Check the thread from people having the same issue from the 9/9 patch, they still have not fixed anything from 3 months ago. They don’t seem to really care because it is not happening to enough people.

The problem with these threads is that as soon as someone from Anet support posts to a thread it brings out everyone that thinks they have the same problem when in fact this posted issues is most likely effecting a very small number of players. I’m almost positive that 90% or less of the posts are unrelated to the first post. There’s even at least 10 posts that are lag related not do to fps and I just quickly scanned threw the pages there are probliby more. So this is not an accurate measure of the 9/9 patch issue also there are a number of people that may have developed an issue near a patch release date and blame there issues on the patch when it was something totaly unrelated to that patch or update or had the issue all along and not realized it or didn’t care but here comes the patch and people have had issues then they think we’ll I have this issue so its got to be the patch. Blaming one issue related to an old patch to a new issue is not helpful.

If you have to be on wifi then get a good card with an external antena those wifi dongle are junk. A friend of mine was having issues with his wifi connection he was using one of those dongles and every time someone walked across the room he would lose connection. We went to Microcenter, got a card with antena on a 3 foot cable. We were able to place the antena on top of his PC and get full staigth signal with no loss in connection ever. Antena and location is everything when it comes to RF signal.

Ok so I finally gave in and decided to buy guild wars, I just downloaded the installer and every time I run it I receive an error that says “Connection error(s) detected. Retrying…” I tried googling a fix but I came up with nothing. Anyone here know of a way to fix this?

Run the installer in admin mode and turn of Windows and router firewalls

Its anet taking a dump on you. They are scamming new players and so the old players by not fixing the lagg issue that has been ongoing for over 2months by now. Its disgraceful hot anet treats their customers over a problem that should have been solved ages ago.

Yes and it’s all Anet’s falt that the Internet been crap lately 99.9% of all lag and disconnect issues is NOT the falt of Anat, the game or the servers the issues are else where. I’m not going to explain it to you because you will not beleave it anyway and for you to come on these forum and tell a new player what you just posted is not helpful.

The only time you will ever need the key is to prove you are the legal owner of the account, if your account is ever hacked and stolen. You will not need it for any other reason so if for some reason you need to reinstall the client you will not be asked for the key just the email address and password is all you will need to reinstall the client or install on any PC you can install the client as many time as you like with out the key. Also never ever give out your account info to anyone or reply to any emails that look like there from AreaNet or NCSoft. These phishing scams to steal your account. If your account is ever hacked or stolen and Anet detect it they will amedeatly lock your account and the you may need the key to get it unlocked. You can protect your account by using a strong password that is not easy to guess. You would be surprised how many people use PASSWORD for their password or 1234… These are the first a hacker try’s also using the same password for every account you have is a big no no

Yes it is worth taking a second look with the living story and the new areas opening up the game is still fun to play, I like the Silverwaste the best so far. Unfortunately for you if you haven’t been logging I to the gave to grab the living story content on at least one charature you may have to buy the suff you missed I think there is a way to buy living story season 2 chapters threw the gem store not sure how this works. They are free if you logged in during the time period of each chapter and accepted the chapter on each charature you have or at least one. I’m not sure if the new areas require you to have the living store chapter for that area.

Most likely there will be a expansion next year I’m thinking right around the third anaversory of Guildwars2. This being the 10th anaversory of the GuildWars franchise they really need something big to go with that event why not a expansion and also maybe new content in Guildwars1. With the desaster that was Wildstar the only thing Ncsoft has making any money right now is guildwar2 and maybe Aoin. So they need a new cash flow. What better way than a payed Guildwars2 expantion

Exseption error c0000005 is usualy cause from outdated or incompidibe video card drivers. You say you have updated drivers is your motherboard chipset drivers up to date, this may cause an incompidibility issues with your video card drivers. Have you tried to role back your video card drivers, sometimes new driver can cause issues in games. Also is there any other app or programs trying to access the video card at the same time the game does.

Maybe are you running anything or downloading during game play or it just may be the Internet.

If you are having the lag issues you need to post your ISP, what part of the world you are trying to connect from like country, state, province, do not post your exact location but in general. Also the ip of the server you are connecting to (in game type /ip in the chat window). Then any trace rout or ping path info you have. The reason for this is to determen where the issue is. It may be a reginal issue, or one specific ISP and yes it might even be a specific game server. It also could be in the rout to the game server, so instead of complaining lets all try to work together and figure this out.

