Maybe we should stop bringing up the drama and just say GG see you next time.
It was a good game this week (Probably better for those that don’t read these forums).
I want to thank the Darkhaven players this week for bringing the best out of us.
I want to thank the Sorrows Furnace players for still trying, the small skirmishes I ran into were great fun.
Most of all I want to that Sanctum of Rall for showing great teamwork and determination.
I’m not going to post in this thread any longer. Good luck, Have fun & see you next time.
Anyone can make an alt on their own server, stage a conversation like that and screen shot it for propaganda. Whoopidee doo

Thanks for house sitting 8D
We ninja’d your garrison while you assaulted Dreaming Bay tonight. Right under your nose. I’m expecting accusations of hacking because of how quickly we took it. Luckily I recorded the whole thing.
Good night all. When life keeps giving you lemons.. make lemonade.
Good fight tonight from everyone. We painted the mists blue for a while there and it looks like we ruffled some duck feathers. Can someone post an updated map in a couple of hours? I’d love to see what happens in the next few hours while I’m sleeping. Just as I logged off it looked like some Red and Green were starting to creep back.
If stonemist wasnt so easy to capture it would be the ideal position for a portal to another underworld dungeon such as this.
The entrance to Darkness Falls was in a PvE zone and was locked until your side gained access to it. That was a big part of its genius.
Zenimax Online Studios are highly likely to be planning something like this with The Elder Scrolls Online (Led by Matt Firor from DAOC). They’ve already announced it will be tri-factional warfare in Cyrodiil with homelands off-limits. I wouldn’t be surprised if they have a DF style dungeon too.

If someone was going to transfer why would they transfer to a mid tier is beyond me. This is rumour and nothing more. You will probably see more people from SoR as the next few weeks progress and more people hit 80. I know of a lot of players that just didnt want to do WvW without being 80 first despite my attempts to encourage them to join in the fun.
I’ve actually suggested a 3.5 day match up previously. 3.5 days would give us two different start times a week which would cater to more than a singular time slot and give us a decent size match without resorting to the 24 hour speed dating that we had at launch.
I look forward to seeing Kaineng rising through the ranks. You guys are the underdogs that got a late start. I hope to see you fight Sanctum of Rall sometime in the future. You guys have a great attitude and I hope you can maintain it and rise above.
Please give us spvp gear progression. 10% difference from baseline-best.

I just wish WvW had the same equalised gear as sPvP and a glory progression.
The grass is always greener I suppose.
Loving the match, though I am left to wonder why it has turned around so sharply and suddenly. I know SoR has improved a lot, it’s really quite impressive, but have they really improved that much from an organizational standpoint? Is it more activity in WvW? More players in that server in general? I’m asking SoR players in specific what they’ve noticed that has changed.
I do love this current matchup, but I’m afraid atm it’s not longer competitive. When Darkhaven was top dog at least day time was very competitive. Now, Darkhaven dominates like 2-6am PST, rest is SoR, not much competitiveness anymore T.T.
It is a large influx of transfers. Third week playing SoR, played against them in beta, the volume of people out there has increased dramatically this week and there are a bunch of guilds I have never seen before running in large packs.
Yay for free transfers!
No, it’s not. But you keep telling yourself that if it helps you sleep at night.

