Sure it looks good enough to play this game on but don’t expect stellar performance, I get playable fps on my i5 laptop with Intel graphics so you should do better but you will not be able to run at max ingame setting. One issue will be the hard drive I’m guessing the rpms on it are 5,300, that’s slow your zoning time will be long. That was the issue I had on my i5 laptop until I replaced the hard drive with an SSD

Is there an arrow to the right of your character slots on the starting screen I had to click the arrow to reveal the beta slot, then click the beta slot, and then click the creat beta character at the bottom right.

If you are using the beta slot for the beta weekend you can not select a profession because the reason for the beta weekend is to test the revenant profession so that’s all you can play in this beta weekend in the beta slot.

There is no way they can guarantee that something could go wrong and cause a problem with the data, this is a beta test that’s how they work, the character get wiped after each one. No amount of hoping wishing or dreaming is going to change that fact and making suggestion that Anet not do it or added into the deal when you buy the game would not happen for the same fact the can’t guarantee the data.

Do you have a cell phone almost every phone for the a 20 years has had a clock in it and has had a world clock you can set multiple time zones in. Just have one set to
Your local time and do the second set to Pacific time zone if you can’t do the time convention in your head then this is a no brainer.

There is no sub fee for windows 10 I’m thinking you are mistaking it for Office that does have a $99 a year sub fee.

Contact your ISP 99.9% of all internet issues are internet related, faulty networking equipment on your end, you system is infested with Internet high jacking viruses and malware, running to many internet related apps in the background some data center between you and the game servers is having issues, to many people on the same connection and someone is watching Netflix, your Isp is throttling your connection, just to name a few of the numerous reason why you are getting disconnected

How do you know it’s the display driver for anyone to to help on this forum we need mor info, system spec, OS version and crash logs.

The reason for being resricted is most likely a legal issues in your country over how these types of contests are allowed or run. Also it could be some sort of import issue that may make it difficult or impossible to get the prizes sent to you if you did win. For what ever reason they are not deliberately denying you to enter the contest there are several countries that can’t participate for legal reason. I’m sure Anet would like to have everyone in the world be able to participate but with governments and lawyers in the way, it’s not possible.

Looking at what is in the expansion so far the price is well worth it. Just the guild hall stuff alone is worth the $50 the guild halls are amazing all the other stuff is just gravy

I just had to stop reading this thread and say that Anet has not announced a collectors box yet you can’t compair something when you don’t have all the facts yet. Anet did say there will be a boxed version of the game for sale but what they haven’t said one way or other will there be a boxed collectors addiond most likely there will be but know one knows for sure or what will be included in it. I can’t see Anet not doing it, they would not want to lose out on those sales.

You could save it up or you could go without something like going out to dinner. Now don’t take this post the wrong way but there may be things you never have thought of to get the expansion. You most likely still have a few of months before it come out and you don’t realy have to buy it now you could wait till you can save or afford it. It’s not just the GuildWars expansion but most game expansions are at the same price point and some have a subscription fee also, so this is not an unreasonable price. I’m not rich either and don’t have a lot of disposable cash to throw around, but I knew this was coming and I started saving up for it and was able to buy the $99 version. Like I said there is still time to raise the money the only reason to get it now is to get into the betas. There’s no real good reason to get into the beta except to get a into the game early and most likely we will lose all the progression in the beta and have to start over once the expansion goes live anyway.

It’s not going to happen so don’t ask. These types of sub forums always turn toxic and the moderators have enough to deal with in the forum as a whole, there are plenty of other places outside of these forum to discuss those topics, go there. Please lock this thread.

I’m sure Anet would like for everyone in the world that would like to participate but it’s most likely the law governing contests of this type where someone is picked for the best art work instead of the contest being purely random, or to the point that any type of contest is illegal in that country or the origin of the contest has to be within the borders of said country there could be a number of legal issues tying the hands up there could also be tax or import levies that Anet just doesn’t want to or can’t deal with so I’m sure Anet is not trying to single any one country out from participation unfotunitly they can’t. There could be one way to get around this and maybe allow you to participate have a trusted friend or relative that live in one of the countries the can participate submit to entry for you in their name then if you win, or they win. Then hopefully they will send you the prizes

Any chance we could see some part of the living story, if and when it resumes, where we travel back in time to the old Lions Arch this would be fun for the new players to see what it looked like and old players to remains.

