Its disturbing to see how anet completely ignores their players bug report.
I have sent more than 20 pms to gms/devs.
Created 02 topics..
Got 05 infractions for bumping threads (meaning someone actually came and read the topics)
And not a single answer from any of them..
They have time to discuss anything that leads to a gemstore update, anything thatbis not related to a game bug or problem..
But aside from those subjects… gl getting any attention.
Completely disgusted with the Anet customer support.
That is indeed pretty horrible, never expected that, though keep in mind forum mods and devs are probably not the same thing
Rifle on Engi is meta, but only 2 of it’s skills are used in the dps rotation, skill 2/4 is purely situational and 1 is crap.
Rifle on warrior is just purely single target pew pew damage, it does more damage then a longbow but has less utility, featuring a criple, knockback and vurn burst.
I use the rifle on certain fractals that I require ranged on, like mai trin, jade maw and grawl.
On mai trin i often use the long distance knockback to knock her into the lightning field, one could argue that the inmobolise could be usefull, but it requires her to already have lost a bunch of stacks.
On grawl fractal since it’s single target and I don’t need the inmobolise i prefer the higher damage
And the same for jade, only need pew pew safe damage.
In dungeons however rifle is quite useless for warrior, but so is longbow as about 99% of the bosses are done in melee.
According to #22 on the Rules of Conduct, it doesn’t allow skyhammer rank farm servers.
“Match manipulation is defined as any action taken to fix or manipulate the outcome of a match or alter or manipulate the rankings or ratings of the ladder.” – notice the or that is repeated over and over, which tells you that this does not pertain only to rated/ranked/ladder play, but any PvP gameplay.
They must not have the manpower to enforce it, unfortunately.
Despite this, there are dedicated rank farm servers that nobody cares about.
However you fail to understand that this shouldn’t logically apply to OS.
You can only manipulate “a Match” in either sPvP or world vs world(if you have guilds working together to that end to manipulate the score at the end of the week)
In OS, there is no match against people, there is no score at the end of the week, there is no manipulation of a match, as there is no match, it’s a free for all killfest and when it’s empty ocasionally guilds set up guild fights, during which it’s still considered a killfest, as nothing prevents me from going on my necro in lich form and trolling’s people’s fights
—22.While participating in Plaver-vs-Player (PvP) gameplay, you will not participate in any form of match manipulation. Match manipulation is defined as any action taken to fix or manipulate the outcome of a match or alter or manipulate the rankings or ratings of the ladder. This also includes disrupting other people’s game experience by not actively participating in matches in good faith, a.k.a leeching.
True, however this isn’t PvP, this is hardly even world vs world as it’s not affected by it, it’s a jumping puzzle with a small arena intended for guild vs guild fights while there is no setup for them, no rules at all, meaning anyone can do anything there at any time, unlike PvP matches.
There is no actual exploit in this as far as I can see, 3 sides of players killing each other was the original intention, since there is no matching Anet never really cared if it was for guild vs guild as anyone can interfere at any given moment in a GvG fight.
As far as Economy goes, I’ve seen the number of drops per hour, and it’s a valid gold income, it will most likely vary on the scale it’s done, but looking at 10-15 gold per hour is pretty much what you can get in other farms like silverwastes and orr, which are both allowed.
In any case, all it takes is a dev response to solve this matter………
Also if you are in the same guild despite being in different servers, often you will end up on the same IP, if not you can just party up and right click on the portrait to join them in their map
Of course your complaint would have completely valid pre-megaservers but like Anet said they would add it and they did
It is kinda disturbing how there are so many players that didn’t know howler had a nightcycle to begin with
And people wonder why Anet doesn’t like to talk about what they are doing, or telling us release dates way ahead.
