I think I was getting it in EotM doing the ktrain
Exploration is a good way, I also think. I have just finished leveling an alt to 80, di the 1-15, 15-25, Gendarren Fields, Fields of Ruin, Bloodtide Coast and Sparkfly, got to 80 and Orr at the same time. I did keep food buffs up, and did dailies with that character.
There is a thread suggesting a way to downgrade mats in the forge, seems like a related concept, and one that I like.
All of those would help, but I don’t think you can get the recipes any longer. Am I mistaken?
Some of the PvP tracks have shards I think, although I have not done any so I am not sure how many they give.
you should have an item in your inventory, click it to move it to your wardrobe.
Listing your server, or at least if you are NA or EU, will make this a bit more efficient. If you are NA feel free to get with me in game and I will be happy to party up with you.
That is very nice of you to offer, additionally you could copy the name from here and paste it into the add friend block in game. Feel free to do the same with me, as I enjoy helping.
I did not realize that exotic Berserker was available for karma. Where you just listing all the ways to get exotic and picked a set that is not available with one of those currencies or do I need to hit the karma vendors again?
They do, I give you the set of Melandru that is useless to me now as an example.
This might not help completely, but I noticed that my English language client has the option to turn off English only in the chat. That is on the general chat setting.
While key farming you might also, occasionally at least, do a city map completion or two to break up the monotony and get a transmutation charge.
Do you know what stat you want on the armour? If so there may be multiple sources for getting it, other than buying it for coins. Examples include WvW tokens, Karma, and I believe there are some stat combos that you can get from more than one dungeon. So depending on what stats you want it is possible that you can get it, in various skins, from a variety of sources and reduce the repetitive grind.
I am on JQ, my GF and I both do a lot of map completion and event trains. We are usually on later in the evening in UTC-4 (eastern US). Drop me a line in game and we will be happy to join with you.
The ones for lower level character are cheap enough that if you are only changing armour every 10 levels, which is often enough, it is not a big deal to buy new ones. You can always salvage with a master kit and have a decent chance of recovering, if you prefer to do that.
Does this mean that I could just have it on my aquatic, zone in, jump in the water and kill 25 things, and have BL applied to my land based weapons? or do you have to have one on a land weapon as well?
EotM Ktrain is pretty good I think, I got 50k in a few hours with no buffs.
biggest hit is to armour bought with BoH and then runed with Melandru.
I can see this being a problem, maybe just put the champ, or and equivalent into the defend events? That way you could get the unlock from doing the defend. Plus, it would add a bit more loot, champ chest, to the defend.
Listening to all the talk about people not liking the changes, I must say that I enjoyed playing today. Had a day off and decided to dedicate it to playing post update. I spent the day in Orr and saw every temple event completed. Balthazar, which is in a megazone, was completed between 12pm and 1 pm UTC-4. Having the number of people in that zone for that event at that time was amazing. So, while I am sure there will be things I don’t like, I run zerker on 3 characters, I think I can work around those, not feeling a huge difference in zerker damage/survivability, and enjoyed the positives greatly.
I seem to recall there were some discounts to move from the top tier WvW servers, the you listed for the WvW season, so that might explain some population drop.
As above, but you can get the poison sacs in Orr as well. Find some event that have waves of risen and spiders, bones and poison as direct drops and a bit of everything from bags.
Nicely done. That said I noticed the bandit was left off, not sure about all servers but I know it is on the standard route on JQ.
I would like to see boosts in the wallet. I know I would use them more if I did not have to carry them with me on the off chance I decided I wanted to use one.
There is an event in Brisbane Wildlands that spawns giants. It is in the southwest corner. The more people you have there the more giants spawn. There is another thread about this that gives more info on that event.
JQ is very active in WvW and there are many in PvE as well, with some dead zones that, with any luck, the megaserver will help with.
Pull up the zone list on wiki and look for things that don’t have any hearts etc. If you have 100% map comp it must be in one of those.
Even on things you have to learn from a recipe, does it not treat it as discoverable if you do not have the recipe? I seem to recall having had this happen. Placed 3 or 4 items in, had the this looks like something text come up. but then was unable to discover it.
Race/Profession is really a case of what you like looks/actions. That said to learn the game one of the heavies is probably best, as they are a bit more survivable while you learn. Once you have the basics of the game down I would really advise that you just shuffle through different race/prof combos and find what fits you. Don’t invest i equipment upgrades for these characters, just stay in the starting area for the race and play around a bit.
If you end up on an NA server get with me in game and I will be happy to help you out, I keep a slot free to make new characters to run around with new players so that I am not doing all the work/keeping them from really participating. I am on Jade Quarry, JQ, and it is an active server with many players.
Just as general information you can copy user names from the forum and past them into your friends list in game, although you have to use crtl+v as there is no paste option directly, which will make it easier to find those of use who have/are/will say find me in game.
The scavenger hunt for a Pre has been mentioned, and I would love to see that. Leave the reqs for making it a legendary the same, but some means of acquiring, other than RNG and gold farming would be great for the Pre.
