I’d be totally satisfied with 3-5 dragonite ore per optional boss. Obviously wouldn’t kill the AC troll, but champ spiders and champ drake in Arah were definitely killworthy, although not so rewarding that you had to kill them.
With just 3 ore per boss, by now, I’d have about as much dragonite ore together as I’d need for one full ascended set. Of course, thats by no means much, but it’s better than doing zerg events all day.
10/20/0/25/15 has it’s uses over 0/30/0/25/15.
Especially in situations where grabbing utilities other than mantras are worth more than the 4% boost. With 1 mantra, both builds are about equal, without mantra, 10/20 is your choice.
Dunno what’s wrong with this game but EU or NA it’s just unplayable at times without a VPN. Quite capricious because there are days where there is virtually no lag at all and others where I could stand in an invisible AoE for five seconds before any hit registers on my screen.
I’m getting the exact same issue, but only with EU servers. It goes from almost no noticeable lag to more than 20 seconds delay (no joke, 20.000 ms ping).
And then there’s sometimes weird things like game server and game client doing something completely different. Server thinks I’m at Arah entrance, whereas I’m already at Tar Elemental on my client, until…using a movement skill and getting ported vback all way.
On NA on the other side it’s a constant 0,2-0,5 seconds delay on all actions. Depending on the day or w/e. But I never lag out there as much as on EU.
Anyway, I find NA servers to be a lot less active than EU servers, anywhere from 10am-5am GMT. It’s like people are never up to anything and it takes ages to get a dungeon run ongoing. Plus, yheres absolutely zero night time WvW on TC and BG.
Thousands and thousands of gems spent – but 12 slot equipment boxes.
Wish I could, though, but going to stop gw2 for a while now.
Try to set some rules for gaming: do not spend money on games, make money with them.

no homer though (get rekd filter)
I love you too Cookie, lots’a homer, though.

I just can’t tell if that sylvari is male of female… or shemale?
Still sucks to know its possible to down a boss this fast. Gives the wrong idea to people and then they start attempting to do the same thing because they think its effective wich in most case prove not true. Must i mention this video likely costed them Several repair and a good thousand attempt (the last one behing the Lucky one that didnt fail)? Video of speedclears should in no way be considered a standard in pve dungeon.
Uhh… three attempts, no repair costs (for me).
Not in a dungeon, but shareworthy nevertheless. O.o
This shall not be taken as an entry, though! Bad place to take screenies, not enough sun for springtime, but too much light anyway. Luckily my elementalist has also mastered the ways of color changing, to make this a bit more interesting.
For the last picture, I was trying myself in Weth-style. How did I do?
Edit: You can take the NO one as entry of me.

Even if today’s ‘evening runs’ didn’t go as smooth as wanted, particulary cause by some typical 3-letter-ing dub, I should have still got a few nice screenies. I’ll update this later.

Was rp’ing as rainbow.
Fiery Rush against a wall : 175-200k dmg
Ice Bow : 15-20k dmg (about 30k if all shards hit)
If fiery rush does 200k damage (2.9k ticks), ice storm hitting with all shards (it’s actually more than 20, I already had 23 hits on bosses like Lupicus or Howling King) would deal about 180-200k damage aswell. The skill is highly underestimated.
Doing identical strategies while just getting slightly better execution/RNG is just splitting hairs and not worth the frustration.
But that’s exactly what records are about.

Indeed it’s pathetic, you are jealous.
I’m not jealous, it’s just a glaring reminder of how dull the speed clear/kill meta is.
Because using the skill with the undisputed highest DPS to kill something fast is pathetic… #logic
When it lets guilds like yours cheese fights where you lack the skill to actually dodge the mechanics to kill bosses, then yes, a weapon having this high DPS is pathetic.
Using guardians in fotm/anywhere else is cheesing too. Using mesmers in any projectile heavy area is cheesing too. Using warriors anywhere is cheesing too. Using vigor or energy sigils where they are not required is cheesing too.
At least if you want to look at it this way.
In fact, doing a fgs lupicus duo was flat out much harder than doing a normal (no fgs) one. It takes me at most two attempts to solo alpkitten a naked mesmer and just a few as guardian. Doing it on Ele instead, with only maegnetic wave/obsidian flesh, swirling, which actually overlap, arcane shield and some FGS evades is harder than timing those tools to receive 100% like uptime, too.
I understand your point of parties being able to cheese their way through various encounters with the power of the fgs, but if talking of speedclears, FGS kills involve a lot more thinking, theorycrafting, positioning, timing and skill to get an acceptable time. Although this was in no way meant to be a record run, we were just about selling path 2 after we did (yet another) 50s duo lupicus and wanted to get alphard done quick, not using “easymode” with all utilites eles have.
If anyone disagrees on that, I’d like to see your FGS-based records of lupicus, alphard or any other encounter in a not nessecarily full team. Although, if anyone tries breaking the current 5 men lupicus record: good luck and good nerves. You’ll need both. Don’t expect it to finish in under a few days of contant trying, even though the tactics (I yet had to find out) are public now.

