[Suggestion] Not ONE should have to bear the costs for WvW upgrades

I think the upgrade should cost two resources, time and supply. Leave money out of it. I don’t care how much money I earn when I’m 80, I’m not putting 50 silver onto an upgrade that can be wiped out with the next zerg sneeze.
Our Night crew on Sanctum of Rall consists of about 20 Pugs, with the possibility of a 5 man guild group or two. Skirmish groups are great fun so long as we don’t run into Fort Aspenwoods main force. I don’t mind being outnumbered 2:1 but there seems to be little point in pushing kitten uphill when you know it’s just going to get overrun by zerg five minutes later. I wont waste my money or badges on flame rams and catapults against stacked servers. I’ll just chalk up a loss and enjoy the little things.
I do feel sorry for you guys as well, it must be pretty boring waiting for us to take a supply camp so you have something to do. It would be nice to have a few Oceanic/SEAsian guilds on Sanctum of Rall, I’m not going to go beg for them to transfer here.
I do find the Oceanic guilds that came up with the genius idea of stacking themselves over a few servers to be amusing. Must be fun playing the same servers all the time. To think there were servers complaining about Sanctum of Rall night capping last week. It’s definitely a numbers game.
I couldn’t bear to read the full OP sorry.
Do you reserve the right to Bear arms too?
Would you shave them?
You don’t need gold to buy a Siege Golem. Just spend Badges on them.
8 Siege Golems is merely 8 people that WvW enough to have badges to spend.
Pay to win is spending money to buy gems, convert to gold and buy a full Exotic set of Armor and Weapons. The difference between an 1-80 in masterwork or rares compared to an 80 in full exotic is massive.
I’ve been level 80 for well over a week now and I’m not even close to being bored. I don’t see how being 80 makes me an idiot or an addict though, I have a full time job and other responsibilities, I just manage my time well. I reached 80 by playing the game the way I wanted to play it. I enjoyed every minute and continue to enjoy it. I still have well over 40% of the world to explore as well.
Had no idea that speed running was a exploit. Next time am near the CM and see those folks again will take names and guild tags. Though am shocked to see several members of that mega guild [GSCH] engaging in such activities. I assumed powerleveling lower levels in a lvl 40 requirement dungeon would be a expliot as well?
How is speed running an exploit?
you cannot punish players by being efficient and working well together.
Bugging bosses is an exploit, speed running is not. [GSCH] members are not allowed to exploit games, we have a stellar reputation that we have every intention of keeping, especially where Anet are concerned since they named a server and NPC after one of our members. If any members are exploiting or caught exploiting they are dealt with accordingly. However, speed running a dungeon being an exploit? C’mon.

I understand your frustration because the puzzle is apparently required for your completion which is why I agree with you in that it just should not be required for PvE orientated completions. However, I do not agree that the puzzle should be removed at all. It doesn’t serve a purpose for WvW but it does serve a purpose for PvP players because it provides a nice little playground for those that like the added challenge of PvP with their Puzzles.
I would also like it to be separated from the Queue of the map it is located in so that players wanting to WvW arent loitering in Lions Arch because 20 players are in the puzzle wasting the most valuable resource in WvW (players). If Anet can resolve those three issues they will have happy players in all three camps, the PvErs wont need to go there, the ambushers can still have fun and the WvWers can have a full complement of players on their map.
I only suggested the puzzle be removed. Now if you read my previous posts, that the puzzle should be up-to-par to PvP standards and there fore should completely change the Puzzle to be a PvP environment Puzzle.
Traps are a good start but their needs to be more.
Well I can agree to that also, while i dont think it needs to contribute to WvW scoring, the map design could be tailored a little better to PvP with less
open air environment and more maze-like structure with choke points etc. I also think it would be better without siege deployment but thats because i feel it should be tailored toward a more ‘up close and personal’ PvP experience. Siege is a zerg countermeasure, not really required or wanted for the puzzle PvP.