I spoke to a few of the guys I play with from our peak (same peak as you 2-6am pst). What I could gather is after you guys couldn’t breach SoR Garrison after several attempts things started to quiet down but our guys stayed up a little later and took back. That was a great battle last night, I’m regretting going to bed early now as I missed your final push on Garrison with the siege golems. Overall it was a good night, I think we might have just stayed up a bit later than you guys.
I put the word out to find out if we had any new faces on our side after 7am PST but from everything I’ve heard back it was just our off-peak guys staying up later than usual.
Don’t give up though, we still have two days of good fighting ahead of us and you guys have been the best fight we’ve had so far. I have to say, having you make it into our champion room in Hills keep and Garrison and beating you back has given us a huge boost to morale. I’m sure you have had similar fights turn around as well. The defense victories are always the most memorable for me.
@ Actium
Not during US or Oceanic times afaik. I did notice that between 6am-1pm Pacific (when I’m sleeping) that we took a large chunk of land back. This period of time is when most US players are working or at school and when most Aussie/NZ/Azn players are sleeping. My only guess is that maybe we have some new EU players, maybe it’s school holidays in the US or our Oceanic guys & girls are staying up past their bedtime. Something has definitely changed in the past 24 hours but I can’t say I’ve noticed any new guilds or seen any new faces during my peak playing times
When I logged off last night around 11pm AEST Darkhaven were leading by around +40pot, when I woke up I checked the score 7 hours later SoR had taken over the majority and was leading at around +470pot and Darkhaven had 2 x supply camps and 1x tower. I have no idea who’s in WvW at that time though.

I know the evading 4x in a row is used as an example but I just want to inform you all that a Thief can with the correct skill and traits dodge more than 4x in a row. I’ve used this build before using 15 points in acrobatics and a signet.

Squad commanders can find out who is in their squad, how much supply each squaddie has and has a total supply/squad member count available to them.
Just in case anyone is unaware of the above command
Good luck with your recruiting guys. Hope it works out.
believe nothing you hear and only half of what you see. It seems we are seeing psychological warfare and propaganda at its best.

Separate topic of WvW. Speaking as a representative of ITM we really enjoy WvW against SoR and DH. Lot of Fun Vsing ViG from SoR and GSCH from DH. Those are the 2 guilds that I have noticed from each that have been contesting us the most. Other than your night cappers ZZZZ. They even named their guild as a nightcapper guild :P Anyways, Hopefully we get our kitten together and catch up abit for the end of the week.
[GSCH]Gaiscioch are from Sanctum of Rall not Darkhaven.
The server is named after one of our members Roger ‘Oldroar’ Rall.