I believe the correct personal DPS list ranking is currently:
- Thief
- Elementalist
- Engineer
- Ranger
- Warrior
- Guardian
- Mesmer
- Necromancer
The reason why in record runs multiple elementalists can be taken is because Ele’s can stack might in a very short time(unlike thief shortbow which takes a while to actually stack the might) While not sacrificing a too substantial amount of damage(like Phalanx Warriors)
However keep in mind about 99% of the people here are probably not participating in record running, In some record runs people use double mesmer, but that won’t make your average dungeon run faster if you aren’t using the same methods.

Privateer runes needed XD
A lot of players have got wings but only a few of them know how to mix this backpack properly to look awesome
I agree, so I’ll post my Necro with the wings:

Bumping for the cause XD
You guys (PvE’ers exclusively) have to play 8% of the game you don’t like to get your legendary (or your achievement, what ever the motivator is). We (WvW’ers exclusively) have to play 92% (more than 11 times as much) of the game that we don’t want to for our legendaries (I don’t know a single WvW’er who actually has the nerve to say “I just wanted the achievement” so…)
And guess what: we do it, we might cuss and moan to our guild mates, but we do it.
Actually as someone who is nowadays doing more PvE then anything else, the “92%” applies to PVE’ers as well, every character I have that I haven’t mapped on has in between 5-10% of the map done, which consists off useful waypoints in cities and rushing to certain maps to get a waypoint for dungeons.
So it doesn’t really matter if you are a PvE, PvP or WvW player we’re all in the same boat when it comes to map completion, WvW players are also limited to mapping if you don’t own a keep, and the main problem people have with the current system isn’t “I have to go to WvW this sucks” It’s more on the lines of “My server can’t take their keep on EB so I have to wait a full week and get lucky on what color my server get’s”
I would have probably cared a lot more if I was making my first legendary, but at this point waiting a week doesn’t matter all that much, still I can understand why people are annoyed by it.
This is the sole reason why I can’t finish the legendary I’m working on….so I’m working on the next one already, who knows by the time i finish mapping WvW I may be able to make 2 legendaries in 1 go
I do think footprints are the least worrying thing, they are the least visible of all legendaries but it’s supposed to be mist so it’s kinda hard in the first place…. still If the footprints were actually just bigger and stayed on the ground a little longer it would make a big diffrence
Or maybe they are gonna show off some new legendaries.
So your playing a sylvari ranger but your doubting it’s melee capabilities and you are looking for something of a midline supporting type class for WvW and PvP mainly.
I would say a Elementalist might be your thing, in PvP celestial staff ele can do wonders for your team, having access to soo many things to help your team out, while being fairly hard to focus at the same time
In WvW I feel that the ele’s are the backbone of a zerg enabling it to keep going by smart use of heals and other support skills, while at that time guardians and warriors take up the front and the heavy damage, while necro’s tend to be the artillery of the zerg.
So yea Elementalist in my opinion, keep in mind it’l be way harder then your current class, but elementalists have a place in every aspect of the game, and are worth the effort
What I would rather request is that gemstore tools like the salvage kits and the tools get an extra tab(like finishers) in which you can take out copies of them and use them on every character.
But since there are already so many people out there that have bought multiple of the same gathering tools it would be pretty bad to not give all of them a refund, while that feels bad for Anet economically I’m pretty certain something like this would improve sales on these items in the long run.
There is no reason to leave this broken, I think we’ll see big changes once they announce the actual legendary changes, but still, till then i feel like we need to keep this thread going
Never have i played an MMO in which leveling is as easy as GW2, I’m not going to say it’s “FUN” but it is way less boring then any other MMO I’ve played.
Be aware Anet has a very strict policy on the use of 3rd party applications that interfere with the GW2 client, despite what we think, (especially people from other MMO’s where plugins, DPS meters and said information is allowed) Anet can still make rules as they see fit, either you follow them or risk getting banned.
Anything that gives you an unfair advantage over other players via a 3rd party application is basically not allowed, including multiple command macro’s(despite Anet saying that they aren’t going to ban anyone for macroing musical instruments)
So I’m pretty sure this “helper” won’t be allowed
I’d love to see at least us able to equip multiple sigils that we own and switch between them, but i doubt it’s going to happen
People really have no clue what Pay to win is if you assume a game like GW2 is pay to win.
