I wouldn’t even use one of those. 10/30/0/30/0 was chosen for pure of voice iirc, which is quite useless in most situations. And about 20/30/20/0/0… i can’t tell anything, that build just seems awful.

It’s about the time your absorb/reflect skill gets active. If he unleashes a projectile and then your skill get active, the projectile will ignore that skill.

Right, so in a group of a thief, a guard, 2 warriors and a ranger, you would cut the second war and use the engi for might stacking pre-combat and then pure DPS?
How is the engi burst compared to, say, hundred blades?
Finally, how much of a problem is clicking/pressing a button for each “auto” attack? If you can’t fire it off consistently, immediately because your hand is tired then it might make dungeon farming (or I suppose now, a dungeon farming route) a little difficult to be 100% consistent in.
In that demo he used big ole bomb. You’ll never use that in a dungeon as you don’t want an aoe knockback. That’s one of the whopping 8.6k ability hits.
Still pretty decent DPS but the problem is in more complex/task heavy encounters how well can you maintain a rotation compared to a warrior.
I think we all know thieves have amazing output but I think part of what makes warriors so strong is the self sufficiency and forgiving mechanics.
Well obviously you’ll check for defiant stacks before using aoe knockback.
I mean it for the purpose of encounters with adds and anything that involves cleaves. Otherwise if single target is all that matters you bring 2 thieves, a ranger for spirit and spotter, a warrior for banners, and either a mesmer or guardian.
The problem isn’t that the engineer is just competing for DPS or might stacking and vulnerability. The problem is that so long as banners and spirits exist you won’t be substituting those classes without bringing comparable utility of your own, and in single target the thieves porpper up by warriors and rangers will still outperform an engineer if the engineer wants to fill the raw dps slot instead the utility support slots of rangers or mesmer or guardians.
If raw damage was everything that matters in gw2 you should always bring two or three eles. Rangers still don’t have a spot there, thieves just for making a simultaneus start easier. And then that thief won’t even use any of their own weapon skills.

The funny thing is, there was a video, I don’t think it was Guang playing because he only plays with the Excel client, but it was some engineer back before the Kit Refinement nerf doing a solo DPS demonstration…

I think it was him. And if you take those solo dps tests as valid ones, think about it again.
Yeah, that was me, and I blew Strife up pretty hard. Basically I did a sustained DPS test, and Strife apparently doesn’t understand what sustained DPS is so he did a burst demo, which I also beat.
I also don’t know why you are still asking for videos when Brazil uploads videos pretty much every day of him using my builds (or similar) blowing up your miserable warrior numbers.

Also: survinig is mostly a standalone job. You are not a good player if you need a party to stay alive. Of corse there are exceptions, though.
I believe Engi DPS with grenade kit really isn’t that bad but it’s might stacking is active instead of passive. So you loose DPS when stacking might. Also Engi’s DPS won’t come close to beeing good enough since they don’t provide buffs like banners/spirits. And i already struggle wanting rangers in my dungeon runs. If i’d go for raw damage i’d simply stack eles. Bringing a ranger usually isn’t worth the loss of cleave and (especially) burst damage.
I don’t have a button on my mouse for #9, didn’t use #8 and clicking wall is a more reliable option than using a keybind. Sad that i clicked the elite, though but i’m still new to keybinds (just started with them two days ago).
Any constructive critic is appreciated, though!

Running a dungeon twice. (Not AC or Arah)
Before Update: 120 Tokens, ~1.6g
After Update: 80 Tokens, 1.52g.
Doesn’t seem too bad, but the second run was/is:
Before Update: 60 Tokens, ~80s.
After Update: 20 Tokens, 26s.
=> Dungeon nerf. Also a huge money making nerf with recipes. I’m not affectred too much, though. Arah Bonus reward makes a bit up for, i just play less.

They should simply make swords coefficients multiplicated with 1.75. Mesmers still don’t deal impressive damage then, but it won’t be as bad as it currently is.
Non Berserker players disturb anyone who cares about efficiency.

