Black Rebel Motorcycle Club… “Beat The Devil’s Tattoo”
(edited by Ejiofor.4801)
My Style?
Stupid.
I just roll in all like
“Pshhht…30 vs 1? I got this.”
If you were seeing immune, were you using a condition build? Might have been the Automated Response that kicked in.
At 25% hp, become immune to condition. If you hit him with condition, it will show immune, but will still do direct damage. Tho with pistol gun it won’t be much.
Since you say it popped immune, I would look for that!
Edit : Siofra beat me to it! Daammn you! :P
Totally forgot about Automated Responses. I was tagging her with Poison Dart Volley along with Explosive Shot. That makes a TON more sense.
Thanks for the clarification. I wasn’t trying to scream HACK! BLAH BLAH!! Just wanted to make sure!
I have been interested in using my D/P Thief in WvW more. I have had some decent success with it.
I’m not great with Thief, but I do have some good moments. I guess I’m just used to my Engineer
Tested out Sigils of Hydromancy on D/D(nice 3 second slow to keep them from running away when I CnD), with the Sigil of Geomancy on my D/P part(usually swap to this after I Death Blossom, CnD, and Backstab. Gives that 7 second Bleed on top of the DB Bleed).
I’m not good with up close super fast Burst Damage, So I go for the prolonged fights, and try to take my time in 1v1s or 1v3s(this is where Shadows and Black Powder play a great roll for me). The key word here is ‘try’(again not that great at Thief, but still learning )
Roll with 0/20/30/20/0 (just seemed right. Saw Iohanna’s and had a gander. Sho’ ‘nuff, I’m on the right path )
I like the Shadow Shot, and how cheap it is on Initiative, and the fact it gives a ‘Blind’ to the attack. Combined with Hide in Shadows, Roll for Initiative, Infiltrator’s Signet, Signet of Shadows, and Thieves Guild.
Using Runes of the Undead, with Knight’s Jewelry, and Crests of the Rabid.
Would love to see Rocket Boots reworked…
With the Snow Leopard Form, there is a speed attack that is insanely fast and tramples your enemies…
I would love to see a variation of this for Rocket Boots, with the Rocket Kick as a Finisher. Toolbelt would be the ‘GET THE HELL OUTTA THERE!’ button on the boots, breaking Stun or CC by launching you backwards(ala Acidic Elixir Jump from Elixir Gun), but letting you land on your feet.
Nice, KEVLAR EATER!
Only an Engineer can use a Pry bar to make you hit yourself.
Only an Engineer can unleash a Flame Jet into your face at point blank range… AND MISS.
It was between Cliffside and Garrison. Halfway to the Garrison is when the IMMUNE kicked in…on the left side of the road leading to the Garrison.
I’m not trying to be ‘that guy’. I’m just curious if I missed something. I have played an Engineer long enough to know that I have never had that happen to me
I know there is the Determined buff, but I don’t know how that works, to be honest. If that is how it works, then that’s fine. I’m cool with it.
I just got out of WvW, facing off against another P/S Tool Kit Engineer. Everything was fine, I chased her down…
Then 10 seconds of IMMUNE while I continuously shot at her.
She had already popped her Elixir S…her 25 percent Self Regulating Defenses also popped.
She didn’t Toss an Elixir S or any other Elixir.
Unless I’m missing something, what in our arsenal does that?
This was such a surprise that I didn’t have time to do a screencap. And I don’t have FRAPS.
Any thoughts? I would think that one of us would know about this…
As an Engineer, I almost always had trouble with D/D Eles. Usually in WvW(lately), I will get that RTL by no less than FIVE D/D Eles. Oof.
That being said, I made one, and took it to the sPvP area, and messed around with it.
I have found lately that instead of being obliterated, I’m able to keep a D/D Ele at a Standoff fight, where if one makes a mistake, it’s anyone’s game.
Granted, I am running a version of the TankCAT, which is called the FlameCAT(for the Flamethrower). Often I find that Flame Jet will keep a D/D Ele back while I drop a Napalm line. He gets too close, Air Blast, then swap to Pistol/Shield for Poison Dart Volley. I use my Static Shield-Static Shot-Prybar-Elixir B. Usually, the confusion damage , along with the Retaliation given by Elixir B, drops a D/D Ele(if done perfectly ). Halfway to 3/4 through the fight, I’ll drop a Supply Crate(gives a nice Stun along with the ‘Toys’ that come with it). I try to drop box of Nails and hit them with my Thrown Wrench to Cripple, but they’re too fast! LOL.
