So you are a roaming small man group that likes fights. Why do you even care about some pugs taking/keeping a tower? Find a zerg and take it apart. if they run away from you , well I am not sure getting into the tower to just kill 3 pugs would be fun anyway.
What you want is to move to another server that is facing a server with a lot of small mans. Try anything vs NSP or IOJ.

I like white sword removal , but it will hurt the game for a lot of low pop servers. So maybe wait on that . Fix population issues first.

I like ppk, but it will hurt casual players in wvw, thus hurting long term health of the game. So test it in eotm first.

No, just that havoc isnt about flipping keeps. But more about starving supply from keeps and getting them ready for a big group to flip . Though on a lower tiers its actually much easier to flip keeps with 2-5 man havoc groups. I have taken bay solo a few times, but that was vs SBI, where no one scouts. So nvm. Back on topic, Siege disabler is not an issue for havoc. It seems to be an issue for small man groups trying to flip towers/keeps on low tier servers. Which is an issue. As someone that only uses them to prep cannons on a keep I wont care if they get a nerf. But your OCX/SEA will when enemy ktrain hits their 10/15 ppl trying to hold a keep.

The point is that they already have siege to counter you anyway. How a disable trap going to change anything if you are running a 5 man? If they have ppl inside they will kill your siege anyway. They will also call for help and bring a 25 man if they can. Its not about siege traps , its about ways to counter you. If they have defenders inside the tower with 2x your numbers you want them to sit there.

What you are thinking about is ninja, where you grab a tower before they can respond. Which will be countered by a scout anyway. Yes siege disable hurts ninja attempts a bit. Its harder to flip and pvd a keep now if at least one guard is there with disablers. But its not any different than them having acs pre-built, inner cannons manned, or trebs behind gate. Is it sometimes annoying when we pvd a tower? Sure, but its no reason to nerf it if its a hard counter. Just adapt and move on. I know this will go unheard, but we use guild golems lately. Very good if you kill cannons,oil and mortars on your first pass. What helps a lot is to hit a camp, get supply. Move to kill defensive siege. On your next round around the map get 2 guild golems ported to the gate and stagger 2 sup rams. You will still get wiped sometimes, but you can get in and kill some inner siege for the next attempt/drain supply.

Any frustration is worth it when you can see your own side’s mapque try to take enemy keepin off hours with 10 omegas and getting stopped by 10 ppl with disabler and cannons. Stupid play should not be catered to on any server, any guild.

So brainless rams on gate got a counter and you are not happy? I agree that its a l2p issue. I have not seen it affect havoc in any way. Yes ppl will counter you if scouted. That works fine. Any well sieged tower/keep will have a treb behind gate, so rams are useless anyway. Learn to split up and prep your targets. Is it boring sitting with a blob at a gate with 5 rams being xed? Sure. Dont be in that brainless blob.

Any guild planning to join us should wait a couple of weeks to see our pop after seasons. Also there is no YB recruitment policy. PPL can join if they want or leave if they want. We won’t pay for transfers. Don’t expect 1337 hardcr server either. We are mostly laid back and friendly. And we like it like that. So if you find yourself raging at pugs on your current server, stay put.

1. 3 time period zone split with scores being added up. However, all the structures and upgrades/siege stay through the scoring periods. So if a server has strong OCX/SEA they get a chance to upgrade their structures and paper enemy ones.

2. Structures taken from Leading server give bonus points.

3. If score difference is hight (more than 20% lead) add a handicap.

Where in T3 are you? EU server? NA T3 is having no issues with siege disables. With amounts of siege all 3 servers are using siege disables are not making much of an impact. Maybe they are affecting ktrains, but I stay away from the brainless things anyway. Anyone in a ktrain should just be booted to EOTM . So if these traps annoy them, ty anet!

For YB its always funny to see enemy servers fixated on DK. As much as he is an important commander in off hours, he is not really what ppl from other servers think he is for YB. He is more of a coordinator in a sense. And a siege guy. He always detags and lets other commanders do the driving. For YB ppl who make or break a matchup are our guards and scouts.

Siege disabler was a great addition to WvW. It has added to the strategies used to take and defend keeps and makes gameplay more then just a karmatrain. It allows smaller forces the time needed to get reinforcements to their location so as to defend an objective.

