The question is are you lagging that Ping is not to bad. People play on worse ping then that and do not have lag. It looks like your are having issues with packet loss from tedata.net this is outside of Anet control good luck:

The best you may be hoping for is if NcSoft opens up servers in S Korea but so fare there has been no indication that they plan to do this.

It most likely the backbone provider your ISP is connected to have your tried to run a ping path app to determine where the fault lies. also with all the hacking coming China and North Korea I’m sure the government is monitoring all Internet traffic coming out of the that area of the world so if your routed threw some of the same rout to the U.S. then these areas are then good luck.

I don’t know if everyone was effected but that bug a couple of days ago might have been the April fools joke. When my character was saying all the different saying that each race says, that was kind of funny hearing my female ranger talk in a male voice I’m thinking they released it by accident.

Well you all know the old saying “there is a sucker born every minute”. That’s what the scammers are hoping for.

This is a phishing scam Anet is fully aware of it, your account is fine as long as you have not responded to the link in the email, just block, report, and delet that’s all you can do

Yes I’m getting this also kind of cool to hear your toon say something different but this could get anoying realy quick.

This looks like a bug, I lost almost 35fps, I moved the collition slider to the left, and got most of my fps back. Then moved the FOV to the center then fps dropped by about 45 then I clicked on Restore Defaults and it went back up to 80 fps. I’m not sure but it looks to be an issue with the new camera system try moving the sliders around then click on the Restore Defaults this may fix it it did for me for the time being.

Compared to what? Post some screen shots. I play with most ingame setting high to medium and this game just blows every MMO I’ve tried away. The game is one of the most scenic and well design graphicly out there even on my crappy laptop where the setting are medium or mostly low. I’m thinking you have some issue with your graphics card.

I have basically the same laptop and I get 30 to 40 fps and as low as 15 in large zergs with setting medium to low with terrain and sky turned off. I also suggest that you get at least 8Gigs of ram if possible a solid state hard drive. As soon as you get the new laptop the first thing you need to do is get rid of all the craptastic apps and programs that the laptop manufactures puts on it, 99% you will not use anyway so you done need it slowing down your system. Also get rid of the antivirus they install it’s usually McGaffees and it a big resource hog. Get a more gamer friendly AV.

No to precurcer, but I’m torn between getting a unique mini that you can’t get unless you have an account at that time or a random mini from all the collection sets. I use to think the unique mini kind of sucked but than I thought about it and kind of like it now. Also it would be cool if Anet could make it where your oldest character gets the new unique mini and all your younger alts get a random mini when they get to their birthday. I like one unique mini but there is no use for more than one so giving the same mini to all characters on your account really need to change. Maybe they can make it selectable in some way like in some reward chests where you can choose what weapon or armer you want. It can be a gift box with the option to pick that years unique mini or a random one.

Have you checked for over heating this is the most commen cause of freezes, lockup, and shut downs. Open up the case and take the system outside and blow it out with canned air or an air compressor do not do it inside the same room your system is in because your system will suck all that dust back in that is floating around your room after you just cleaned it. Also make sure all fans are running and there is plenty of space around your system and nun of the vents or fans are blocked by objects around your system.

If this is a new computer then I’m guessing you have installed something that is conflicting with the game that you also hade installed on your old computer.

Wow this is a rare one for this game, Google searching this error find there are a number of reason you are getting this error top of the list viruses, next corrupt Windows files, and a bad hard drive just to name a few. It is not game related but an issue with Windows. Good luck

There the copyright issue here any reference outside a licensed Star Trek franchise may get Anet in trubble, but some vague remark like some Asuran NPC saying “live long and conquer” may be doable.

Are you sure you deleted screen shots, where was the files located, I think the screen shots are in My documents if these files were in the game folder then maybe you deleted needed files by accident. Try reinstalling the game see is that helps you can move the gw2. Dat file to a differnt location. Then reinstall the game, this will put back the files you may have deleted. Then when the reinstall gets to the point of that long download, close out of the installer and copy back the gw2.dat file back into where you are installing the game. Good luck

The biggest problem with some people’s ego they can’t play a game without the setting set to max when the game is quite payable at 30fps with medium to high in game setting. Unless they get 200fps they just won’t play because they think they are computer experts and they have the best system ever made and they should be able play at max setting. Sorry folks not in this game, in this game it’s a balancing act between eye candy and fps. Recently I turn off reflection and got a boost of 10 to 15fps and the game looks fine without it.