Ultimately, the D/D Ele has forced me to STEP MY GAME UP
Added: I made an Ele because I was inspired by Egg Shen from BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA
(edited by Ejiofor.4801)
I would love to see Rocket Boots act like a Targeted Charge…e.g. pick a target and WHOOSH to them, with the Rocket Kick as the Finisher(as for Toolbelt Skill I haven’t the foggiest…perhaps a ’Get the Hell Outta There!" like the Rocket Boot mechanic, but it actually shrugs off the other Conditions you are suffering from)
Using Overcharged Shot as a Knockback/Stun Breaker without the falling down mechanic(launching yourself back but still on your feet) would be nice as well.
As for the randomness of Toss Elixir S? Perhaps a mechanic that resembles an alternating effect…e.g. First toss is Stealth, so you know the next Toss will grant Stability, and so forth. For all other Tosses, such as Elixir B and Elixir H, just give us all the effects
Yesterday Morning was loads of fun with my fellow NERFs. For the limited amount of time we were on, we did really well!
We’ve proven what a few Engineers can do in WvW. Past three runs with NERF have been amazingly fun…and lighthearted!
Looking forward to more… Can’t wait to see tons of Engineers from NERF all on the field at the same time! As soon as we all get our schedules down for available times, we’ll be rockin’ and rollin’!
Been working on a FlameCAT build…
(you know the drill )
I find that I’m swapping ALOT between FT and TK…and when I see someone zeroed in on me I’ll swap to P/S and let Static Shield do it’s work, followed by Static Shot, swap to TK, and Prybar.
I kept my Superior Dolyak Runes (I’m broke! lol )mixed Berserker’s with Soldier’s Jewelry, and kept Elixir H instead of Med Kit. Keeping Invigorating Speed up with Speedy Kits and Elixir B provides a nice constant stream of Endurance for Dodging.
I like removing Conditions, so I chose to use Sigil of Purity. Add to that some food, usually a Bowl of Saffron Scented Poultry Soup(70 Healing Power, 100% Condition Removal on Heal), Bowl of Truffle Ravioli(100 Toughness, 70 Precision), or Bowl of Tropical Mousse(100 Toughness, +70 Condition Damage)(great now I’m hungry) are nice additions. The good news? They’re cheap!
FT in WvW…Opponents naturally back away. Added to that the Might, and 200 Toughness and you are a walking Nightmare. I find that I crit ALOT with FT and other things, so I chose Precise Sights for that extra Vulnerability. I usually lay down Napalm, swap to P/S and start shooting…or I’ll swap to TK and pull ‘em through the fire line. Usually I’ll have Rangers with me to use the Fire Line for their Finishers.
I like to use my Magnet to pull some guy off a buddy who is one second away from his FINISH HIM!
I love popping Elixir S and busting out a “TINY DUNK!”
It’s demoralizing.
I can imagine the person obliterating his keyboard in frustration…
And for your listening pleasure… Patrick Cassidy’s ‘Vide Cor Meum’
Just wanted to drop in and say I’m having a fantastic time playing with FA!
Stretched thin, responding as quickly as possible to any call outs…Yeah. You guys are awesome. FA Commanders should be commended for their leadership. From what I’ve seen, FA Commanders operate quite well in chaos. Excellent work, ladies and gentlemen
And again, running in to a zerg to get your buddies up? I cannot tell you how many times I saw this, or was a part of this during CD rushes.
That’s character. That’s class. That’s fortitude, gang
(edited by Ejiofor.4801)
I agree with pretty much all of this, especially the bits about randomness.
I’d like them to go over the Toolbelt again, make Toolbelt skills able to be chosen independently, and craft a whole new set of Toolbelt skills that’re properly balanced, instead of “And here’s our attempt to not unbalance this other thing, since somebody reminded us that switching between four sets of weapon skills was already taken as a class mechanic.”