It gives more reasons to upgrade and hold keeps and towers and makes the same something better then just “speedbumps” enroute to those just wanting champions chests loaded up as quickly as possible.

The issue here is that of “instant gratification” as evidenced by those openly admitting they do not want to bother with the time needed to siege a tier 3 keep . Splitting ones forces and doing something other then run in the zerg makes battles much more interesting yet people arguing against disablers claim it forces one to split forces so as to be defeated in detail.

One might as well call for “instant healing walls” as it can be boring to run supply to repair them .Let us have “Instant upgrades” rather then put them on timers as it can be boring to ensure supply continues to flow to a keep. Really what is the point of supply keeps and towers if all people want to do is roll over the enemy with a zerg as the one and only facet of gameplay.?

Anything that breaks the zerg mentality is good for the game.

I have yet to play a single night where there not large scale battles and small nor have I played one where keeps and towers are not flipping.

Siege disablers are rarely used in EOTM. Objectives are rarely defended. There really no need to build any siege other then rams when on the Karmatrain. There are few if any “long boring sieges” and people want to advocate the rest of the borderlands become another EOTM.

That type of game already exists IN the EOTM. I find EOTM boring. A tier 3 keep should be hard to take and involve an investment of time. That is the reason keeps and castles are built in the first place.

It’s because siege disablers benefit the servers with more numbers and more coverage; and that’s already a thing on these forums.

All this does is allow the server with the bigger blob to go even more on the offense, since it only takes one guy with 20 supply to buy their zerg 1:30 to get back. 2 guys it can be 3 minutes and that’s not counting the amount of time it will take to get the door down after that and the damage done to the siege by defensive siege.

Meanwhile when the blobbier server goes on the offense, they can PvD an upgraded door before the disable even wears off.

Oh, and the golems getting less cool down; that’s bullshrimp! They really need to swap those first thing. Golem rushes are a plague on this game.

No. What favors the servers with the larger numbers is their larger numbers and not the tools they use. This like suggesting we remove hammers from the game because they favor the group that can wield more hammer warriors.

If a zerg of 40 is on a map with 10 of the enemy it will not make one whit of difference that those 40 can use siege disablers.

They can AFFORD to leave one scout per castle and keep even without disablers and get there in plenty of time to defeat those ten when they try and take an objective
It is not going to impact that numerical advantage.

T2 - Round 2 Fight!

I know for the lowers tiers it’s hard to get just how intense W3 was in T2 for like 5-6 months. I mean literally almost any NA guild you came in contact with could melt you in 5 seconds if you weren’t on your game. Even off hours had KH and NV, EA you get rolled no matter what your standing behind. Fortified WP keep is just more bags to these guys being imported from other maps. HOPE could sit in 6 superior ACs fire and sustain pretty much forever. You had to learn how to fight cause there wasn’t a piece of siege or wall fortified enough to stop these guys from breaking in if they didn’t have another guild to fight somewhere on the map. I’m talking 20 guys rolling 40 man pug blobs in siege fire.
But these were the people that mastered the game, hell some of them practically invented and re-invented the meta for the whole game mode. The top 5-10% I’d say. Eventually the game just got old to them. They had mastered all there was and after 2 years of playing hardcore to be the best they could they burned out. The competition dying killed off many other guilds and off course the random T1 purging we all go through.
What these SOS people are trying to say in maybe an awkward way is that there is still a lot of people left in T2 that played in that era, and many of them like myself are now training newbie scrubs and growing our new guilds that will hopefully be the new open field fight guilds of the next generation. And IF you’re interested in this type of thing T2 is the perfect place to get your feet wet right now.

SOS for all its faults is a server that won’t bunker they will fight, and they recognize the importance of allowing players to play how they want to play.
SOS/FA don’t need transfers we need a third server and we’re rolling out the welcome mat.

I think no one is disputing most of these points. What you basically have here is FA and SOS saying they want a replacement 3rd server of their own design. Most ppl from YB were just trying to explain that the server in general doesn’t do what you guys want. I like gvgs and I like open field fights, but it doesn’t mean I can’t see that YB would not be a good server to stack for GvG guilds. WET tried, and while YB liked them a lot, the general pop of the server is pvx and very casual. YB is mostly casual players that will trykitten seasons, but not much more. As a casual server, there is no leadership to decide on things you are asking. Ppl who want to ppt, will ppt. Ppl who want to go out and havoc will havoc. etc. Only set thing is that we will defend if called. So there is absolutely no point talking about what YB will or will not do. no one knows.