Another issues with the gods gift to the computer world people, is that most of them have so much craptastic eye candy malware junk apps and programs running in the background that the system is so bogged down that it suprized me that anything will run on there system. This game is very CPU intensive and most of the graphic rendering is done in the CPU, so if your CPU is bogged down running other crap then expect low fps. Also it’s always been a good idea to reinstall Windows at least once a year, when is the last time anyone has done that. Try it you might get a big suprized how well this game runs on a clean system with out any junk running in the background.

No it run fine on multi for CPUs I get 80 to 100fps most of the times and rarely drop below 30 on my I5 in large groups and all in game setting are set to high or medium. The main problem is the brand of CPU. If you are running an AMD CPU that don’t do very well with single threaded games. The game will use multiple cores but only runs in one thread. The Intel CPUs do better over the AMD as much as 65% so there you go. Also this game is very CPU based and doesn’t do much of the rendering in the GPU so if you have a tuns of stuff running in the background while playing the game you may get some performance loss.

Since they did it for PAXsouth, they might do it again for PAXEast check back in March and see.

Probably not the game is written to support a wide range of CPU time line and was developed only for dx9 the game engine would have to be totally rewritten to support the dx11 or 12. The game runs better on the Intel processors do to their ability to preform better with single threaded apps. The game will use multiple cores but only runs in a single thread. Unfortunately AMD processors don’t do very well with single threaded apps.

If you still have your old pc just copy the gw2.dat file from your old pc to your new pc with a 32gig flash drive or portible hard drive. Put the file in the folder that contains the game and copy over the old gw2.dat file.

How did you get enough gold to buy gems on a 3 day old account. Not accusing you of anything but did you buy gold from one of the in game gold spammers if so this is not legal in this game and hope you don’t lose your account completely. Also there may be a time limit for buying gems with a new account to prevent the above from happening

The reason Anet doesn’t respond to every lag or DC thread is because there is nothing they can do. The Internet is not a perfect word righ now you may be able to play one game just fine and the other you gat lag well not all game servers are located in the same place in the world so when one rout is fine may be the other is having issues. Go right now and look at any online game support forum and tell use what the number one complaint is. Guess what folks it’s lag all I’m saying, whether you beleave it or not, lag is effecting all online gaming not just GuildWars so until the powers that be do something to correct the problem we will have lag not every will lag but some will and coming on to the forums ranting about how bad Anet is and I can play game so and so because there is no lag well go pay that game then come back to this one and see if it cleared up.

The game is most likely is using the onboard Intel video, you will need to force the laptop to make the game run only on the AMD Radeon card to do this set the windows power management to high performance with the AC adapter plugged in. Then run the game with the ac adapter plugged. Doing this on battery alone will drain the battery very quickly. There are other ways of doing this like disabling the Intel graphics in the bios but this will effect battery life so if you plan to use the battery for other perposes, it’s best to do the power management thing.

Feirlista Xv I’m so glad your not experiencing any lag, but unless you have a CONSTRUCTIVE answer to our lag issues…. STOP bashing everything we post in this forum. Its not helping.

Why is this bashing as you say it’s a fact not trying to not be helpful but this is most likely the main cause of lag for some playing from countries that don’t have there oun servers and have to go into NA or EU to get into the game.

You say your PSU is 360v or is it 360w meaning watts we need to know the watt rating if it’s 360watts then that may be your problem, it may be to low of a wattage to handle this game. Your PSU may not over heat but may start to do odd things when driven to hard. In most gaming PCs you want at least 500 or more, I never go belowe 600watts on any systems I build and you want to look for a good brand like Cool master or Corsair. This game will drive your system to it max on the CPU because it does most of the game rendering in the CPU not in the GPU like all the other game you listed do GPU rendering.

If it’s Anet then how come I never lag and only been DCed twice since I have played this game since launch, no it not Anet. I’m on Comcast in Denver maybe that I live less then 3 miles from the major data center hub for Denver I’m not sure if this helps but I never lag and none of my in game friend lag either, so not sure what the issue is but its not Anet. If it were Anet then everyone would lag and that’s just not the case.

I have been experiencing game breaking lag on a brand new computer (same internet I’ve played games on problem free for years) and it is only on GW2. I can play Rift, WoW, and ESO, all with NO lag whatsoever! I did a tracert and guess what? your North American servers are somewhere in Sweden!!! SWEDEN? WTF ANET? if this unplayable crap keeps up I will seriously never buy another Anet product again. Please fix your servers this is beyond ridiculous.

edit: I should probably note that although I’m east coast like most in this thread, I have Optimum as my isp.

