I love the wings in Gw2! But skins are limited and most of them looks the same =/..
Something like this would be awesome:

This is my problem to! It started 2 days ago for me. Like annoying 2 secs delay and the same message has been popping up once or twice. ANET FIX YOUR SERVERS!
So i’ll try to explain my problem. 2 days ago i started to get some weird delays while playing Spvp, PvE or WvW. It starts like 1-2 hours after playing the game perfectly.
It affects my chatlog, skill delay… well basically everything ingame. My FPS has not changed, it has always been 30-80
My PC:
Geforce GTX 660
Intel Core i5 3350P CPU @ 3.10GHz
8GB RAM
Windows 8

So this is a question to the Anet team. Why do you hate us WvW roamers?
I spend 90% of my time playing GW2 roaming around WvW trying to find some epic fights. But the problem is….I’m poor as hell. I can’t earn a single gold doing this. How am i supposed to keep up with the gear progression? I need 500g to level my crafting and get the mats for Ascended weapon. 500G ?!?!?
Compared from doing dungeons where you can earn 50g no sweat…
So can someone from the Anet team please answer this? Where is the roaming love?
(edited by Eviscera.9703)
Only being able to get it via crafting and rng is really stupid TBH. What about all the other players? We don’t want to grind for gold and mats and then stand infront of the NPC and craft like a zombie (Thats boring as kitten). I spend most of my time roaming around WvW trying to find nice fights. How am i supposed to get ascended weapons? There should be more ways to obtain them!
1: Laurels + Badges. Why the hell not?
2: An epic story quest that works similiar to dailies. The quest takes about 2-4 weeks to finish and at the end you get the weapon of your choice.
3: New PvP Points in WvW. Everytime you get a stomp you gain a PvP point. For x amount of PvP points you can buy an Ascended weapon.
Why is Anet forcing us to craft endgame gear? Do you know how boring and frustrating it is to level up crafting? Standing infront of the npc and craft like a zombie?
Give us an epic story quest that progresses throughout the whole world with world bosses and epic fights. A quest that actually feels fun and rewarding at the same time and can be done with friends.
Anet please think about your decisions before you introduce them!!!
Thank you! This is a great idea. I don’t even think Anet knew what the hell they were doing when they introduced the ascended weapons. Why do you force us to do the same kittening kitten all over again?! (Gold farming) When you could make the journey alot more fun.
I mostly roam in WvW and sometimes PvE. But i want my ele to be a mix between DD and a tank.
So i’ve been looking for a new D/D build for my ele. This is what i came up with:
Give me your opinions!
I’m running a D/D Elementalist with full knight’s gear with valkyrie jewels (Exotic)
Now i have enough laurels for Ascended trinkets, but i’m wondering which one i should get? Celestial or Knight’s? I mostly do WvW / Solo roaming / Sometimes Dungeons.
Did anyone do the math on this? Which one is the best to get?
Yes, this is getting really annoying. Did Anet say something about this? I’m on Desolation to btw.
Bump. This is getting really annoying. Closing the game doesn’t work. Waiting 15mins doesnt’t work. What the hell you want me to do?
So i just found out the EU servers are located in Texas? What the heck? (Disappointed)
Well to the question. Is it possible to use Wtfast for better connection? If so… Which one should i choose?
Texas TX 1
Texas TX 2
Texas TX 3
Texas TX 4
Texas TX 5
Texas TX 6
Texas TX 7
Thank you.
Are these two things possible? Will they get implented later?
I’m wondering if Condition duration and Bleed duration stacks together? If i have 55% Bleed duration and 20% condition duration, does that mean i have 75% Bleed duration? I’m using Pistol/Dagger.
A definite no to race change. Just try making a new character.
Thats the most stupid thing i have ever heard.
I’ve missed alot of party invites & whispers etc. So i agree with this.
I want this so badly! The current camera distance seems so clunky and is way to limited. If the distance is already in the game why can’t we set it like we want to?
1. Culling.
2. To many Glass canon builds, and way to high burst capability.
3. Arenanet wants you to explore the world, but gives us waypoints instead of mounts to travel with. Seriously, something needs to be done with WvW.
4. No variety in the PvP.
I’ve been looking for tanky S/D or D/D build for awhile, but without succes. I want a thief with high survivabilty but with decent damage. I’m a P/D thief atm but it’s getting really boring, so i want some variety. So i’m wondering what armor stats / Runes & sigils do i use?
Can any S/D or D/D thief share his/her build? Would be really awesome =d!
