2 new servers opened up today. If there are any Tier 1 guilds still looking for shorter Queues and a challenge to give these new servers a kickstart. People love nothing more than an underdog new server climbing from last place to first. This is your chance.

Downed state/revive & rally are fine imo. Reviving after downed state has ended (ie; being stomped) is what I don’t like.

Yeah we don’t really want transfers from anywhere tbh no matter what rank they came from. We’ll welcome them to the community sure, but if they transfer off for whatever reason, they wont be missed. I know that GSCH and all of our SoR guilds will always be here and that’s all that matters to me. I’m disappointed that some Yaks transferred here when they should be out there with TOG.

Btw I noticed a player from [Thai] on Yaks Bend last night, maybe you guys will get some top tier transfers too. Since the Titan Alliance split, they might start looking to servers like Yaks, Nsp, Darkhaven and Gates. I don’t think we have room for anymore on Sanctum though, I don’t really want to be a top tier server with 5 hour queues when I can have just as much fun in the mid tier with 1 hour queues.

Just like Yaks, we only want dedicated Rallers here.

I had a lot of fun eating grub last night. After first joining Yaks borderland and seeing TOG at lakes tower and taking out a small group at our spawn around midnight PST I thought we were in for a good fight. I definitely want to give props to TOG for still getting amongst it against all odds. Stay true guys, you have a never give up attitude that is commendable. I decided to use the time working on my defence skills and gathering resources & was forced to eat grubb on EB becuse the little guy with the pink marshmallow afro demanded i eat some.

Tonight will be bot farming night for me, I hate bots so I’m going to spent at least 2 hours tonight making sure they are wasting their time.

I look forward to meeting DH again. To those that seem to think we are winning because of transfers, you really don’t know our server that well. DH knows us, DH gets us, and thats why we have such a great rivalry with them. We both have the utmost respect for each other imo, we both have a fight till the end attitude and that will never change regardless of who transfers to us or away from us.

WvW would be fine if they ended free transfers when they said they would. All of the data they are gathering from WvW is pointless until they stop transfers. Every week servers that lose matches are losing guilds, even some winning servers are losing guilds looking for greener pastures. Until this stops WvW will never be balanced.

I do have to admit that I am enjoying the spectacle of the new guilds trying to organize a server which is almost militant in it’s disorganization.

It’s interesting that this is your perception of things considering SoR has been working great together in WvW for the last 4 weeks. Ever since our match with Darkhaven and Sorrows Furnace we have come together as a server. Has it all changed so much since Sunday night? I wouldn’t know I haven’t played more than ten minutes since about 2am Sunday morning. How does the rest of SoR see things? I’m very interested to understand what’s going on right now.

New guilds trying to organise a server that is militant in it’s disorganisation? That doesn’t sound like the Sanctum of Rall that I know and love, it sounds like a new problem, maybe from people that are resisting change or maybe from people that are pushing it. I don’t have an opinion as yet.

I’m not sure whether that was sarcasm or not. That screenshot shows ten SoR attacking a defended tower with no upgrades. I did count them too. That’s only ten people. What is your point?

Elthurien, several RvR-focused guilds with a long history together from WAR/DAOC had wanted to join up on the same server, but ended up splitting choices. Tempest Wolves, Irony and most of the DAOC vets chose Jade Quarry while Vigilance, Knight/War Templars and Reveille le Lion decided on SoR to avoid the anticipated queues (and because Fog invited us).

I believe their intent was to get away from the massive queues on Jade Quarry and join up with the rest of us. It has nothing to do with any of the recent successful wins on SoR.

As for balance, it will come through moving up in tiers.

I understand that Kiamar and prior to launch I was hoping that they all rolled on Sanctum of Rall and was actually disappointed when Fog told me that all of the WAR/DAOC guilds were going to Jade Quarry instead.

I don’t want to sound like I’m complaining, I welcome the new guilds with open arms, I’m just a little apprehensive or concerned with what it might bring. I understand their reasons for leaving JQ, especially with all the band wagoners moving from HoD to JQ this week. You can’t hate me for showing a little concern for our community. I’m not worried about the Tempest Wolves or the Caedas Guilds, I’m worried about the groupies that follow them and leech off of their success. I’m worried about the same people they are trying to escape that cause 5 hour queues on Jade Quarry.

I hope the above response to Kiamar explains the concern. I’m not worried about 30m queues, I play off-peak. I’m just concerned that the problem you are trying to escape is going to follow you here. I’m glad you guys are here, and I’m glad more people are spreading out of the top tiers. I already welcomed you all the server about 2 pages back, I see no need to do it again.

It’s unfortunate, we transfer here with intel of Yak’s bend camping Pks and owning everything, 2 days later theres no one to fight. Sigh………

It’s cool and all that you guys wanted to move down to a lower ranked server but I don’t think the mid tiers needed the help in all honesty. While I welcome guilds wanting to roll here, I think Tempest Wolves may have been better off going down to Borlis Pass or Anvil Rock where things actually are still unbalanced. Our last three weeks have been extremely balanced and well fought for all involved, now the balance has shifted in an extreme way and it’s no fun for anyone, not SoR, not YB, GoM nor those of you that transferred here. I understand you did this with good intentions, as have some of the HoD&JQ guilds that move to other mid tier servers, but it may be doing more harm than good. I guess we’ll find out over the coming weeks. I just hope the parasites (bandwagoners) that ruined JQ and HOD for you guys don’t follow you like a plague and harm our community.

This is the first night in about 3 weeks where I logged out after 10m. I just don’t have any incentive to play GW2 without WvW and there’s no point WvW when we own everything.

I think three and a half day matches would be better.

