You just need to find a balance between fps and and graphics quality these setting seem to work best, you may need to adjust where noted
Full Screen: 1680 × 1050 Depending on monitor
Refresh Rate: Default
Frame Limiter: Unlimited
Interface Size: Personal preference
Animation: High
Antialiasing: FXAA or None, Some system this has no effect
Environment: High
OD distance: High
Reflections: Terrain & Sky or None. It depends if you don’t care if you see the reflections in water this will improve fps.
Textures: High
Render Sampling: Native
Shadows: Low or None This is one of the main Fps reducers if you don’t care to see your shadow.
Shaders: High
Post Processing: High
Character Model Limit: Medium or low This effect how you see other characters in game and improve fps in mobs
Character Model Quality: Medium or Low This effect how you see other characters in game and improve fps in mobs.
Best Texture Filtering: Unchecked
Depth Blur: Checked
Effects LOD: Checked
High-Res Character Textures: Unchecked
Vertical Sync: Unchecked
My FPS In Lions Arch 35 to 45 depending on where my character is
FPS in explorable areas 65 to 80 and sometimes as high as 90 but that’s rare not sure why. In WvW I rarely drop below 30fps which is playable levels
System specs:
I5 3570k running at 3.8GHz not over clocked
16 gigs ram
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 not over clocked with up to date drives
Samsung SSD 840 series 120 gig drive
Windows home premium 64 bit OS with security essentials
Only have Window and GuildWar2 installed on SSD everything else is installed on standard 1TB drive, also don’t run much in background fairly Clean install of Windows, will run TS or Vent in background, never craptastic Skype.
I might be that you don’t have all the ports forwarded that the game needs Guild Wars 2 requires TCP ports 80, 443, 6112 and port 6600 be fully unrestricted and accessible, both inbound and outbound. If you don’t know how to port forward, google search how to port forward on the brand name and model of your router. If you live in a collage dorm you may need to get the collage admin to do this for you they will most likely charge you for it and you may have to sign an agreement that you will not do any torrent or file sharing.
I looks to me that this might be that you don’t have enough free memory on your system looks like you have to much stuff running in the background or you have some virus that is eating up your memory free up some memory the game need a least 3 gb of ram to run.

I’m very upset because I just spent 74.19$ (US Dollars) for a game I CAN NOT PLAY. I recently downloaded the client or setup file and I get the error in the title EVERY time! I’m not happy with this and I’d either like a fix or a refund of all of my almost 80$
if anyone can help please try..
Are you running the game in admin mode also for anyone to help you you might want to post the error message and your system specs.
I not sure if you can I’m not in front of my PC to check but if you don’t use call target you could try and re binding it to some other key in the game options.
I’m not sure but it kind of looks like some of your GuildWars2 files are corrupt try the -repair command in the games shortcut target field.

Your ISP will not admit to it but most likely you are being throttle during prime time the reason TS is working is because TS uses far less bandwidth than the game. This is a common problem for some people in some areas during prime time, not sure what you can do about it good luck. Also close out all apps and programs that may be using internet like Skype, iTunes any browser you may have open any driver utilities that check for updates any thing like Steam or any gaming apps or utilities that may need internet. Just run the game and TS if needed. If you are on wifi try a cable from your router to your PC.

If you need more bandwidth while the game is downloading there is a simple fix just close out of the installer till you are finished with the internet the start the game again the game will pickup the downloading where it left off. The download percent will say 0 but the file count will be less so there you go problem solved
The game needs this file in the required location this is one file you can’t move no matter what also this file is recreated if the game finds it missing so there is no way around this. Looks like you will need to find a different way to free up space on you hard drive.
There is one question I have and I can’t find if anyone else has asked it yet. Will there be a transmute charge to change to take out a mini you have unlocked in your wardrobe, in other words say you have one unlocked mini out and you want to change to a new one, is it free to do so, or will there a charge for it? Because if there is a charge then this will make me and a lot of people unhappy. I love the new system it makes running with minies more convenient, but if we are charged for each time we want to change out a mini for a different one that will not be fun!