Exactly. The ability to choose our Toolbelt skills will help in overcoming alot of obstacles some people have. It would not be a game breaking fix. It would make the Engineer more competitive in WvW and sPvP. “Oh cool Rocket Kick!…Oh wait…I gotta take this Rocket Boots Stun Break-Self-Stun…”…“Oh sweet Surprise Shot! The Turret can…melt in a second…Huh.”
I like fighting D/D eles with my Engineer…
I like it when they rush forward to plow into my Static Shield, followed by a series of Static Shots…and a Prybar to the face… and a few Wrench Shots… and a Supply Crate on their Skull…
except when they get beat, they run away with their WTFFLYAWAYINVULNERABLEINVINCIBLEBBQIPWNDULULZ
…EVERY TIME…
I’ve run the course in regards to kits and versatility in WvW. The one thing I found that will push a zerg back is a Flamethrower. Drop the Fire Field, then let the Auto-Attack do the work. They back up. Swap to Pistol/Shield, and let that Guardian/Warrior/D/D Ele hit you with Static Shield, Static Shot, swap to Tool Kit and Prybar, along with Elixir B.
That’s been the course for me lately.
Started to look at kits, and the FT/EG/TK setup is nice. Still can’t get rid of P/S, though. I like the Shield Functions(Magnetic and Static).
I find myself swapping between tower rushes, e.g. if there is siege being laid down, swap to Elixir H and Elixir B, keep EG and TK(for YOINKING those foolish enough to stand on the edge of the keep). Run around and drop Super Elixir. For the Elite ALWAYS Mortar. More often than not, because you are close, you will be targeted, and the siege not. Thus you are doing your ‘Support Role’.
As for the future of Four Kits? I am starting to look at a Bomb Kit/Tool Kit/Flamethrower build(because darnit, I love to blow stuff up). Just wish the Mine was better…
Just give me the ability to customize my toolbelt and I’m happy
I use the Runes of the Dolyak as well(I like having solid Toughness and High Health. That Regen is nice too), with my hybrid DPS/Tank build.
Since I see that you have 30 in bombs, maybe a Superior Sigil of Corruption(+10 Condition damage per kill). As for gear…Hrmmmm… Valkyrie gives Precision/Crit Dam/Vitality…Rampagers is nice too.
Also…Maybe swap all your Jewelry for for Knight’s(or Soldier’s) Jewelry, with Exquisite Coral Orbs centered around Precision/Condition Damage/Power?
Precision, Power, Condition Damage or Toughness. But that’s me
I probably wasn’t much help. I keep trying to have that solid, ‘rounded out’ feel to my Engineer.
Good luck!
Had a lot of fun tonight, spamming supply crates and net shots, the group I played with did pretty well against zergs that came our way and we all had a blast as we knew what each other could do. Look forward to the next engie partae!
It’s amazing what a few Engies can do. Heck, even the past two times running with NERF, just ‘doing what we do’ was so much fun! I spoke with some of the people on FA Teamspeak, and let them know we’ll be “Loadin’ Out” Sunday Morning.
Team ideas:
Thumper Team – Demolitions, Explosives, Mortars, Knockbacks, Thumper Turrets(I’ll swap from TankCAT to a Thumper to join this team). They are meticulous when it comes to their timing.
Tanks- TankCAT takes punishment, then ‘shakes it off’. Prefers to pulverize their opponents with Prybars and Wrenches. Will often deploy a Net Turret to keep their enemies from escaping…oh the horror…
Torchers- Anything and Everything Flamethrower. Having sustained injuries that have left most disfigured and somewhat unstable, a Torcher is a steady, walking Inferno on the field of battle. Some men just want to watch the world burn…
Corpsmen- Rifles and Support types. Elixirs, Med Kits. These are the soldiers that can run into heavy enemy fire and get you back on your feet. They are undaunted, and fearless.
Gunslingers- Superior Speed and Agility make these pistoleros dangerous foes. More often than not, you can find them wandering alone. They unleash precise shots from their pistols, and most simply try and run away…try, until they realize they are stuck to the ground with a glue like substance…
This is just me goofing around, hehe. Had to
After leaving TC to join FA, I can say that I am impressed with the Commanders, and the fighting spirit of the Server.
