. Power builds benefit even less. Is Sun Spirit really this crappy or am’I missing something?
Sun Spirit is better for sustain DPS since most condi classes either capitalize or have some access to burning, so the extra burning procs would increase the damage they are doing through burning due to the damage formula receiving more burning stacks. Even if the other people benefiting from Sun Spirit buff are Power builds instead of condi, they are receiving more sustain DPS through the extra damage they are applying due to how long the encounters are for raids. For short lived encounters like dungeons and fractals, that would be debatable if it were a bonus to a group or not, again it depends on how long the encounter is that would determine the total damage it could add to the group.
And again I say this DRUID SUCKS the only good thing is the speed buff, everything else you could have gotten with a ranger including the healing. Healing spring is a fantastic skill and crated a water field for mass healing. plus if you took the healing runes and all those goodies you would be doing just as much healing as the druid minus the auto attack crap which is just stupid.
Anet did this wrong. Not saying that the druid is not like the shamen speaking to nature of course that is what they did but rangers are trappers it is what the excelled in and all classes except DH and druid focused on what they were good at in some form or the other.
Play a druid for the speed buff alone and nothing else the rest is crap
Jeez you are speaking so much out off your kitten , lol. Druid is able to buff group damage by a total of 40% damage through their group support: Glyph of Empowerment 10% damage bonus; Grace of the Land 15% damage boost to both direct and condi damage; Frost Spirit 10% damage boost; Spotter 150 group precision; and Sun Spirit to help increase sustained DPS for both direct and condi classes with the additional burning damage. Just because you aren’t satified with Druid as an elite spec doesn’t mean you should be going around saying it is worthless when it is the best group support class in the game at the moment.
Ele is an easier class to heal due to their healing not being gated mainly behind astral energy, but the amount of group support that Druid brings is waht also gives it an edge over ele for their sustained healing.

Would prefer having full access to all the skills of the pet, rather than selecting a single one from its skill list, then havingto leave the rest of the skills up to AI when to decide to use it. But of course, that would be too confusing for new players would it -looks at ele attunements and engi tool belt-
I’ve always believed that the cleanse portion was bugged to not cleanse over a certain duration of movement impairment condi on you, could of had like 20 seconds of cripple or chill on me and it wouldn’t cleanse the full duration. Having to make sure the vines are hitting you to receive this effect, I don’t like this design
Ranger got something good, time to complain about it
Does the reduction in damage also apply towarsd you, as well with allies?
Vine Surge could be better, yes, but first I want the bug for it fixed. Says that it cleanses movement impairment conditions, but it only cleanses a portion if you have a large duration on you.
Tragic and Serraphim argueing about axe auto damage being better than longbow again

Coming to cry about this on the Ranger forum isn’t gonna get you any support, lol. Thread created by a necro complaining about damage from bristleback when he himself said he was using zerker, of course it’s gonna do alot of damage, same as any other source when you’re running glass
Than i guess your dmg output must be insane too,i had 20might stack +/- and couldnt kill it in RS,heck i didnt even get past 70-80% of its hp,thanks to druid droping heals on point where the pet was “guess he just swaped”.Pet chewed my RS than my hp,and i had to run for cover.
So you wouldnt mind if for example a turret engie, would drop a rocket turret “which he could heal and buff” and this would be dealing 10-20k rockets to you?Or a minionmancer with golem hiting u for 10-20k on 12s CD again healable? Its just ridiculous, aint that hard to admit.Legendary or not, look at simple facts.Dmg output from a pets special…. .
And I am in agreement that the damage should be toned down, but the proposed changes in this thread is what I can not agree with. Bristleback is the only real source of burst Ranger has, so nerfing it to an extreme is what I am trying to not let happen.
Druid is op too. Before the patch no mesmer build could kill a druid bunker.
now its even weaker.
Shatter Mesmer actually had a chance against Druids, but Mesmer isn’t really the ideal person to kill a Druid. Druids excel in 1v1ing and that is it really. They are weak to conditions and being focused down, so team fights weren’t the best spot for them.
That is the main reason why mesmers were nerfed, because they had few weaknesses compared to Druid.
Doogy,u might try it,and than talk about it.
I have, I’ve queued from Amber to Legendary. Each fight that I fought another Druid, I would make sure to cleave out the bristleback to force the longer pet swap cooldown and reduce the overall damage from the other Druid, since the only real source of damage is coming from the pet itself.