I read somewhere that guildhalls and housing is considered content not a feature so don’t expect it in the September feature patch.
I’m almost positive that no employee or representative from Anet has any special ingame powers. The only thing that sets their account apart from others is the icon above their heads and some of the devs may have some debugging tools but nothing that will allow them Dc an individual player or I’m sure this would be happen more often. I have seen people ingame taunting Anet rep to try and get banned but nothing happened so I’m positive if there was a disconnection it was most likely just a coincident. They may have the ability to ban but I think it still has to go threw channels to make sure it was a bannable offense and that the action was taken on the right parties involved. Still you were asked to move on so they could get a screen shoot. Would you do this in real life if you were waking along and someone was taking a picture you would most likely go around or wait till they were finished get a clue. Your actions in game reflect your actions in real life.

Did you try any of the suggestion in the sticky at the top of the forums support section titled:
Installation Issue – Stuck at Connecting\Download Failed
Did you try the -repair command in the games shortcut target field.
Check your energy saving performance setting under Windows chances are they got changed some how make sure to set to high performance when plugged in then play the game with the power adapter plugged in.
That should do quite nicely but I do agree the PSU is overkill get one no less than 600watts, also that 80+ thing is more of a gimmick to jack up the price, all it is is that the PSU is 80%+ energy efficient It doesn’t mean anything you would do better to just avoid it and get a PSU in the $70 to $100 range but do stay with the name band like Corsair.
Have you tried reseating the card pull the card out and put it back in

There is no risk to unparking your cores the parking feature on the CPU cores is just a energy saving feature some game and programs gain a tiny bit of performance boost with the cores unparked but this has been debated you can try it and if the added performance gain out ways the added energy cost go for it. Look like you are running In games setting on medium to low. I have an i5 with a low end NVIDIA GTX 650 I think and I’m running medium to high with an average fps of 60 to 80, what your fps.

There was this same issue with this and windows 8 and NVIDIA cards when windows 8.1 came out the problem was solved . I’m thinking this is a driver issue try using an older driver.
It looks like there is something going on in Europe right now but it may not be as wide spread is you think. When posting internet issue it’s always best to post your ISP and region like city and country, so if it’s a regional thing that let’s Anet and others know. This is only the second thread on this and the post count is very low so it looks to me to be a regional internet problem, if it were a server side issue the post count would be higher.

Try disabling any background apps that use internet don’t browse the internet, DON’T use Skype. Some friends of mine were playing league of legions and some of the people in their group were having massive lag spikes they were all using Skype I talked them into trying TeamSpeak3, all their lag went away. Also if you are on wifi try running a cable from your router to your PC if posable see if that solves it to. Also in other game forum people are having lag issues with iTunes running in the background and the iTunes auto updater will cause some games to crash.
To eliminate the keyboard issue try an external keyboard if you have a USB keyboard if the problem still happens then I’m thinking is something else maybe skill lag.

This is definitely not normal, my low end Acer holds a charge while I play GuildWars and the power is plugged in so this really sound like your power supply has an issue. If it’s the power jack on the side of the laptop then it relatively easy to fix for anyone that know how to solder but some laptops are really hard to disassemble to get to the jack. Does the laptop charge normally when not playing the game?
It’s all good here no crash but you might want to take this topic to the support forums it will most likely get move there anyway by a mod.
Just played a little in the Archeage beta and it didn’t impress me, it’s still the same old same old stuff nothing new here. I still like GuildWars but don’t find myself logging into the game as much. Sign up for the beta hoping they did something different but no, so I’m here to stay. Not sure if there will ever be a game that excited me as much as GuildWars did and still can but not with out a big expansion or something to get me back playing like I use to. Back in the day when GW1 came out there were times I played for over 8 hours strait, also ran guild web site TS and Ventrilo servers I was so into the GuildWars games. But now I’m just not that into it. I also tried Wildstar it wasn’t there either, so not sure if it’s MMOs or what. So what do you all think is it this game or MMOs who all fines themselves not logging in as much anymore and can’t find a game that does it for you like GuildWars did?
Commander tags should have never been able to be had with gold it should have been got with XP a large amount of XP. Anybody with a credit card can buy a commander tag wether they have the ability to command or not a commander tag needed to be something earned not bought also there needed to be a series of events that kind of trained you to use the commander tag. As for making it easy to get that is not the answer either then everyone would have one and maps would be over run with them and that would defeat the purpose
I picked up an Acer for $399 at Microcenter with an I5m processor and an Intel HD4400 on broad video and I can play with all in game setting mid to low and I get 20 to 40 fps not great but not bad if you just want to pop on the game to do dailies or some basic stuff while hanging out at Starsmucks, as long as I stay out of any large zergs I’m happy with it I didn’t get the laptop for gaming but more for audio recording and running a digital mixer. I gave GuildWars a try just to see if it would even run on it and was supprized I could get what fps I got.
Torrents will most likely not happen because of security reason and if you ever find the game one a torrent it’s not autherised to be there and most likely has been altered to steel your account information, so don’t download it from a torrent. As for your issue for not being able to get the game, to download you will need to run the installer in admin mode and turn off all security apps like AVs and firewalls.