There are several threads on this subject and it was suppose to be in the game at launch but didn’t make it, maybe some day hopfuly. With several new games out or coming out with this feature I’m hopful anet will take the time to work on this project again real soon. Hopfuly it will be the build your own type and not the cookie cutter pre fab.

If the game is running ok on the current driver then there’s no need to update. if you are looking to get a performance boost from the new drivers probliby will not give you much if any, so if it no broke don’t fix it.

The problem lies with KERNELBASE.dll it might be corrupted or some other app is using it at the same time the game is trying to use it or you have a virus or malware using it as a backdoor.

Unfortunately this is the only fix for this issue, you could try freeing up a little ram by disabling some of the stuff you have running in the background while playing the game. Sometimes this helps.

Another reason for the lag issues could be related to the weather, for the past two weeks most of the U.S. has been having below normal temperatures this equates to more people staying indoors. So what do you do besides the obvious thing that causes a population spike nine months after a weather event like this. Everyone and his cousin are on the Internet, so there you go live with it it’s not going to improve any time soon. I just popped into another famos on line game’s tech support forum that has a monthly sub and WoW every other post is lag and latency issues, so it’s just not GuidWars it all online gaming.

Read and post from phone and iPad when out and about play at home but real life gets in the way of play time so I can’t play as much as I like to.

Unfortunately the problem is that you are running the 32bit version of Windows so you need to reinstall Windows with the 64 bit version the 32 bit version only allocates 3.5 gigs of ram for programs and apps, where the 64bit version allows up to 8gigs of ram regardless of how much system ram you have installed. That is why you are getting an OOM error (Out Of Memery).

If this were a server side issue then it would effect everyone, sorry this is not the case. Unfortunately the Internet is a really fickle place right now with governments sorting out net nutrallity laws, ISPs throttling connection, backbone providers selling off bandwidth to the highest bidders and bad or poorly maintain infrastructure. It’s not just GuildWars you go to any online game support forums and the number one complaint is lag and disconnects. I’m just saying it most likely is not the game but the Internet in general and I don’t think there is a fix for it any time soon. Just give it a day or two maybe it will clear it self up or submit a support ticket.

Lag and fps issues are not necesaroly related just because your fps is normal does not mean you are not having a connection issue. There is most likely something going on in the rout your being directed in to connect to the game servers you need to do a ping path or trace rout to determine if there are any issues between you and the game servers

Wow if everyone is lagging, then I should be to but I’m not, so everyone is not lagging.

The only problem with mounts is that it adds another element that your system has to render, this will slow fps even further. Sorry no mounts.

Maybe you have a bad Ethernet cable and it was fine before you changed things and it just had a bad crimped on jack when you moved the cables around and unplugged stuff just that movement messed up the cable try a new cable.

Wow that’s really odd try copying the game into a new folder and lunch the game from gw2.exe in the new folder instead of the desktop short cut. This might start the game without effecting the registry.

Check how much free space is on your hard drive also is would be very helpful if you would post your system specs and any crash logs. Just to let you know the is most likely something on your system and it it more likely that it just was a coincident that it happens with the update or it would be effecting more people I and all my in game friends and guildies have had no problems from any resent updates.

Commander tag is very useful in a lot of ways especially in a party or in dungeons but as a leadership role it take the right person to be a true commander. Anets made a big mistake when they made the commander tag a purchased item with in game gold. it should have been some system in place to earn it. The maps are getting to clutter with commander tags with to many people with the tag that shouldn’t have it, its turn into a status symbol more than what it was intended for. There need to be a system to limit its use.

Be very careful where you get the game from getting it anywhere except the official site could contain key logger exploit to steel your account.

Looking in at the specs online of you netbook I don’t think it can run the game in the manner you are trying. For one thing you are using Wine that emulates Windows inside of Linux. This is using system resources next you are trying to run a game on possibly the barest minimum the game may run on. Yes your system has Intel HD graphics but I can’t determine what version. Next the processor is just a duel core celeron so very limited and last the thing only has a 16gig SSD not near enough drive space for the OS Linux Wine and the game. GuildWars2 requires at least 20gigs+ of hard drive space. Yes you could run it from an SD card or a external hard drive but the system power is not there. Good luck!