I realy think small guilds with under 20 active players are going to have a rough time with the new guild hall system

Inside the Guild Initiative Headquarters, you’ll find explorers who have scouted out particularly large infestations of Mordrem in remote ruins in and around the western jungle. Given the incongruous concentration of Mordrem in these locations, they’ve been determined to be of strategic importance to Mordremoth. The explorers are seeking guilds willing and able to mount expeditions to liberate these ruins, and Tyrian world governments have agreed to cede ownership of the ruins to successful guilds so long as they maintain a presence in those places and defend them from recapture by the dragons.

So the problem as I see it is defending the guild hall from recapture the question is how aften will these dragons attack and try to take back the hall and if they succeed do we lose everything we built, do we have recap the guild hall and start all over again I hope defending the guild hall doesn’t turn this game into a full time job and take the fun out of it.

Yes I don’t see any reason Anet would keep new players from getting into the Core game till HoT release so any new player should be able to get started playing the game.

Guild hall will be in the expansion the only new content we’ll be the new lions Arch.

There has not been any real info on the boxed version of the expansion so if you want the stuff Anet is offering if I was you I would get it from the official web site or the gem store so you have good pruff of purchase so there is no issues also this goes to everyone “SAVE ALL YOUR EMAILS AND KEYS”. There have been so many issues with third party purchases in this game that I would not risk it.

You all need to relize this is not a new campaign like they did in GWI but an expansion of the current game so with that the map could be only one or it could be some number less than 25 but I think it will be a single digit number. What ever number of maps there are they did say the PvE maps will have 3 layers that’s where the gliders come in, so I think the new map areas will be large and layered. Also trying to judge the size of the new map with the current one is meaningless they could open up totally new areas off the map as it is now look what happened when the new campaign came out in GW1 they made map ares never before seen. Just remember this is an expansion with the possibility of only one new map and by the definition of expansion 1 map would be considered an expansion. All map numbers are speculation at this point no one know for sure

People are putting way to much into this build feature, I’m thinking that this is going to be more crafting than building. I don’t think this is going to be a sandbox type system but pre defined item you can use as decoration that you craft and place in the guild hall. The way it looks now there will be only 2 guild halls to pick from, but these halls look massive more like a guild city so there should be plenty of room for all to decorate in.

It’s your choice to leave no one is twisting your arm to do so just relize Don’t leave on the account of the hype of this issue I’m a veteran player. Yes I think it would have been nice if Anet did something for us but it’s not a deal breaker for me, I’m staying and I suggests you think this over before you really regret your decision

I don’t intend for this thread to turn into another argument over the direction that Anet is taking this in but to bring up a few poinst on how HoT may divide the community even further apart

This is a long awaited feature that I am looking forward to but I just realized something that Anet may have not realized. Is there a requirement to have HoT to enter the new guild halls. Now I can see the need to have HoT to help cap the guild hall but once the guild has control over the hall it should be open to all. Also the need for a guildie to have HoT to do guild content related to HoT I can see. Now I was just thinking that guilds will start telling people they need to have HoT to stay in the guild or requiring HoT to join, this may be considered discrimination. I’m not wanting this to turn into a debate over the price of the game or whether as a veteran player I’m Entitled to get more just to comely discuss this potential issue and that no matter the price point not everyone will get HoT for what ever reason.

I’m thinking it will take a minimun number of guild member to cap a guild hall say 15 or more. Single member guilds or personal guilds most likely will not be able to cap the guild hall or it sounds like you need to defend it in some manner. Not sure how this will work but a single member guild may not be able to defend the guid hall.

No it’s called marketing and it’s done all the time in every aspect of business. Anet just made a big mistake and worded it wrong to make it sound like you are paying again for something you already have. What they should have said is “includes core game for new accounts” don’t you all read adds there are phrases like Limited time offer, Free to new accounts, Free to first time buyers, the list goes on Anet didn’t really do anything that hasn’t been done before they just need to fire the marketing director and hire someone with a brain.

They just made a mistake in the way they worded it I think if they said “Includes core game with new account activation” they would have avoided a lot of problems but I think the price point is in line with the industry standard so there you go I plan to get it I think they really didn’t do anything wrong here so just wording wants thought through.

What time is it they are at E3 or asleep most likely we will get some type of official response tomorrow.

Most of the complaint are based on here say and hype. Yes it would have been nice if Anet added a character slot to the basic expac but it’s not a deal breaker for me and as for those that recently purchased the game it has been posted by Anet on Reddit that they will exchange for the HoT pre sale but not sure how far back they plan to go most likely 30 days but don’t quote me on that, so they are trying to work things out.

I am going to show my support by buying the $99 from my next paycheck. I don’t see anything wrong with this and have been playing since GW1 beta.