For the ppl trying to organize a new T2 gvg tier. YB is not really the server you are looking for.

We use siege because we like it. We like to defend and we do like our guilds to be community/militia/pug friendly. If you have found yourself raging at pugs in /m, being upset about ppl building siege, people adding on to your group while you raid. I would recommend another server. While we like for fights guilds and work well with them, we don’t want people to get a wrong idea. If you want a carrier for T2, look at DB or CD, even DR is better. We like being stable and pvx/community friendly, and that is all YB really cares about.

So T2, we are not the blob you are looking for;)

Why not just rebuild Maguma? If you really want a good for fight server to be in t2 just move some of SOS/FA guilds to Mag. Maybe even some of the T1 guilds.

No T3/T4 will have the coverage/pop to stay in t2. Maybe DB since they are Full.

Good to see these CDI’s continue and Guild ones are very much needed in GW2.

Guild Halls in GW1 were good and I think implementing them in a similar way would be a good idea. With merits serving as currency to buy upgrades. What we do need is some sort of a connection with wvw.

Have Gw1 like guild halls that can be used for a new gvg format similar to gw1 or for an arena team deathmatch like of current GvGs. It worked great in gw1.

Another option would be to claim one of the towers/keeps in wvw to use as a guild hall. The issue would be permanence. What if during a claim on a tower/keep , it would produce influence for the claiming guild? Same with pve? Have areas and keeps in the pve areas that can be claimed by different guilds or alliances? This would have an issue of loosing your upgrades etc. So maybe a gw1 version is easier and simpler to implement.

Remember to test it in Eotm first. At least if it doesnt work we will keep what we currently have.

How about exhaustion be applied upon using supplies instead of dropping the siege? I can pretty much drop 3 trebs and waste 300 supplies under the 3 minute frame.

This guy nailed it. U should focus on supplies spent, not sieges dropped. This way, commanders can still drop all the sieges and the siege trolls can’t…well…troll?

Most people actually defending or sieging your keeps are not commanders and generally few in numbers on servers lower than t1. Its common for 2 or 3 people to siege a map during off hours. So it makes no sense to limit supply spent. If there is an ocx ktrain coming to a tower, I prefer to be able to build siege to slow them down.

Highly recommend FNG. Very mature and friendly guild, that works very well with other
Yaks. Our OCX are some of our best players and FNG is no exception. If you are on YB and looking for OCX guild to run with FNG is a great choice. If you are on another server and are looking for a friendly place to stay, that knows how to defend well, join them.

YB still needs some organization during SEA time and a bit more numbers in OCX for our T4/T3 range. Our performance during seasons is very different from regular, so if you are looking for a long term stay on a stable T4/T3 server, come aboard.

The last time we made this thread in S2, it got banned. Hopefully, it won’t happen this time.

First, you guys are putting SBI too high up there. They’re losing most of their WvW guilds (supposedly) and will devolve into an almost entirely pug server.

Second, IoJ would probably still beat any of the T5 servers on coverage alone. BP lost some SEA, and even with NSP’s new OCX guild, they’re still fairly weak in OCX/SEA. I realize NSP is going hard this week, so we’ll see if that assessment changes during seasons.

Lastly, no one is “overestimating” YB. YB has actually received a non-negligible number of players from other servers (no specific guilds that I’m aware of), and we’ve all seen YB go overtime — foregoing sleep, hygiene, and real life responsibilities to win. Although YB may have fewer individual players than other T3 servers (a questionable claim at this point), it certainly doesn’t lack player-hours logged during seasons.

Not sure about SBI. But as far as only having pugs. YB lost most of its guilds right before Season 2. So it was mostly pugs for S2, and our standing actually improved.
If SBI still has its commanders and a lot of pve players turn out, they can still ppt well.