I don’t care if they implement full ascended gear tomorrow. All i care about is being able to acquire the new items while doing what i think is fun, which is PvP and WvW. Implementing new gear that is only available to get in dungeons is really ridiculous. It’s like Arena net doesn’t even think their decisions thoroughly.
I agree with the op.:) People this is an MMO they should serve both casual and hardcore. Here something i posted a while ago.
End game, well….before i started playing mmo’s i was playing rpg’s, my most favorite game back then was squaresoft’s ff10 before square enix started to kitten up the others that followed. For casuals there was the storyline and some minigames to do ingame and that was it,for the hardcore gamers there was much more, as it almost was disigned only for them.:)There endgame began at getting the calestical weapen’s(that was imo easy)But then it all just begon for me"the endgame"Farming dark matters,Getting break hp limit,Getting break damage limit,Fighting the dark aeons,Finding hidden bosses completing the monsterarena and so on…For all this ya needed a kittenload of time, some effort to read things,to use your brains.
In Gw2 i treuly hope i will experience the same like i did in the game that i talked about. But at the end its all what you make of it,If you like it stay, if ya don’t like it move on.Anothers players reply on this one.
+1
Somewhere along the development of GW2, “no gear treadmill” turned into “no player left behind”. Lets give everyone the same gear! Let’s design the game so every player, good or bad, can complete all content in PvE! Let’s give everyone a choice of 3 cookie-cutter builds for their class, so that casual players don’t feel left behind! Let’s make legendaries easy, but big time sinks so that anyone could get them! As a result, the skill ceiling in PvE was made very low. There are no megabosses, there are no challenges that actually require SKILL to beat. There is nothing that only the best of the best can achieve. “Rewarding skilled players for being good” became “Rewarding all players just for showing up”, and the only measure of a player seems to be “Well did you get 100% world completion?” and “Did you get all the armor skins?”This is what GW2 is if you don’t like it there are many other games out there that will give you worthless rewards for doing something in a game. I personally feel sorry for people that need all the worthless achievements and think that they actually mean anything.
i feel kinda bad for you.
I mean really what you are doing is restricting the game to a specific type of player when you in fact do not have to.This game has every potential to be both hardcore and casual at the same time. A proper ingame ladder and some more ‘worthless’ achievement regarding to pvp (maybe wearable pvp skin for bragging right) would’ve solved everything.
It’s almost like you don’t want the game to grow and succeed and instead want this game for casual players only. Please, the " there are many more hardcore pvp mmo out there go play them kthxbye" argument doesn’t help you, nor does it help the game. Lets start coming up with an adequate solutions for both hardcore and casual players so the game can prosper, shall we?
You literally read my mind. This game has the potential, but it’s like Arena net doesn’t even care anymore. But i still have faith in them, all we have to do is wait and see what the upcoming patches contains.
It’s a very smart choice -.-? That’s why Guild Wars 2 is so succesful right? I’m not saying it failed, but it could have went alot better if they actually cared about the competetive players. Also what do you mean with ‘’the casual players would feel left out’‘? What the kitten is this? Hello Kitty online? Aslong as it doesn’t give them stat benefits it’s alright.
Afaik, GW2 sold millions of copies. That’d be the definition of “very successful” when it comes to a b2p game. They don’t need to keep the 50 ppl who play 10h/day, they actually need to keep the thousands of players who log once a week. A casual player will hang around the game over a longer period of time thus would be more likely to be around when an expansion comes and for events(which come with cash shop items). A hardcore player will burn through content in a matter of weeks(hey, first lvl 80 would force your competitive players to literally burn through the game in a matter of days) and move on to a next game where s/he can compete again resulting in that player not being around for the next cash-in patch. Furthermore, people who can put in the hours to be “competitive” in a game rarely spend money on the cash shop. For one, spending so much time online allows them to generate enough gold to not need real money to support their gaming. Second…if smb plays 10h/day, they aren’t likely to also have a job thus no money to spend on the game. I’m fairly certain the game is not run by uneducated idiots at least when it comes to the money department and they do know how to squeeze the most out of a game.
No, it’s not Hello Kitty. It’s called “customer service”. People feel left out -> people feel unwanted -> people leave. And since the people in question are their most likely source of money, they don’t want to lose them. Whether you and the other 50 hardcore players leave or not is far less important than the thousands of working adults who spent money on the game.
