Hi guys,
I’ve been very frustrated with GW2 lately. It was crashing to black screen anywhere from 30min to 3hours. I tried everything including reformatting the HDD and installing GW2 fresh. Turns out it was TS3 64bit causing it to crash.
I then tried out TS3 32bit. No issues currently.
Just thought you guys might want to know.
FW
Hello Rosebud,
There is no need for sarcasm, we are all adults here.
There’s folks who are on either ends of the pve-wvw spectrum who wouldn’t be dragged into the respective game modes. Just because we are not build that way psychologically.
FW
Thanks ANET, I mean, last month it was soooo hard to take an hour out of my busy schedule and run 5x CoF p1…….
Dear Anet,
I sincerely thank you for a monthly without dungeons. I believe a lot of WvWers have given up on monthlies and are extremely elated that this one does not include dungeons.
Perhaps giving PvE and WvW folks choices (like the new dailies) in monthlies will help both types of players?
FW
You should be booted after 15 minutes.
However you keep switching armor, it’s indefinite.
FW
If you want to frontline as a commander, it’s better to go guardian or warrior in T1-T3. Otherwise T4-T8 pretty much any profession with bunker stats and armor (PVT) is fine.
FW
Hi guys,
It seems that culling (and SM lag) is megaworse after the recent patch. Much worse than December. And I hear of WvW folks in T1/T2 servers laying off WvW for the time being. Is this true?
FW
Hello,
Do you mean beating Kain by score or killing our Kain zergs?
By Score
Kain has close to a 24/7 coverage much like the T2/T1 servers. You’ll have to get NA, Oceanic & EU guilds to join the server. This is accomplished by politics, diplomacy and negotiations. It’s a meta-game in itself.
By killing Kain zergs
The average Kain is not in full exotics, both armor and accessories. Even if it’s full exotics, 70-80% are in beserker gear. Most are low health at <15k. Most are not group traited (eg 70tough guardian group utility etc)
Your server will have to form zerg busting group of about 10-15+, with good group mix of guardian, warrior, mesmer, thieves, etc. All group members need to purchase food and oil/stone for full effectiveness. However, the key is training, the zerg busters will need to run about 4-6hrs a day practicing group movement like feints, flanks, use of mesmer portals and veils etc. Group members need to have group utility traited for maximum effectiveness.
The key to breaking zergs is to catch them in the open field while on transit. So a network of scouts need to be setup, to report movement. That is key.
Good hunting,
FW
Soo…
Anyone got tips to beat Kaineng?
Dont want it to be a total blowout on reset =|
Hello Caliburn,
Thank you for your keen insight. However, I might have to disagree on this point.
At this point in time, I find the average Maguma soldier (militia) has a better WvW skillset than the average Kaineng soldier (being thoroughly objective here). Esp dealing with the art of skirmish, siege, battle awareness, class min/max. However, I feel that most Kaineng folks commanders and soldiers alike are keen to unlearn bad habits and learn good ones. That is something I find really comforting.
There is even more training to be done I feel. I am glad we got to fight DB and Mag, I totally respect the battlefield skills of your respective groups. /salute
I sincerely wish you the best in the battlefield,
FW
Hmm, a couple misconceptions going around.
1) Player “skill” is a silly generalization to make, especially when you sweep entire server populations into it. DB/Mag players are not more skilled than Kain players, nor vice versa. The average player skill across all three servers is about the same. All three servers have players who are above average, and players who are below average.
Hello Kfarb,
I see, perhaps that is an double edged sword. But nonetheless, it’s really great to see that level of coordination (i mean it). I think it’s really interesting to see what different servers excel in from T8 to T3, I hope we get to learn more from you guys and apply the lessons.
FW
Our “militia” is just Maguuma. The guild part of gw2 isn’t as important as people seem to think it is.
Hello Iani,
(No sarcasm intended)
In all sincerity, I thank DB and Mag giving KN guilds and militia valuable lessons. Please continue to teach. /salute
To be frank, it’s fortunate KN didn’t skip T3 as DB and Mags have formidable militia coordination and it’s indeed a good thing to learn from DB and Mag. KN WvWers still have a lot to learn about coordination, comms & control.
Good hunting in the week,
FW
DB took Kaineng’s Garrison with outmanned buff. It started as a joke and turned into a bigger joke. I feel sadness for Kaineng, and like you our main force appears in the middle of the night while we NA sleep. The difference between us is that we had the opportunity to learn with each new tier and opponent. DB never really steamrolled through one tier we always had a good fight on our hands as we moved up. This is your NA ’s time to learn.

Hello Centrix,
What are you system specs besides the SSD? For the rest of the folks who have culling fixed, please let us know your system spec. It’s too early to say, but it seems there’s a pattern here.
1. CPU
2. Ram
3. Storage type
Thanks,
FW
Yep I have GW2 on an SSD too and I highly doubt that has anything to do with it :P
But apparently for some people it’s fixed…
Hi!
I am curious, is your GW2.exe or dat file on a SSD drive.
For those who are having issues, you are guys on normal HDDs or SSDs?
FW
I have high end machine and its an improvement for me and my guildies.
I can see the enemy coming and appearing out of portals way faster. I know where my guild is I don’t need to see them all as long as we all push at the same time we can still bust a Zerg.
I can see that pug groups need to see each other so maybe prioritizing your commanders could help? But for organised. Groups it’s all about seeing the enemies so for me the new culling gets two thumbs up.
