All configuration is stored in the local.dat file deleting this file will change all your ingame setting back to default. The game creats a new one the next time you run the game. This has yet to be confermed to fix the issue, but it won’t hurt anything to try it. You will need to redo all your ingame graphics sound and key binding setting if you do this.

I don’t know much about Macs but if you repost this in the Mac Beta Client Tec Support forum you might get a better response.

This error is most likely a video driver issue roll back your driver if you recently updated or try updating the video driver. You may need to completely uninstall the driver then reinstall it.

Contact you ISP send them your ping path only they can open a ticket with Alter.net. This has been an on going issue that’s about all you can do it seems to clear up for a time then it’s back if your ISP will not help you then give it time it just may clear up on its own.

Sound like a bad hard drive also deleting the local.dat file should clear this issue your charature location data is stored there and may have got corrupted.

This is a video card driver issue try going back to the previous driver should fix you righ up.

Do some research, find out why you are getting disconnected most common problem is that you have something running in the background that is grabbing your internet and using just enough of your bandwidth or has a higher piority then the game, During large events this is a very high bandwith usage for the game and if there is a sudden drop in bandwidth do to some other app or program that needs the Internet then bamb you are disconnected from the game. Programs like Skype, iTunes, Steam, and others can cause this. Do not stream music while playing the game, do not leave Youtube videos running in the background, and do not download anything while playing the game. Run a virus or malware scan, make sure they are no internet highjacking infection

The next is WiFi, if you have a bad WiFi connection this can cause disconnects if you are on WiFi try running a cable from your router to your PC. Because of everything becoming WiFi inabled lately. High populated areas this is becoming an issue with congestion, also if you have to be on WiFi what type of WiFi device do you have if its one of those $4.99 dougles the you get what you payed for get a new one get a card with an exturnal antena the best are the ones with the antena with a cable so you can get the antana up hight out of the back of the pc to get the best posable signal

I could go on with several more reasons why you are DCing during events but it’s up to you to figure it out and no it’s not the game. If it was then I and everyone else in my guild and friends would be DCing during events and very rare that it happen I think I have DCed once since I been playing this game from beta.

Wow I need to learn how to read didn’t catch that this was a laptop. After I looked at the specs again. I thinking defective motherboard, you may need to return it.

First thing to check is the power supply, what is the brand name and what watt rating is it. You should not use less than 500watt supply. I never use less than 700 watts in any of my builds over the past five years. You need a good stable high capacity supply for today’s gaming rigs. If this is a factury built system the most likely is the power supply many pc builders skimp on power supplies just to cut corners. If it’s an unknown brand or generic supply get it replaced. Get a supply like a Coolmaster or Corsair and nothing under $70 and I recomend 700watts but nothing less then 500watts.

Exeption c0000005 is most likely a vidio issue, have you updated your drivers, if so and this issue started go back to the older video driver. Also since you did not post your system specs I am hoping you are running the game on a system the is at or better than the minimum system requirment for this game. If you are trying to run the game on a system that is lower then you might get this error. Are you running any kind of overlay or video capture app or software in the background, the overlay for Mumble and an a ingame video capture app call gameclaw are known to cause this error. Any app or program that is tring to gain access to the system video at the same time the game is trying to run may cause this error. Using a newer video card on an older motherboard that’s lower than the minimum specs suggested by the card manufacturer may give you this error.

Try running a ping path or trace rout looks like you may be lagging just a bit on one of the nodes that you go threw to get to the game server. The reason TS in not effected is it most likely is taking a different rout to get to the TS server.

I’m thinking is a video drive did you update your video driver is so then try going back to the older one, if not try updating to a newer one. Also try a clean install of the driver.

The key just registers your account to make sure you plaid for and uptaned an account legaly. You can play your account on any computer you want but only on on computer at one time. There are only two times you need the key the first time is when you first register your account and the second as proof that you are the righful owner of the account should your account ever be hacked and or stolen. You will never have to ever enter the key ever again but hopefully everyone has made a backup copy of their key just in case you need to ever prove that the account is yours.

