Same issue, hope this gets fixed
All my guildies and I are experiencing this same issue. Been minining it for about 2 weeks and still nothing but greenwood and copper ore
Nevermind, found the sweet spot, had to fall downwards a bit
Based on the item hint for Flight Lessons: Out of the Tree, you are supposed to glide towards a mushroom ledge across from you. Despite gliding towards each mushroom I could manage to get to (have gliding maxed, so referring to mushrooms impossible to reach) and still unable to get the item to drop for the collection achievement. Is anyone able to help me by pointing it out through a picture or show me in-game?
Are there any items out there that can drain some health? If that’s the case, they sure will be sought after now…
Only if this was a thing for GW2…
inb4 this post is moved to the Ranger forum where it will never see the light of day
Can we please get a respone for the reason behind the change for astral energy? Limiting us to energy gain when allies are not full health is a huge nerf. Before, building astral energy felt very fluent and amazing, since it gave us a reason to actually use our excessive amount of regen that we have access to. This change helped core Ranger synergize with Druid very well, but now it is a pain to maintain energy effeciently due to the new restrictions.
Any update on Protector of All?
Based on the title, I assumed it was gonna be another QQ post, but for once it is someone asking for actual help in a way to learn and counter this in the future rather than cry nerf…. i am confus
Used Viper’s armor with Sinister trinkets and weapons, got to 12k bleed ticks on Mossmang
Would be cool if once pets reach level 80 to match your level, they would also grow out of their juvenile state, since they also receive an additional 150 stats when they reach this point.
Machined weapon collection noxious pod item

I can’t confirm this since it has only happened to me so far as I know of, but if you loot the Dragon Stand Meta Event chest while having a current Machine weapon unlocked, it will always seem to drop the RNG item you need for the collection. This dropped both times after I looted this chest while I was on two seperate characters, both going for a seperate collection achievememt.
The pet is one of the biggest liability’s to our class, although I would like to see a Beast Mastery 2.0. Always felt envious that Hunter’s in WoW could go Beastmaster. If I could, would have the specialization have 1 rather 2 pets (obviously some adjustments to how some traits work involving Pet F2), focusing more on the idea of training this specific pet to be a monster amongst other pets; have the pet be noticably larger (perma SoTW effect) so you would be able to identify that the pet is a threat; and guess have something similar to the adrenaline system where the amount of ‘adrenaline’ you would gain would pay off when you spent it by empowering you, your pet, and your allies. I can dream though v_v
The stats displayed on the Ebony Orbs are displayed as Crusader, but the end result of discovering this craft yields Marauder stats instead. Crafted a full set with with Agate Orbs, which display as Marauder stats, and the crafts come out as Crusader instead.
Has anyone possibly seen an ascended recipe of the new stats introduced with HoT for jewelry? You are able to obtain these stats either through craft or converting with weapons and armor, but what about the trinkets?
I was hoping for Elite Specialization Titles with HoT, sadly none
You can either craft the piece you need with its respective crafting profession (Oiled Staff Head – Artificing, Oiled Longbow Shaft – Hunstman) or buy the part off of the TP.
Kinda hoping for them to introduce Crusader’s as well into PvE, so I could mix it with Zealot’s to find a good balance betwen the two. Don’t mind mixing in Cleric’s and Berserker’s but would imagine I would prefer this way more. Only question is how would be obtain them.
Edit: Nevermind, didn’t realize that you could get the recipe off of regular NPC’s.

This was in PvE land, but still managed to see the numbers and I regret that I did not take a screen cap when I saw a glorious 52k Smoke Assault. I was on the edge of tears seeing that amount of damage from a pet.
An ambient caught by the aoe?
That said, such numbers remind me of pre-nerf norn bear form in the pre-nerf crit damage days. Good fun was had…
It was Arch Diviner on Fractal 24 for the Daily, and was testing before as well to see how high I could get the numbers up to. Signet of the Wild – 25%, Sic ’Em – 40%, Grace of the Land – 15%, Glyph of Empowerment – 10%, Frost Spirit – 10%, Max Vulnerbility – 25%, with 25 stacks of might for a total of a 125% damage increase with however much 25 stacks of might affects that. Again, I regret not taking a screen cap of it.
If I get Ancient Seeds nerfed with a troll post I’m gonna feel pretty guilty.
It would prove a point at least.
I wondered why I saw your comment supporting the trait as well as wishing for a nerf as well on the PvP forums. At least we all know who to blame if this nerf does get inspired from another complaint on the forums….