The game is losing players drastically and it barely came out. While competitive games like Dota 2 who are still in frigging beta make so much money that they can host 1, 5 million dollar tournaments every year. I don’t think people will be ‘’left out’’ because they will still have the same stats as the more competitive player. People thinks that the casual players make the game, which is not the whole truth. Look at Twitch streamers, is Guild wars 2 successful there? No it’s not. Why? Because the game lacks competition. At the start of the game when famous streamers tried the Guild wars 2, we had over 5k viewers daily, now it’s down to 200.
And to the Moderator that deleted my post, i can smell your bias all over to Sweden. Keep deleting my posts and show everyone your lack of a neutral point of view.

I don’t understand why people are so negative on this subject? Ok you’re a casual player thats fine, do whatever you think is fun. But why do you have to bash on other players? Just because they play a game differently … I keep hearing ‘’Go play another game, Gw2 is not for you’’ or ‘’Guild wars 2 is for casuals ONLY’’ Whats your problem? Why can’t this game be suitable for both? Competitive players doesn’t care about stats, they care about the ACHIEVEMENT that they accomplished and the hours spent and finally got rewarded for something.
If you feel sorry for hardcore gamers and think they chase ‘’worthless rewards’‘, i feel sorry for you and your lack of intelligence. Because everyone has different opinions, and you will probably never understand how a competitive player thinks. So don’t bash on other players just because they don’t share the same opinion as you.
Why wouldn’t they both be possible? If you read my post i said ‘’only cosmetic’’ And even that lacks in this game. The legendary weapons lack in the story part, and doesn’t feel ’’legendary’’ at all. This game should be for everyone from casual to competetive. And i think you misssunderstood me. I don’t want to be superior to others and have better gear then other people. I simply want a better reward system. Everything from good looking cosmetic gear to ladders to achievments that tells people who are the best PvPers or PvE:ers.
It’s simple, really. Casual players feel left out when placed in competitive environment. And since games are all about satisfying players, they tend to choose their direction. GW2 devs opted for casual-friendly possibly because casual players tend to be the people more likely to spend money on the game after the initial purchase(obvious reasons). It’s a very smart choice xD

@Scootabuser LOL sometimes i think about that to. Everyone is living in a friendly fairytale world where everyone is equal and plays for fun and rides pink unicorns.
The thing you don’t understand is… Why wouldn’t both be possible? The game provides good gameplay for less competetive players, but nothing for competetive players? You naysayers are looking at it in a wrong perspective. If you want to play for fun, then fine you do that. But don’t stop other players from having their own way of fun.
They cannot both be possible.
A hardcore player in this game is equivalent to someone having a legendary. It is entirely cosmetic, yet we all know exactly what they did to get it. But its not enough is it? You want an advantage… you want to stand out even more!
You’re asking for something for hardcore players that makes them stand out from the rest, the only way you could do that is with gear upgrades. I would lose my fun the moment I log on to the game and realize I can’t do anything without dedicating more than 15 hours a week.
My time for “hardcore” gaming is now over, I am now 19 years old and I simply cannot afford to dedicate my time to a video game. As I said before, the only reason I play Guild Wars 2 is because I can log on and play on my alts and friends and feel like I’m not wasting my time.
This is the very reason I have spent over $500 in this game, from gifts to friends to gems. This is the most expensive game I have ever bought in arbitrary value, and it is worth every single penny. I did not gain any advantage, but the experiences I have ventured in Tyria is what made it worth it.
Fact the matter is, us “casuals” could care less about your conquest to get the best gear. So why should we be punished for hardcore players, in an arguably casual game.
Changing the manifesto of Guild Wars 2 would break the game for me and many others.
Why wouldn’t they both be possible? If you read my post i said ‘’only cosmetic’’ And even that lacks in this game. The legendary weapons lack in the story part, and doesn’t feel ’’legendary’’ at all. This is my personal opinion, don’t bash on me. If anyone disagrees with me, atleast be civil. This game has ZERO competition for hardcore gamers. There is no real ’’goal’’ to acomplish, It’s like Anet said ‘’ Here are kittenloads of stuff to do, now do whatever you want’’ But it doesn’t work like that. People want a purpose to play and a goal to aim for, to obtain the things that makes them stand out. Even if it’s only cosmetic.
1. Let’s start with the PvE: Dungeons doesn’t even have the rewards that everyone wants. I’m not talking about items. I’m talking about achievements. Like the ‘’Worlds first 80’’ or ‘’Servers first whatever’’ Those are the things people want.
Let’s take sports as an example. We’re in the Beijing olympics, Mens 100m Finals. Every sprinter has been training day in and day out since they were 10 years old. They gave up all the fun in life just to accomplish this world record. And then suddenly someone breaks the world record and the whole crowd goes crazy, his name is printed in every newspaper and gets famous all around the world.