Good night tonight. Wish I could have been on for longer.
Nice to see SF making a comeback too. Keep it up guys, don’t give up.
It’s been fun, I just wish the glitching didn’t have to sour the experience for both sides.
Cowered may be too strong a word, although the line between cowering and demoralised is thin imo
(edited by Elthurien.8356)
We’ve always had off peak players, we just took a little longer to organise a formidable force. Darkhaven gave us motivation to make a stand. Sorrows Furnace cowered while we fought back.
I haven’t noticed any new guilds in WvW SoR side. I just assumed they (SF) lost heart after fighting the same opponents two weeks in a row
What else are WvW players going to spend gold on? once you are geared your only expenses are repairs, waypoints, buying siege and upgrades. I rarely have over 2g but the money I spend is money well spent.
It’s a mystery.
Given that Arena.Net had to halt digital sales shortly after launch I would say that they were successful for the initial stage. How many people stick around is anyones guess.
They also run a very different business model compared to subscription or most F2P MMOs. GW2 is buy to play much like their predecessor GW which was very successful. I know that I personally love the game and the world they have given us. Other people may disagree, some may outright hate the game but every gamer has different tastes. My server is still going strong and everyone I know are still having an amazing time and its been a month after launch already. I doubt I could ever go back to the everquest style MMOGs after playing this. I will probably only play GW2, BF3 and a few single player games now. The great thing is, I can still try new MMOs when they come out and not have to juggle more than one subscription.
I don’t believe they need regional servers in all honesty. We deal with the latency fine playing on US servers from the southern hemisphere. Not for WvW, PvE or sPvP.
The only time I can think latency would really matter is if/when sPvP tournaments start this whole eSport thing. Even then, I’m not really one to comment on that as I have no intention of doing it.
Quit the public accusations please. There is an email for exploit: exploits@arena.net
Keep it civil, keep it clean and keep it on the battlefield.
…And try not to die in yellow snow.
I just want to thank Darkhaven for an awesome battle tonight and Sanctum of Rall for staying organised and working together.
Come on guys.. can’t we keep things civil for once?
I had a kitten blast tonight for a good 4 hours straight across multiple maps.
Highlight of the night was defending Elthurien Hills (That’s Right… ELTHURIEN HILLS) from Duckhaven and leading a small 15man force in to flank at the last minute, then forcing all the ducks back out to the lake where they belong. I’ve never ever seen a comeback like that in this game. Absolutely amazing. To push you guys out of the champions room and straight back out the keep. Great fight from both sides in my opinion. I don’t even care about the orb ninja because I had a kitten blast.
Thanks all.
Mad half-naked Norn… I will find you one day.
There should be a grub-like boss near every keep. The grub is seriously amazing at splitting the player base in WvW. If all three keeps in EB had one we could all enjoy those facepalming moments when you lose 50% of your zerg as they beat their heads against the grubs endless supply of hit points.
Darkhaven is currently the server I love to hate because every offpeak fight is an uphill battle. well done DH keep it up
Of course it is. They won’t fight you during peak. SoR is too strong.
What happens during US peak time is of no concern to me. I am one of the few SoR off peak players and I welcome the challenge of Darkhaven, even if I lose every night. I love being the underdog.
That being said, if Darkhaven is such a problem during off peak then maybe SF and SoR need to consider an off-peak treaty and hit DH from both angles instead of fighting each other. I think there could be some fun to be had if we think outside the box a little. Of course, I’m not proposing a treaty, but if I log on tonight and SF and SoR just happen to ignore each other while only attacking Darkhaven assets…… ……well..
I’m actually in defence of Darkhavens offpeak crew. They don’t take their territory unopposed at all, I am in WvW every night of the week (SoR) and we give it to them as much as we can. They are more organised plain and simple, their server actually listens to their leaders and they strike multiple locations at once throughout the night. SoR tend to wander aimlessly without leadership during offpeak and I would attribute this to the servers offpeak crew being more casual in their approach in comparison to DH.
Darkhaven is currently the server I love to hate because every offpeak fight is an uphill battle. well done DH keep it up
Thanks for hijacking and killing a thread to recruit more people from MY time zone to MY server. Keep your nightcap drama out of here please. Region locking fixes nothing. Oceanic players don’t have any servers.
Why can’t they just remove haste/quickness and be done with it?
We’re not the only profession that can absolutely destroy people with quickness.
Pistol whip and Heartseeker don’t need adjustments, haste does.
makes me sad…how do i reach those??
You need to take garrison to get those trebs.
That’s the advantage of holding garrison, you can assault bay keep indefinitely.
Good game today. Glad I had the day off work.
Lets keep it fun for the week. It’s a rare thing to get matched up so well, we may be the luckiest servers in GW2.
I am glad our guards are providing a worthy and rewarding challenge for your zerg.