So rT guild chat is filled with giggling little girls thanks to the wardrobe blog. Were all casuals at heart.
Don’t ever mention the G-word when kitten can watch.
In my opinion, they could flat out remove empyreal stars and bloodstone dust from any loottables. I have saved over 100 stacks of each.
Almost, Lupicus solo’ed itself after seeing her georgeous look.
GuildWars2? I only know Casual/ZergWars2. Therefore: *NO*t at all.

4. No profit. :/
Genius! But now delete the post so they don’t fix it completely mess it up. -.-
With my warrior, in a lupicus solo setting, I’ll lose about 23% damage.
Edit: Well, that screen was taken a bit bad. With banner, food and all other stuff included (70 food, 100 less ferocity than prec by traits, 170 by banner, etc.) I got to 69,7% critdmg after the change. Please explain why. Explain:
The sources of all of your crit damage
Pre-Ferocity values
Post-Ferocity values
Your calculations to arrive at your result. The spreadsheet is supposed to do this it seems, but I don’t really trust it at this point. And when you write it all out, it helps everyone understand and demonstrates that you also understand exactly what you’re talking about.
As I uploaded the spreadsheet I use, just see yourself?
It’s already pretty late (or early) right now so I’ll just make it short. I was taking the power and the precision value of my warrior, added banner, fury and food and put them in the spreadsheet.
For scenario 1, I just took the current critical damage value of my warrior, added 10% of food, 15% of banner and that was it. I also added 250 power for a stacking weapon, which you’ll lose after the update.
For scenario 2, I did it in two ways, the first one was taking the precision value of gear (excluding infusions), adding 150 ferocity from traits and adding 75 ferocity for scholar runes (eagle runes are different, they have crit damage increased three times whereas scholar only has it twice). That value I manually devided by 15 and put the result (69%, rounded down from 69,7%) into the critical damage field.
Second way was taking my actual precision value, substracting 40 from infusions, another 100 by traits, adding 75 by runes and subtracting 916 base to find out the ferocity value.
As for what the spreadsheet does, it’s really simple. It simply takes Constant values and adds them to all Scenario X values. Then it takes the added values and calculates EP by:
EP = (Power * (Critchance * 1 + Critical damage + 0.5) x Modifiers) * Coefficients.
Leaving unnecessary parts away, it comes down to power, precision and critical damage. The EP is shown in the middle of the picture.
If you want to test all this, in the scenario X critical damage parts, uptime and value are integrated the other way round. I was too lazy to fix this, making the document a *.ods, as I do not have Excel installed on my current (not permanent) OS.
After all, casually optimized builds will be hit with about 20-25% damage reduction by the patch, fully optimized by about 25-30%.
With my warrior, in a lupicus solo setting, I’ll lose about 23% damage.

Fact: Eles in organized runs will be hit with about a 30% damage reduction.
-go figure.
@Spoj, I don’t know why I bother either. Well, actually I don’t. There will always be people who can’t do simple maths, so there will always come up threads like this.
OP math is perfectly fine.
Exactly, but the assumptions are not.
Ele’s lose out 29.97349% of their damage.
http://www.file-upload.net/download-8743952/spreadsheet.xlsx.html
Edit: As it wasn’t as clear as I thought it would be, I’ll explain the calculations done there. A thing you all have seem to forgotten is that your power actually also matters for the calculations.
Aside of that, I uploaded a new picture with more description of the done entries.
For the new critdamage I took the base of precision (same as for critical damage after the update), added banner bonus, the arcane brilliance trait and substracted 916 as ferocity is not going to have a base. As for the lost 10% modifier goes, it’s because of the change of sigils. You either lose 250 stat points from the stacking sigil or a 10% modifier from a weapon. As the stacking sigil is situational, I simply took the 10% instead.

