Need more charrecters…
And lazers yeah!
I want fist weapons.
True. I’m sure they didn’t tought about this. Perhaps EoL could be used in future crafting recipes. Who knows. But past 300% the essence becomes junk.
Let me be clear. I haven’t spent a single dime since day 1. And I will never do so untill the gambling is gone. I want to support the game. I do. I’ve done it before in other mmorpg’s. (played WoW, Aion for several years with subscription) But not here. Not untill I see something worth spending my money on guaranteed items. OP is right. Simple as that.
Just wow. I’ve always been behind the idea for better weather effects. See the other threads about improving night/day time.
But you sir had me with this video. Really impressive!
Esreyr you are my hero!
I want this since day 1. Oh and better looking sky and clouds. I see Sun reflection but where is on the sky? No Sun.
I am level 9 in fractals you know…and I feel good
+1 for this topic.
I mean come on! It’s over a year now. We called for this change soon after release.
I remember what hooked me up during beta events. And that was advertised a lot from devs during that time – Exploring the world. So many zones.. and I know them by heart already. I want more…
I don’t believe them. They said the exact same thing 1 year ago. An expansion worth of content which turned out to be a temporary fiasco. Not holding breath at this time.
the ice stone has melted
On another note I’m touching them
Most likely linked before, but, yeah.
That sums it up pretty much yeah. I hope she dies soon.
and another one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YIR97Ubfpa4
You know, I was thinking the exact same thing. Dazzle me for the remaining days of this event. It is soooooo boring compared to last years.
That’s just fantastic. So I’ve spent money for gems prior to the event hoping to “beat out the RNG” from those chests just to get the skins from last year. Such a waste. And the prices in the TP are beyond reach for me. Just great. The new ones are ‘meh’. Guess I will never ever again spend rl money/gold for whatever is involved with gem purchase or manipulative re-sellers. Lesson learned. Thx Kopper.
To the dude above me. You need to go back and play those games. I currently raid and play with friends in all of them, and in comparison to gw2 how it is now, vs last Oct the ‘grind’ you are talking about is 150% easier in wow etc, in fact its so easy that i geared up a brand new toon in full purple gear in heroic raiding in under one month and that was not playing more than twice a week. I haven’t been able to touch that here. So your comparison is bad since you obviously don’t play those games, you like to use as a comparison for what grind even means, and sit here and defend guild wars.
This game has way more of a grind than anyone wants to admit. You should just own up to it.Yeah I read his long winded post. The Sixtheenth has some fairly significant miss conceptions about how math works and the current state in other games. In 2 months of casual play in WoW PvP. I can have All BiS for non rated players. If I get go for rating that season and get it the moment I get 2200 then I go get the rated weapon. It’s always entertaining to pick out the people that just babble about other games that really don’t have a clue about them.
I, too, usually find that it takes about 2 months in WoW for me to have a PvE and PvP set at the level I’m comfortable with. I don’t do heroic raids so gear out of LFR/normal raids and heroic dungeons is fine. And, for the most part, I’m fine with honor PvP gear just to have a set as I no longer do arenas.
And, I find that the short/steep power curve in WoW is actually easier than GW2’s long/low power curve. As mentioned, when a new tier drops in WoW I grind for a couple months and I’m done. The rest of the tier I can relax and play what I enjoy. With the long/slow grind of GW2 the grind is never over. That sword is always over your head—especially if you are an altoholic. One thing GW2 has taught me is that a short/steep power curve can actually be easier on you in terms of grindiness.
In WoW, if I took an extended break, the chances of me being able to do the current content was slim to none. Why? Because the current content needed Tier Z to play though, but I missed the Tier Y and Tier X raids, so I have to start at Tier X raid to get the content, but since it is old content it was very very difficult to find people go through months of raiding that so I can get my gear to go to the next raid that gave me Tier Y gear which took months of raiding, which is needed to be able to play the Tier Z raid, which took months of raiding so I can actually play through the next raid.