Nobody is against an effective pet, but these pets are too strong. Scale down the damage and increase utility. Let smoke have an F2 that destroys projectiles like swirling winds. Have bristle shoot out crippling spikes as a pbaoe. Then decrease the F1 damage.
Smokescale already has good utility, the smokefield for stealth. When Anet decided to swap the F2 for Smokescale, Rangers fought for the skills to be swapped back because we valued the original F2 over the Smoke Assault. The F2 for bristleback is fine as it is, doesn’t need to changed to something as useless as aoe cripple when the design of the pet is meant to be a glass cannon. As I said above, the F2 should be bug fixed, thus reducing the F2 damage by 25%.
I was trying few matches i met these bunker druid abomination to kill it,on my zerker necro,i couldnt get past 70% hp of it.Not that a druid cant swap pet or heal it,buff it.So the poor argument of “squishie” pet is again just a myth.
You weren’t able to kill a bristleback in PvP with zerker necro. Wow, I am absolutely astonished. Bristlebacks only have 16k Hp. If you couldn’t kill it with zerker, you either weren’t acrtually cleaving it out, or you’re actually just bad.
It is easy to avoid the F2 skill, it feels like it misses 80% of the time unless you catch the enemy off guard. But maybe that only in diamond+?
It is easy to dodge, since Bristleback is only ranged, any obstacle between you and the Bristleback will cause it to be obstructed. But why should I have to worry about he pet in the first place? Nerf it!
/sarcasm
Love how once pets become an actual threat, people start demanding nerfs, when the perks of being a Ranger is having the +1 advantage through their pet; people are just too used to seeing the pet as no threat at all.
BBack f2: duration is half’d-> dmg is half + does not require 2 evades to negate
SScale Smoke assault: hope they handle this like Unrelenting Assault
I do agree that the damage for the Bristleback’s F2 needs to be reduced, not because of its raw damage, but because the F2 is bugged to hit 20 times instead of its intended 15 times. If Anet actually did some bug fixes for Ranger, the F2 would have its damage reduced by 25%. Reducing it by 50% would be too excessive due to how squishy the pet is, since that is what Ranger’s have been asking for, a glass cannon ranged pet. Main reason why it does so much damage in the amount of time it does is because when the Ranger swaps their pet (while traited for Beast Mastery) it applies quickness and might to you and your pet, so Rangers will copy their boons with We Heal As One to maximize the damage it will do in that instant.
SScale Smoke assault: hope they handle this like Unrelenting Assault
They have already looked at this, a while ago. The number of hits it does was also reduced from 7 to 5 total hits, as well as nerfing the overall damage by 70% from its original form. Other than the Smoke Assault, the Smokescale has the same stats as bears, so they do very little damage outside of the Smoke Assault when it has no might.
BBack’s projectiles are homing missles this mean you can’t range sidestep them, not to mention they hit 1k dmg on marauder specs.
SScale knockdown animation is too fast && is unblockable if i remember correct.
So, your saying that all projectile attacks shouldn’t home when casted onto a target? Better nerf it to all classes then; warrior rifle/longbow, engi pistol/rifle, thief shortbow/pistol, etc. I’m sorry, but that is the point of it being a ranged pet, attack from ranged.
The knockdown animation is the same as to any canine pet, so no reason to increase the animation speed since you’re not paying attention to the pet, because you’re not used to pets being an actual threat. The knockdown is unblockable, but that is another plus to the pet that Anet made to it.
Before HoT pets were introduced, people always ignored pets since the only purpose they served before was CC and utility. Bristleback and Smokescale are actually functional compared to their core counterparts, which is why they pose a threat. If anything, core pets should be brought up to par with HoT pets because that is what they are meant to originally supposed to do, give the Ranger an edge with their proffesion mechanic by maintaining a prescence in two places at once.
Are these confirmed?
Search and Rescue – Give ally in the area in the regeneration but if there is an ally down in the area (1200 range), the pet will teleport the downed person to you and then revive them.
Protect Me – Break stun on nearby allies, giving you protection and cause the next foe that attack you to be taunted by your pet.
Think/Changes I don’t like:
lack of new armor sets being replaced for outfits
Let’s just forget that Water Spirit exists
were are the other new legendary's??