How long did you run Memtest for if it was a couple of cycles than that doesn’t cut it needs to run for several hours like 24hr or at least over night. Also do you have or can you borrow a power supply just to eliminate it being the PSU.

Sounds to me that you have some app that is trying to take over your screen like maybe Skype.

It’s most likely you have to many old email you can only keep 10 if you have more than 10 then you can’t get any more emails till you delete some to under 10.

Make sure you are running the game in admin mode.

I run the game on my laptop that has Windows8.1 on it with no problems just make sure you get all the latest drivers for win8.1. When windows 8 first came out there were issue with gaming but most have been cleared up. For a time Anet was not supporting windows 8 but I think that has changed.

Your problem is most likely a failing or under rated power supply check the lable on the side of the supply and post the rating. It should be at least 450watts or higher. I personally will not use a supply rated under 700watts in any of my gaming systems I have built over the last 5 years. The high demand for power in a modern gaming rig requires a good stable power supply. Also what brand power supply did you buy for your system I see to many people build high end gaming systems and cheap out on the power supply. Don’t buy one of those $19 Chinese junk specials, if you didn’t pay more than $70 for your PSU then this it most likely the problem stay with the good brands like Coolmaster or Corsair. I’m not talking about the uninterrupted supply you bought but the power supply inside your system.

Try the repair command in the games shortcut target field.

Try assigning the action to a new key or try a different keyboard. Maybe your keyboard is going bad.

Burn in is realy rare on LCDs but can happen on a plasma display and did on realy old CRTS like the white, Amber and green. Displays or a color display with the same image on it for long piriods of time(years) some LCDs can get an after image that may last a few hours if it is left on the same image for long periods of time and the switched to a light color but will fade over time. Then there may be a posable defect in the display.

Are you running the game in admin mode. Also check and see if your guildwars2 folder has some how become write protected.

Ther are already several threads on this subject, unfortunately it may never happen the best you can hope for is Guildwars 1 on steam OS if it ever gets released. steam OS is linux

The maps in Archeage are much larger than GuildWars so the need for mount is really not nessesery and how will a mount change the way you travel in the game you still have to control the mount the same way you control your charature as you run also Archeage has very few way points or portals to move around in a zone so to get to point to point in any map quickly you need that added speed a mount gives you. Yes mounts would be cool but not practical for GuildWars. It is not part of the GuildWars lore no race in Tyria ever adapted the need to ride on an animals back. The only thing that came close was riding in the worms in GuildWars1.

It’s not the game content it’s about the backdrop, the scenery, the atmosphere. I’m not an RPer but it seem to me that this game and others like it were made for RPers they just find a place in the game they like and they let the story flew. It just amazes me how the come up with some of the diolog on the fly like that an I’ve seen some RPers use game events in their events and never miss a beat. I have had some of the best time in game just standing back out of the way and watching reading along its like a living breathing graphic novel.

I suggested a while back that we needed swim suits in underwater combat, that it look totally unnatural to be in full heavy armer underwater. I alway thought that it would be cool to change to a swimsuit skin when you enter the water but you keep all your armer stats.

There’s your problem shut down Skype and see if your issues goes away. Skype was never designed for gaming, it sucks, get TeamSpeak3 or Ventrilo if you need in game VoIP.

I hit auto-detect for my graphics settings in game, and I as a result I only get about 10 Frames per second.

So I decided to see what would happen on the lowest possible settings, and even then I am only getting about 15-20 frames max, it’s really annoying.

PC specs are:

I think that’s all, and I’m running the latest NVIDIA driver.

So technically, I should be running the game just fine right? Why am I getting such bad FPS?

You need to check that your laptop power management is set for high performance also make sure your your running the game on the NVIDIA card and not the onboard Intel graphics chipset. Also make sure the laptop is plugged in because Hight performance mode will drain the battery fast.

New mmo called Archeage just released. Should try it out.