NERF and the others at Moles…
Excellent work, keeping IoJ holed up in that tunnel for so long, with the numbers that we had. You pushed hard, and didn’t back down. Also saw a bunch of you rush in to get a downed man up, even in those heavy AoE Fields!
Came across this gem of a ‘theme song’ for NERF when we ‘Load Out’ into a BL…
Ran with Penguin and Charrbucks the other day. Loads of fun! I think we did quite well, especially when we rolled up on the EB CD zerg…Three of us against all of them…We definitely made an impression, considering we were just messing around. I can’t believe we lasted that long against that zerg! Wait…I can believe it…
All in all good times to be had. I’m going to enjoy rolling in Fort Aspenwood under the NERF Banner
Boom. Just transferred
This is going to be so much fun!
NERF rolls up on a Fortified Tower… 3 minutes later There is NO TOWER
Great Vid! I have yet to get into any tournament play.
I run something similar, now that I have started to experiment away from my TankCAT. While I love the TankCAT survivability, My first love is the Rifle. A great weapon with ALOT of versatility.
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fcAQFAUl0pyUH5y2F17IxIFkuzgeYX/qXRKyflB;T0AA1ynEOJdS9kyJKbM2IsxajzGpNDKA
(As always, just copy and paste in your browser)
I know having Runes of the Dolyak is a bit off, but those are from my TankCAT days…and I went broke buying them(26 gold what???), hehe.
Complimenting these Runes with Ruby Orichalcum Jewelry of the Knight/Soldier helps to offset that ‘Glass Cannon’ Feel. Not only am I able to survive(Runes plus Tool Kit, along with the Hidden Flask, Inertial Converter, and Self-Regulating Defenses…built in Elixirs!), but to wag my finger at that pesky D/D Ele who thought his burst would wreck me. Overcharged Shot, Jump Shot(you IMMEDIATELY jump to where they are lying down, even with semi-self CC of OC Shot), Net Shot(for that vulnerability stack), Toolbelt Skills(for the Lightning strikes), drop Turret, Explode Turret….annnnnnnd Boom there goes the dynamite!
Is it just me, or are more people taking a step back when they encounter an Engineer roaming in WvW? I’ve noticed this. It seems that the Engineer is coming up into it’s own, thanks to a few dedicated builds that others have been gracious enough to share.
Fort Aspenwood, you say?
… Thinking about it…
O.O
Imagine a crapton of Engineers coming up on a Tower, AND ALL LAY DOWN MORTAR AT THE SAME kitten TIME!
lol…I thought it was funny because we here in the Engineer forums say the same thing
As with anything, if you work hard at it, you’ll get good at it. But, as always, there is one lesson to be learned:
“No matter how good you get, there will always be someone better than you.”
I was perusing the Elementalist forum because I had to make one based on Egg Shen from Big Trouble in Little China(little Asuran!), and was checking the D/D Ele to see what was up. He’s only lvl 3, but thus far it’s a blast(no pun intended).
Trust me I’m not hating on the Ele. I can handle them with my P/S Tool Kit/Net Turret.
I would say, by far, that these two classes have the most potential for the most fun because I love versatility, and enjoy these types of classes alot
LOL at button mashing…I find myself ‘swapping’ between kits more than anything.
Besides…D/D Eles are fun to fight! Of all the WvW fights I’ve been in, the Eles are the most memorable to me.
(edited by Ejiofor.4801)
Found this on the Elementalist forums…:
“While an elementalist does have some of the greatest potential in healing, utility, DPS, and tanking capabilities, there are its drawbacks. A user who plays as an elementalist has to work much harder to deliver the same results that other classes can perform.”
Thought it was funny.
Just throwing an idea out there. I talked to other people and they liked it for the most part. How about on friday, right before the reset, we have a “Say goodbye to Blackgate” celebration? All 3 servers will meet up in EB and have a joyous celebration and interserver 1v1s with the winner getting a prize and all sorts of kitten things before blackgate leaves us.
All about it. When and where? I want to try a new build
If so many people have noticed the amount of problems and bugs the Engineer has, then why would this be a ‘learn to play’ issue?