Wow NA servers are in Texas, if I were you I would check my system for some sort of Internet highjacking virus or malware that may be rerouting you threw a proxy using an ip out of Sweden to some eastern erupean country.

I don’t have Vios but I do have Time Warner, and live in NY. Today I had the joy of being DCed twice while trying to do Sanctum Rush for daily, multiple times in Caledon Forest again while trying to do daily, getting DCed multiple times in SW looking for chests while waiting for a Breach losing a shovel each DC, getting DCed during a Breach only to log back into a Chest Farm map, and finally DCing multiple times while trying to use the BLTP.

99.9% of the lag and DC issues are beyond Anet’s control, it the Internet. Go to any online game support forum and the number one complaint is lag and DC it’s not just GuildWars it’s all online gaming just because one game works for you and another one doesn’t, is because the way you are being routed to the game servers. Also lag and DC could be connected with the way the game is connecting to the servers not all games are the same it may depend on how your system handles it, is your security set to high are you connected to the Internet with an Ethernet cable, or over WiFi, if it’s Wifi try a cable. How many people are on the same connection with you if you live in a house with a large family then that could be your issue. Do you download stuff, or stream stuff while gaming, are you on Skype when you play. Sorry folks Skype sucks, get on a good VoIP system that was designed for online gaming like TeamSpeak or Ventrilo. Before you start playing the blame game make sure you have the facts straight.

If your video card is not over heating then I would say it’s defective or failing. Also try reseating the card maybe the card is not getting proper connection.

It’s most likely a internet issue but if you live in a high populated area and you are on WiFi try connecting with an Ethernet cable to your router there have been issues with WiFi lately in high usage areas. With everything but the toilet Wifi enabled lately then you may be having an issue there especially in apartment complexes. Also outside sources that may cause interference to WiFi are microwave ovens, cordless phones, radio control toys, Bluetooth, just to name a few, all are on the same 2.4 and 5 ghrt frequencies. If an Ethernet cable is totally not an option for you then the quality of your WiFi card on your Desktop PC could have an impact on your connection. So if you are using one of those cheapo $5.99 WiFi dongles, you get what you payed for junk. Get a new one, a card with a good external antenna. Another thing to look at is how many people are on your connection at the same time you are if this is prime time then if you have more than one on then this also can be the problem at some of my friend’s houses there could be as much as 8 people on one connection this could be your lag issue right there. You also might want to check and see if you don’t have any WiFi leachers on your connection if you are still using the old WEP security standard then chances are you do. That standard is so easily cracked now, you need a WiFi security standard at WPA2

You would think it should not be against the rules as long as you already own an account, it not like you are trying to get a free account you already have one, you are just doing a friend a favor. I do understand why Anet makes it against the rules because of security reasons, if you give out your account info that’s a risk that they may do something to that account or have a key logger on there system and the said account gets hacked. Also there have been issues in game accounts where even the best of friends have had a falling out and one friend gets on the other’s account and does bad things to it then Anet will have to get involved and they don’t want to deal with these types of issues so they make it against the rules.

Video game movies don’t do very well at the box office so unless it was the best
movie ever it would most likely will never happen but who knows. There’s going to be a Mincraft movie and a WoW movie so stranger things have happened.

I personally would not have a problem with paying real world money for a guild halls threw the gem store guild halls are more or less cosmetic and just adds a convenience to guilds. With that said if guild hall are perchanced with gems then they need to be customizable please no cookie cutter guild hall. Seeing the HoT trailer and the guild hall being built block by block leads me to hope that we get to build them our selves that would be awesome.

Although a very good idea I don’t see it happening and not a lot of people will use it and then Anet would have to moderate it. I don’t see them devoting that kind of resource to it.

There are a lot of isues with this card the R9 280x series of card are know to have a very high failed rate do to the fact that AMD are using older graphics processers and relabeling them to R9 280×. They are basicly overclocking them and calling them new so I would get something else. AMD is starting to lose it in the market so they are trying every trick in the book to make money.

There kitten veral YouTube videos on how to apply the CPU cooling compound. The pea method is the best and never spread the compound with a plastic card or your finger, let the heat sink spread it when you attacht it to the motherboard. Chances are you forgot to use heat sink compound or you used way to much. In this case more is not better, the thinner the better.

I think LA will be repaired for the expansion it will be the hub to enter guild halls

Your issue is with nvd3dum.dll you need to completely uninstall your video card drivers and reinstall, Google nvd3dum.dll and you can see some if the fixes people have done.
