Im looking at you bomb enginer you spend so much time trying to stack might in that burning circle of yours that you aint auto attacking with bombs

You mean:

-Big ol bomb
-Switch to bomb kit and use fire bomb
-Switch to elixir gun and use acid

Because that’s actually still doing damage with 3 diffrent attacks and gaining 6 stacks of AOE might in the process, if you had your healing turret out and have your ulti up you could get an easy 12 stacks, and that’s just the engineer’s blast finishers

How about no? This game doesn’t need the “K/D” importance vs “cap” importance disputes and arguments when people lose a game, “But i am going 5/0 you just keep dying” “but i capped 10 points by myself your just fighting in the middle of nowhere”

Yea i can see the above happening so easily that it would kinda ruin PvP for me, though i’d have no issues if you could see your own K/D but others couldn’t

I agree, it’s by far the hardest world-event to do, and that only being 1 head to deal with, let alone all 3.

It needs WAY too many people for starters, and it’s very unforgiving, see TeQ can be a challenge but goes smooth with organization, still it’s somewhat forgiving to a number of possible mistakes

Solution to fix the population imbalance

Exeon.4358

This is going to be totally thinking out of the box:

What if Anet decides to reward people transferring(for free) to lower populated servers during a time period to boost the WvW population?
If we could get WvW guilds to transfer to other servers and be rewarded for it in some way some of the imbalances could go away.
Or non-permanent transfers.

The rest of the ideas are good, but are already discussed in their pro’s/con’s situations

Is flamethrower any good in PvE now?

Exeon.4358

I usually use my engineer for PvP as i always have, but recently I’ve been doing PvE as well and I’m using my condition engineer in dungeons which as far as I’m aware this is not optimal, so I’m going to make my berserker build for PvE

However with the 33% added damage on the flamethrower I’m wondering if it’s actually the best thing to use for straight up damage, I’ve seen bomb kit, and granade kit with a tumper turret for the might stacking, though with juggernaut might would be easier to keep with the flamethrower as well

So anyone with more PvE experience I’d like to know your opinion before i do anything stupid :P

How You Would Ruin Things

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Exeon.4358

It’s easy to ruin the game

We are going to add a new currency in the store only buyable with real money called superior gems, were also going to add permanent character Stat tomes that improve a Stat of your choice up to 200 per Stat, you can obtain each one as well.
These will be buyable only with the new currency and they work in wvw and pvp

We are also removing agony from fractils as we want everything to be available even to the inexperienced as long as they have the new currency to unlock them

Also the game is going free to play so every banned rager can come back for free! As well as free gold seller accounts to earn our money back from those players we are putting a lock on max gold, doable dailies, locked dungeons and locked regions all conveniently purchasable with our new currency

Also wvw will require a wvw time tome from the store that unlocks it for that weeks matchup

Pvp now has exclusive sigils from the new shop

For convenience one can now purchase fully leveled characters so they don’t have to go threw leveling

Btw if anyone is wondering 90% of this isn’t made up it happened in my previous mmo I dedicated a few thousand hours to

OP is playing since launch and still didn’t find a way to get gold?

Jesus….

Back then people used to farm karma and open orrian boxes, however I quit the game when my guild broke up and and I left the game several times for longer periods of time.

Also if I have a clear objective in mind I can do it for longer periods of time, for instance I didn’t mind getting 40 levels on my mesmer by doing eotm for 10 hours straight as my goal was clear and I knew what I was going for.

Meaning that besides dungeons I could farm 10 hours if I get a straight goal for X gold per hour if I put my mind to it.

I do have 850K karma but I don’t know how it transalates into gold as I keep hearing its not worth it.

My magic find is only 90% as well so im wondering if investing in salvaging ectos is a good idea

Anyhows thanks for the responses so far

What kind of gold income are you looking for? I get 10ish gold per game play, others get more, others less. Depends on what you want the gold for. I really don’t have a plan so I just dump excess gold into gems and wait for something I like.

