When I was first starting I found the experimental teleportation gun (think that is the name of it) to be helpful in some cases.
As has been said just watch the rotation. I am on JQ (so the same tier), have played less than 2 years, am not a regular WvW player (although I do run with guildies occasionally), and have completed mapping 7 times.
The WvW ones cost less laurels, but require some BoH, but other than that I believe the stats are the same. As to the AR infusion, all I can think of is that they just meant an infusion. There are infusion available for laurels and BOH, which are slightly better than the laurel only ones, but these offer no AR iirc.
You’re missing the point. They want you to log in, every single day.
This is actually your “reward” for doing so.
.
This….OPs suggestion is bypassing the actual intent of the time-gated mechanics…..to get you to log in EVERY day AND be doing something active (which is more likely to make you do something else and then something else…etc.)
Fair point. How about everyday you log in and complete dailies, just the 5 minimum, you would get the credit?
This might be info that you know and just did not mention, but for 10 silver you can convert your other types of combat boosters, if you don’t use them. Talk to the BL Armor Merchant about that.
A note on salvaging for insignias, you will not get them from salvaging crafted armor.
Have you logged in on a character that actually bought one? I found that I need to do that before they went account wide.
I find it faster to just go to my home BL in WvW to get to my chest for stored gear than running into DR.
Could someone with a large amount of gold also have converted a large amount of it to gems, thinking that keys will go on sale and skins will spike high if keys can no longer be farmed?
I did the math once I think it worked out that making a +10 AR, based on buying the +1’s at 10 silver and the cost of reagent, was cheaper than making 2 of the +5 with stats, based on the material cost to make them (T6 mats etc). It has been a while since I worked it out and mat prices change rather fast, so I am not positive on that.
The recipe is account bound, but the only character who can craft it is the one who learns the recipe.
You need an infused item to be able to use that. Wiki link: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Infused_equipment
Also, if you salvage an insignia and craft armour with it you will not be able to resalvage that insignia, if I understand correctly.
If Tags are meant as a gold sink make them a gold sink. There is no cost for Tags, there is no cost to use a tag in WvW, there is a cast of X gold per hour to use a Tag in PvE. Maybe there could be a BoH per hour cost in WvW.
The WvW suggestion is also what I use. Also, I have an unbound weapon, 2 or 3 actually, of the type I use on a key run. I mail these individually to a guildie who returns them to me, also individually. This allows me to grab them from the mail to use during the first instance, so any kills I get open skills for the weapon I will be using in the rest of the run. I have an upgraded account bound weapon in my chest that I switch to when I go to WvW to get my armour.
You can also use watchwork sprockets to make blade shards in the mystic forge. That gets expensive if you have to buy the sprockets, but if you have the home instance node, or a friend does, you can get a few each day that way, and maybe some shards. Also, if you have the watchwork pick just go mine everything you can find.
You can upgrade your agony infusions to +10 AR and then put it on your 5 trinkets, no need to craft any ascended gear to get 50 AR.
I thought, from reading the wiki, that you could only put AR infusions in Rings and Back Pieces. I don’t do fractals often so I have not worried about it, but I was researching it in case I started doing them more often. Could you point me to any info on AR infusions on other items?
Just turned 43 and my better half is 50 (I am never sure how to refer to her, Girl Friend does not always seem appropriate), and we both play. I have a guildie who I think is in their 70’s. Also, I played GW with someone, alliance member, who was in their 70’s, his usual party contained him, 1 or 2 of his children and various grandchildren.
Did you go into the Personal Story section of your hero screen and see if it is there to be manually activated? Your initial post suggest that you did, but as you did not say it specifically I thought it might be worth checking.
Also, many people who normally do events in Orr are currently leveling their lumberjack skill instead of doing events.
IF you do not have a banker golem I find it faster to go to my home WvW borderland to grab gear than it is to go to the DR bank.
Yes, I realized that later, sorry about that, I had been crafting T5 rares and had 15 on the brain. I am not sure how much of a sink it would actually be, if the current insignia salvage method is left in place, but I was thinking of it as a way to equalize value on the various T6 mats.
As insignia take 15 T6 mats at that point they could make recipes that require 5 each of 3 different T6 mats. That would be a way to get the prices in line for all the T6. There would probably need to be an additional step, “Craft Dire something requires 5x, 5y, 5z”
I promoted mine while it was transmuted, the transmutation was lost, but the item upgraded.