Also, funny about that “free loot bag” point. I’m 99% sure i’d beat anyone bringing it in a 1v1 with myself wearing berserker gear. Because just bad players bring this argument who didn’t understand what this game is about.
Also, lets come back to the stat list and what each stat contributes to a party. Using that, could anyone show me how antly non berserker stat is helping the party in any way?
Vitality, Toughness, Magic Find. 100% selfish stats.
25% from traits is… probably still lowest in the game.
And theese have to do with this discussion. Damage in gw2 is calculated by (Power*(1+Critchance*Critdmg+0.5)Traitamplifiers)Weapon Damage * Skill Coefficient/Targets Armor. Also, reducing cooldowns is mostly useless. Highest DPS is autoattacking anyway in most cases (melee weapons).
The tool tip data is pretty much never accurate. Also, if there is “3x=900” that means that all three hits together do that damage. Longbow ranger is pretty poor dps (just autoattack) too, though. Compare it to thief, warrior or elementalist dps (aa+lava font).
Also, Ele LH is a weapon which has an autoattack. With the trait conjurer you have 100% LH uptime. Picking it up once each 30 seconds really isn’t that much loss in dps.
It isn’t. You gain 20 tokens as normal reward and 40 via daily bonus chest. The bext run simply won’t give the extra gold/tokens, just 26 silver and 20 tokens.
1000 Power? In a group setting you should have about 3500 Power (not attack).
Mesmers have a 4%/Mantra multiplicator and 3% per illusion. Usually you don’t use any mantras, sometimes 2-3. All in all that makes up to a 1.09*1.12 amplifier which is extremely low. Also Mesmers Skill Coefficients are the lowest of any profession.
Just compare Warrior’s Rifle/LB rotation to Mesmer’s GS damage. Even in the very unlikely case of having three Berserkers up your DPS is still going to be lower.
Oh by the way: where did you take those damage coefficients and cast times from? Wiki? Lol. Also, melee dps is higher and no skilled player uses ranged weapons in PvE. Compare Mesmers Traits abd Coefficients to Warriors. The result will show that mesmers damage is crap. And warriors dps isn’t even high. Compare mesmer dps to ele dps, Eles have up to a 1.761 amplifier before 33% and 2.0 amplifier below 33%. Lightning Hammer has the highest dps in the game and the initial 200k bust of FGS ain’t bad either. An Ele is able to dish out more damage in the first 3 seconds of a fight than a mesmer in 30 seconds.

Doesn’t in Arah and CoF. Probably its just a floating number bug just as berserker had a while ago. But 4k Blurred Frenzy in CoF with 25 Stacks Might definitely isn’t normal (5k AA’s lol).
Mesmer’s Blurred Frenzy doesn’t hit 8 times anymore, just 3-4 times.
I got 1-2 exotics and 3-5 rares per run. Also i’ve got both recipes.
Not to mention about 5 t6 mat’s each run.
I personally asked them to not touch your main source of income.
I just did those path 2 run’s for Twilight! And killed Lupicus at least to ~50%.
Arah Paths 1-3, AC 1+3 and running around in Ascalon, doing my daily.

This update is insane, i made over 50g in a bit less than 2 hours, inculding 30 minutes afk’ing.
I’ll try out path 4 soon and update the real value.

Path 3 Arah is 1.5g… Like it’s not 3 times as long as CoF P1.
Arah path 2 is 3g.
An 5-10 minute path 2 run definitely is worth the same amount of gold as a 30 minutes p4 run.

If everyone stacks up an noone moves all projectiles will be aimed exactly into the wall and therefore be reflected.

Even implemented that for the kittenty spider queen in AC which is no fun at all, so please make it for a fun boss like lupicus too!
When you have time to set up 3 phantasms your team is terribly bad.
And GS at range is possibly one of the worst ranged DPS in the game.
Mesmer DPS is lowest in the whole game, burst and sustained in common circumstances. That is a fact.

@Nikaido: Eles also have much better burst than warriors. In the first three seconds of combat they dish out up to 200k damage.
Doing the FGS rush shouldn’t be considered as a reliable form of dps since it really doesn’t work at every boss or trash pull. Also, Nikaido is a big thor hammer fan, he knows.
And another thing the FGS rush needs to be fixed.
@spoj, it’s probably similar to ranger, and ranger brings group buffs. You’ve already admitted necro is just a sponge so ranger is better in that only.

If the entire party stands inside WoR noone will get damage and as many projectiles will be reflected as with feedback. I always use WoR to reflect the p2 aoe when solo’ing, works just fine.
WoR works just as good as feedback. The reason why we take a mesmer is timewarp.
