A problem is Chrono offers such basic quality of life features that it pretty much “fixes” what is wrong with core Mesmer – for example Chronophantasma, Time Catches Up, Time Marches On, Illusionary Reversion…

I mean, look how tied we were to Duelling for DE before HoT. Now it’s Inspiration because it offers so much in terms of survival and Chrono because DE isn’t mandatory anymore.

What I don’t like is how trait lines are such All or Nothing choices – it forces builds into any given line depending on the state of the game.
Want passable condi cleanse? Must take Inspiration. Want to play conditions? Must take Illusions. What decent clone/phantasm generation? Must take Duelling and/or Chronomancer. Want to play dps? Must take Domination.

I just don’t agree with the “high level” theory behind what trait lines should be as it creates forced choices and restrictions, and mesmer is especially subject to this problem.

Just a question. How do you suggest they set up the trait system? Be able to take any trait and any utility and have it work with any weapon on any class with any amulet in any situation? What would be the point of builds? Each trait line, as you’ve stated, serves a purpose. You have options for everything. Take what you want but know that you’ll be lacking in certain areas, unless you want to have everything which would, again, make builds pointless.

Grind Wars is a named deserve by over 90% of MMORPGs imo. It was easy to obtain gold in GW1 just by salvaging for the materials and selling the mats in Kamadan.

It’s much harder in GW2 due to many circumstance, we should also not ignore the elephant in the corner either, that it’s very alluring for a business model to have vested interest in making it harder due to the cash > gems > gold path way they have built into the game, and if you’re the beholder of a cynical attitude you can see that caked over every part of the game as a whole, the most difficult of questions to ask how to fairly balance the issue for both the company and the user of the system so that both are equally rewarded.

GW1 System was far superior when it comes to the economy, if only because you couldn’t buy gold “legally” you had to earn it.

There were more bots in GW1 than in GW2, there was another great purging of bots in GW1 in 2014. Several GW1 players turn to illegal sites, since you could not buy currency legally in GW1 with real money. GW1 is superior in several areas but when it comes to preventing bots GW2 wins, imo.

Bots have been in gw2 by thousands people just don’t bother looking for them.
I have been watching some of them in orr with high ap.
which could mean its hacked acccount.

In Tera human is the least played race. Elins,Elf and castanic are way more popular.

The only challenging part is finding a decent group for raid.

Gw1 also had a cool dance for every class and gender while in gw2 there is one boring one for each race. Best one is the Sylvania dance imo.

Now that the HoT meta is starting to settle anyone else notice that a handful of elites have become nearly unkillable in skirmish without heavy focus and many of these builds maintain a solid DPS?

Sustain has become too prolific in my opinion at least on builds that can output decent DPS. I have completely stopped engaging Dragon Hunters, Tempests and Scrappers. Any of the bunker Chronomancers also get a pass.

Not sure if this is a good or bad thing but a lot of fights have become an exercise in futility or a bring three friends sort of deal.

This is where being rubbish at 1v1 has it’s benefits. I can’t tell if someone amazing killed me or whether is was an OP class. I’ll always say it’s an OP class tbh.

No one has to be rubbish at 1v1 anymore.

If you are, just pick up one of the pay2win elites.

Nothing in this game is pay2win, quit misusing the term.

Considering the balance between elite specializations and core, the game absolutely is P2W.

But they turned the Gw2 cap into a armor piece too.
It was in the Gemstore for around 2 weeks after the game’s launch, so not everyone has it.

A heck of a lot more people got that cap than the few hundred that got the shirt. The shirt required you to go to a convention, possibly on another continent, and be one of the few to get the card with the code, at most a few hundred people got it. The hat was given to anyone who logged on during that period of time (which was a time when most of the 2 million or so people who had bought the game at launch were still actively playing) and got it for free from the gem store by pushing a button.

It’s a matter of time and money. The cap was common enough that they decided it was worth the time and money spent to convert it to an armor piece. The shirt is so rare that probably only a handful of current players have it and since it’s a commemorative piece, I don’t see them making it widely available. They never have before to my knowledge.

40% is the macro performance, the entire CPU average across all cores. However the game’s main event thread, like any thread, can’t exceed the performance of a single core. This is a primary factor that limits overall frame rate since this main thread is looping for every frame. Therefore overclocking the CPU, or using a CPU that can do more instructions per second, will allow more loops of this thread in the same amount of time and thus more frames.

Now there’s a 2nd major thread, actually a pair, which is the calls to Dx9 in the game and the graphics driver. Together these pair of threads also don’t exceed the performance of a single core and usually takes less time to run than the primary thread. Improving your GPU reduces the overall time of the driver thread takes to run but the pair is dependent on the main thread to assemble all the information for the next frame, the performance gain isn’t as great as games where GPU performance is the bottleneck.

This information is from watching the various threads in the game code running while playing.

I dont want to get started on this topic but in my case .

I’m running a rather beefy CPU overclocked to 4.9GHz, and it’s still CPU bound. I’d say don’t spend your money and instead just save up for something else. Unless you somehow can get a 6GHz CPU, I’d say you won’t see much improvement with GW2.

(or somehow you convince ANet to update their engine to something less CPU bound.)

So i did go to the dessert map today to the commander tag we were FIVE people !
all the other borders was dead all we did was run back and fourth to do supplyruns.
there was literally NO enemies around we capped one tower then i was bored already.
WHY is nobody playing? I know you cant claim towers for some reason anymore

Its still not a bad choice. I’m using lga 1366 and it works flawless for my 60hz monitor.

Point is, since Ivybridge there has been no serious CPU gaming performance increase. And DDR4 makes no different compared to DDR3, because its in dual channel mode.

There is NO POINT in buying Skylake if you are on 3rd gen or newer Intel i5’s or i7’s. Just look at the benchmarks.

X99 is not the ‘best’, they are really completely different. They use QPI instead of DMI to talk to the chipset, they offer more PCIE lanes, and exceed the standard 4 core count (current are 6 and 8, Broadwell-e is bringing 10core for the top end CPU).

and dont take my word for it, do your own research. start by looking at the benchmark review i linked. You will see just how much of a ‘difference’ there really is between CPUs for gaming.

Everyone knows green win every time there.
Players occasionally go there to stomp uplevels.
there is no motivation for them to actually play eotm.
Im positive about this change but have to play it first.
The community in my server were great.
Until guilds came and think their our boss telling us what we can or cant do.
So in terms of community this alliance thing wont change much for me.