Now let’s go back to Guild Wars 2. The hardcore players that break records, the famous gamers that puts in heart & dedication into the games they play. 30 hours of straight grinding just to accomplish something spectacular. And what do they get in return? Absolutely NOTHING. This is why all the famous players quit. The famous gamers that stream and advertise your game gets nothing in return. This is why Guild wars 2 is dead on twitch… No competition at all.
2. The PvP: Like come on…. It’s like you Anet released a game that wasn’t even finished. There is absolutely no competition in the PvP. No ladders, No achievments. No one knows whos the best PvPers, because there is no system that tells you that. The PvP lacks variety. No Arenas, No deathmatches… What the hell?! The game needs INGAME ladders… Not the useless ones posted on forums. The people that actually play your game to the max and stream everyday to give to the community gets nothing in return. Why Anet? Just why?
Instead of fixing these issues, Anet implents useless new items that no one wants. Useless stuff in the gem store. Rushes into fixing stuff problems, that end up getting even more kittened up. If Arena net really wants to make this game an E-sport you guys have to top it up a notch. Because this game lacks basic features.
Anyway, Don’t get me wrong. I love this game and i think it’s the best MMORPG on the market. But it still lacks basic features that makes the game interesting to play. This is just constructive criticism.
Nice video! Very educational. I’ve been looking for a similiar tanky build. I’m kinda bored of P/D condi build (Very boring =s) but it’s effective. I’m looking for a more tanky D/D or S/D build but with decent damage.
Subscribed btw =D!
Are you kidding me?! Inspect option is a must in a 2012 MMORPG! And all of you naysayers that cry about getting kicked in dungeons……. Go play Hello Kitty.
Why don’t we have this option? Using your own gear in sPvP but still have equal stats. So it would only be cosmetic. I don’t want to use ugly sPvP gear when i have other good looking PvE / WvW gear that i worked hard for?!
So when you enter the mist you would still look the same but have equal stats to other players.
So the skill you get from shortbows number 5 skill. ‘’Fire an arrow and shadowstep to the target area’’ is not working properly for me. Everytime i try to shadowstep to an area it just won’t let me. I tried changing resolution and it helped abit, but not 100%
Video (Not me)

Crying about GC thief killing another GC in 2 hits……. How interesting.
I do agree with you that the burst builds are way to high and the PvP is simply not fun anymore. I like the long and intensive fights that actually make your gameplay fun and enjoyable. Instead of getting killed by a burst build in 2 secs, where is the fun in that!? The burst capability in this game seriously needs a revamp or BIG changes.
Just wanted to add another note to the discussion: if you have any sort of movement speed boosting effect (swiftness, certain signets, etc), this will only affect your forward movement – not backward movement or strafing.
This is something i don’t understand… Why did Anet even consider this in their game? IMO strafing should be as the same speed as moving forward and all the speed boosts should affect strafing also.
I want to hear what Anet has to say about this. Because this is something that affects the combat and PvP alot.
(edited by Eviscera.9703)
Even with the rotation speed higher it still feels clunky. When im moving from side to side using ’’A’’ and ’’S’’ or ’’E’’ and ’’Q’’ it feels like it’s slower then walking forward.
Watch this video from 11:00 to the end and you will know what i’m talking about, i had the exact same reaction at the start.
(edited by Eviscera.9703)
This is something i would like to talk about. The movement in this game seems so…. slow, stale and clunky for some reason?. It was the first thing i noticed when i first started to play but i kept ignoring it untill now. Don’t get me wrong… i love this game so much and i think the combat is perfect! But the movement seems so weird IMO.
Just wondering if anyone else had this feeling while playing Gw2?. Yes i’m an old WoW player and i admit i’m attached/used to the WoW movement, but i really want to get used to the Gw2 movement but for some reason i can’t.
Please share your thougts about this?
It’s coming bro, just wait for it!
The skill choices depends on what you play and what weapons you’re using etc. 5 Skills and 5 more on weapon swap + utlity skills = 15 skills…. Pretty good IMO.
Desolation or Seafarer’s rest. Both got high population and are succesful in WvW.
You deserve a medal! Thank you!
I agree on this! Account name & Character name change would be nice.
I would suggest to only nerf AoE skills based on how many targets it hits. An AoE skill hitting 1 target should still have the same damage as it have today, but when your AoE skills are hitting 5 people it should lower on damage and MAYBE raise the cap on how many people it can hit.