For those that missed the E3 stream on guild halls, just the guild hall content alone I would have payed $50 this is going to be amazing. Stop complaining about the price and whether new players get the core game free and watch this.

They have A LOT to go for charging $50 and not have the player base question that. I just bought the FFXIV expansion for $39.99 and I know just about EVERYTHING that’s going to be in it. GW2? Very little. What are we getting exactly for $50 is the question? New maps, how big ae they exactly? New class, the Revenant. Don’t know how it works yet. A “subclass” rework in the form of Elite Specializations, most we haven’t seen yet. A new WvW borderlands map, don’t know how it works. Guild Halls. That’s it. yay. Still no word on this “challenging content.” Did I miss something? I’m not going into whether which expack will deliver more, but jeez.

Did you watch the E3 live stream on guild halls today it most likely on YouTube by now go check it out the guild hall stuff alone I would pay $50 for it is more the I or most people expected it is fantisic

Most retailer will price match as much as 30 days I think Anet will make good on this. Open a support ticket if you bought the game in the last 30 days see what type of respouce you get before casting judgment.

Please post links to the amount of amount of content in HoT there is no official word on size of maps or amount of content. At this point is all speculation and hype started by people that think just because they say it it’s true you people need to get a grip and relax till we see the full expansion did you all watch the live stream from E3 the guild hall stuff alone would make me pay $50 that was amazing I think you are all over reacting just step back and wait Anet needed a big E3 show opener they announced the pre sale of HoT, there is more to come and Anet needs a show stopper for E3 the release date would be the grand finally for E3.

Ok they have not shown all of the map if any for the HoT no one knows the size or scope of the maps in HoT this is all speculation until. We actually see the maps know one can say for sure what size the maps are so your just assuming from what others have said that don’t know either.

This is the norm for most expansions check it out, I just looked on the WoW site they charging the same price for their basic expansion so why is everyone complaining this is an industry standard price for an expansion, I don’t get it plus they charge a sub GuildWars has no sub?? Please come up with a good reason why the HoT expansion price point is so terrible????

This is common in any retail business prices change all the time. Companies give special promotional prices to intise new customers get over it buy the expansion or don’t it’s your choice but I don’t think they have done a thing wrong here, you all need to get a grip on realty. I think if you already have an account you will not be able to make a new one with the expac once you use the key and you have an existing account you will not get another. People are freaking out over nothing. The marketing scheme is to intise new players I think they made a big marketing blunder wording it the way they did but the price point is inline with most of today’s gaming expansion so we need to relax

This reminds me of my Grandma’s house from the 70s ugly green shag carpet green furniture dark brown paneling and picture in gold frames. I’m thinking this is not an actual pic of a guild hall but the loading screen to zone into the guild halls, still it’s ugly.

Well lag isn’t beaming the rules so if there is someone reporting people for lag then they need a warning.

Also the person that reported you will get a warning about abusing the reporting system. Don’t worry nothing is going to happen to you.

Have you tried a different USB port or plugging the headset into a different system and see if the problem is in the headset, maybe they are defective. Also this forum is mainly for game related issues not general hardware issues so this thread will most like get deleted good luck.

Remove dailies add daily achievement, like daily log in, gathering. Events, world bosses, fractles, PvP and WvW this would give more flexabilty. this way we can chose the type of dailies we do or not do at all. This would make them less of a chore then current daily system. This is not fun, it limit you into just doing the few that are listed. If every thing in the game could be made to be a daily achievement and the reword are progressively bigger for the number of different things that are completed. If the current daily system is to get people moving around to different areas of the world then add points for completing events in different areas of the world. I’m just saying the dailies need to be reworked so they don’t feel so much like a chore. The old system was a little closer to this but it needed help to, this new system wasn’t the answer. A good idea for a daily gathering event would be for you to go to 10 different areas and get 10 different things or a daily trash collecting event you could call it Keep Tyria Clean

Did you get the email announcing HoT if you did that’s the newsletter if you get any emails from Anet or NCSoft you are getting them.

Outside the gaming world GuildWars is not a household word like WoW or Minecraft and have not made it into the mainstream news much, so I don’t think if you ask a non gamer if they have ever herd of GuildWars then ask them if they have herd of the other two games you most likely will get a yes. With that said GuildWars the movie will most likely never happen. No movie studio will not take the project on and most likely will get a response like GuildWars what is that? But WoW and Minecraft movies are in the works so go see those when they come out, that’s the closest you are going to get.

I have never had an issue with this and this is the first post ever read on this. I think it’s fine the way it is the whole point is you are suppose to find something, making it any easier then why bother with it at all. I agree with taking the key away completely and only highlight when you get close and mouse over it.