It’s not like i would look for a precursor but there are certain exotic weapon skins on the TP that I love but don’t get because the price range is between 25-100gold which I could pay If I spent every penny on them but I can’t do that considering how slow I gain money

I’m also going for more armor sets to improve my pve gameplay but if im looking at 10g for a sigil when I need 6 for armor alone then I have a problem

So Yea nothing legendary but I do need money, gems would be nice too…..

Besides all this having money is never a bad thingeither

Ps: I do all the world events daily already

Exeon.4358

Now before someone says look at Google, and countless of guides, the main reason im asking this now is because gold farming changes often as far as I can tell and guides get outdated.

I’m basically looking for the best stable gold income possible in this game, as i’m getting gaps in my gameplay that I could fill with gold farming.

Now i’ve never had much gold even though i’ve played since Launce, my max capital has never really exceeded 60G

So besides flipping in which I suck(mainly because I fail at remembering economy prices) what is a good stable way to make gold at the moment, and how much gold per hour could someone get?

I hear dungeon dailies and farming lootbags in Orr is good, but is that all there is?

Thanks in advance

IMO this game has enough endgame, however it has too much farming and it can be the annoying kind.

See doing live meta-events on a daily basis is ok for me, but running around with 30+ players spamming AOE’s on Not-Yet-Vulnerable-Undead/Risen-Orrians during events to get Lootbags will get boring pretty soon, although the rewards can be pretty good, it’s still a big bowl of FX bombing some pixels to get lootbags.

What I’m saying is that some parts of “the end-game” require “boring” farming see doing each meta-event on a daily basis is a form of farming, but it’s not that boring at least not in comparison.

Well i guess if i really wanted a precursor bought off the TP i could do every path of every dungeon daily giving me 24 Gold which i need to do 64 days to get a precursor

Maybe i should start farming gold that way at least, since 24 gold is about half my capital

Exeon.4358

An easy solution would be increasing the availability of T6 mats in conjunction with the availability of precursor weapons.

I’m not saying it should be easy, however precursors shouldn’t rely on luck, and IMO not marketable.

Anet could for example make account-bound precursors available for a big mix of “for example” dungeon tokens, of each dungeon, while also for instance adding the lootbags everyone seems to run around for in orr to the loot-table.

Besides legendaries being overpriced for what they are, i don’t do RNG i tend to quit games that have too much “luck” factor in them, so in this game even if i played since Launce i never cared to craft a legendary weapn

I’m just wondering, it’s been a week or so since my account’s second year in the game, but I’m wondering now, why were the rewards reduced to 1 character? i recall getting 4 boosters(1 for each of my characters i had at the time) and getting a mini for each(as the wardrobe system didn’t exist yet)

This year i get 1 booster and 1 birthday blaster……. the booster is one thing but when you play a lot of chars and have no real “main” it’s kinda disappointing.

Anyone else have this?

We need a better precursor system

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Exeon.4358

Every other ingredient in this game needed for a legendary weapon has a fairly secure way of being obtained, however as far as precursors go, you need a ton of luck to actually get one yourself.

Even though I’ve played since Launce this is the MAIN reason i did never bother to try and make one, every time i check the list on what’s needed for a legendary weapon, the second i remember the precursor weapon i get put off and don’t want to try getting there.

So i propose a way to actually BUY precursor weapons, boxes etc…. HOWEVER this doesn’t mean it has to be easy, or take little time, however considering fractils and dungeons out there there could be an expensive mix of each token (for example) to be able to buy one.
I’m just brainstorming here keep in mind, that no matter the time it takes i want a CLEAR OBJECTIVE something you can WORK TO it’s the same with the legendary weapon, you keep upgrading components till you get the final piece of art you are proud to wielding.

However flushing a few hundred exotics down the toilet hopping for it to clog and dish out a precursor weapon by RNG/CHANCE is just discouraging

Note: most of this was brainstorming, people could be scared for the market, but it could also be made that buying precursors makes them soulbound while the forge remains free for trade, as another example.

I’d like to get opinions on this

This is more “new character experience” see personally i don’t want to explore the whole world over and over again on each of my classes(or professions) and i tend to level them in WvW.

See previously there was no negative part on leveling a character in WvW, however now if you do you won’t get your traits unlocked via a tome you just buy, if you want “alternatively” you can buy each individual trait priced and over TEN TIMES what it used to cost + skill points that you now have to spend as well.