I doubt Anet will ignore this forever, though I don’t understand why they can’t simply respond and just telling us what is going on with it, it’s too complicated to fix, it’s going to be fixed, it’s a low priority and might not get fixed, we are working on a fix, any of these things would work(not saying i’d agree with all of them but at least some kind of response would be appreciated)
If they added an dark incinerator version with some sort of a black flame, and then a way to combine those into a day and nighttime version would you call it 3 legendaries?
Dunno but Twilight/Sunrise is basically the same sword(IMO) but recolored and Eternity mixes those in a daytime/nighttime cycle with a new foottrail(which was added later) and a gem to notice it’s an actual Eternity, despite each being great on their own it feels weird to say greatswords have 3 legendary options.
Outside of that, dunno I don’t think Anet said anything about it, but since we are getting new legendaries soon I doubt it matters that much at this point
The reason it’s not meta is because once the skills are on cooldown it becomes useless, so great job bursting someone down, but if you fail to you are sitting ducks.
This is what’s going to happen:
Week 1 everyone uses it
Week 2 The item is no longer obtainable
Month 1 Hype goes down and less and less people use it
Month 3 You see it as rarely kittentered holo wings and people start using it again
And by Month 6 I’ll actively use it on my Necro XD
I’ve been informed that the Kraitkin nightcycle is also bugged, I’m wondering if there is any relation on this….
I agree but some people just don’t get it, I tend to participate in the "heavy moldy bag market " which ranges between 7-9s, despite this every time the price rises you see people undercutting by a silver dropping the value of the item, it’s just stupid 1g or 1silver undercutting gives you no more benifit for sell speed then 1c, it just devalues a valuable item and the seller ends up with less money.
However you won’t change people, some don’t get how economy works.
I actually know a guildmate that would make it if there was at least an Anet response, independent if they would say they will fix it or not
Guard/Ele/Warrior are the most used in general but you would want a complete team and not the “4 warrior 1 ele speedruns” which are actually really slow
Right, so you used the mystic toilet RNG system while Anet announced an upcoming new system that will make sure you don’t have to rely on the old system, yet willingly you still tried to use the mystic toilet and failed the lottery.
You had the knowledge and you failed to use it, don’t blaim Anet for your mistakes
Just hoping the next warhorn legend will look cool and saying that I believe the old legends need to have one final look at and that they all work so they still stand out…
Yea some old legendaries could use some love, but as far as I’m aware none of those are bugged(anymore) and some have received updates recently(looking at you predator)
Bumping for the cause XD
I am at the moment working on my first legendary (been playing since launch, but I never really had the desire to make a legendary… always wanted to make Kraitkin, but since they have completely abandoned underwater combat, I don’t see any worth in it anymore), and I actually really wanted to make Howler, I really like warhorn on my ranger and I really like warhorn on my necro and sometimes I even like warhorn on my warrior from time to time. But seeing as they took away so much from Howler, and nobody of the team stepped up and said something yet, I am actually thinking about making Bolt now, even though I don’t like swords on any character very much.
I find it sad that responses from devs are so scarce. There is the occasional Gaile Gray comment, and even those are rarely helpful. I really don’t like the communication between devs and the playerbase. And, though this might just be me and my bitterness towards the whole communication politics, I think that whenever there is a topic regarding changes to the gemstore, whether it be new item ideas, basically anything that can be put in the store to make more money, is answered quickly, while other things are suggested and reported for over a year, yet there isn’t even one person saying a word about the issue.
I can understand why Anet doesn’t give out much details on what they are working on, but to be all honest bug fixes shouldn’t be affected by their policies of communication, they sure as heck communicate when a client crash is going on.
Personally i dislike frostfang as every other ice weapon, not olny in this game but in general. Ice weapons looks silly in places like a desert.