Learn to play…I hate that phrase. Really, I do. With other classes, if you make a mistake, you get a ‘reset button’. With Engineer, you have to be PERFECT.
I’ve had some great moments, and I’ve had some moments where I get outplayed. I’ve also had moments where I “Back off”, when I see an upleveled player try and take me down(I don’t know why I do it, I just do).
With each new build I try there have been ups and downs.
I don’t play to ‘own’, or anything like that. I am an average player, that occasionally shows up on the highlights reel.
e.g. came across a Ranger who was up against a Warrior, Guardian, and Necro. Rushed right in to help out. He dropped, but I managed to drag those three away from him, bringing them in close to some Eagle Griffons in WvW. That leveled the playing field. I made sure that they were too occupied with me and the Griffons. When one tried to leave to finish the Ranger off, I YOINKED him back with Magnet. Sure enough, that Ranger was up and giving me his Pet, Longbow and AoE that I needed(that Guardian was giving me alot of hell!). He thought my survivability was “Amazing”. Wasn’t anything like that. I replied “I got lucky”, because his Ranged Attacks saved my kitten . It was teamwork, plain and simple.
But I understand there are frustrations with the bugs associated with this class. There have been times when I’ve had these issues during a critical moment and I just do this face :/ . My FT shoots sideways, or up in the air, while I’m trying to burn someone down, or they are close range and my FT misses. That’s annoying.
Good with the bad. It happens.
My advice?
Play to have fun. Try out other builds that are just crazy (e.g. I tried Snow Leopard Form with my Norn Engineer and ran down a D/D Ele. I eviscerated that little Asuran. That was nothing short of nasty, and fun!).
BTW, I use D/D Ele as an example because, aside from Thieves, I encounter ALOT of them in WvW.
This track right here sums up how I feel about the fighting between BG/SoR/TC these past few weeks.
Yes it’s on my playlist.
In ZvZ, I tend to Elixir B → Magnet → Prybar→Static Shot→ Thwack, Whack, Smack →Dodge→ Charge forward to the nearest Warrior and use Gear Shield…Wait for a few seconds while the Warrior goes ROFLCOPTER, then Prybar again.
And, on cue, a D/D Ele will do their…Whatever they do…thankfully Static Shield and Gear Shield counter their craziness nicely. And, as usual, they will run miles away.
I’m always on the lookout for my fellow teammates in WvW, keeping an eye on them. I see one drop I run over, toss Elixir S, and do a rez. Usually people will come help. After enough gather I will charge into a zerg to keep focus on me and away from people who are being rezzed. It’s habit
Ooooh couple of things… is that an album?
And …your signature….I always wondered if I was the only one that enjoyed that movie.
I wish GW2 would let us multi server like some other games. I would love to have fun with TC on the PvE/RP side of things but I love my guild to much to leave.
I think a bunch of RP guilds on TC would love to have some cross server RP events. They’re fun! My guild, BIG, is just me, because I love Big Trouble in Little China so much. My main guild is Kjarten Homestead (KJAR), which is, I believe, the most prominent all Norn Guild in TC. Some great people in (KJAR).
Welp. Back to work. Make money. Buy Dog treats.
Great fights these past two nights, BG and SoR! Lots of back and forth. WvW is so much fun when it’s challenging. You guys are animals.
Glad to have you as opponents.
Now where did I put my Prybar?
For some Blackgate players:
I honestly do not know why Blackgate server want to ruin their reputation leave T2 with such a bad impression. It has been fun all along, fair play was there until Tarnish Coast joined T2. For some unknown reasons you are helping them out. I know this because I was there when IoJ was there and this never happened.
I do not know enough Tarnish Coast so maybe this is their tactics where ends justify the means but I do know that BG is better than this.
Hopefully you care enough to do the right thing, no more crowbars to the knee cap please.
Wait…BG did WHAT?? WTF? LOL
Seriously. Lighten up. No conspiracy against SoR….
Or is there?
So. Much. Of. Teh. Rage.
Seriously.
I don’t understand why people get all worked up. It is what it is.
For real.
I just laugh, have fun, and roll with it. Something we can all do easily
And for your listening pleasure, here’s some fine music!