It’s a very restricting experience for new characters, as well as not getting a skill point per level till LVL80 we get them all every X levels, meaning there is less to look out for, as many of us spend the points as we get them.

In some ways the system has improved but the the negatives far out weight the positives

Can an Engineer build do this?

The flamethrower got a big buff, and i do use it in PvE when i level or during meta events, in PvP i’ve tried it however since i’m a condition engineer i forget to change from my flamethrower to my condition dealing weapons, as flamethrower only has burn and blind as far as conditions go.

In WvW in zergs the flamethrower can be usefull to mass hit everyone as well, because flame jet(primary flamethrower skill) doesn’t seem to have a target limit, meaning it could hit 10 target, although my beef with the flamethrower(in pvp) is that the hitbox can feel weird and clunky

still besides this it’s great

How are engineers?

in Engineer

Posted by: Exeon.4358

Exeon.4358

I’d say that engineers are probably one of the most versatile classes in the game, they can adapt to many situations with their large amount of skills available.
However they aren’t always easy to play and it’s easy to get lost in the kit’s available at first.

Still when played correctly they are amazing and have a fair matchup against any situation….granted that depends on the kits used and your current build(condition engineer doesn’t tend to match well vs an anti-conditon mesmer in PvP for instance….)

If i’m not mistaken there was a guardian build out there that is a zerker build and has the healing of a cleric build, though mind you, you will take a ton of damage due to having low armor nonetheless.

Downed Smoke Bomb Skill - Tips?

Downed state is generally only going to do something in PvE or PvP, in WvW it “can” do something if your at the endphase of a blob v blob and you can last long enough to revive because of a death.

That aside i believe thieves have one of the best downed states in the game, alongside mesmers and necros(seriously the necro damage in downed state can be ridiculous)

Can an Engineer build do this?

in Engineer

Posted by: Exeon.4358

Exeon.4358

I actually play an engineer just how you describe it apart from the AA(if your doing PvP)

Use Rabid gear and runes of the undead, giving your engineer a ton of condition damage, using a sigil of torment on your weapon, which is generally going to be a pistol/shield

Engineers aren’t as tanky as say guardians, however their resilience comes from the amount of healing you can do with your healing turret(picking it up making your heal 14? second cooldown, or using an AOE healing blast for grouping)
In PVP/WvW engineers also use the tool kit which has a shield for 3 seconds blocking everything

In sPVP and WvW most engineers have crazy mobility because they use rocket boots as you mentioned, and one of their traits(costs 2 points) allows them to have Swiftness 100% of the time by swapping kits as well as vigor on swiftness meaning when you change a kit you gain swiftness/vigor giving a ton of mobility, and dodge potencial.

What this type of engineer lacks is burst, meaning most of your damage is sustained and you will outlast your opponents more then anything while watching them have EVERY condition besides fear and see them burn down.

And last but not least, an engineer is cheap to build, Undead runes cost 1 Silver each i believe, the most expensive piece would be the sigil of torment for 10G’s

Anyhows i have a mesmer and i’m pretty sure you will be happy with your engineer

The only grudge i have with this game is the amount of grind, despite developers during development stating they are against grinding “looks at legendary weapons”

But there is enough endgame, WvW, sPvP, Dungeons and fracticals besides live story update and constant meta-events

Even though i miss the good old hardcore raiding MMO’s, it wouldn’t fit GW2, as there are no real roles here, meaning 5 players or 12 wouldn’t really change difficulty besides overcomplicating things

In dungeons i generally go for debuffing and healing, it’s quite amazing the amount of healing you can do as an engineer

In PVP/WvW I’ve seen 2 different “good” builds IMO
The well known Condition damage engineer which is based on applying every condition besides fear on your opponent, while having quite some survivability to outlast opponents.
You also have a ton of mobility, infinite swiftness and it’s hard to both catch and escape an engineer.

The other build I’ve seen around is a heavy might stacked rifle build that will feature some heavy hitting crits, sacrifing survivability though and going with more of a zerker type of build
