I love the dialog in Divinity’s about the kids being arena fighters, “Through imaginary combat” always makes me laugh, I can’t help but think about the players who talk about being better at this game, as though being better at imaginary combat is really all that important and wonder if that dialog was included specifically for them.
WvW players would love to be able to salvage karma gear, would make it affordable to get Runes of Melandru for one thing.
Drop me a PM in game and I will be happy to play with you, you can just put my forum name into you friends list to find me. I am on Jade Quarry, but other than for WvW that does not matter, so long as we are both on NA servers.
That is a cost issue, based on the cost of rares versus the cost of exotics.
Hard to compare them, I played GW1 all the time until I got GW2 and now I play it all the time, not because I like it better, but because the population for GW1 is not there, making it harder to do things that take a group, well I could hero things, but some things are much better with a group or even require one.
May key farmers use them like this, would appear to be new players, but they know what they are doing.
Offer both, 100g soul bound, 300 gold account bound, if you have 3 soul bound pins you can turn them in for an account bound.
EU or NA?
It would help if you let people know if you are on an NA or EU server, people who are one the same type can join you.
The dungeon tracks give 4 chest with exotics, 3 weapon at 25%, 50% and 75% and an armor chest (1 piece you pick) at 100%. You also get to pick the weapon, so if you are just going to MF them 4 tracks will give you enough of a specific type for 3 flushes, or 1 track per with MF stones.
Experience scroll and 60 Tomes, less clicking.
If it makes you completely neutral, and blocks you from seeing other players it could work, otherwise people will tag up and use it to trail zergs and warn their team. I like the concept, particularly as a way to get those hard to reach spots that don’t flip that often, Ogre and Overwatch come to mind, but I am not sure how well this could be implemented without being abused.
You will earn many transmutation charges as you complete zones, so it should not be a problem getting them.
Gold or real money are the only ways to buy gems. You do get some in achievement chests, but not often. Those are the only ways I know of to get gems. The Gem Store has been rotating items on sale, so watch for it, it has been a month or so since character slots where discounted, so they might be coming around again.
Also when looking at crafting from a cost vs just buying point of view, remember that there are often items with the same stats that only drop as loot, which might be cheaper. The some of the named armor sets are an example. Light Dire stats are one example that I believe this is true with vs Jatoro’s armor.
There was one added in Wayfarer foothills and one in Gendarran Fields. Also, a WP in the 15-25 Norn zone (forget the name) and the 1-15 Charr zone, iirc.
The Chinese Living World is supposed to keep up to date with our own. Rebooting back to intact LA would be difficult and pointless, because everything else in the game meshes with it being destroyed.
Except the personal story.
And all the people walking around talking about going to LA or walking through the gate to get to the Mist Wars. Would have been nice to have some of the dialog updates if they were going to leave it destroyed this long, even if the plan is to rebuild.
This link is to a thread with a link to a Chinese advertisement for GW2.

The ingots used for jewelery is not used by the other professions.
You are correct, but I think it is usually cheaper to just buy them (~10×40 silver for T6mats and ectos + the T6 mats for the actual armor pieces).
Perhaps if you were just able to use the same amount of supply on a piece of enemy siege to acquire it as you would need to build one? Basically it would just save some blueprints. Or perhaps, combined with the ability to auto destroy your own siege, it would only cost 1/2 the normal supply to “capture”.
Exotic Armor is sold by Karma vendors in Orr, when their temples are open. It’s perfectly adequate for nearly everything in the game.
Well, that was silly of me, forgot to mention where/how to get that exotic. In addition to the above, badges of honor can be used for exotic gear (more stat choices than Orr) and dungeon tokens, just do some research and make sure to do dungeon(s) that give the stats you want. Both of those sources also offer exotic weapons. PvP reward tracks offer dungeon armor, although it is a slow way to get it, but it is not a bad option for getting dungeon weapons, with the same warning, make sure you are doing a track that gives the stats you want.
Ascended armor is the “best” but not a needed upgrade, also it is not available for purchase. Ascended trinkets are available for purchase for laurels or laurels/badges of honor. Ascended weapon and armors must be crafted, requires crafting level 500 and lots of gold, of looted.
That said, I would say just get exotic and if you have laurels of laurels/badges maybe get ascended trinkets since they will be account bound and usable by characters you create later.
I looked at some stats and I don’t see a good way to do the 4 that you listed, if you want to keep them in the same range. That said a mix of Soldier’s and Knights (PVT and PTP), will allow you to have those 4 stats, but vitality and precision will be lower.
Under my account > security is a list of all the authorized addresses, just delete them, then you will be prompted to enter the code the next time you log in. Checking that list periodically is a good idea anyway.
This would make things much easier in certain situations. If I’m looking for new boots I shouldn’t be forced to see the ones I cannot even equip. I am not sure why this isn’t the default.
If you know what the root name of the gear you’re looking for, 80 light is exalted for example, type that into the search bar before you look. This filters out weights and levels outside what you’re looking for. The reason it’s not the default is because you may be looking for armor, or weapons, that you may not be able to wear yet. Unfortunately, those “certain” situations can already be filtered for without adding a “one size all” function that will likely take months to get working correctly.
Also, something as simple as making sure you put in a specific level range can filter 90% of the stuff you dont want.