Or, hold out on this one, or allow us to use all of our pet’s skills! Everybody wins!
They could do a minor change by increasing the attack range of the auto attacks for the melee pets to make them at least somewhat more reliabe… This video demonstrates how much they could be improved if they matched the auto attack range from 130 to 250 with the Polymorph’s auto attack. Although, the wyvern still won’t benefit as much due to its unneccesary long cast time for their auto attacks.
I honestly don’t understand why we don’t just have another keybind to access our second reliable pet skill. The respone from Anet was ‘Because it would be to difficult for new players’, although I find that a very poor answer. Anyone who chooses a pet class will most likely expect to utilise the pet as an extenstion of youself so you be two places at once, not a CC and utility bot hindered by a poor pet AI (always sad to see a Ranger just use it for the F2 and nothing else). If anything, I would say Engineer and Elementalist to be more confusing to new players with the kits and the attunement swapping, maybe even Revenant as well.
Haven’t made up my mind if I want to do those achievements for the Marauder trinkets since I plan to do a mix between Zealots, Berserker, and Clerics. Was worrying if I would not have enough sustain for Raiding, but this will more than likely cover that aspect
After experiencing the horror of that Fractal and Instability combo, came back to it the next day with everything I could get together that was either tanky or had healing power. Waited at the side you start on for them to kill the other vet, and ended up having to tank for a couple minutes, so all the mobs I had agroed on me wouldn’t heal the seal while everyone else worked on a seal; thankyou for Druid’s sustainability, lol. It will be a sad day when the fractal Daily asks for level 59 v_v
Astral energy for Celestial Form is depleting for whatever reason, making it difficult to access and maintain Celestial Form, please look into this issue
Gail why do the devs dislike ranger? Is there a way we can get a dev to have more interaction with the community so that we can get this class fixed?
Kitty — you can’t believe that! If there’s a dev who provably “hates” Rangers, I’ll hunt him down and TP his desk! I’ll put Honey Nut Cheerios in his burrito! I’ll wreak havoc every way from Sunday!
I have talked to Irenio a lot, and I’ll continue to talk to him. And I’ll talk to, wave my hands in the air, and natter with any other dev who wants to get the feedback of a not-very-good-but-absolutely-passionate Ranger.
I’m sorry to dredge this up like this, but I can’t help but comment on it. I want to believe this. The problem is that the Druid, in its HoT launch state, is a crushing disappointment. I have yet to be able to use the Celestial Avatar Form even twice during a single PvP match. Not only is the Druid’s performance far below its BWE3 level (which was already far below such heavy hitters as the Reaper, Chronomancer, and Herald), our best new pet is being gutted. Not nerfed, gutted. 50% damage reduction is bad, too heavy handed in fact, but I can see the point. Removing our control of its smoke field is appalling. That is already one of the major issues with the ranger: we have little control over our own fields, finishers, and cc. All of this came without a discussion, and without an explanation. Not to sound like a broken record, but Roy keeps his Revenant players appraised of changes to the profession, and has ensured that the profession itself is strong (overpowered, if we’re being frank). Meanwhile, the Druid’s entire mechanic has become all but useless in 95% of the game, and is both nearly inaccessible and underperforming (due to the lack of stability which was brought up repeatedly over Beta Weekend) in sPvP.
Basically, we really, really need an explanation and a constructive discussion about how to salvage this train wreck.
Aye, +1, eager to hear at least some type of reply rather than being left in the dark as usual…
If their answer was that so the skill was more reliable, would have to say it is about the same to be honest. The pet AI would choose whichever skill had the longest range to engage, so the Smokescale would always open with Smoke Assault because of the port function. Was astonished how reliable the pet was due to its burst and its utility at the same time. The change to the damage on Smoke Assault is understable, although the reasoning behind swapping the two skills I don’t…. and I guess I will continue to not know due to Anet’s amazing track record so far.
- Water Spirit/Aqua Surge & Spirit of Nature need testing
Haven’t test Water Spirit, although I can say Spirit of Nature doesn’t charge the energy. Found it awesome when they said they were basing the heal per tic based off of our healing power, but sadly it doesn’t do it at all. Set it up in heavily populated areas during events in the new maps as well in the Labyrinth. Would sit there, doing nothing, healing people for up to 423 per tick, still now energy gain sadly :/
Daredevil rune for GS, neeeeeat.
Daredevil runes, Cav or Valk armor, energy/int sigil on 2 greatswords, quickdraw, and just roll around crit mauling everything in sight?
I’m going to have fun PvPing with this idea in mind later…
- no one uses sword. You know why.
Would have to say that is a very broad statement. Yes, the sword has its flaws, but that doesn’t mean that all Rangers don’t use it. Been using sword for 2 years, and that is because I actually like the rooting on the sword since I am weird like that, only thing that I would want as a change is a faster cast time on Hornet Sting at this point due to its excessively long cast time for an evade skill…
I just want something nice for once, please don’t take it away v_v
Any possibility of increasing the auto attack range and possibly adding cleave to more pets outside of the drake family? In this video you can see that the Polymorph Elite Skill from Mesmer drastically increases the performance of the pet. In the tool tip, pet’s auto attacks have an attack range of 130 while the auto attack on the auto attack for the moa form has an attack range of 250 while also cleaving as it says on the wiki page. As it is, pets have difficulty tracking moving targets, and this would help fix that issue for Ranger in PvP and WvW since pets are mainly used for utility and CC in these areas.
I see people keep asking for this but can you imagine an enemy ranger’s pet on you that never fails to hit unless you dodge or use a movement skill? The attrition would be horrible. Definitely something to go into beastmastery line and not just baseline.
That is true, but our pet is meant to be an extension of ourselves, allowing us to maintain a presence in two places at once. Although, as it is currently for pets, we can only rely on them for utility and CC. Maybe not increase it to the same amount as 250, but somewhere in between so the pet can get some attacks in while the enemy is trying to kite the pet, at least that way the pet isn’t always on the enemy.