(edited by Eviscera.9703)
you already have third party software help, which are autotargettting and tab target.
I use them and i love it. I would like to see more options in the game menu that people can chose to Enable or disable, An example would be Cooldown messages that pop up above your character when certain skills are ready.
I don’t know about you, but I remember playing a certain game for years called Warhammer Online. That game didn’t have many restrictions in the add-on department, so eventually a certain one called “Nerfed Buttons” got popular, well at least it did to a few so-called top players. Essentially, you could set this thing up to play the game using only 1 button. That one button changed depending on the situation. Somehow this was totally fine with the devs at Mythic. Not so fine with everyone else getting their face crushed in by kids who were pressing one button over and over. That’s literal face-rolling. :-/
So now everyone has to play pretty much by the same rules as the next person, on equal ground. We have a total of 1-5 weapon moves, and 6-0 utility keys. Tell me what an add-on would be needed for, exactly? Is this a DPS meter thing?
You’re talking like it’s going to destroy Gw2. I’m talking about SMALL Addons like a cooldown message for the most important skills like the Healing skill and Elite skills. It’s not going to be a 1 button smash contest <.<….
@Vorch is probably right, the game isn’t really that complicated but small Addons would still be useful in combat.
@SpyderArachnid Yea, i played WoW also and the addons went abit overboard there. But i’m talking about small addons that won’t really effect anything in the game.
@SteepledHat Yes.
This is something i’ve really missed in the game. Addons makes the gameplay so much easier and enjoyable! For example… an addon that tells you when your important skills (Heal, Stealth etc) finishes from cooldown. It could be a Message popping up above your character like: ‘’Heal skill ready!’’ or ‘’Low on initiative’’ etc.
This isn’t really a major issue, because Anet have more important things to take care of. But it would make me and probably many others really happy if this was implented. Having this mechanic would make the gameplay so much more enjoyable, especially for elementalists.
Maybe Anet already made a statement? Whats your thougts about this?
ONLY do spvp should actually take an effort to farm their PvP gear, but it should also be fairly easy to obtain this gear because we don’t want a game that sucks out your life during the farming of your gear.
Or alternatively people should have taken the effort to research the game before buying it and read that Anet wanted the sPvP skill based, not who has the best gear and that the gear differences just make balancing even harder.
Yea it was a nice thougt of Anet to make it skillbased and i support that. But lets get real, You’re playing an MMORPG! You can’t just jump into a game and think you’re going to wipe the floor with your so called ‘’skills’ I’m saying that the farming of the PvP should be easy to obtain and it should be useable in WvW and it will also make you want to play this game even more
Also the spvp ain’t that successful, because the lack of progression, laddersystem etc… People want to work hard to prove that they’re the best, and people want to farm for their gear as long as it’s fun to do. The filosofy Anet is talking about is not going to make this game successful. It’s like they’re living in a dream world where everyone is equal and plays for fun… GET REAL!
(edited by Eviscera.9703)
Sky has some good points. Sky is an ex WoW player like myself and i’ll try to explain what i miss in GW2.
The gear system in GW2 is quite diffrent from WoW, in wow you worked for your PvP gear (which i liked) and you also had fun during the time in Arenas, battlegrounds etc. But in Gw2 you get everything handed to you (It’s a nice thougt) but the character doesn’t feel as personal as a MMORPG should do. In WoW you worked for you PvP gear and you were able to use it in open world PvP (i miss this alot in Gw2), Battlegrounds, Arenas etc.. It felt like you accomplished something and the character felt really personal. While in Gw2 you farm your exotics and it feels like the gear you worked hard for is excluded from all the fun content. I think that some personal PvP gear should be implented and you should be able to use the same gear in WvW and Spvp. While the people that ONLY do spvp should actually take an effort to farm their PvP gear, but it should also be fairly easy to obtain this gear because we don’t want a game that sucks out your life during the farming of your gear.
But don’t get me wrong, i love the way Gw2 is made. It doesn’t suck your life out like WoW does (One of the biggest reasons why i quit WoW is the gear progression)
The things I’m trying to explain is that we’re all playing an MMORPG here, and i miss the magical moments ingame that words can’t explain. The personal feeling you have with your character in WoW, and not in Gw2 (as much as i wanted to)
Sky is also talking about the clunky & slow combat system. I kinda agree on this but it also depends on what classes you play. The things i like to change in combat is the slow casting of utility skills and interruptions. Also the camera distance feels way to short and should be longer, because it feels like you have no idea whats going on around you with big charrs and norns.