In WoW, if you didn’t keep up with raiding, and left for extended periods of time, you were literally locked out of the content. In Guild Wars 2, this is not the case, you leave the extended amount of time, don’t have ascended gear, you were not literally locked out of content.
If I recall correctly the last time I played WoW it took me about a week to speed up on gear so I could get into the latest raids/dungeons. And that was during the first year of Cataclysm. There was no LFR, only a dungeon finder. The looking for raid option was added later on so your argument is invalid.
Are you saying that WoW raids bosses now guarantee you the exact drop you need aftering beating him one time, and for everyone in the raid? it is no longer a few pieces of random gear that someone in the raid may or may not need?
What I’m trying to tell you is that the odds of getting what you want are far better than here in GW2. You even have loot tables and you know what you are after; eventually getting it at some point. I myself never missed the targets I was after. Ofc there is a grind in WoW as well; let’s say farming a reputation to buy a mounts, different items and whatnot. But after all you can see the light in the end of the tunnel. You set a goal and you know for certain you’ll achieve it. Maybe you have bad luck on loots idk.
And here what.. you mindlessly grind zerg events trying to get a precursor from a chest, griiind 982347934 materials to craft the latest items or buy stuff from npcs, farming gold to buy stuff, play the wall street with manipulative people, play the lottery with RNG chests, RNG drop rates and nothing is certain. I can go on and on and on…
Don’t let me start on DR. This method implemented in GW2 has to go! I love this game so much but uncertainty is killing me.

are the weapon skins from last year available (ghastly, greatsaw etc) with this update?
Is it possible to be gathered somewhere else or only in the Molten Facility that is no more ingame (sad panda)…
Posted or not I was just browsing…so true or false? Currently on the wiki page.
Yeah come on! Last year I’ve spent real money for keys due to the lack of a bigger amount of gold during the first month of the game. RNG screw me up. This was the first and the last time I spent real money for RNG in this game. Later on sure it was on the TP but I couldn’t afford it.
I was hoping to buy it eventually by saving gold but the price constantly inflated. Now when we are back at the halloween event those skins are gone! I mean come on. Bring them back!. No way I’m paying this manipulative dude a 1k+ gold for the skin. I don’t even have that much gold nor I will save for a future purchase at that cost!
Fingers crossed something actually does come out of this.
If this new collaborative process is earnest and the developers truly strive to communicate with their customers (PR speak isn’t communication) then they’ll do a lot to diffuse much of the growing hostilities among their customer base. They don’t have to enact the suggestions the community offers, but just listening to the community’s concerns and informing us why they do or don’t implement various changes will go a long way toward rebuilding some of the goodwill they’ve burned over the last year. However, if this is all just lip service given to placate the frustrated masses…the blowback will be fierce.
Sure they claim to want topics but where will it go from there.
There’s a repeat of history happening here again in these forums. I fear that the collaboration will just be something to keep us occupied longer in a title that doesn’t update well or test much before posting a live patch. And I believe that what’s really going on is that the collaboration is also a misdirect away from the greater problem of the new draconian rule coming around the bend, this happened btw in another title and they lost tons of players all at once when it occurred.I don’t think anything will really come from the collab as history with this title for 1 yr + has shown us and I really don’t see a positive future coming from anything this new rule will provide.
I personally even thought of logging back into two of my older haunts due to this happening here in these forums, history repeats itself it seems.
Absolutely guys. Something will definitely backfire either good or bad. Let’s hope for the best. And let’s hope it will be soon. I don’t want to see a major issue to be addressed after 3 or so months. Remember the loot discussion where we had to write thousands of replies and personal observations. Let’s not forget how many times the thread itself was deleted and every time re-posted until something did change after the 10th thousand+ reply. Hope for the best.
Fingers crossed.
PvE
1 DR and RNG boxes must go. The worst thing in the game imo. I would gladly pay for a certain things even at a higher cost instead of playing Las Vegas slot machines. Diminishing Returns? Why should I even bother playing after the 2nd hour?