How about lightning and fire weapons in the rain? XD
I think frostfang is amazing despite not owning it, but then again I’m pretty biased when weapons involve one of these things:
- Elementally attuned(lighting/fire/ice to name some)
- I love anything dragon themed
Though saying this it’s weird that i’m not interested in Bolt or the jade weapon skins XD
Good luck getting any dev attention on this one guys. I’ve made over half a dozen threads about fixing/improving Howler and I have never seen a red post in any of mine nor anyone else’s. There are literally hundreds of posts about this that have never been answered.
I’m not kidding. A simple google search turns up nearly 500 posts.
Even so, keeping a thread bumped for a long period of time doesn’t really take much effort, nor do I think it takes much effort from Anet to say they will, or won’t fix it, but since Anet’s way of handling things is way different from most game companies it’s pretty hard to guess their intentions
I make about 50 gold a day farming 4-5 hours a day, so I end up with a lot of gold, however i hate spending any of it, I regret some things I bought, other things I don’t regret at all.
Spark for 1200 gold as an example, never regretted the Incinerator, didn’t regret making the crossing for my necro, and right now I’m considering zodiac longbow for a ranger I don’t have yet.
Money is there to be spent, it all comes down to how much you value something not to how much the economy values it at.
For instance I love Twilight(not the movie don’t get the wrong idea XD) but considering how common it is, I don’t think it’s worth to me to spend all my hard earned gold on it, as I do want a certain “uniqueness” on it dispite having the incinerator, however on that not I also calculate the factor that in my own liking there are a ton of good looking greatsword alternatives, but “IMO” not as many dagger alternatives
And one last thing, I doubt I will ever leave myself “broke” again, when I made my Incinerator I owned someone 150G because they lent it to me to be able to finish it, while when I made my howler a couple of days ago I had 500G left.
There are so many things they could do with the howl sound…but it should totally be unique in the crowd…
Come on ANET…cant be that hard to give us a position….
Yea this is also a big issue, you hear 1 guy in an entire zerg with a Super warhorn and you can tell, you have 5 guys with a howler and you can barely notice it….
A guild mate of mine has a very plausible theory in which he believes that Anet is something changing the market by choice with content they have been adding to the game.
Remember silk at 3.2 silver a piece? Remember powerfull blood at 70s? the “Big Dig” farm with silverwastes comes along and within days silk crashed to 90 copper and T6’s all over crashed.
Of course the farm was “fixed” but the influence it widely had wasn’t, silk stayed at 1-2s till recently in which it has been peaking above 2s, yet T6’s remain low.
Precursors inflating to ludicrous prices? Anet announced precursor crafting confirmed and BAM precursors dropping like crazy
Indeed, I actually at least expected some kind of response by now, though knowing Anet at some point there will be in the patch notes “fixed some legendary animations and sounds” and bam howler fixed
Whatever the drop rate now, there have been loads of better gold farming methods introduced into the game after this thread was created. 2-3 gold per half an hour is just not “good” anymore.
Keep in mind back then the same materials costed only 1/3 of it’s current price
on the trailer they did mention new legendaries.. but i doubt it is accessories or armor since they did mention no new gear level.. now gear level increase i mean.. so ascended will still be top gear. By that i think it will be new weapons.
They said specifically “Legendary weapons” if I’m not mistaken, though that doesn’t exclude legendary armor, keep in mind currently dispite there being legendary weapons their stats are just as high as ascended, even if legendary armor comes in the game it will be only at ascended stats.
I guess the main reason for people to want legendary armor is to be able to change stats on it, instead of having sets of armor in their inventory
[quote=4803355;phys.7689:If you define free, as costing money your are correct
but valueless is false.
time has value, even if it is recreational time. This is why if someone wants to call a locksmith to open a door, in his off hours, he charges them more, because his recreational time has value. This is why you get paid more for overtime, because your extra time has value.
This is why some people will tell their bosses to noway when they call for some extra hours.