Hello guys,
With the deadline fast approaching for transfers, I feel compelled to report about Kaineng’s current state of battlefield readiness for T2/T3.
As we all know, due to coverage and the huge number of militia in WvW, the scores really tell the story. And as CD and YB folks have stated, the KN WvW militia are not 100% trained yet.
T2/T3 will be at least 3 to 4 times tougher than the current tier and will test the mettle of even the strongest guilds in KN. I strongly urge KN folks to strongly reconsider how KN will fare in the coming matchups and consider the 28 Jan deadline for transfer if you don’t feel ready.
(Note: no sarcasm intended in the writeup)
FW
Uh huh. By all means, after you
Edit: I do believe he means those who may have joined up for an easy ride and may not be happy with a tougher tier. I say they stay and get used to it or join PVE.
Aye I mean that. I have good news to report:
1. We don’t see naked people fighting anymore.
2. Folks are learning not to stand in big red circles, because they know it’s bad for their health.
3. Less bezerky and MF builds. More Tough and Vit.
4. More are learning that arrow carts are better than their bows.
I think we can keep up the training. It’s good.
FW

Hello,
I think one guild cannot bring a server to T1. Unless the guild has 1500+ hardcore wvw players who can maintain a 24/7 coverage.
To be successful in any tier, a server has got to have 4 key essentials:
1. WvW size (right number of WvWers for the right tier)
2. WvW command & control structure (formal or informal)
3. WvW training & expertise
4. WvW community cohesion
What I find great about KN is that the WvW community is willing to learn new things. That in itself is a wonderful thing, there a few QQers, map trolls and detractors who throw out negative stuff in map chat, which affects WvW morale.
Kaineng is a young server, in terms of experience and WvW warfare. However, due to the influx of wvw guilds including CO, EI, RE, SOS, WM, (please forgive if I forget any) the militia are getting trained in terms of siege warfare etc. We still have much to learn as a server.
I am not sure where KN will end up. But win or lose, it’s great to fight alongside folks who won’t go all negative when we lose a battle. That in itself is a gift and a blessing.
Have a great weekend everyone,
FW
Foot Soldier of KN
Hello guys,
Sorry to go off track.
We had 2 of these folks take Aldon’s about 15mins ago. Would some of you know folks from the the Getting Legendary guild (nevr)?
Would like to have a chat with the GM or the server leaders.
Thank you,
FW
Hello Aurust,
Disclaimer: I don’t speak for my guild, only as a member of KN server.
The opposing POVs about KN militia have truth in them.
Though the big guild organized groups like CO, DE, KAIN, RE, SOS, WM, etc (do forgive me if I leave out other guilds) have synergized teams, KN militia have much to experience and learn.
KN militia are young and short on individual class WvW builds, siege, execution of small group tactics (as critickitten and others have mentioned), strategic consideration of objectives, 2v1 knowledge and warfare.
Often overlooked, militia is one of the 3 keys of WvW warfare for any server. WvW in higher tiers often run on a more complex system of inter-guild comms and support structure. Much training is needed but we are pleasantly surprised that most KN militia are positive and willing to learn new things.
FW
Its very interesting watching kain go up through the tiers and wondering how far they can go……
Kain, dont listen to the QQ from these sore losers that still think wvw is some kind of 1v1 skill matchup as opposed to a test of organization, and expect to have fair fights.
Ive been following your matchups and have never seen any chest thumping or gloating from kain, only from their opponents.
Anyway, good luck and maybe we will see you in t1/t2 someday.
(edited by Fannwong.3059)
We are scattered all over the place with the majority of us in crystal desert as far as I know
Aye. Some of SG are in Kaineng also.
And Chris Lee is Panda Warrior atm.
FW
Score updates. Good hunting ladies and gentlemen.
To the GOMs that built 5 trebs 1/2 hour ago on the spawn area of the GOM spawn area to take the GOM keep doors down. Totally ingenious. /salute.
FW
No sarcasm intended. Truly impressive.
The reason I’m even bringing this up is for those people who may not always have friends online or who don’t know anyone on the game. I could see a little bit less zerging? But maybe that’s just me. The way I see it is that the gamer who has no one online tends to migrate to the blue icon on the maps, causing zergs to form.
Hello,
What some folks do is the type in map chat and look for 4-5 other guys to form havok or ninja groups for taking out dolyaks, supply camps and stragglers. You’ll be surprised at how many people are game for going behind enemy lines to harass their stuff. Try it, it’ll be more fun. WvW is really a great place to get people to work together. It’s a MMO, most people in WvW are willing to party up and do something useful.
FW
Hello Chaster,
Thank you for your post. I am an international member of WM (not an officer, just a soldier), I am an English, Mandarin & Fujian speaker but I don’t speak nor understand Korean.
Regarding translation, it’s a bit difficult as most of the Korean members completely do not speak English nor use English as a working language in game. There are only a few translators within the WM community.
I do apologize if the Korean chat has offended the Kaineng community, we really mean no harm.
FW
Hello Kanikani,
I can confirm this. Even in T1, all 3 servers are losing population drastically in WvW. Some more severely than others. PvE esp Fotm are still doing very well.
FW
WvW is already dieing the populations are down mostly across the board. I have spoken to people on many servers who see this trend, and I know many hardcore players that have left. This kind of interview and attitude is what kills MMO’s that is just what it is. If you really think this is good enough see what happens to GW2 in the future. This interview confirms they wvw is very low priority.