2 More armor skins. Every patch we see new back and weapon skins but so far only 2 new types of armor skins via the BLTC.
3 Permanent content. You said you will bring an expansion worth of content which disappears after the next patch. No so much “expansion-ish”. Living story? Not so “living” after it disappears upon the following update.
All I ever wanted is to have them permanently in the game!
Possible slip for 2014 in the precursor crafting – I’m fine with that but I believe i’ve read somewhere that new skills are coming by the end of the year? And what about new type of weapons; let’s say fist weapons, polearm or a 2H axe. Just wondering..
“We’re staying, we’re going, we’re staying, we’re going, make up your mind!”
from the movie “Armageddon”
Small or big additions it doesn’t matter. It is still a temporary content!
All I ever want is a longer duration of the event and the clocktower jumping puzzle from last year. My best recollection so far.
Ok, no expansions for the game. I’m fine with that. What bothers me is that after more than a year now still no new territories opened. I mean, don’t tell me the rest of the world is just a fancy good looking smear with a brush.
I believe there are only 2 ways of failing. Wrong lvl tool for harvesting and while being in combat. Probably a bug?
All I can say is that I play since pre-order, and after tossing zillion items in the mystic toilet, farming chests, events, bosses, dungeons and so on..I’m sick and tiered of being unlucky. Screw rng!
Just wondering, is it coming again next month?
Candy rush? YES please!
Ghosts, pumpkins, Mad King says? YES please.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZoEVi5NtDM That was epic!
And most of all – Clockwork tower? gimme gimme gimme!!
I want a eternal vomit tonic like when you eat to much Zhaitaffy.
+1 for the vomit tonic/s
my personal motto as well WvW wise
+1 Ban time gating !!!
12 achievements for a mini? I mean is that all? If so a huge let down for me and my friends this patch. The wings were nice. That fact that you have to open 3189263981638197 boxes to get a weapon ticket is kinda..fine. But only a mini for this pirate thing?
Edit: not even a title? no?
Well after several wipes with my mates, we finished the dungeon. All we can say is that – WE WON’T GO BACK TO THIS DUNGEON. Lol. Achievement done. Move along.
No, seriously I want it! How to get it??? Epic surprise guys thank you!
Ok my party destroyed the necklace and we can’t get more shards. What to do?
+1 for the entire jumping puzzle ideas. best feature in the game!
Greatest moment of my life.
I am actually willing to pay for this JP, my No1 experience in the game so far!
Haha, what now? The TP got hit by the DR as well? sarcasmon
+1 for the clock tower
welcome. you must be new
If I recall precisely during the beta weekend events I had the most fun time in an mmo ever. September was a blast.
Today the game somehow feels like single player rpg.
Let’s see how the guild missions will turn out to be.
true true true,
but I still love making alts. the question is what to do when the slots run off.
holding breath for the next patch.
and the one after.
crystal desert? yes please?
so what? the most played area (Orr) in the game now offers a better way of acquire T6 mats. your point is irrelevant. the problem is in the precursors itself.
Supply isn’t the sole deciding factor on item prices. Demand has a role too. I believe in one of the threads in this subforum, John Smith actually explained that despite an increase in supply for Vial of Powerful Blood, prices actually increased because of increased demand.
the topic here is the scavenger hut, not the price on the T6 mats.
because these items are crafting materials? this had to be in from the start. the pet slots are there from the beginning aren’t they? – enough said.
They did not have depositable spots for lodestones/cores/shards, ectos, mystic coins, holiday mats, and obsidian shards at the beginning of the game. They added that recently.
This freed up a ton of bank space and really discourages the purchase of bank slots with gems.
Anet is a company, and they do want to earn money. But they’re not some money-grubbing evil executives that some people make them out to be (heck why include an option to buy gems with gold in the first place?)
cough yes they are. and you are wrong, now trying to bash me up here and in the other thread with stupid arguments acting like a fanboi. read my post again. ignored.