I would like to see it as well, and while using the armor name will filter for that set, it would be nice to be able to compare the prices between crafted and looted sets at various levels, particularly if you are planning on skinning so price is more important that the style.
Just mystic forge I believe.
I realize that you are open world PvE focused, but go run the train in EotM, more like a PvE train than WvW, get some Badges of Honor and get various armor sets, as suggested above, and see what works. Honestly though, if you are only going to do open world PvE you do not need ascended.
Yes
You could use crtl + v as a sort of macro.
I have never used one, but am I understanding that if you attach them to a white item the item is account bound? If so, assuming you want to keep it, it should still be possible to put it on a white, pick that up with the correct character and then salvage the rune off. As I mentioned, not sure if I am understanding the mechanics fully.
If I understand it correctly, about the only purpose for guesting is to get credit for a guild mission. If you join a guild doing a mission and are not from the same home world as the guild that started it, you need to guest to that home world to get the guild mission rewards. I am not sure about that, but I seem to recall having read it.
I mentioned this in another thread about the same thing, Arah boxes though. I would like to see no chest awarded, weapon or armor, just give the average cost of a piece of gear, about 300, tokens from tht dungeon. Let us buy what we want. That would be 1440 for the full path, including the 4 points you get 60 tokens.
One thing is that all the BL chest boosts and such could be added to the wallet. The ability to use them whenever wherever on whichever character might lead to them being used more, which could end up with people deciding they are not useless and possibly even buying some every now and again.
I hope the Brisbane thing happens and maybe we can do something about that WP in the north center of the map (forget the name) with its never ending stream of bandits.
I also think this would be a great thing, although at least with the skins being in the wardrobe now they can be used on multiple characters, making it less painful to buy an armor set for 1 or 2 pieces.
Just a wish that I felt like sharing, possibly you live somewhere that people are not free to just share their wishes, or where it is considered necessary to tell them that their wishes will never come true, sorry about that.
Never said I did not, and nothing in my original post sounded like me complaining, I was merely stating a wish, no real need for you to tell me that it is not going to happen, or why it is not going to happen, as I am fully aware of what the situation is. The key phrase is I wish, which expresses a desire for something that is generally beyond normal expectations, thus implying that I understood going in that it was not going to happen and in no way indicating that I thought Anet would/should do this.
I did not say that I thought it would happen, just that it would be nice to be able to get something for the, imo, junk that I get in BL chests.
On the Badges of Honor issue, EotM train for a few hours and you will have more than enough badges to get an inexpensive set of armor with almost any stat line <6g. If you have been doing dailies/monthlies you could opt for ascended rings/amulet with laurels (or if you have more BoH then get them in WvW for a mix of laurels and BoH). This would leave you only needing accessories and weapons. Weapons are rather easy now, if you don’t mind doing PvP for a few hours you should get enough points in a track for at least 1 possibly 2 exotic weapon chest, just make sure the track you are working on offers weapons with the stats you like. That leaves you with runes/sigils, which can be very expensive or very cheap/craft able, just depends on what you want/need and how much you can/want to spend.
Thanks to everyone here. I changed to sell at lowest seller price (can’t be bothered to type in my own undercut price) and am making more gold now. If there is only a minute difference between highest bid and lowest sell, I’ll do highest bid for a quick sell, but otherwise, the lowest sell is working. I do have 50 or so items regularly in my transaction list, but the money is trickling in all the time.
It would be nice to have an up/down arrow to adjust those bids with a click instead of having to type it in.
I wish we could just sell the things we don’t need/use back to the gemstore, at half the lowest rate, so a repair canister would get you 15 gems (lowest rate is 5/150 = 30 ea, 1/2 = 15) I have a chest full of boosts that I don’t use often, if I could get some gems out of them it would encourage me to spend a bit to get the extra I might need to get things I really want.
Drop me a line in game, you can copy my forum name and paste it into the add friends block in game, I will be happy to help you out, I am east coast US. I play on JQ, but with the mega servers that is not much of an issue outside of WvW and guild influence.
I like any idea that allows me to get a legendary without RNG or TP. While that does not sound like a vote for this specifically, I do really like the idea of more legendary weapons and having them be more customized.
I think I missed that one, is really a baby cat? or was there a mini that the name gets censored on?
I would also like to use a preset, nameable by the player. I do tend to remember to reset mine, but it would be nice to just click the WvW setting tab and not have to manually change multiple pull downs.
Assuming they did not have swiftness, the trait Warriors Sprint (I think that is the name) gives a warrior a 25% boost with melee weapons equipped.
I prefer flexible guilds myself. I have a small family/rl friends guild that I do PvE with, but most of them are not interested in WvW, so I need/want a WvW guild that is fine with me only repping them in WvW, while in PvE I can rep with with the friends to boost the influence etc. I guess I could use one for PvP as well, although it seems less important.
So once you hit 80 and have a decent set of gear, what really is the point to karma anymore? I’m not even trying to get an ascended item right now so this junk really has no use.
Alts, new gear/build, alternate gear for specific activities (Soldiers for WvW comes to mind).
Get rid of the actual weapon and armor chest. Figure the average token cost of they various items and give us the tokens at the intervals, that way the player can pick what they want. This should work out to approximately 300 tokens at the 4 points in a track, or a total, with the 4 points that you get 60, of 1440 per track. I am not fully awake, so someone check my math.