• First game starts 6am Saturday Morning and Finishes 6pm Tuesday Night.
• Second game starts 6pm Tuesday Night and finishes 6am Saturday morning.

Leader Mara and Miasmic for SoR. When they are on I don’t even need to command unless I’m leading a small raid in support of them. I love all of our Commanders though. Even those without the title deserve some recognition for their effort to support the server as a whole. There is a little guy that has cotton candy for a head who I like to nom on. Alpacca, Bavragor, Flaming Tango, and many others (my own guild commanders of course).

Leader Mara is just a powerhaus, there are rumours that she never sleeps and survives on caffeine and the tears of the conquered.

I can’t speak for all of our commanders but I personally pulled an all nighter in WvW for our final push last match. Went to sleep at about 430am my time and the servers reset at 10am AEST. I logged back on for an hour around 5pm and Yaks were dominating, so I decided to take a 24 hour break, played some XCom and came back on Sunday. EPIC, HF and CDS were already well on the way to taking revenge when I logged back on so I just organised my raid to support their plans.

I don’t fault Yaks when they put up a fight they have beaten us on many occasions, but you obviously under estimate our organisation if you think we are just a zerg. You guys might be greater when you work together, but we always work together. Slow and steady wins the race said the tortoise to the hare.

It is obviously numbers. Yaks already showed Friday night that with the same man power as SoR and GoM we would dominate. Yaks could easily be high ranking with more ppl.

Obviously. Why aren’t you dominating now then? Do you only play once a week?

Etsmith I highly disagree that SoR won by zerg. Sunday morning (midnight) we had at least three separate raids working on different objectives in SoR borderlands toward the same goal to take both AH and AB. To say this was just zerg is an insult as we do this time and again and we are only getting better at it. What may look like one zerg to you has been on numerous occasions no more than a 20man raid patrolling one section while our other raids strike key objectives, some with as little kitten or 10 people.

You say you send 5 people to an objective and they meet twenty, then maybe you need to split your larger force into better raid groups instead of relyng on 5 man groups and a zerg with 15 golems, try 15 man raid groups and less in the zerg. Learn to adjust to ever changing tactics, we are more than just one big serg with fair weather guilds.

I haven’t noticed any fair weather guilds transferring to SoR. I think we should be welcoming guilds like [CDS] Caedas Guild and [TW] Tempest Wolves with open arms. It’s true that our US population is full but we should never turn down people that want to join our community. Especially those that are active and genuinely helpful. As long as transfers treat our community with respect and leave their drama and egos behind they are quite welcome imo. CDS has proven to be a great addition to our community.

I completely disagree with crafting. Especially compared to WoWs crafting. GW2 is one of the best examples of crafting I have seen in an MMO to date. Wows crafting is atrocious and Rift is only slightly better. I guess it is a matter of opinion

I wanted to have a thief profession that didn’t use venoms at all (assassins use venom) or stealth for that matter. Which is why I don’t use them.

To he honest even I was a little dismayed after Yaks Alpha siege assault on our borderlands on Friday night. Then I realised that they just can’t possibly afford to do that every night. If a server pushes too hard out the gate they may just run out of steam. Moderation, determination and coordination (communication). props go to the many guilds on our server that work together, some of which stay up for ungodly amounts of time without sleep (Mara :p ). I love you all.

I must suck at playing a thief because for all the times I’ve supposedly 1 shot a target I have died three or four times attempting it. What many people fail to see (or they do see it but fail to add it to their QQ) is that thieves rarely one shot somebody from full health, but instead target those with 50% health or below to get the bonus damage. Thieves and Rogues in general are an opportunistic profession, the aim is to capitalise on your opponents weakness and eliminate the threat.

Best counter I have come across has been Bunker Guardian and D/D elementalists. A good D/D ele that plays their attunements can pop static shield when CC’d, AE knockback with earth attunement, switch back to air for another static shield and Dps.

For the record, I wasn’t crying, I really would love the added challenge of friendly fire. It would make things far more interesting from a tactical level.

The only problem I have is being able to revive someone after they have been stomped. Reviving from downed state is fine, but if you’re stomped you should be forced to respawn.

Rams can be placed back enough so that they are unaffected by catapults targeting the gate.

It would be great if all siege, keeps/towers and AoE were affected by friendly fire but It is not going to happen in my lifetime.

Anyone have a current update? I’m stuck in real life for another 7 hours. Nerf RL plx

Every MMO bar EvE Online and a handful of others have launched with a peak of activity and then declines after the first month, this is nothing new. It is usually caused by gamer burnout, where players will put ridiculous hours into a game for five or six weeks before finding themselves bored or disillusioned. The server high/full status pertains to PvE as well so some servers may find WvW less populated (especially when they start losing) but their server remains full or highly populated. I think GW2 is solid enough that they will continue to flourish for many years despite certain power groups jumping onto the next big thing.

Nicely played by all. Almost wish they would hide the scoreboard for the first weekend.

The scoreboard is part of the psychological war. It lures over confident servers into a false sense of security. It destroys morale of those without the will to fight. It fuels the fire of those that seek vengeance. If that map wasn’t red for most of friday night, we might not have fired up as much as we did.

We have UK and EU players on US servers too, and Asian, Latin and Oceanic. The difference is, we welcome them on our servers.

The thief I mentioned above was from YB… I think the tag he had was [TOG]

If it was the [TOG] Thief group I remember from last week, there was more than one
It might look like one Thief but there were probably 3 rotating Dagger Storm and moving in and out of stealth to confuse you. I ran into them last week and thought it was brilliant.

And for the Record.. I’ve known and played with TOG (The Older Gamers) for years. If this is the same group, they don’t hack. They are great guys and great players.