Eventually you will be happy to get the keys instead of the charges.
I was grandfathered on 6 characters. I am currently working on a new character and I rather enjoy unlocking traits through play. It seems more “realistic” to have to do something other than spend coins to get traits. The fact that I enjoy most aspects of the game probably contributes to my attitude, all 6 of the grandfathered characters are level 80 with 100% map, which indicates that I do enjoy doing most everything in the game. The only traits that I see possibly being difficult to unlock are the ones in EB as I prefer playing in the BLs.
The release will be multiple expansions, purchasable in the gemstore as an expansion chest, RNG as to which expansion you get.
Nice to hear about all the couples playing together, my GF and I also do this. I think everything I would say has been said, so I will leave it at that.
A full set of celestial trinkets takes 75 I think, so add that in to how many you need.
I would be happy if you could only make one per place of power a day. I would happily run around to different places.
On a related note, best BL trader location for crafting I have found is the one on the western side of LA. Does anyone know of one closer to the crafting stations? I know the others in LA are close also, but the stations seem closer to each other at that one as well, so easier to bounce between several stations.
Toxic Maintenance Oil is also an option. I think it gives xp up to 490, and gives you something to do with bloodstone dust.
Gold Sellers
Top left corner of the character select screen, the icon looks like 3 people, you can set yourself to invisible there, before entering the game proper.

Also, do all your crafting on Friday’s, as you will have the biggest buff from WvW.
Edit: Should have said before reset on Friday.
Karma vendor in WvW has all weapon and armors in blue, green or yellow. Stats are limited to Power with Toughness added at appropriate level then Vitality later, but it is a source for any piece of equipment.
UTC just makes more sence for most of the world. It is a standard base point that is commonly used. I find it much easier to determine what time something is going to happen when it is in UTC instead of PST or PDT whichever is in effect.
Type the symbol somewhere that will allow it, copy and paste into the name block (crtl+v), might work.
On a related note, I have been trying to figure out the best in game feast recipes for a cook out. I am an NA player, thought it might be fun to make them and drop them in a major city for July 4th, or possibly nice Christmas recipes and do it then.
I believe the NPC left when the LS changed. What were you trying to get?
The OP is not talking about the equipment, but rather the upgrade, the thing that goes in the slot labeled Unused Upgrade Slot. You might have noticed on the page you posted that there is not an icon for Jewel next to Magi. That means that there is not and upgrade item available for it.
My attention is then drawn to the upgrades I have slotted in my trinkets… Three of which contain Rare upgrades, not exotics, which would grant an extra +1 in Vitality and Precision…
I upgraded to ascended yesterday with my Quaggan skinned advanced spinal blades. I did not re-transmute.
The guides also tend to factor in how much you can sell the crafted item for, so if is possible that the sale value of bows is enough more than other items to make it more cost effective overall.
… You play GW2 too much, on a touch screen, when driving down the road you attempt to touch and drag the windshield to adjust your angle as you go over a hill.
… You play GW2 too much when you can’t remember someones name and look at the space over their head.
… You see a group of US Army out in their dress blues and think it is a FG zerg in EotM.
Possible that the item is not actually discoverable but requires the purchase of a recipe from a vendor. I seem to recall that putting the items in does what you describe.
Just as a note, Recipe: Gift of Blades is available from the Mystic Forge Merchant.
If you are going to WvW you might do EotM first, just don’t think that the BLs and EB work like that. It will get you a little rank, useful for WvW skills and Badges of Honor, which you can use to help get exotic gear.
At the vary least I would expect to see the possibility of people getting the various home instance rewards, seems unfair that anyone who missed all or part of LSS1 will never be able to get those things.
If they all have the same guild tag it might be a guild event, which is how/why they know where it is. If they are not all from the same guild it might be the World Boss Train. If it is the former you can ask for a guild invite, some guilds are very willing to let people join for a guild event others are less willing for a single event. If it is the later look here: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/World_boss#Full_schedule
Wonder if Blade Shards will get added to that list.
If you have not crafted every rare T5 item your crafters can make, that will get you a bit of crafting xp and at least break even if not make a profit, I have not checked all those prices recently, so that info might be out of date, but it worked for me.