First it is a very bad thing to post your email address you used for your account it makes it easier for hackers to steel your account. Second what are the specs for the cromebook I’m thinking that a cromebook doesn’t have the power to run this game. Cromebooks are basically just for Internet applications. You will need at least a duel core processor and Intel HD 4400 graphics or better to get any playable frame rates. My laptop with I5 duel core and HD 4400 graphics runs the game at 25 to 40 fps and drops to single digit fps in large Zergs ,just bairly playable. All in game graphics setting are set to medium and low so I’m thinking the problem is your system. Some people play this game in Linux with mixed results I think the GuildWar2 Wiki has a tutorial on how to get the game running in Linux, this may help you.

Maybe anet could supply the 3d rendering for a fee and then we can use the data for what ever we want, short of any commercial or profit that way we would get the 3D renderings and Anet could make money off of it. Please make this happen, I would love a real figures of my characters.

Are you crashing or are you losing connection, these are two seprite issues. Most likely you are losing connection and Skype for some reason is keeping your connection open. It sounds to me you may be infected with some virus or malware forcing you threw a proxy.

Is HP sanitizer installed on you system if so that is most likely the culprit have you checked into this just because you never used it doesn’t mean it’s not running in the background.

I also never had any issues like this and I use MSE on all my systems are you sure you don’t have another AV installed. Or possibly a failing hard drive, as for MSE being junk it works for me but I am very careful on what I download and the site I visit especially on my gaming system. Also where did you get your information that MSE is bad, if it’s one of those pay for sertification .Org sites that have popped up lately naturally they are going to say that MSE is the wurst. How long do you think they will stay in business if they gave MSE a good rating.

The only real fix for this it to reinstall Windows with the 64bit version you are running the 32bit version. Yes GuildWars2 is a 32bit game but the 3.5 gig limitation of Windows 32bit is causing the game to run out of memery if you reinstall with the 64bit version of Windows it gives programs and app up to 8 gigs ram to work with instead of 3.5gigs in the 32bit version of Windows. You don’t need to perchase a new copy of Windows a you need is the 64bit version of the flavor of Windows you are running like home premium.

Feirlista I’m gonna politely disagree with your post here. I bought my disks in May of 2013 and installed 16 or 18 GB and downloaded an additional 4 GB to 4.5 GB. If anything the amount of content downloaded if installed through the disks now is going to be up to 6.5 GB.

Yes but have you used your disks lately I thinkthe disks became obsolete after the April feature pack release.

Yes AVG use to be one of the best AVs around now it turned into an over protective bloatware junk. I think the sugcess went to there heads and tried to turn themselfs into another Norton’s.

First of post your system specs and crash logs second check the inside of your system sounds like you may be over heating. When’s the last time you had the case open on your system. Desktop PCs are dust magnets even in the cleanest of houses. If it’s a laptop dust and lint can be sucked into the cooling vents restricting air flow. Also to much heat can dry out heat sink compound on your cpu this may need the be changed out.

I had a disconnect last night the second since beta also I had lag in Netflixs I think there may have been some issues with the Internet beyond Anets control last night it seem to be fine today. ISP Comcast in Denver. CO USA , could be a regenal thing.

Without Japanese support in the game looks like you will just have to remember to switch it back after you finish playing. We had a guy from Japan in our guild for a while he never had an issue with it or if he did he never said anything about it so don’t know what to tell you.

Sorry but no, depending on your internet speed it will take anywhere from a few hours to overnight. You are downloading 18+GB, be patient you will get it eventually.

Shut down all antivirus and malware apps, turn of fire walls in windows and your router. make sure the installer is running in admin mode.

Try setting the laptops power management in Windows to high performance when plugged in then try running the game make sure the power adapter is plugged in

Here’s the thing with most online games, over time the game just changes so much that the original disks become coffee coasters, there is no way to use the disks anymore. I warned people at launch of this game that anyone that get the game on disk the disks will become obsolete because of how the game will change over time. So your only hope is to download the installer and wait till you get it all with your slow internet, or find a freind or relative that has faster internet install the game on their system then copy the gw2.dat file this is the file that takes so long to download it’s about 18+GB by now so you will need a 36GB flash drive copy the file on. It takes me about 2 hours to get the game with my internet speed so just let it do its thing over night. If it takes any longer for you.
