All ranged classes already shut down thief with 1 abilility big deal.
u hit them so hard they have to reset the fight in meanwhile u kill all his friends thats why more than 1 theif on team is detrimental.
I have yet to see anyone slot in reveal skill just to kill 1 theif.

How is it getting buffed? they nerf base condition dmg and they add the new boon which make players immune to conditions sounds like a big nerf to me.
In pvp all i see is power builds occasionally a sword condition ranger which just die.
The condition numbers are not final so rly gotta play it to know for sure.

Some like to look heroic, yes.
But my character doesn’t look all that heroic when she doesn’t have the build needed to swing around that greatsword she is carrying around. Don’t need to be a bodybuilder, but athletic would be nice.

Thats why this game was more balanced in beta when players were getting 2 shotted by zerker builds u think in counter strike a good player would be able to kill the whole team if they nerfed damage of all weapons by 10x ? No

To all the people who say “well if the thief disengages, then you just won the fight,” that’s oftentimes not true because of the thief’s superior mobility and ability to +1 other fights.
Let’s say the thief hops to your home point and starts to decap. You’re playing your A game, so you see the thief heading there and get to home point before he finishes decapping. You fight a bit, outplay him, and land a nasty burst. He stealths + disengages. At this point, you’re in a bind: The thief can very quickly go back to mid (and heal back to full health due to breaking combat), in which case it becomes a temporary 5v4 against your team because you’re still at home. Or, if you expect that and immediately start moving back to mid, he can quickly circle back and finish the decap once you step off home point. Or, as a third option, if you happen to be low on cooldowns (say, you’re a fresh air ele or a mesmer who popped obsidian flesh / distortion during the fight to avoid a big burst), the thief could re-open w/ a backstab + panic strike proc and just down you.
This same dilemma really applies no matter what point you’re fighting on. If the thief “disengages” from a teamfight, he’ll just decap your home point. Obviously, a good thief is not going to sit on the sidelines camping stealth until he can hop back into the fight.
I wouldn’t exactly call the above a “loss” for the thief, even though he disengaged.
No sane thief will invest in shadow arts. For the simple reason that thieves atm are either go burst or go home. Nothing else works…i assume after the trait update thieves will go deadly arts/acrobatics/trickery and/or replacing one of those for critical strikes(for panic strike and hidden killer/executioner) and overall higher critical rate.
Shadow arts will still make no sense in conquest unless you really want to kitten off someone but you can forget about winning the game.
You’ve kinda just outed yourself as someone who doesn’t know your own class… Most of the top thieves are running DP panic strike, which is Deadly Arts + Shadow Arts + Trickery. What the new changes will let you do is max out shadow arts for free. Also, taking SA will be even less of a sacrifice once they decouple stats from traits.
What you should be saying is that no sane thief will camp stealth in a conquest game, which is accurate. But SA still offers a lot of passive survivability even if you’re not camping stealth, and it also further reduces the counterplay to stealth.
There is one reason why some diehards still play the class that is mobility everything else others do better. Im suprised their still in the meta cuz i can kill every single theif i face in soloq with multiplie builds kill or stalemate its win/win to me.

Whats fun if players go to bed? If I want to do karma train I can switch to a different border land or play eotm. At least on SFR there are quite a few commanders who rather go sleeping, too, if the enemies go sleeping because karma train is not what they are looking for.
I would rather wipe on purpose every now and then just to not make the enemies quit (its both more fun and good to advance my achievement if there are enemies around)

You specifically brought up an anecdote about a group that apparently couldn’t clear content until they swapped to berserker gear. What you can infer from that is that that specific group in that specific situation was failing because they didn’t have enough DPS. It doesn’t follow that that’s a normal situation faced by every group.
Yea actually that remind me of doing dredge fractal with players on tanky/random builds we target a mob and it takes so long to chew trough that 200k hp silver mob
we get it down to 30% before we all get killed. Then i go with pro players and we just steamroll trough the whole sewer like its a walk in the park.
Those dredge hit the same dmg on the tanky players as the zerker mb 20% less dmg at most but at the expense of getting overrun and running out of cooldowns.
In tier 1 it is not that big of a problem. If you are constantly running pin snipe you will probably get ridiculed not only by your opponents but by your own fellow servers guilds. Pin snipping is not looked very highly upon as it just ruins fights and makes them generally unfun. Super chessy. I guess in the lower teir it could be a problem though as the wvw communities are not as developed.

Well, certainty some compositions can be weaker than others, for sure. Two glassy thieves can be countered rather easily if you think about it, but if, for example, the other team had three Rangers that turned out to be full on zerky pew pew, the thieves would be very welcome.

No. Stacking glassy thieves is useless. Infact the best random team i had was 4 rangers and 1 warrior on foefire we won against premade they barely got to 100 points.
1 Ranger can kill a busy theif with 1 button.
U never played ranger if u think that make them very welcome.

Still dosen’t mean i cant run every single program out there.
Only one time have i seen double theif team win that was on khylo before the teleport nerf and they were premades otherwise its always the losing team always.