I have been monkeying around with Builds, and tried out this build for WvW roaming. Swapping Utilities and Weapons between runs with a small group or zerg happens often. Sieging I’ll drop Mortar, and swap to Grenades for Wall AoEs.
It’s an attempt at a hybrid of good, solid survival with consistent damage. Still trying it out. Had one encounter while roaming that was long, but I was able to win(description below).
I chose the net turret because I like to add an extra CC to the Supply Drop when I run into people(and to compliment Sitting Duck) I kept the Superior Runes of the Dolyak for suvivability, with half my trinkets being Soldier’s and Berserker’s.
Just got out of WvW and ran into a Hammer Warrior(I’m interested in learning how to take video, but I’m not sure how). Started off with Box of Nails, Magnet, then Prybar. Swapped to Pistols and popped Glue Shot then Blow Torch, followed by Net Turret. Dodges, and swapping back and forth between Tool Kit and Dual Pistols kept my vigor up (Speedy Kits plus Invigorating Speed). Lots of kiting until my Magnet recharges, along with shield. He got too close, I blocked or Prybarred him. Depending on the situation, I usually drop Supply Crate in the middle of a fight if I find myself needing that little advantage.
EDIT: I see this is a bad link. If you are still interested in the build, just copy and paste the link in the browser. Sorry about that
(edited by Ejiofor.4801)
It’s definitely not just you.
I’m an average player, but when I see an Ele coming at me in WvW, I automatically know he/she is a Dagger/Dagger.
I fought one for quite awhile, and the others I was with stood back (same with the D/D Ele). It was BRUTAL. I run with a TankCAT build, and swapping between Static Shield and my Tool Kit was the only thing that kept me alive, while popping Elixir B and Elixir S as well). At one point, I almost had him cold DEAD. Then…
FWOOSH! Super LIGHTNINGBALLFLYAWAYSPEEDOFLIGHTBBQCHICKENINVULNERABLEIMMUNEWTF and he’s miles away….
Then comes back…and does it all over again.
Mesmers…I don’t even bother anymore. If they run away, I don’t chase. Same with Thieves.
It seems that almost every class has a SNES RESET BUTTON, in that if things aren’t going their way they’ll run and regen in a matter of seconds, while you wait for your healing skills and whatnot to recharge JUST IN TIME for that D/D Ele or Thief(these are the two classes I see do a constant COMBAT RESET) to try and ROFLSTOMP you.
When I think of the Turrets, I think of these. Not that they would ever be this devastating, but we can have a wish list…
(edited by Ejiofor.4801)
LOL! So true, buddy
I just realized I failed to mention a couple of other guilds regarding Commanders and outstanding guidance and leadership…
BLNT (Better Luck Next Time) and AL (Absolute Legends). You guys deserve props as well
(edited by Ejiofor.4801)
More WvW music to pump my fellow Toasters up!
I think everyone who plays an Engineer would LOVE to be able to customize his/her Toolbelt Skills. As you said, this HAS GOT TO BE. Period. This would solve most of our viability issues. This also goes with ANet’s philosophy of the Engineer always being prepared!
Med Kit would be the problem, though. Perhaps equipping the Healing Utility(Turret, Elixir H, or Med Kit) automatically takes up that first slot in the F1-F4. I would not see this as an issue. The other three slots, F2-F4, are yours to do with as you please!
My build would run something like this:
Toolbelt skills… F1:Bandage Self(again, F1 Slot automatically takes the Healing Utility compliment) F2: Launch Personal Battering Ram F3: Super Speed F4: Net Attack
Rifle/Tool Kit build, with Med Kit, Elixir S, Elixir B, Tool Kit and Supply Crate/Mortar.
(I like to control the circumstances I’m in regarding a fight in WvW, so I try to utilize ALOT of CC)
As far as Turret Detonation, just remove it. Too often our Turrets melt in a matter of seconds anyway, so that function is really worthless(to me, at least). Just have it explode when the turret runs it’s cycle.
I believe that this change would not make us OP. From reading several other threads, this seems to be what all Engineers want, and need.
Facepalm I’m having so many brainfarts. I keep forgetting about those
That’s a good point regarding the other Utility Skills.
