On a full zerker Guardian, 15% crit chance will add (assuming 100% crit damage)…
0.15 * 2.5 = .375 or 37.5% more damage.
The 2.5 is 250% crit damage because base crit damage is 150% + the 100% bonus crit damage from stats).
Just saying.
I think they follow your trajectory if you jump from a platform, but they’re just running on air.
Right Hand Strength increases critical damage.
Also, have you seen Berserker Guardians? They use Sword and stomp people.
By the time it takes to make 1 item, I could have 2 full sets of dungeon armor with little effort put into it.
You can get 2 full sets of dungeon armor in 2 minutes? Dang, I must know of your methods.
Check your math, 1 piece of celestial gear takes 5 DAYS.
You gather the materials over the course of 5 days, but together it takes about 2 minutes.
You have to charge your Crystals for about 5 seconds.
You have to click craft 5.
You have to click craft 1.
Badabing, badaboom.
it would make balancing PvP a pain, but if they were to test it with WvW/PvE, I think it should be fine. Most weapon skills for each class follow a theme.
Example:
Mesmer:
2 + 3 = Clone Summon + Gap Close (or disengage).
4 + 5 = Phantasm + Utility (usually involves daze, except for GS [GS 3 should be the utility, whereas GS 5 is the disengage. GS 3 used to have daze and therefore followed this pattern]).
The pattern gets changed around between 1 and 2 handed weapons, but most, if not all, weapon sets have all 4 of those signatures.
You can look at other classes and figure out the patterns.
Once you find the patterns, it’s not a matter of “this slot can be this instead” but more of “I can change my XXX signature with YYY” (example: Sword leap on Mesmer. Instead of spawning a clone that leaps, perhaps the Mesmer leaps forward, and, upon hitting an enemy, spawns a clone. There is no secondary action with this skill.)
But I agree, it would be nice.
it would also be nice to be able to wield one handed weapons without being forced to use an offhand.
Perhaps they’re testing new Item skins that can be applied to all armor types?
No crashes for me. o-o
If the dungeon is level 70+, get rares and salvage them.
Otherwise, get the cheapest piece you can.

opening your chests for achievements gives you a minimum of 1 gold some chests contain 5 gold now times that by the number of people playing the game
just saying “Flooding the market with gold? I’m sorry I can’t take this thread seriously.”
doesn’t actually say anything except that perhaps you disagree but are too lazy to even post why you disagree or perhaps you disagree because disagreeing is all you can do and for you there are no reasons needed.
Yes, because everyone is going to get 1-5g just by logging in until the end of time. I think people forget that these are retroactive reward chests based on how much Achievement Points you have earned.
You also realize that 90% of the game don’t have 4000 Achievement Points. Go check the Achievement Points Leaderboard, the lowest you’ll see on any server is ~4000 and it’s still >90% of the entire games AP.
You also talk about sideways game progression simply because there’s no treadmill for you to grind. If grinding for more gear is your idea of an endgame, instead of actually using your gear, then yes, the endgame isn’t up to snuff. However, if you were to actually play the game instead of wanting to treadmill your way to victory (with gear having ridiculous stats after raids etc) then you’d realize that there’s so much more endgame in this game than in a game like WoW.
Sure, in WoW you can grind for OP gear, but then the fights become: “Who has better gear” not “Who has more skill”.
It really depends on what kind of a game you want. Do you want a skill-based MMO or a gear-based MMO? Your answer pretty much tells you whether you should play GW2 or not.
They are able to, they choose not to.
See: Confusion.
Also, by asking directly/explicitly for a Dev/Anet employee, you are going against the ToS for the Forums.
You know, like “Why we had to make the Plush Griffon forget how to swim because he was overpowered.” (I joined the ‘rolls eyes’ team on that one!)
How about “Why we had to make the Quaggan Baby forget how to jump.”
It looks like the Quaggan jumps, but they just walk on air.
They have squad chat, but most people don’t join it.
Downleveling will give you slightly less experience than what you would get at your own level, but the gap will never fully be breached.
Assuming you always get the experience of the other person (both get gold reward on X event, both share mobs so nobody gets 1 mob more of exp, etc), then the gap will typically go down very slowly. I think it would take a few hundred levels (assuming the player higher level is always downscaled to the lower level players level) to reach equilibrium. This, of course, is not possible. :D
Actually, yeah. It kinda IS a platformer. it’s part of what makes it good.
ppl complaining about how GW2 is a WoW clone, then other ppl complain it’s to platformer-y. nice.
It’s too everything. Didn’t you know? :P
Haven’t you heard, though? Celestial is the bees knees. It’s the most OP thing since fried water, and everyone must have Celestial.
Oh, except for that one part, why not make it something else. Yeah, that’s exactly what it needs.
Tested, Mainhand Sword with Sigil of Strength, offhand with Sigil of Energy (endurance on weapon swap). Got might 3 times within 4 mobs + 1 critter. My crit chance is 40%. I did not use any skill that gives me might.
I’d spend 100g to not get suppressed in map chat.
You can purchase Quartz from the trading post for ~50c. That means that one full set of armor is 75s before counting the other materials (ore, silk, etc).