I had a tendancy topick up banners by mistake, and I have noticed some others say that. Basically, in a big fight, multiple on both sides, if the indicator to pick things up pops up, you just press F to grab your loot, unfortunately it grabs the banner, bow, whatever. One solution, and the one I used, is I changed interact from F to Z and set F to just be auto loot, so if the indicator shows up I press F if it is loot I grab it, but I don’t interact with anything else.
425-450 is not that expensive either. All the adapt level rare discoveries will cover most of it, and sell for as much or more than the mats cost. That will not get you to quite 450 probably somewhere around 440-445. but pretty close.
D/D ele works ok for me in PvE, although my kills are a bit slower since I went with survivable armour. As to other classes, if the ele is your only character, use some of the slots and just play with the classes, maybe do a couple of the 1-15 zones, that should give yo an idea as to the way it plays and let you know if it is worth the time to level it far enough to unlock all the available builds.
An idea put 4 of the 5 slot bags into the MF and get a 6 slot, 4 × 6 = 7, etc. So 4,294,967,296 5 slot bags = 20 slots. A bit of a grind, but if they looked cool and were actually visible on the character, people would do it, or at least buy the bags, thus making them useful loot.
I love that you are concerned about other/new players. I am trying to build a guild around helping new players, as that is one of the most enjoyably things for me (I just read a post from a new play talking about the fact that leveling seemed slow, so I logged in sent them some food and oils with instructions, and told them to with me in game if they are NA). One of the things that can/should/does set this game apart is a community that helps.
Actually, it might be LS prelude, remember the sister of one of the season 1 LS NPCs (sorry name escapes me) was talking about being sent to the Maguuman area.
Maybe keep the TP and put is the actual ability to trade between players? FOr those who want the convenience of the TP it is there, and for those who want to try and make a bit more, avoiding the fees, and those who want to try and save a bit, by the trader avoiding the fees, the option is there. Just a thought and I realize it will not happen as the TP fees are a gold sink.
Given that you can “crawl” while downed underwater, I would think the basic mechanics would be in place.
If I am reading that correctly you live in EU but play on an NA server. I have some characters that have not completed PvE maps, drop me a line in game and we can group up. My GF and I have some new characters, id 30’s that have only done the 5 1-15 zones, and we enjoy doing zones, try and do one a day, although I have gotten a bit busy with doing WvW completion for my 3 characters that have PvE done and still need WvW maps.
I have 100% on one character and over the 96% threshold on 2 or others. That said I think there needs to be some adjustment. Mainly, it is not fair to the people who just do WvW to have a bunch of people running around getting POIs etc who are using up the available slots.
The link show the average price to be pretty stable.
That chart shows that Gem prices have more than doubled since champ farming started. I don’t know that the trains are the reason, but I would not call those prices stable.
I am on JQ but if you feel like guesting here or get with me in game I will guest to you and do open world with you.
It is roughly level bases, so a 1-15 item that salvages to ore will give copper, while a 70-80 will give mithril with a chance of ori.
Karka farm use to be very popular. It was not uncommon to see 2 or groups of 5 running around in that small area between the 2 WPs on the north end, can’t remember the name right now. With the slower spawn it would be necessary to find a larger area to farm, but it is doable.
I just took it to mean that throwing 4 GS in did not mean GS out or something like that.
I do champ farm some, but it is more for something to do while waiting for others to log in, which might give me some good drops. That said I would not mind seeing the trains go away, mainly because the people who run the trains constantly can become rather verbally abusive if someone happens to kill a champ outside of the train. I love doing event chains and think that a system should be put in place that would encourage people to get out there and do them. My suggestion on this is to create increasing rewards for each event done in a chain. For the first event you get x for the second 2x for the third 3x (of 4x). If the first event of the chain that an individual does is the second they would get x for that and 2x for the third event (their second). Basically, get people out there doing things. How often have you been in FGS to do CoJ and heard the train saying,“let us know when you have finished the Pre so we can come and do the event.” It the reward from the event was higher because you had done the Pre events it would eliminate some of that. And that is not limited to FSG, QD is as bad with the SB.
WvW if you like it, between badges and karma you should be able to get armour for every slot fast, although if you use both badges and karma it will not be a “matched” set visually. If yo are going to skin it, or there are parts you don’t show, then that is not a problem.
There are still those of us who play general open world content. I have multiple characters (5) with total PvE map completion (I am not much of a WvW person, but I am working on getting the 4 who have not finished that done). Once I run out of zones to complete, I start a new character and do it again, character 6 is currently level 19. I will also go out and find the event chains that people do not do often and run those (with a small group). So there is hope for PvE. If you want to play in open world feel free to get with me i game, I am always looking for new people to run with.
I would like to see increasing rewards for doing multiple events in a chain. So if I do the first event it pays x, the second would pay 2x, the third 3x (or maybe geometric so 4x). If someone comes in on the second event in the chain they would get x with the 3rd event (2nd of them) paying 2×. Just something to make it worthwhile to get out in the world an do the long chains.