Dont remove the puzzle, just remove the need for the achievment for PvE progress.
And please place the puzzle into a different Queue so valuable positions in those
maps arent wasted on people that arent contributing to WvW.
I have no problem as a melee Thief in dungeons, PvE or WvW. I use my utilities
to blind, stun and daze to completely avoid damage, If I get aggro I take measures to lose aggro and continue to melee while controlling my incomming damage with smoke and avoidance. Melee is more challenging but it is far more enjoyable experience because of this.
The puzzles in WvW shouldnt be requires for map completion, simple as that. WvW is a PvP zone, by entering WvW you are consenting to PvP. There is no such thing as griefing in WvW, if you dont like PvP and you enter WvW you are griefing yourself.
Then I might as well throw in the argument for people that don’t like, care, or bother with PvP, should remove the Puzzles since it is just but PvE idea, or remove them from the achievement list.
which is why i said in the post YOU just quoted that they should not be part of world map completion. Removing it from your PvE list of ‘must have’ completions. They should not be removed from WvW however as they are a way for us WvWers to get siege blueprints and a great source of PvP.
I dont want this to be an US vs Them arguement, I respect that you dont like PvP, thats fine with me, just dont try to dictate that this is YOUR PvE content because it is not (It’s in WvW for a reason, they have player controlled traps and choke points for a reason, it is by design)

Players that you accuse of griefing are there to PvP they are not griefing. If anything, you are griefing them by complaining about being PvPd in a PvP zone. If you dont like cooking, stay out of the kitchen.

I don’t know about you guys but I find shambling herds of walking dead much scarier than frenzied speedy undead. I would love to see Orr capture the feeling of Atlanta in ‘The Walking Dead’ or Romero’s Dawn of the Dead with herds of undead that shamble through the maps ‘quiet’ areas at regular intervals. Once the walkers catch the scent of the living the all start shambling toward them and all flock to the same area in the hope they get a feed. Currently I agree that the zones look fairly Structured mob placement fillig every gap they can find.
I do love the areas with farmers and nobles going about their daily tasks though. Nothing strikes more fear into the heart than undead poultry swarming over you.
Jumping puzzles in WvW zones were fully intended for PvP to happen. That is why the eternal battlegrounds has traps in it that players can activate. That is why the entrance to the Borderlands Puzzle is conveniently located at the end of a big fall (where you can be knocked back into the water). PvP happens, People like to PvP with surprise attacks and most especially, they like to kill PvEr’s that wander into PvP areas.
Those 6 guys camping that spot probably wait between 10-15m between encounters and they are not doing their Server any favors because they are wasting valuable resources (People are a resource in WvW, People that don’t contribute to defence, assault or control are a wasted resource)
Thief
not Theif
Thieves’
not Theives
Rogue
not Rouge
i thought the tooltip on shapechange tonics said not useable in WvW
I have enough of thieves that are completly invisible during the whole fight
in WvW

most mesmers have better invisibilty and misdirection options than thieves. Why all the thief hate?
Have you tried sPvP? WvW is just that world vs world vs world, if you’re more interested in player vs player there is structured PvP. Alternatively you could do what many of us do and form a small group of skilled players and move around the zergs taking smaller objectives and finding other like-minded enemies and have some really good 5v5 or even 5v10. I love this style as the zerg serves as a great diversion while we act as shock troops with flanking and commando tactics.
Try reducing all of your graphics settings to low and turn LOD to ultra. this sounds like a pop-in issue where your PC can’t process/draw fast enough.
Every night me and my Australian buddies get organised and take as much territory as we can, usually fighting two servers at once to achieve this. When I get home from work those darned Americans have taken it all back. (This is posted with humour and sarcasm)
There is more than One time zone in the united states and more than one side to this story, get organised, try to recruit more off peak WvW players to your server.
9 tailed strike blocks and then strikes it doesnt have an evade. Pistol whip already has evade and its incredibly easy to dodge if you save your stun breaker/dodge immediately after the stun. PW has quite a long cast animation and requires you to be in melee so i think its fine as is.
An extra blind is always helpful imo, I do think it would be better if it gave a swiftness buff though. Swiftness active and move speed passive would go hand in hand
There is several weapon combinations i would like to see thieves get aometime in the future.
dual swords
torch in either main hand or off hand
single weapon style for dagger, sword and pistol with a full 5 skills when offhand is empty
rifle
blind, aegis, retaliation, stun, daze, knockdown and knockback are all valid counters to heartseeker spam. Most HS cheesers dont have the skill to improvise when countered. It’s merely a Pug stopper
We need you. Sanctum of Rall needs you.
We have zero Queue’s for WvW after 12am PDT (5pm AEST)
What more could you want?