Sword is too hard in high level fractals. So far I’ve only met 1 ranger over the past 2 yrs that has been able to sword AA 50 fractals effectively.
I wouldn’t say it is too difficult for everything, just some encounters. I honestly like the sword auto for the leaping so I can just stay glued to targets, been using sword/x for the majority of my time up to this point for all tiers of fractals since I’m one of the few people who actually like the sword auto, lol.
I personally just longbow until he does his AoE phase, so just switch to Sword/Axe and go ham until I have to pull off. The amount of damage he deals is very risky for melee unless you have some form of damage midigation, so you can slot in Signet of the Stone for the invul so you can continue meleeing without having to worry about dying for a bit. Greatsword paired with Sword/X is nice because of all the evades, so you can use that as well as another way to continue meleeing. Although, ranging at some encounters I would say is fine due to how difficult it can prove at these encounters.
I am curious if regen acts as a healing proc for Grace of the Land
http://dulfy.net/2015/10/14/gw2-druid-post-bwe3-changes/
Some knowledge at least, loving the change to Grace of the Land
Hope they do remove the might cap on WHaO at least, maintaining might on the pet without Fortifying Bond is a pain. Was having a blast in PvE when I was watching my pet crit 4-6k constantly because of the might uptime achieved through WHaO.
Your wish has been granted! Predator’s Onslaught does that. But that’s not all! It’s even in a trait line with a trait that doubles Daze durations! Such synergy!
Just wishing for another damage modifier since we lack them v_v, even though it falls under the same category, lol
Personally would like a trait that increased damage towards dazed enemies, so the specialization could be labeled more as offensive as well.
So far, been using this recently after experimenting with different runes, accessories, and such; taken a strong liking to it. Heavy CC oriented, with pretty good survivalbility, team support with celestial form, and damage spikes with Opening Strike and Attack of Opportunity procs. Mainly use staff for the astral force gain, also good with mobility and added team support. Although damage for staff is pretty eh, so hoping they change how astral force is gained. Dazes are amazing for 1v1s and team fighting with their long durations and spammability, keeps the enemy locked down; especially if an enemy is down, able to keep everyone CCed from attempting to rez a down body, gathering them for that down body cleave. Can run Lightning Reflex instead of Signet of Stone for more stun breaks and condi cleanses. Burst heal, condi cleanse, and a 6 second daze on the in celestial form \._./. Since no BeastMastery, wolf for the extra CC and just said whatever the Jaguar for the surprise factor; although, Krytan hound would seem to be a better choice for the extra immob.

I’ve only noticed that birds like to dance too much instead of attacking, since they love to spam their swiftness skills off cooldown… But yes, due to their wing span, you can expect clipping with themselves and terrain.
(edited by DoogySnowStalker.2069)
Guys, don’t boycott the class. It’s what Anet wants, so they have a reason to delete the class since the no one is playing it
Heal bot lifestyle
I would buy those up in a heart beat if so
Probably gonna roll with this for my gear set-up
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vNAQNAsXBA-TRSBABlfEAya/hHeAAmpE8KlfnqJIV1fwTPAAnCAA-e
Only 669 Healing Power max with staff out, but with an additional 30% outgoing effectiveness from Monk Runes and Natural Mender. Cruelty sigil to make up for the loss of ferocity, bringing it up to a max of 896 ferocity. Gonna have to mess around with utilities, pets, and traits during the next BWE. Might have to rework the gear set-up depending on how difficult the raids are.
(edited by DoogySnowStalker.2069)
Strength of the Pack > Barrage > Rapid Fire > Quickening Zephyr > Heal As One > 25 might and 10-11seconds of quickness each \._./
That’s assuming that the boon duration is a 1:1 ratio instead of a set amount