Kinda scared that, since they confirmed that they are working on another expansion, that is when they will be released….
With the upcoming balance changes coming on the 26th, these are my predictions for the nerfs inbound to Ranger
*Bristleback will have it’s F2 damage reduced by 25%, mainly due to its F2 hitting 20 times, instead of 15 times like it says on the skill tooltip.
*Daze duration reduced on Glyph of Equality from 2 to 1second – 1 1/2seconds
*Daze duration reduced on Lunar Impact from 2 to 1 seconds, due to the daze duration with Moment of Clarity almost have the daze duration match the 5 second cooldown for the skill
Aye, it is annoying, especially since I use condi Ranger for Champion tiered daily fractals
i’ve heard that the heal tempest is the new healer in raids and the druid is not needed anymore…
I’ve also heard you preach this over and over here on the forums, lol
“As long as you don’t yearn for hope… You’ll never fall victim to despair…”
I would say Norn, but that opinion is mainly from my personal preference for the race. Female Norn over the Male, since the sword auto attack for Norn Male Ranger is god awful
I think burn guard has a fair chance at killing em.
Not really to be honest. Not enough conditions burn guard can apply to cover up their burning when the druid condi clears.
Your best odds are being a Reaper, or a very skilled mallyx rev since we don’t deal with conditions. Druids excel in 1v1s, best thing they have going for them. As Mightbird said, we don’t do well in team fights since we are easily focused down.
Edit: I ran into a wolf in a match today and only noticed it because I visually saw it. I’m not sure it ever did anything at all to me. Still <3 wolves though.
I miss my wolf Fenrir v_v
I would give my predictions on future nerfs, but I don’t want to give them any ideas…
Druid was the wrong choice for ranger. Guardian should get priest like soec and rangers should get either berserker-ish or dragon hunter like spec. I do not recall any ranger player saying " oh kitten wish I was a healer". But I know many guardians still desire for a better healer-support build.
I’ve come to accept Druid because of all its group support it brings through healing and buffing, but still gotta agree. Shame they scrapped whatever idea they had before for Druid to a heal bot since whatever they were making probably wouldn’t be desirable at all among the community :/
Was interested in what these were gonna be
(edited by DoogySnowStalker.2069)
Aye, it is annoying, but this has been around for a long time
I love it when we all get along
i agree. PLEASE ANEY MAKE THE OTHER PETS AS THE SMOKESCALE AND THE BRISTLEBACK
Screw derailing, this deserves the attention.
Agreed, I miss my wolf. Only time I could see actually using a wolf effectively would be if they added a direwolf, similar to Garm, if they introduced a Northern Shiverpeaks expansion. Mainly since they actually are trying to make new pets good, lol.
My guess is that they only made the Hammer, Axe and Mace for the trailers they appeared in, and the rest aren’t ready yet.
Would be cool if there was a full weapon set, but wouldn’t be surprised if they sold them off as individual skins such as Marjory’s Dagger and Kasmeer’s Staff
So far my guess would be that no one has figured out the mystic forge recipe yet, or worse case scenario, Anet will release them through the gemstore…

Hoping for a longbow I would actually like. Don’t like Kudzu since it makes me feel like I have to play a Sylvari :/
pet op, pls nerf Riot
nerf all other proffesions as well
Warrior: make adrenaline deplete into the negatives
teef: make weapon skills usage of initiative consume more since they can spam skills
Guardian: increase virtue cooldown by 200%
Rev: increase energy cost
Necro: make deathshroud deplete out of combat
Ele: increase attunement swaps to match overloading cooldowns
Mesmer: reduce phantasms to 2 max
Engineer: apply cooldowns to kit swaps
(edited by DoogySnowStalker.2069)
No, it will not be fixed.
EEEESPPUUURTZ guys, come on! Take GW2 PvP seriously without ArenaNet actually fixing problems.
You say that, but Rangers have been subject to alot of hot fixes since HoT….
Now this I can actually agree with that this deserves a hot fix
Druid = God tier in right hands, who is saying else is lost some were…
They are a good 1v1 class, but don’t excel in each area. Due to the lack of stability, pretty easy to CC down, so not too great in team fights. Lack of consistent condi removal, so pertty much hard countered by anything condi, so if your team has a Reaper, they should be able to focus them down pretty well.