And lastly, this is why people will pay money to be able to spend more of their recreational time doing what they actually enjoy doing, rather than preparing to do it, because that time has value.[/quote]
Then it still wouldn’t be pay to win, It would be pay to have more time to do things in game while not caring about in-game gold.
Having more gold doesn’t give you an advantage as there is nothing to obtain to give you an advantage or an unfair edge, stats don’t really matter and the only thing you can get are boosters which can be accessed out of the store, and let’s be real here, noone cares about boosters.
I think many don’t get the meaning of pay to win, basically a game is pay to win if game developers give any unfair advantage to players that are willing to spend money on the game, generally things that cannot be obtained otherwise or nearly impossible to obtain otherwise.
Bank slots and bag slots pay to win? if you really think so you have never ever experienced a real pay to win game, or worse, a game that wasn’t pay to win, but became one over time.
Your definition of Pay-To-Win is a little bit, narrow minded.
Time advantage. This has been discussed, and now we’re at the point where posters are repeating themselves instead of offering any reason why a time advantage isn’t pay-to-win (which I described in this game as pay-to-equality with veteran players, and pay-to-advantage over new players). I have yet to say that’s a bad thing, (slightly unfair maybe, bad…not really). Question is, why is everyone so wound up over me calling it a form of pay-to-win?
Not really, i did mention an item otherwise nearly impossible to obtain, one could say taking a ludicrous amount of time to obtain, while giving an advantage over other players “convenience” isn’t an advantage, having more bag space doesn’t give me any edge over other players, it would only allow me to be lazy with storage management.
I’m wound up that calling it pay to win is bad because it’s the wrong term for it, I’ve come down from games where they suddenly announce “permanent stat tomes” in the store, and in those gamers there isn’t a gold to payed currency converter meaning only real money would get you those.
People don’t get that pay to win is technically you having to pay to be able to compete with players that decide to pay, this tends to be a trend in Free to play games.
If people feel like dropping 300€ to get a legendary in the game, then sure I don’t mind, them having a shiny skin doesn’t give them any advantage over me.
I agree that if howler worked, would be very hard to surpass. They did say there will be new legendarys, but to say only release a few there might be up-rage, an intresting thought I had is that what if wee will be crafting legendary accessories instead and introducing great looking new ascended wepons such as http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Marjory%27s_Everliving_Blade
Well I’m not really saying “a few” will only release, but i don’t think they made one of each type either, I’m fairly certain we will see new bows, swords, a staff and basically all widely used weapons, honestly I’d love to see a decent focus.
I completely agree with this, the legendary is a warhorn so I also believe that should be it’s biggest aspect, there are now three other warhorns that do not have a extremely long lasting loop but they all have a much cooler, legendary warhorn sound then our current. Quite curious to see the next batch of legends and how they turn out
On that note, Anet never specified if each type of weapon will receive a new legendary, and to add there, thematically i find that surpassing some legendaries will be hard, if anything I’m doubting we will see new legendaries, and off-hand-wise at best i can think of a totally new focus, so i doubt we’ll get a new warhorn.
That said I wouldn’t care if we didn’t get a new warhorn, Howler is an epic design already, if it functioned like it used to I couldn’t think of a better warhorn.
Going to answer in bold next to the questions:
How did you get it?(Paid, or crafted) Crafted, by paid you mean IRL money or buyout a completed one?!
How long did it take you to gather the materials? About 30m after farming the gold for all of the materials!
What method did you use to gather the materials? Farming gold which often got me T6’s then buy whatever is left to fill up the stack!
How long did it take to craft you overall? From 0 gold i’d say 2 months? *!
How often did you play during that time period? *Wait there is something else then GW2? XD I’d farm gold for about 4-5 hours a day!
Did you enjoy it? The actual gold farming is rather boring, but the end result is satisfying!
I made an Incinerator as my first Legendary and finished a Howler just yesterday, making a legendary will either involve a ludicrous amount of time, or a amount of time of doing quite boring things in exchange for gold, this usually involves dungeons or some kind of farm train, so repeating something over and over aka grinding