Right on. I was considering uninstall/reinstall… hehe…At least I’m not the only one
Hobbling Rune…along with Box of Nails makes sense. With the the 10% increase in Cripple Duration…how does that translate with the 2 seconds? I’m not good with Math, but it doesn’t seem like alot…
I’ll try anything, though.
Hey there! I have a P/S build, and slotted my Pistol with the Superior Sigil of Intelligence, and my Shield with Superior Sigil of Force.
When I swapped to my Tool Kit, and hit a player in WvW with Pry Bar, I didn’t see the ‘red splash’ that denotes a critical hit with the Pry Bar. It did, however, ‘splash red’ with the Thwack.
I don’t know if I’m doing something SERIOUSLY wrong, or my installed game client isn’t accepting certain aspects of the game.
At any rate I’m all about trying out the Kung Kitten Build you posted. I tend to use the Rocket Boots, as I like Kicking someone in the face and setting them on fire, right after which a pry bar to the face seals the deal
Kerithlan.1659 wrote this…
“I wouldn’t consider myself a regular, but I used to put in at least 14 hours a week defending EB. I simply haven’t had as much time to play the past few weeks (I’m not even at home right now while posting this), and as such when I do log in it’s to meet up with the randoms I’m unfamiliar with in TCBL (which usually needs the most help).
I would assume that there are many other puggers in the same boat that I’m in, and that what we’re seeing is a lack of direction caused by too many unfamiliar faces and too many new faces paired with a lack of our usual leadership."
Apologies. My quoting skills suck. And I just wanted to highlight what you talked about here
I am thinking that the unfamiliar faces in TC WvW is due to the fact that there are some who are just now getting into this super-duper fun aspect of the game, and are primarily PvE. A guildmate joined me for her first dive into WvW last night in EB, and I helped her out, told her about the basics(siege, zergs, towers, etc). She found it intense(as it should be), and did quite well. I believe she is on the verge of being hooked, hehe.
I for one took forever to get into WvW. Tried it the first month, took a little time off, then started to get involved more and more because I wanted to contribute, in whatever capacity I could. Since, I have learned ALOT from my fellow Toasters, as well as our opponents YB, CD, and FA…and more recently SoR and BG. Without fail, I have done very little PvE(I used to loathe any type of PvP) since playing WvW
Our Commanders are awesome. They are a dedicated few who take ALOT of responsibility(TV, PiNK, Shadow Legion, just to name a few), and ALOT of heat. They have consistently showed direction, and to new players entering WvW with little to no experience, their guidance has been remarkable. I couldn’t do it. I’m too lazy
At any rate the past two weeks have been awesome. Just a fantastic time all around!
Oh, and for those in EB OW RPing with me while I did the cliche ‘Last Stand’ Speech, y’all are fun! Have to do it again!
Regards,
The Old Man
what everyone is saying is that the engineer class is in a really bad spot, pretty much on everything right now.
that the engineer needs a buff on everything. a buff on our traits, on our damage, cooldowns, conditions and utilities.
Exactly.
At times, in WvW, I feel I have to be PERFECT in order to fend of an incoming attack. Make one mistake and you get wrecked. Other classes seem to have this “OH kitten” button that lets them leave the combat and hit the ‘reset’ button. We don’t. We have to sit there and wait(or, for example, try to catch that flying lightning ball/invulnerable Ele, which I don’t, because it’s pointless, as they are back to full health in a matter of seconds) to see if the opponent will come back, praying our Elixirs and abilities recharge fast enough for the next attack.
Is anyone else having issues with Elixir B? The only thing it seems to do is clear conditions when I have it traited with Cleaning Formula 409. Also, Retaliation seems to be in a ‘not working’ mode, as in, once I imbibe Elixir B, the person tagging me (right after a Confusion with Pry Bar) isn’t taking any damage when he attacks.
I was playing on my mesmer and elementalist today and I fought so many engis today (seems like new FOTM) And they can apparently use a wrench (is this hacks?) I thought they can only use rifle and pistol and shield. And he used this skill on me and hit me for 16k dmg and I died instantly, faster than mesmer shatter burst (which is pretty UP atm)
I know you devs dont give many engi answers but please nerf this ridiculous class.
Also make slick shoes a 120 second CD, that skill is the most OP rez and stomp interupt.