I tried it in beta but to me it just felt clunky and unrefined.
i think its partly the fact that when casting you cant move
and the th UI feels a little bit clutterd

Good luck getting in to that game they are having major issues like 3 to 4 que times just to play and you can’t miniize the game client to do something else while you wait. No I think I will stay with Guildwars.

Check with your collage admin they will sometimes open the ports you need but they charge a fee and you have to sign a waver saying if you or anyone does anything ilegal on your PC you will be held responsible.

This is a commen problem with AVG, it is because of the imbedded browser in the game for the trading post. Add guildwars2 to the AVG exption list or better yet get rid of AVG all together and get Avast. AVG has turn into a bloatware resource hog.

How did you uninstall the game did you use ADD REMOVE PROGRAMS or did you delete the folder? Also installing the game and installing the patch looks exactly the same so this may be what’s confusing you.

Unfortunately your lag issues are most likely not Anet fault, there are several reason you may have lag. Here are the a few of the main ones, something you have running in the background that is taking priority of your internet or you have a virus or malware high jacking your connection, you have to many users on the same connection on the internet at the same time or someone is leaching off your wifi, bad our defective modem, bad or improperly installed cabling (to many cable splitters between the incoming cable and your modem there should only be one the one your cable provider installed for you. Not the one you bought at the dollar store.), wifi congestion this is a growing problem with everything but the toilet becoming wifi enabled lately this is becoming a growing problem especially in high populated areas, packet loss this is a big one lately with major backbone providers selling off bandwidth to the highest bidder, your ISP throttling your connection during prime time, or if you are using to much bandwidth, how far you are out from your ISP data center, and the list goes on. If you have not checked everything out and you are getting lag then you have no right to blame Anet for something that is beyond their control. There are hundreds of thousands that plays this game with little to no issues in any given hour and I’m one of them if the lag issue was at Anet’s servers then this would be a larger issue and I would have lag but I never do so the problem is not server side.

Your problem is that you are running out of memory you will need to reinstall Windows with the 64bit version you are running the 32bit version with the 32bit version of Windows it only allows 3.5GB of ram for programs and apps no matter how much ram is installed in your system. But with the 64bit version Windows allows up to 8GB for programs and apps. At times GuildWars may need up to 3GB of ram and if you have a lot stuff running in the background then when the game tries to get the ram it need out of that 3.5GB and you have say 1.5GB being used by some other apps or programs you system will crash and you get the OOM error (Out Of Memory)error. No one runs the 32bit OS much anymore I think Windows 8 is 64bit only and must CPU support 64bit OS. You don’t eve have to buy a new OS the product key works on both the 32 and 64btit Versions of Windows you just need the 64bit DVD to reinstall it just has to be the same flavor like home premium or pro.

For those who don’t know spoon collecting has been around in real life for many years. Back I the day my sister collected these things they are small half size of a regular teaspoon mostly made of metal some were even silver or silver plated, that you bought at a gift shops and tourist traps when traveling in the US. Usually with the place name and a seen stamped in the metal handle. I think this started in the 1950s but it could be older. Some places still sell them today but I don’t think it’s as popular as it once was my sister had several hundred spoons the last time I visited her and she started I think around 12 years old and is still collecting these thing today she is in her 50s and has them in wooden frames hanging on the wall she has them from every state major city national parks and seashores Disney land and other places. So that’s where someone from Anet got the idea, so family member or friend must have had a collection and thought it would be fun to add this to the game.

The reason they had to do this, and this game needed some type if time gating from the beginning, is that people are getting levels up to fast for the amount of content that is in the game. If you remember back at launch the first couple of weeks people were already level 80 and crying that there was nothing more to do. Well time gating kind of solves this problem especially for new players. yes this sucks for alts but to keep this game viable and alive this was the only option left to them. There also needs to be a way for veteran players to level up alts without having to grind them threw the whole game again. It just that someone at Anet forgot about human nature, there are always people in this world that need to get to the top as fast as posable. So they will take any means to get there and a lot of people have done that in this game, but I think it was to late to implement time gating to this game not two years after release this should have been realized a lot sooner and implemented from the beginning.