AreanaNet made GuildWars Carbine studios makes Wildstar the only thing they have in common is that NCSoft is the distributer you need to go to the official Wildstar web site to get your account set up not here
There are only so many dying channels in the game, it looks to me that to get all four of the dying channels we have on our armor that dying weapons may not be posable without giving up an armor dying channel.
If you do a search for top MMO games GuildWars2 shows up in just about every top list out there. It’s not the top of the list but it’s on it.
I’m not positive but it looks from the announcement that this feature pack will only cover PvP and WvW, will just have to wait and see.
Have you all checked out MMORPG.com it has been on top of their list or tied with some other game for over a year now, so anyone that says GW2 Is dead needs a reality check.
No lag here since last patch, what do you have running in the background try disabling all programs and apps that require the internet. Have installed something new or have anything been updated. Also if you are on wifi try running a cable from your router to your PC see if that fixes it.
There are a number of reason you are DCing one common on is something running in the background that needs the internet. Shut down all apps that require internet and see if the problem goes away Skype and iTunes are some of the biggest problems with gaming also weatherbug.
Are you playing over WiFi try running a cable from your router to you PC see is that fixes it to.
Sorry I just assumed didn’t read the whole report, might also be a failing ram stick try running Memtest over night.

I’m not having any loading issue at all, the first time I start up the game it seem a little longer but once I’m in my zone time are under 10sec. On average 7sec. I have a 120gig SSD with the only thing on it is windows7 and the game, all my other games, programs, apps or on a 1TB standard hard drive.
You are running into the OOM error(Out Of Memory) the problem lies with your OS. You are running the 32 bit version of Windows you will need to install the 64bit version the problem is how the 32bit version only allows 3.3gigs of ram to programs and apps. Where the 64bit version will allow up to 8gig of ram. If installing the 64bit version is not an option for you then try and free up ram by shutting down programs and apps you are not using while you play the game. But it’s just easier to reinstall with the 64bit version if you don’t have the DVD you can download it and burn it to a DVD your product key is good for both versions.
Corsairs is a good brand but I would go with at least a 600watt supply then if you ever decide to upgrade and build your own system you will have a supply that can handle it. But 450watts should do for your current system.
I would do what has been suggested but also the fan itself may be failing if you can get to it replace it that is best, but if you can’t find the same fan you could remove the label in the center of the fan. most fans have a small hole under the label put one drop of light machine oil like 3in1 oil in the hole then spin the fan with you finger a few time see if any oil goes down the hole don’t put much, should only be one drop is all you will need. Clean any excess oil off the fan and reapply the label. If the label will not stick back on use a small piece of masking tape. Then reassemble the laptop and see if that fixes it, good luck.