Haha, what zerg bud? When I log on in the afternoon (My time) it’s after midnight PDT. We have no queue and no zerg. Just a dedicated few trying to rally the mercs and PvE players roaming for their map completions.
I disagree that Darkhaven is a disorganized zerg at night. You guys are very well disciplined and are able to field a quick response group within a few minutes of us attacking one of your assets.
It’s definitely frustrating, but like I said earlier, it’s a 24/7 game, We give as much as we get. Thanks for explaining that you guys still get rewarded with much experience and karma, I guess I overlooked that because levels/karma don’t mean anything to me any more. The incentive is there for you to turn the maps red even when there is minimal opposition.
Overall though, I don’t want there to be bad blood between our servers. Tempers can get hot but kitten do I love fighting you guys. Lets keep it fun for the week. It’s a rare thing to get matched up so well, we may be the luckiest servers in GW2.
4am PDT/6am EST/9pm AEST
Whatever small force we managed to muster together was insignificant. Sorrow’s Furnace didn’t even bother showing their face in the Borderlands tonight. Sanctum tried to fight, but we were heavily outnumbered. We can’t take anything when your defense out numbers us and we can’t defend when you take everything else unopposed and then zerg Garrison where we made our last stand.
I’m not complaining though. It’s a 24/7 game. I just don’t know how you can enjoy taking the same towers with minimal opposition each night.
This Darkhaven/Sorrows Furnace/Sanctum of Rall matchup is awesome.
I’m finding myself cheering for Darkhaven now as they’ve just snuck up from behind and are only 1k away from first place in an overnight assault.
Only 15k difference between first place and last.
I want another week….
I think with two weeks, the scores would just widen further. I honestly think even after having such an awesome week of WvW, that bi-weekly match ups would be ideal.
Starting at 7 pm Friday afternoon and finishing at 7 am on the Monday. Then Monday goes through to Friday in reverse.
- Bi-Weekly would mean tighter scores but wont feel like the 24 hour speed dating we had at launch
- At 3.5 days per match the start/finish times are staggered catering to more than one time zone
- A 7pm PDT Start/Finish on Friday means when people get home from work/school they can enjoy the grand finale AND the grand opening for the match.
- A 7am PDT Start/Finish on Monday accommodates the shift workers, emergency workers, insomniacs, students and the off-peak players that generally miss the Friday rush.
As I mentioned in the end of WEEK score thread, it has been an amazing week. This is the kind of game where it just doesn’t matter whether I win or lose because every point was hard fought and I had fun every minute I was there. Well done to everyone involved.
Add friendly fire to siege. Wont happen then
Just imagine using a Catapult on your own keep door.. may as well open the door for them.
Seriously guys, you now have official word that this is not an issue from Arena.Net. Stop arguing the point. The decision is made. Get over it. Move on. Accept the decision. Learn to have fun. You won’t always win. You may even get flogged. Sometimes more than once. Probably a lot more than once. If you want fair, you can always PvE, sPvP, find a game that suits your needs. There are plenty out there.
@Xieron
That is a great solution ImO that follows the vision ANet has given us.
The only problem i have with power increases or other essentially AA progression is that it is no different from gear progression. Gaining +15% damage or +20 vitality is no different from creating another tier of gear. The reason I like Xierons’ suggestion is because it is not a balance nightmare, the abilities don’t increase overall power or defense of the individual but they give options that promote teamwork, which is Imo the very foundation of WvW.
Agreed. I would also be more inclined to pay in Badges rather than silver or gold.
Like those PvE events where you give the NPC apples or something, players could take a tower then hand in <insert WvW related thing like toenails or claws>, bar fills up, NPC upgrades once the bar is full.
Edit: If there was some form of gathering DE to upgrade, people might actually work together to upgrade and be in the vicinity of the tower/keep for defending instead of just capping and zerging to the next point.
(edited by Elthurien.8356)
I like Revenants idea. +1 from me
I just think ANet needs to place a WvW related objective in those areas. For example, if there was a relic similar to orbs that could be captured and placed into a Tower (not keep) that increased the Towers points by +10. This would give PvPers a reason to go there, making it a bad place for botters because all three teams will want the relics and kill any botters hanging around.
Another option would be to have the Centaur and Skritt camps as a defendable objective. Similar to a tower or supply camp but with a different flavor.
Or you could make them mercenary camps, beat Centaurs into submission to gain Skritt favor or vice-versa. The speak to the Skritt or Centaur chieftain and direct them where you want them to attack or defend. Gaining Centaur favor might spawn a Centaur engineer and treb team to attack a nearby enemy keep(attack) or Trap (defend) nearby friendly towers or keeps. Gaining Skritt favor might spawn Skritt Sappers or Thieves to go bomb (attack) or trap (defend) a nearby enemy keep or tower.
Currently there is no reason to go there unless you are after the skill point/farming for repairs or you are botting. Give WvWers a reason to go there and the botters will go elsewhere.

I love how in every single matchup posted, the #1 servers outscored the #2 and #3 servers combined.
The SF/DH/SoR wasn’t. Our match up was ideal this week