Elementalists have very good defensive utilities. They have poor basic defense (@Warr).
If you’re good enough at the Elementalist (nothing extreme or anything alike), you’ll find that you’re very, very hard to kill – even in full Zerker (I’ve always played with E.A. though)Ele’s defensive utilities are strictly personal one (lacks team support) and if you increase your poor basic defense you’re no longer needed cause you are basically running a bad build.
Basically this. And even personal survivability is severly limited. You have no vigor, no evades, the weakest heal in the game, the lowest armor, the lowest hp, no protection, almost no projectile absorbtion and just one invuln skill on 50s cooldown.
Currently eles in PvE mean high risk, high offensive reward, low defensive reward. With a FGS nerf it’s going to be high risk, decent offensive reward, low defensive reward. Guardians have mediocre risk, decent offensive reward, high defensive reward. Warriors have no risk, high offensive reward, low-medriocre defensive reward.
They will just disapeear of PvE like necros and engis. Both of those are great at vuln stacking, just as ele is at might and fury stacking. But they don’t offer anything else worthy and vuln can be achieved in other ways. Eles don’t offer anything else worthy than might and fury stacking, which again can be done by other professions aswell.
~ 50% dps increase is way too much.
U can say that i did mistake with my numbers ok.
But u can´t say that fiery rush at it´s current state isn´t too strong.
Nerfing (not to the ground, just balance it) fiery rush dmg won´t make the fgs or the ele useless.
I fixed my numbers in the opening post to make them more realistic.
What other dps increase than a 40% one (assuming a wall to be used in a full party with 2 people using the fgs) would you suggest for an elite skill with sixty seconds duration (five fiery rushes) and three minutes cooldown, on a profession that has close to no defensive utilites and just an “upper average” damage output?
Decreasing it’s damage by 25% would be fine, but anything beyond that is simply going to make it a “skip only” weapon (which it’s already mostly used for now, in a lot of dungeon paths) for speedruns.
Seriously, if you want to bring down fgs, make sure to rebalance eles in exchange. Give them much greater utility, a better non fgs damage output or a ton survivability more.
~300.000-400.000 damage in 3 seconds with 1 SkilL! is too much. This is the main reason why bosses are melted down.
So your FGS ticks generally do 5.5k to 5.8k damage per tick? Amazing. Assuming optimal conditions, the fgs is about a 50% dps increase to most professions and therefore is not the reason why bosses melt so fast.
And as the person who organized and organizes most speedruns, including coming up with the tactics being used, I can tell you that ele’s actually are mainly used because of the FGS. Might and fury stacking can be easily done by guardians, which provide a lot more defensive group utility, have better movement and are less squishy than eles. Once Fiery Rush totally gets “fixed”, it will not only be just another useless elite skill, it will also make almost any use for eles void. For some dungeon path’s we might still use one, for the majority eles will be totally canceled out of the “meta”.
I just got a Tequatl’s Hoard from the second kill I did since the revamp.
@Lilith, yes I do!
My warrior’s style just went from night’ish blue with foefires to dark’ish green glowing style with Sunless Claymore and Algae dye. Had to buy a Transmutation Splitter and Algae dye for it first, though.
My warrior looks pretty nice from behind (in my opinion) but a little awful in front.
Added some pictures.

Yes! Best patch forever. We will lose 20-25% damage output on full offensive builds, but gain about 25% more healing. It’s all about DPS UPTIME guys, we can now go with full offensive builds and do not even have to dodge ONCE anymore. Totally passive play, just like clerics, but we will deal more damage than before!
It was just tragic, nearly every wipe Dub was the last man standing by a long shot.
That’s because I went full noob setup. It’s pretty depressing that I did so bad, although it was yet pretty okay assuming the 0.5s delay and the hunger I was suffering from. Next time, I’ll do better, I promise! At least if our next meeting is on EU servers, at good times, in non-LS dungeons. I feel absolutely no interest in practising or even spending thought on those, so I most likely won’t be able to properly pull my weight in TA aether.
Free EU leeches for all of you, at least for a week. Lilith already got a lifetime leeching ticket by resurrecting me so often ._.
@Spoj, It’s not even all bears that were there, just a second before there was a big knockback.
@Lind, I was solo’ing the Fire Shaman event (all phases) and one person was resetting it over and over again by walking through the fire fields. He didn’t even attack once outside of the reflection phase (and he was using longbow) and scaled the event up. After I wrote that, he just went afk, yet scaling the event up. Took me about 40 minutes to complete the chain, as I still had two wipes when I tried melee’ing. That bosses flurry is so OP.
@Lilith, you weren’t online a lot lately. I had lots of paths you mentioned ready to leech for you!
@Iris, lol.
I don’t agree to delete a record cause an ember removed only 0.2% of the health boss
But it also creates a fire field, therefore applies burning :o