The issue with SBI is just the focus on EBG. If they actually learn that there are other maps they can take Silver:D

1. CD Strong NA and SEA. Probably biggest number of organized guilds in Silver.
2. DB Strongest SEA in Silver and very big PVE base.
3. YB Very good defense and solid militia, but not much coverage compared to cd and db. Will probably get focused hard early on, so putting us in 3rd.
4. SBI dark horse here. They have very big pop and some ok coverage when specific commanders raid. But too focused on ebg to take advantage of it.
5. IOJ Decent OCX, SEA, and EU zones. If they get a good PvE turnout they will be a very tough server to fight in silver. Probably the best server per capita in Silver.
6. DR Huge NA prime numbers but weak OCX . The issue for DR is that the PVE base is pretty low and most guilds are new to the server. So if they don’t try very hard and cover other timezones with na players they will not be able to win.
7. NSP, like IOJ and CD, very solid server that has low fairweather pop. Seems to have a decent SEA now.
8. HOD not sure if it has the same pve base as during S2. If they still have numbers from S2 they might do better.

Devon, this is a wrong direction for the commander interface. As other people said here the different colors are useful for map organization and communication on a wvw map. Putting such a high gold cost on the color selection is taking away from the benefit it brings, as it limits the option to people with a lot of gold, rather than commanders that are part of wvw community and coordinate with each other.
the cost of 300g for the tag itself is fine if its account bound now, but the colors as well as guild/map toggle for visibility should be free. At least make it free on wvw maps.
As someone already said, release extra color skins and shapes for the tags in gem store or something, but make color selection free.

If you are interested in our history check our stats on the wvw sites like millenium and gw2stats. Yaks Bend is probably one of the most stable mid tier servers on NA. We don’t generally leave t4/t3 area and are not affected much by departures or arrivals of guilds. We also also keep good relations with guilds that leave for top tiers, and often they come back after getting tired of omniblobs.

I think a lot of people posting don’t know whats really going on there. HoD didn’t collapse just yet. Their guilds like vlk, toh, pd and others are still playing, fighting and doing a lot in wvw. The mos.millennium/wvwintel do not show the real picture. Which is a strong push by yb to counter hod better coverage during the week. HoD always takes the weekend off, they will be back and the score will be more even.

The issue is that defending your own bl doesn’t seem to mater as much to some, as taking sm or k training some other bl. HoD doesn’t have a queue, but neither do bp or yb. for this tier hod is far from dead.

Nate, it depends. There is a potential, and we have a number of guilds that are working on the same principle. However, yb isn’t a hardcore wvw server, so don’t expect to just recruit a number of ppl right away. You would need to train and work on it for a bit. And show people what you can do. Its the same on every server, as getting, and more importantly retaining people takes work. I wouldn’t come if I was just coming for recruitment, but if you want a great community YB is perfect.

We are currently starting to see a lot of results from our long term training and communication work. A lot of results in different timezones and most importantly stable and friendly environment. Also if you are an older gamer, come to Yaks! We have the highest pop of older gamers in GW2, and it leads to a more mature community. Also, we don’t generally do much RP, but as a server YB is friendly with RP community. There are some guilds that roleplay to a degree on YB, and we generally support their efforts when they have in game events in wvw.

For t3/t4 try Yaks. Our EU and NA are pretty good. Don’t expect yaks to be too tryhard, but I can promise a very friendly community and good numbers during EU/NA for t3/t4.

Also if you are EU timezone, give yaks a try. I play during all timezones depending on my weird schedule, and EU on Yaks is second only to NA prime in the level of organization. For the tier where we are we generally have very good equal fights during EU time frame. Very good commanders and great players. During Ocx we are generally very good defensively for our tier., but more players will be great to let OCX krewe do more. Also when it maters our na and eu ppl will try to stay up/get up early to support ocx.

Don’t come if you want to bandwagon, but do come if you want a good and friendly community. Cheers and see you in game, friend or foe.

Alright enough flaterring yourself dude, YB and EBay didn’t just make a truce. If it was just that the match would be way more closer and EBay would have zero chances at second place.

Here’s the truth: Since reset, EBay and YB had all their teams focused on SBI. Which is still fine, then as week progresses YB used spies, siege griefers, mesmer portaled zergs into citadel to destroy omegas and even worst manipulated the match uos scores. How? By giving EBay their own BL towers, keeps for free and throwing YB zergs into EBays so EBay could stomp for PPT. This is the scummy moves I was reffering to the other threads, so like I said, dont flatter yourself.

Its no counsidence both of your servers lost a vast amount of players after leagues, karma is a kitten isn’t it

I think the whole alliance idea was idiotic, but considering that most of of the spying/siege griefing was done by [bags] and the whole drama started due to them destroying siege/supply, your post is hilarious. Keep it up.