Well no issues here but I still get my same 45 to 85 fps no improvement but no decrease either, not sure what changed for you all. Also it’s sure funny how people confuse lag for fps and fps for lag these are two totally different issues and are not necessarily the same issue good luck but for some of you you may need to do a complete reinstall of Windows. I think that’s why I have no issues is because I’m running the game on a clean install of Windows with maybe TS or Ventrilo running in the background.

Are you running the client in admin mode, disable router and Windows firewalls, turn off antivirus if you are using anything but Avast or the built in windows AV. If you are running Norton’s you may have to uninstall it completely and use a more gamer friendly AV like Avast or the built in Windows Security Essentials.

Run the installer in admin mode and disable your antivirus if there was one pre installed also turn off Windows Firewall. If your system came with Norton or Mcgaffee get rid of it and get Avast or just use the built in Windows Security essentials. There are more gamer friendly and not as big as a resource hog as the others.

You have to lower your ingame graphic settings get remotely playable fps in the game and any other MMORPG when you are dealing with large mobs and zergs the problem is that there’s to much data coming in that no computer on the face of the earth can handle. When your system is processing the position data for some 30 to 40+ characters and try to display that on the screen also all the skill effects the weapon effects the terrain and background images need to move as you do something has to give, the fps gets lowered to keep up with the demand on the system. There’s not a lot you can do but lower your ingame setting to try and get the fps up to at least a 20 to 30 fps is playable but not pretty you could overclock you system also but that’s for you to decide. I don’t PvP or WvW much but when I do I have to lower my ingame setting a little to make it playable, good luck

A method to announce guild events threw the registered account email how this might work is that the guild leader has a place in the guild window that they can type the event announcement then it is sent out to all active guild members registered account email. Most people can get email on there phones now so guild leader can remind people of upcoming guild events. These announcements email could be limited to a number of emails sent a week and cost guild influence to send to prevent spamming also no email addresses will be visible in game for security concerns just the text field will appear and the emailing process is totally automated so there is no access to anyone’s email address.

Avg use to be one of the best AVs around, well they let that success got to their head and turned into an overprotective bloatware piece of junk. So I suggest you completely uninstall and get Avast or just use the built in Windows AV.

Well here’s the issue, no PC game dev on the face of the earth can test for the almost infinitesimal amount of different hardware and software combinations that are out there in peoples systems in this day and age. it’s not like a console game where every system is exactly the same unless someone hacked their XBox or PS4 and the only thing that runs on a game console is a basic OS and one game at a time. The PC gaming world is so much harder to dev on for this reason. Yes Anet test their stuff they run internal betas on this but they can’t test for all the craptastic apps and programs that are running in the background on people’s system. They can’t test for all the different hardware combinations. They can’t test for all the flaky bloat ware anti virus and malware apps they can’t test for failing hardware under rated or failing power supplies. they can’t test for the flaky internet connection bad or failing modems bad or Improperly installed cabling should I go on I can come up with more. The point is give them a brake, they are human beings not machines there is a chance someone made a mistake it happens they will fix this

What are you system specs, the main issue with this game is that It needs at least 3GB of ram to run correctly you may need to install the 64bit version of your OS to solve this issue the 32 bit version only allows 3.5GB of ram for apps and programs the 64bit version will allow up to 8GB of ram to apps and programs so if you have to much stuff running in the background it will kill the game if posable upgrade to Windows7 64 bit Vista just sucks anyway. If that’s not posable for you then get the 64bit version of vista your product key will work on both version of vista So you don’t have to buy a new one

Look at you task manager what do you have running in the background shutdown or uninstall unneeded apps and programs looks to me that something is competing with GuildWars that running in the background for resources.

Why would you not want an SSD they are dirt cheap right now $69 at Microcenter and if you buy the bundled processor and mother board from them they take $10 off the SSD that’s for a120GB drive that’s plenty for Windows and the game then run everything else a $49 1TB standard drive. OMG I’m glad I have a Microcenter here in Denver.

Sounds to me that your hard drive is failing or is to full.