I been telling people this all along that most of there lag issues are stuff running in the background using the internet. I would like to thank the OP and give credit for taking the time to track down the issue instead of just ranting on how bad Anet’s servers are and it’s not on our end I can almost guarantee that over half of all lag issues are caused by something running in the background grabbing their internet.
Some bugs should be super easy to fix, but have gone unaddressed for a long time. Certain tiny quality-of-life changes have been long suggested, but never implemented.
Admittedly, we aren’t all programmers, so we don’t really know if something would be super easy to do or not. But if it seems like it should be something that they should be able to make happen without much effort, then list it here!
Let’s make a compilation for the programmers all in one place of the little stuff we’ve been dying to see taken care of.
__________________________________________________
- Remember the CHAT CHANNEL we were last using when we log out and log back in again.
- Remember our DYE SORTING PREFERENCES (by Hue/Material/Set) when we log out and log back in again.
- Fix the loud FIREWORKS in Harathi Hinterlands, Dredgehaunt Cliffs, etc. associated with Guild activities, that blows non-participants clear out of their seats from the other side of the zone.
- Increase Minipet Speed so that they keep up with their owner.
- Don’t make minipets disappear underwater. If for some reason they must, then make them reappear when you emerge.
- Put ALL FOUR COMPASS POINTS (N,S, E, W) on the rotating version of the mini map, and designate them “always on top” so they don’t get hidden by other map edge icons.
- If a “miscellaneous NPC” is standing near a Banker, or a Merchant, or some other “useful NPC”, then make sure he can NOT be interacted with. (How many times have I clicked to open my Storage, and the NPC next to me says “How do you do?”?)
- Let us be able to DISMISS a “Called Target”. Sometimes they get called by mistake, and the only way to get rid of it is to reselect a white-text creature and kill it.
- Make Hero Window navigation easier: display the “Equipment / Wardrobe / Dyes” selections as TABS, so you can go there in a single click instead of navigating backwards. (Okay, this one’s a little more involved, perhaps).
- Re-institute key-binding for instant swap between armor and Outfits.
What other things can you think of that should be SUPER EASY to fix/change?
What seems to you to be easy to add to the game in most case are not, if you understand anything about programing you would know that something that may seem easy to you could take thousands of lines of code. I stared learning to program back in the 80s and even then with the limited amount of memory we had to work in, programs had thousands of lines of code. A few friends and I started a text based fantasy game on the Commodore 64 and when we finely got broad with the project we were well over 1000 lines. Yes I know our little programing venture doesn’t compare to the games of today where line of code can and most likely go into the millions. Also most games are developed on a program called a game engine, this engine is the basic framework of the game. Some suggestion people make may not be posable in the game engine without a total rewrite of the engine. Must people have a false sense of how programing works, people think that all a dev has to do is sit in front of a PC bang on the keyboard for a few seconds and walla the new feature is added. Programing takes time even if several people are working on the same project it could take months to develop and add this stuff so don’t count on any of this stuff ever happening. Don’t get me wrong the dev do listen to the game fans as a whole and if a suggestions are with in the limitations of the engine some do get added over time. So don’t stop making suggestion just know programing is not easy as the thread title implies.
What is your power supply rated at, with an over clocked CPU and the game being highly CPU based then you are driving your system hard. If this was a factory built system the most likely they put the lowest wattage PSU they could get away with if it’s anything less than 400 watts then that’s most likely your problem replace it with one that’s at least 500w or higher for that CPU and graphics card and don’t buy cheap get a good one at $50+ Name brand
The problem may lie with how full is the OP’s SSD, there may not be enough room for the Windows Swap file. Move the swap file to a second hard drive or free up some space on the SSD.
First off you need to run the game in admin mode second shut down all security like Windows and router firewalls you may also need to disabled your anti virus while downloading the game don’t worry if you are downloading from the official site you will not have any issues. If this doesn’t help you may need to change your DNS ip in your network setting to 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4 these are googles public DNS ips
I think your system may not be high enough to run this game.
This is an awesome idea for guild internal celebrations I don’t think it is wise for it to be a guild hosted event for all to attend, I think it would put to much strain on the servers. This could be a intense based event payed for by influence but this influence rate would have to be high as to prevent abuse. When activated in a city it provides an instance portal that only guild member can see. When a guild member enter the instance the city is decorated for a party with mini games and NPCs selling fireworks, party favors and food.
There is this NCSoft financial report popping up that shows a GuildWars2 expansion in 2015 hopefully it in the first quarter.
That was amazing, very good hope to see and hear more from you guys.