2-11 on me are random bank/alt chars. Highest char that I actually play is 15 or so (of these alts).
I have a level 75 but it’s a banker.
Note: Quartz can be found in ANY home instance on any character. Just once a day.
Step 1: Forget everything about traditional MMO’s. If you don’t do this step, GW2 will be boring.
Step 2: Press spacebar to jump.
Step 3: Do what you want ’cause a pirate is free.
Step 4: You are not a pirate.
Step 5: Pirates are found in Lion’s Arch.
I didn’t get the Omnomnivore Title after defeating the Grandmaster. Do I have to do something else?
Every Belcher’s Bluff achievement (similar to keg brawl).
The only problem is that if you don’t beat Poyaqui, you can’t get Omnomnivore. That’s just one oversight I saw.
Asura Mesmer, don’t care what order.
Although I’d probably pick Vigil because of their shoulderturtleneck and their visor.
You could just have a system where, in the menu of each chatbox, you can check “Listen to Alt Guilds” and then have each guild have a little tickbox when selecting them (next to represent/stand down) asking to show in alt guild chat.
According to the wiki, it’s a once time deal!
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Achievement_rewards#Achievement_rewards
Yeah, I saw that, which made me wonder what will come after 10’000 AP.
boots at 12k, pants at 15k and a chest plate at 18k.
Just guessing, but that guess seems to be consistent with what is up to that point.
There are no boots, pants or chests in the game files, so unless they’ve been holding back and plan on releasing them with the second half of BotFW…
Anyways, I don’t think they’ll add them, because they’ll also need to add a “hide” button for them, and hiding your pants, shirt, and shoes is kind okittenward.
The lightning jump failure only happens to me in the Sanctum Sprint, but it’s most likely a Gale that someone casts.
Honestly, I feel like if they were to add it, they might as well just have a daily NPC you can talk to to enable/disable it and you get bonus rewards when you do anything with it on/off. It would also limit your traits, so you will have to re-do your build (in most cases).
I just think it would be interesting and a fun concept to play out.
Not every profession can even utilize Celestial takes to a greater effect.
Additionally, why would you craft Celestial trinkets? There are ascended celestial trinkets for a reason.
Lastly, you can get CQC from your Home Instance node and Sanctum Sprint. It’s a low chance, but it’s there.
You’re right. 256 years ago is when the Searing happened.
It could be some old freakin’ bamboo, too. How long ago did Cantha cut off trade (and everything else)?
I would just like to warn people, that mail is not infinite storage. Due to mail-server errors, some players have lost a small fortune when their mail went “missing”. So for those of you storing tons of mail filled with expensive items…. store that in your bank, or on an extra character. Or you may end up losing all of it.
I only use it for temporary transference, such as to a character I am making so I can save the personal banker golem. It’s just something I like to do not need to.
Additionally, using players on your Followers tab is helpful as those people have added you, and therefore should respect you. Try to find someone you recognize there.
If you’re so afraid, don’t do it.
Ranger/Necro.
postshortzscsasc
You need it in the inventory.
You could just stick your boosters/fortune scraps/badges of honor onto bank characters.
Also, the bank tab below it is fully filled with town clothing (and 3 town weapons).
I’m comfortable and fine with my bank, when and if I do need more space, I move items onto my alt chars. I simply like them in my bank for the sake of accessibility (even though I never use them).
Note: all those backpacks are level 0 and accountbound except the 2 southsun skins. Those are level 80 and accountbound.
An easier method is to get a character and camp him in the Norn starting area. There’s a Place of Power right at the entrance next to Hoelbrak, so you log-in, charge, log-out.
I don’t have the quote. You can dredge through the Dev Tracker if you want to be sure you’re not going to get banned, but you’re not going to get banned.
There is no Place of Power in Labrynthine Cliffs.
Places of Power are simply commune skill points. Any will do, including the ones in WvW.
If you press esc, you’ll cancel casts. I’m just hoping for a cast-cancel binding because esc isn’t always the best option.
You don’t need jewelry, though, because Ascended Celestial exists.
30 unique baskets* per day.
You are not obligated to complete every single living story achievement. If you feel like you are rushing or cramming to complete it all just slooooooow down and enjoy what you can while it’s here.
I completed all of BotFW on the first day and regret it completely. Although now I have time to do other things, such as run my daily arah and just enjoy myself out of the LS (while returning to the Bazaar for massive dashes!)
How much mithril ingot/elder planks do you need for 1 rare staff? Multiply that by 250.
Also, crafting is usually more expensive than buying.
I do agree that a lot of the detail is chopped off. Namely with leggings, most pants look like pregnant pants… for men. It’s really, really depressing.
Also, most leggings will cover the shoes, thus destroying all detail there.
I would say it is borderline “legal”, since you are more or less using a glitch to get it to work.
It’s not a glitch. It’s a known, acknowledged and accepted method of moving skins. It’s even ANet endorsed!
Also, you can just ask someone you know/trust to return to sender mail items. That’s what I do when I don’t feel like using my Personal Banker Golem’s.
I saw the skins, liked them, and proceeded to get sick of it after using it for about an hour.
With that said, they are still pretty snazzy skins.
